On a side note, I have no clue what or why people got banned. I'm guessing it was warranted by you moderators and I keep to myself pretty much so I have no clue what goes on on here. Personally I don't see or fear you any differently since you became a mod Brandon and I don't act up on here ever to warrant anything ever happening to me so I don't see an issue ever. I think you're as cool and likeable a person as ever, to everyone and a great moderator who is responsible, and fair when need be. I just think you're as cool as you ever was with people. :) And I never understood why some had haterade for you. You're likeable and chat with anyone on here.

Louie I miss talking to, but he got quiet or simply too busy these last few months on me so I don't really know what's going on there. But he's cool to me too and Jannie also. I don't really know any of the other administrators on here but you all seem ok to me. I think as long as one respects the board they shouldn't have any issues with you mods.

I used to be more open and opinionated on the other board until you realize how silly it all was 3 or 4 years later looking back to fuss and fight with someone.

People are permanently banned for breaking rules repeatedly & showing a lack of disregard for respect & common decency. Members are not banned for having differing opinions from the moderation team or for being outspoken. If that were the case, I myself would have been banned long, long ago. :p

Regarding why some posts have recently been removed- it is our policy to not condone discussion of board members (past or present) who cannot speak for themselves. Any discussion would be hearsay anyway since only the moderation team and the respective board member know the full story. The moderation team does not advertise when members are suspended, banned, or why disciplinary action is taken. That would be gossip. Everyone here knows the rules of etiquette of the Ledge... you agreed to them when you signed up. If you follow them, you have no reason to fear disciplinary action from the moderation team.

Some people try and use the Just Thought I'd Share thread to stir malcontent amongst members, and us on the moderation team have no tolerance for that either. There are no dark conspiracies or sordid dramas on the Ledge. Members come and go of their own accord, or are removed because they cannot abide by our very liberally enforced protocol. It's pretty cut and dry folks. :)

I have seen (and experienced) much worse offenses here that were ignored or let off with a slap on the wrist. 1) Repeatedly annoying a mod seems to do it to.

2) By asking where certain members are or what happened? That stirs the pot? I don't think any of the members who asked or answered, for that matter) were trying to start anything up. Talk about conspiracy theories...

If this was the Huffington Post, I would flame and fan this. The beauty of message boards like this is that people have opinions and express them. And more often than not, people with the most interesting opinions about one thing tend to have opinions about everything- welcomed or not. And I would much rather read a board full of opinions (even if they border on the rude) rather than a board full of people who are too paranoid to post anything remotely insightful or funny for fear of offending the prickly minority (in the numbers sense, not the racial sense, just so I am making myself perfectly clear here :rolleyes: ). The result is that the board becomes more and more about data- chart positions, concert tickets, articles, etc., than the opinions and personalities of the individual contributors that make a board interesting. Should there be codes of conduct? Absolutely. There is an abyss of difference between a person being offensive for the sake of being offensive vs. a person who deservedly calls people out on their hypocrisy or inability to think/behave/write rationally. It's rather sad that these days I have to wade through 100 "where are you sitting?" posts for every one remotely insightful or funny post about something interesting.

I do however take exception to a board member allegedly making repeated grammar corrections towards another member, no matter how well intentioned or flippant it may have been intended. First of all, conversations that have no interest to anyone other than the participants need to stay in PMs. I don't like to complain about being a mod but to wade through a bunch of one liners that mean NOTHING is a drag, especially at the end of a long day.

Find perspective- it's a message board. People will come and go, either of their own accord, or through bans or suspensions. If someone on here is made to leave and I really like them, then I figure out a way to communicate with them outside of this arena. Maybe I am just too detached, but I honestly do not get that members of this board are heavily censored. :shrug:

I accidentally signed myself up for a LoveFilm account (It's not a dodgy porno thing, like it sounds :laugh: I don't know if you guys have it in the US, basically it's a movie rental thing) when my ex-friend and I got stopped in the street, and they were all "Oh, we only need your credit cards for ID, you don't have to pay anything, after three months you decide whether or not to upgrade to a paid account". Anyway. Later that month, I notice I've lost five quid from my bank. Totally scammed. Tried cancelling online, but, apparently, you have to phone up to cancel, and if there's one thing I loathe, it's phone calls :laugh:

