I got my very first ever large screen tv and the very first video I watched was Rhiannon from the Midnight Special, 1976. Totally awesome. I'm seeing things I've never seen before on the small screen.
YAY! I love big screens!! When I first met Ashley and saw that they had a plasma in their living room the first thing I thought of was "Man I wanna watch The Dance on that!!!" lol

I know, I know, don't go clobbering me with anything because I feel like clobbering myself, but I've found myself listening to Taylor Swift's song "Ours" whenever it's on the radio and admit I kind of like it. I think it's the lyrics that sold me.

JTIS...
That I pulled almost 40 hours in 4 days at the salon! And I got time and a half for Sunday working 8 hours....At sometimes the 8 hours or so goes by pretty fast if we're busy but with the snow storm(s) we had this weekend it was wicked slow thursday friday and kinda saturday....Sunday was SWAMPED! It was only me and Sonja so we had to see if the other Kaitlyn could come in and she did thank god!!
I got my first BIG paycheck =) Working at the Rectory I was only doing part time and my checks wer eonly like a lil over $100... So I was pretty stoked about my big paycheck on Friday...I'm gonna try and save as much $$ as I can and pay off my credit cards lol
Since i'm working so much I feel like I dont have anytime to just hang out...I like my job and the people I work with...but im just not used to the long hours! Especially on my feet lol So when I come home i'm like "I JUST WANNA CHILL" and sometimes Ashley gets mad at me cuz it'll be like midnight and we'll be watching a show and I'll fall asleep lol
Today was SUPPOSE to be my day off....but because Kaitlyn came in yesteday she doesnt have to work today...So I had to cover for her 5-9....today was my only day off...so I told my boss and she said she would change the schedule...I NEED MY 2 DAYS OFF lol

I am totally mesmerized with her talents. LP is the band name for Laura Pergolizzi. I guess it took me awhile to learn about her because i'm on the east coast, I don't know......I can't stop watching the videos. She found her spot in the world, that is for sure...right in front of that mic.
I posted this on another chit chat thread a month ago, please tell me what you think of LP?

May I share my dark side?
My ex dumped me, like a hot potato, on Jan 2nd. And the past 69 days have been absolute f*cking hell for me. I've not been this down(with one exception) ever. Absolutely distraught.
So I'm on vacation. Ran into a friend from high school last night(believe it or not, 300 miles from home!). And we had the most AWESOME freaking day I've had in years, today. Partied like rock stars, ALL DAY($200 in bloody marys!), then went to dinner. Had a great dinner, laughing and enjoying each other. Then I go to pee, before we leave the restaurant...
Text pops in from my ex. "I'm so sorry for what I put you through. The guy I left you for, dumped me. So I know how you feel, and I just wanted to say that I'm sorry".
Moronic me...."well, I love you, and............xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"(I only received a text back) "I just need time alone".
So, apparently, reconciliation isn't an option at this point(and I'm fine with that, for now), BUT BUT BUT, I am secretly SO F*CKING happy, that my replacement was the DUMPER. Not the DUMPEE. The DUMPER. And that the ex is so upset. And that they're apart! "So this guy doesn't worship the ground you walk on(like me)?", is what I wanted to say....but of course I didn't.
I KNOW that that is mean, and I'm NOT a mean person, but I'm so relieved. 2012 has been eating me alive. A case of ketchup couldn't fix the sh*t sandwich that 2012 has been for me....
I feel MEAN, and that makes me feel badly about myself. But I'm just so happy that their relationship is over. I guess only for hopes of reconciliation(that, and I completely changed several things about myself....honestly, I became the "best me" that I ever have been(and was happy for the changes), and it still wasn't enough).
I wish I wanted somebody else, but I don't....I have been trying to talk myself into just "having a good time", but I just can't do it. I freaking wanna be married...Sick, huh? But I still feel mean, and feel badly about that...

You are not mean. If you were mean then you would have sent the text you describe but you didn't. You are, however, human and it's perfectly fine to feel this way if she dumped you and now he's done the same to her. It's very honest of you to admit feeling like that. I challenge anyone not to feel the same (at least a little) and if they say they don;t for at least 5 minutes and that they're always a "bigger" person, then I may even go so far as to say they're lying.

Well, my heart was completely broken. I'm not a "depressed person", YET I have been, so far this year. I lost the love of my life. And the love of my life doesn't even want to get back together(yet?, I can only hope - why would you text your ex, to tell them that you got dumped???), but I can tell you that my mood for the year, went from ZERO, to about a 4, now, just from knowing that they broke up. Especially knowing that the guy who replaced me, was the dumper.
And I'm not proud of the fact that I'm so happy that they're done. But I am. Because I now have HOPE. I sort of consider that to be a dark thing. The thought of them riding off into the sunset, made me completely nauseous. While never suicidal, I really had no reason for wanting to live, from Jan 2nd until now....if that sounds melodramatic, that's not my intention, but it's honestly how I felt. 2012 - my Sh*t sandwich year. Seriously. I've been so down...like never before. And I now feel like it's over, just knowing that they're over. I'm ashamed of being so happy that they're finished.
Thank you. And it has been anguish. Like I've only known, one other time in my life. But at least I have hope now...and that feels like a lot.:)

Sometimes I kind of buy into all that stuff, other times I listen to others and think it's just the earth ever changing like it always has over periods.
I had the thermostat set on 78 and the air kicked on about noon as it warmed up outside. I know though what it's like to have a nice 70-something degree day after winter up north. Yeah, I hope so. It seems really hard though, almost like hitting the lottery...for someone you're attracted to, that you get along with, who's looking for a commitment, who doesn't smoke, and has a job!
And it was like sweet revenge, especially since I didn't do it. KARMA! It was still very strange though, to text me, after 70 days since our breakup, to apologize for dumping me in such a sh*tty way, and to tell me that my replacement did the same thing. I couldn't help but read "possible reconciliation" into that...
We did talk, 2 nights ago, and I'm told that since "we're not perfect for each other", that reconciliation isn't a possibility. That we both need to keep looking for our perfect match. Maybe we're not "perfect". Who is?
I KNOW who I want to spend the rest of my life with. FML.

Yes. I think that's the problem! For a (now) 25yo, who has only slept with one person in their life(I know how strange that sounds, but it's true. -And it's almost impossible to believe, but the new guy was in the picture for 2 months, and they never slept together!), I think the grass is always greener. That there's some knight in shining armor out there... Hey, I AM a knight in shining(okay, slightly tarnished:laugh:) armor!
I have proposed. Twice.
I know. My hands are tied. All I can do, is wait it out, and hope that we get together again. In August, it will be 3 years of on/off. And I'm sure it's obvious, that I've never been the one to call it off.
I felt like I was dying, when they were together(seriously, dying). At least now that they're apart, I can breathe now. Hoping and praying that our history of reconciliation proves to be consistent.

I see this site is for sale. Hope this isn't the wrong thing to say, but according to The Penguin, the website hosting for this site costs $235 per month. I know a lot of people don't have extra money right now, but would some more people please consider becoming Supporting Ledgies? This is a wonderful site for Fleetwood Mac fans and I don't want it to end.
Of course, someone may buy it and not end it or change it. Still, there's always those possibilities.

I just noticed this today too and funny that no one's talking about the elephant in the room. I mainly have two questions, if this site were to sell it could go either way and be a good or bad thing, depending on whoever gets their hands on it running it. As we know from past antics on other boards over the years. And two, if it doesn't sell, is this site going defunct? I've a feeling if so, Seven Wonders will most likely have an influx of people
I've yet to ever say this, and I do seem to have a few friends over here who actually care to chat up and be social with you, but the real reason I've never felt compelled to become a supporting member here is because below the surface, I've never felt welcome here by most. What with little cliques and personal favorites contests always and People's Choice Awards based on popularity, I think it keeps most from contributing. But I do like some of you here and always felt I could post and share anyway if I had something to say. I just hope if the site does sell, it goes in the right hands and someone who knows how to run it.

Yeah, we have roughly 3,300 members... if less than 1/10th of them were supporting members, this site would pay for itself. I believe we have about a dozen supporting members at this moment. It costs $12 per year to be a supporting member- $1 per month. And payment is done through paypal, so your credit card/banking info is 100% secure (all the owner of the board sees is a payment from Paypal).
So if anyone who is reading this thinks they can contribute $1/per month, please do. I think Michele has been an amazing steward to this site the past several years, and she is an invaluable asset to the Fleetwood Mac community. It'd be great if she could continue as custodian.

Seems like if anything, someone could've made things more known if the site was in such dire straits, be like "Hey people's, we really need to come together and save this site!" or something along those lines. What's the harm in asking for that? I don't know much about how sites function behind the scenes, but from what I can tell, sites like City Data incorporate ads into their site that I'm assuming help cover operating costs and are on pages viewed but are not intrusive or invading in such a way. Could they try something like that here along with more paid memberships? City Data I see, is also awarding someone 5,000 for the Most Informative Poster right now so I think sites such as theirs are doing just fine. I would really hate to see The Ledge go to be honest despite the little things I sometimes feel about it.

I think every member just has to do what's right for them. No one is going to like everyone. That's just human nature. Not matter what, this is a great site for Fleetwood Mac. That's why I'm a Supporting Ledgie.

It was all done in the moment, so many of my personal favorite songs were left out.
I just played what made sense. A random, but not really THAT random of an order.
It's a shame too, cause it would fit in nicely, seeing as it starts on an FM7 chord. (Most of her songs do.)

I'd always thought I was a disappointment to my Father as well. I share none of his interests or ambitions. I figured I must be a tremendous disappointment to him since I'm the polar opposite of the relentless, workaholic corporate climber he is. I work to live, not live to work. I have no interest in sports or flying small planes either. My little brother has always been his "baby" who shares all of his interests. I never have gotten much feedback from my Dad from my decision to be a career civil servant who spends his time volunteering, hiking, and swimming. I live a very simple, laid back life.
But a couple years back one of my father's female coworkers shared my parents lakehouse with me for a weekend, and she told me about how incessantly chatty my Father is about me.... about how terribly proud he is of the path in life I've taken. She brought all this up on her own, and shared specific accomplishments of mine. I was absolutely stunned. Fathers may not always be the best at articulating their feelings, but I assure you, yours does care & is proud.

Well, some people are just wired differently. He probably COULDN'T live your laid back lifestyle. It would probably drive him crazy, having that much free time to enjoy.

I worked in the public sector before my partner came along, and I would continue to do so if we parted ways tomorrow (we're both long-term public sector workers- it's how we met). It's what I feel I'm supposed to do. I've worked in the private sector before, and I just didn't feel like I was doing anything worthwhile with my life. How anyone could not fall totally in love with England when it's sunny is beyond me. I really do love this place....even when it rains. (:
I've been watching the show 'Doc Martin' lately & that alone has really warmed me up to the idea of visiting England at some point. I love English history & architecture, but I have zero tolerance for northern climates. Even the winters here in Austin are too cold for me!

I agree about the sunny comment, too but The Ledge doesn't let us have more than one quote unless lots of windows and cut and pasting occurs. ANYWAY. England is so beautiful. I love living here.
Not a huge Doc Martin fan but if anyone so much as mentions it around me I have to remind them that I'm meeting Louise Jameson (Eleanor Glasson) in June because she used to play Leela in Doctor Who

I wish I lived in a part of England that would allow me to love living here. But my hometown is anything but nice. I'm dearly looking forward to being able to fly the nest and go off to see the world. I'm actually currently looking at overseas voluntary opportunities with Amnesty International. Awww, England is beautiful. On a day like yesterday i just felt all warm inside (and not because of the heat ha!) I feel really proud to be English. I love my hometown too (Birmingham) and the country side is wonderful and nothing makes me happier than the smell of Camden town. The hustle and bustle of London excites me, no matter how many times i go and how long i spend there I always feel like i'm on an adventure. (That sounds lame).
I think if you get the chance you should visit here. There is always so much to do and see sometimes i feel a tourist (because of all the things to be discoveerd) in my hometown where I have lived all my life. I sound like I am doing an England promotional tour speech ahaaha. Seriously though I am incredibly proud of my home land.

AHAHA I think I would be a great Prime Minister, I would have Madonna Monday and Fleetwood Mac Friday and on these days at noon everything stops for four minutes and we all sing a song of these artists on their day. Words like spiffing would be used by everyone on a daily basis and men would wear top hats and ladies nice dresses. Oh and I would drop student fees and slap David Cameron. I don't spend any time at all thinking about what I would do if I was Prime Minister, nope not at all.
P.s I feel so sick right now I want to cry.

I know plenty of people who share my feelings, one being my best friend. I mentioned it to somebody the other day and she reacted with such contempt and disgust. It really shocked me, actually. I can't help the fact that children physically repulse me. It's just in my nature. But this woman couldn't see past the accepted role of women as 'nurturers'. I'm just not cut from that cloth. Oh well. Bugger her. That's her pejorative.

Children don't physically repulse me, but I don't especially care for them. I've certainly never wanted any. I greatly dislike certain new parenting trends, and wish that if parents insist on taking their kids places, that they would at least keep them quiet, but so many have adopted a kind of "free-range" philosophy when it comes to children. I've one too many scream in my ear at the grocery store while their parent (usually the mother) looks on obliviously. Some even seem to think it's cute.

I was leaning more towards doing a documentary project, that's why I can't work out how I could do it. I know I could advertise on the British Legion website so I might give that a go. I guess if I started the idea would kind of just develop itself. That I'm thinking about going back to school.....I wanna go for Business Management/Accounting at the Community College we have here...I went to the school before when I graduated high school but didnt finish my degree because I chose to go to Hair School instead...
Well now that I am working in a salon I've come to the conculsion that I do not want to do this as my career my whole life. My mom was right this whole time saying "You should finish your degree so you have something to fall back on" and of course I was like "no mom! I'm fine!" I hate it when moms are always right lol
Anyway, so thats what I am thinking....I figure I'll look for a job and when i get one I'll quit the salon.I cant afford to not work so I have to have a job before I quit the one that I have....then work my ass off and then go to school in the fall and such.
Thinking about going to school actually makes me excited.

Weeeeeeeeell, after watching her last video for "Girls gone wild", i think that Madonna is still the popular Queen of provocation, along with Lady Gaga (Ooooh Marlene would have destroyed her after watching the "Alejandro" official video). But at least they have something to sell and they are talented, you know, not like, say, Kim Kardashian. Or Paris Hilton. Or whatever..

LMFAO whenever I think about how much I have spent on Madonna stuff I just think oh well i don't drink and I don't do drugs so I have to spend my money on something. lol.
She looks so hot in that video. Urgh don't like gaga. I used to but some of her fans on twitter are vile. They act like she invented breathing and everyone who is living is now copying her. So lame, also last week the day before MDNA released they trended everyone buy BTW so Madonna wouldn't get number 1. #minirantover :L

 i suppose Madonna concert tickets really are expensive, aren't they? I'd do the same if Stevie would come to France. I'm becoming frustrated :D
Damn i was not aware of that mini-war between Madonna and Lady Gaga...or their fans. But that's not surprising since Madonna seems to be a HUGE source of inspiration for Gaga, who, indeed didn't invent breathing, and i'm sure her fans are aware of that. So this vendetta against MDNA is logical, but not very smart.
Anyway i'm sure she'll do great even without Gaga fans :).
OOh it's bedtime in Europe, don't you think? Anyway it's been a pleasure talking to you, good night!

TBH they wern't that bad. I didn't get the most expensive ones. It's cost me like just over £15o for two shows but I am going to have to get an hotel for one of those. Oh i know i have given up on Stevie ever coming to the UK on a solo tour. I'm never going to see her live am I?
ahaha the fan war is so lame. I don't get involved tbh. Madonna did a fan talk on twitter for a day so ask madonna trended and it was full of gaga fans asking stupid questions. It's scary how obsessed they are.
Madonna will always do great, she has a really really loyal fanbase.

No, i'm sorry, but you won't ever see Stevie live . No seriously it might happen but your best shot is to wait for a Fleetwood Mac tour :).
Madonna's main strenght is that she has this loyal fan base (which has probably changed a lot through the years), but she also always manages to gather new fans, and that's just impressive.
As for Lady Gaga fans...i'm sure it will pass with the years. Her loyal fanbase will calm down when she will, i guess :).
Yes i'm French, you must have noticed my English mistakes, but i don't live in Paris, don't wear berets, or any other cliché :D.

It just so happens I will be going there tomorrow too. Maybe I'll bump into Caitlin. I always bring 3 magazines with me for two reasons. 1. They keep me occupied when I'm done people watching and 2. I give them to strangers to read to keep them occupied when they become tired of people watching.

JTIS... Traffic coming back into the city last night was an utter sh**show and finding a parking space was virtually impossible. Could it be because of the dual Christian/Jewish holidays? An event at The GLBT Center? No... it was a Wilson Phillips concert at Loehmann's department store two blocks away. Yes, that must have been the reason!
http://gothamist.com/attachments/arts_jen/wphilvid.jpeg
It's one thing to go from having #1 hit singles to performing in an upscale retail department store. But Loehmann's is a discount store. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

I didn't realize they had fallen that low. Carnie Wilson's weight woes still makes magazine covers & news website features after all these years. I guess I thought her continual publicity on that would have kept some sort of interest in Wilson Phillips. Guess not!

My FIRST Easter alone. It's kind of strange...my extended family(aunts, uncles, cousins) has always been so close....and it's like we're drifting apart. I have one aunt and cousin(her daughter) that I'm extremely close to, but the rest of them are drifting away. For the first time ever, we weren't(the 3 of us) invited to Easter(which they always host). Maybe they're not having it...we don't know, but it's strange. And last year, they only came to one summer holiday that I hosted(I always host the 3 summer holidays, since I've got the "summer house"). We just wonder if one of us did something wrong, or what. We've jokingly said, "well, f*ck em!", but it's still strange.... Oh well.
Oh, and I'm alone, because my cousin had to work today, and won't get off until this evening, so we just said screw it...

I've never had a close family, so I can't relate to having mass family gatherings. My Dad's side of the family will only come around when they decide that they want something from him. My Mum's...Well ever since my Grandad died, my Mum and Aunts have been ostracized by his side of the family. I couldn't hazard a guess as to why. We're probably the epitome of the dysfunctional family. Oh well. It's probably why I enjoy my own company so much.

It's depressing when families drift apart. Mine totally splintered when my Grandpa died 15 years ago. We went from this amazing, inseparable, crazy, fun group to everybody refusing to see one another. It's all so stupid, too. My Aunts are all just oil & water, but they used to put all that aside for my Grandfather... and had a fantastic time with each other when they just got over themselves. But you can't make people do what they don't want to do. Just gotta get used to the new normal I guess. :(

Actually, when it happened I didn't feel a thing. The Cat has a running feud with one of the caged Animals; and because he can't get at him he was taking it out on the others all day and I had to break up numerous fights. He probably had a grudge against me lol. I went to check on one of the poorly Cats and he launched at me, gripping my arm as he bit down on my hand. All I could think was 'Keep the arm away from the face' while I flung him off of me. Then I calmly locked up the building behind me before heading into the main room and waiting patiently for my boss to hoover up before telling her what had happened (She had her back to me). While I was explaining I had the usual 'shocked Frog that wants you to cry' in my throat, which made me feel like an utter prat lol. I'm used to being bitten lightly by animals in my line of work, and usually I can tell that they're just saying 'Leave me alone. I'm not in the mood', so I leave them alone. I could tell this one really wished to hurt me.

I've always been level headed in a crisis, I suppose. I was the one who had to call for an ambulance, look after my Dad and direct the paramedics to our house when my Dad had a heart attack in the garden while Mum panicked. Takes a lot to really tattle me, I guess. Yeah, it is a hazard. Thankfully it's the first time anything serious happened in my 10 months working there, which means I must be doing something right. Thankfully I didn't need stitches. Just had to have a tetanus, an X Ray to make sure the Cat didn't leave any teeth in the wounds, super strong antibiotics, medicated strips on the wounds (I can't remember what was on them but they left a yellow stain) and a heck ton of bandages. I have an appointment Tuesday to check on them and hopefully have more user friendly bandages. These ones are terrible. I had a bath earlier and had to cope with that and washing my hair with one hand. It was hard lol. Rather awkwardly my Mother knocked on the bathroom door and asked if I wanted her to come in and help me  'Er...No Mum. You're alright.I'd rather drown thanks'

Got to love Mums, even if they're genetically designed to embarrass their children; even without any intention. But Dads can be like that too. Saturday my Dad decided to accompany myself and my Mum for a pub lunch. He looked at me for a while and then said really loudly "She's getting very pretty, this Daughter of ours". I didn't know what to do with myself as people were looking at me by then. I was like "Hey! Is that a drink?!" and proceeded to gulp down the scolding hot Tea my Mum had just brought back from the bar for me, just so I could avoid the subject haha.
My Mum's the same. She'll panic too. It's probably just a temperament bred through necessity, as I've always been the one who was rather 'forced' into cleaning up the mess and coping with the dilemma's. But hey, if there's ever a Zombie apocalypse, look me up. Might be useful, haha.

That said, my family is not one to argue, ever. So if there is a problem, they wouldn't say anything, just avoid us...

And he makes them wait and pose for a picture! Love it. I adore the use of foreshadowing. When you first watch it, you don't notice it. But then you begin to realise as you repeatedly watch it that alot of the events were suggested in the beginning of the film. For example, when Shaun and Ed are messing around in the front room before having an altercation with Pete. As soon as he leaves, Ed mutters "The next time I see him, he's dead". And he is! That's one of the most obvious examples, lol. Also, I love the scene in the car when they hit the zombie. They're taking off bad American soap opera's when Ed says "Maybe we hit something"....Shaun looks off into the distance and says dramatically "Or someone..." before hitting his head on the window when Ed presses the horn lol. :D:laugh:

Yes you're right. The film is far cleverer than it initially appears.
Horrible weather today in London. Must be a bank holiday Monday

Attempting to do college work and watching Ninotchka. This is my favourite Garbo movie. What a wonderful actress she was!

I always watch clips of what's my line on youtube. I was defiantly born in the wrong era. Does anyone else ever watch it...and practice the voice that they would do? no just me okay.

Off to a job interview. For a job I'm not even sure I want. It's shady stuff.

NOT!
Had to drive for pre-employment drug screening, which went as usual but I was sick as hell that whole morning so I was nauseated when I took it, add to it the agency gave my directions to the facility that went the opposite direction from where I needed to go, so by the time I was done I was a nice shade of pale green in the face

We often say we hate something because we really don't understand it. I often say I hate cell phones. I called my cell provider and ordered a new phone because I couldn't get the mute button to cooperate with me. So they sent me another phone which is exactly the same one as the broken one and not until I have the new one in my hand do I realize there are volume buttons on the side of it and obviously on the original one also. So I grab the original and turn up the volume and then realize my phone was never broken. It was just me who didn't know WTF I was doing.