That's how I got my heart&soul tshirt. *lowers head in shame* The dude was like, sign up for this newspaper and get this Stevie Nicks tshirt! I said, "yay free!" So I signed up and 2 weeks later I called to cancel. Ooooooooh but they didn't have me in the system yet, they didn't know my info, they didn't think I signed up with them. Riiiiiiight....so a few days later, there's the charge! So I called back, really calm, to cancel. This rep had the nerve to tell me that he'll refund me one paper, but not the entire charge. No no no booboo! U will give me my money! Plus I NEVER got one paper! Well after I finished talking to the supervisor about how I was lied to, misinformed and greatly hurt and discouraged by their company, she refunded me my money! And I still have the Tshirt! Lmao!

I utterly fail at being a young adult because I don't drink alcohol. The last time I had a Vodka (Two years ago) I walked around London shoeless in my pajamas in the middle of the night asking strangers for directions back to my hotel before getting scared of the rapey looking guy in the park I was in (He was taking stuff from the bins and putting them in his suitcase) and climbing a tree. I was there all night. I shouldn't drink. I apparently turn into some kind of feline.

I drink alcohol, but only weak versions - beer, wine cooler-type beverages, light wine, a very occasional margarita or weak mixed drink. I can handle all of that, but I literally cannot drink hard liquor straight. Even a really stiff mixed drink will do me in. I get very sloppy/slurry & out of control very fast. It's not good.

Jeez! You really don't care for your lost money, do you :p Hell, I'd phone up for you if you wanted. You shouldn't be losing money like that. But then again, I'm a hypocrite. Because I signed up to give a tenner a month to the NSPCC in the middle of Leeds City Centre because the guy who was canvassing was charming and had pink hair. I think being a supporting member on these message boards one still has to abide by all the rules and it doesn't give one the right to get away with anything more than anyone else does just because you pay your money. If you're not acting up there shouldn't be cause for them to ban you and you feeling they're taking your money.

The moderators do not discuss the reasons why a member gets banned with other non-banned forum members. Therefore I am not assuming anything... You are incorrect in the information you provided earlier in the thread about why Carried was banned. And that goes back to what I just said about why the reasons for people being banned aren't discussed openly... It's an ugly game that only lends to gossip, speculation, and hearsay. Forum members get banned for repeatedly breaking rules, and the moderation team often gives numerous chances for people to "straighten up." People are not banned on a whim. The actions of the banned member are what gets them the boot. Either way I won't argue the point any further, and I would suggest you PM me, or another mod if you have something else to say further on that subject.

I haven't watched soaps since maybe the early 90's but my favorites back then were always The Young and the Restless, Guiding Light, and As the World Turns. But recently while flipping through daytime tv, honey I ran across Billy Miller from Y&R and I've fallen in love. I think it's his down to earth all American boyish charm. But I just love everything about this man. (I know, just another one of my innocent crushes on people) But he is so cute to me! And so I tune in whenever possible :D

Oh, and I just love his hair, eyes, and sideburns.

The ultimate cliffhanger, eh. Both AMC and OTLT are moving online in January. The AMC actors that don't sign on to the new AMC will most likely be the ones shot. There are alot of negotiations and hurdles to jump until January 2012.

And I've never had acne BAD, in my life. Just about one good zit a month. I have noticed that I seem to get them now, after a very stressful week, and this past weekend was very stressful(I did sound for two stages, at a fairly large world music festival). So I'm assuming that's what caused this painful zit on my upper lip.:mad:

Me, my friend and her sister went to Flamingo Land a while ago and we went on so many rides in quick succession (It was a weekday and school was still in session) that we all threw up multiple times. I have to say, the drive back was hell, my stomach was spinning so actively. I had to take a nap lest she need to have her car professionally cleaned lol.

Try rubbing your hands against some stainless steel (your sink?) while running cold water over them. It works for onions, garlic, etc.

Funny you should say that. After I posted I tried something similar. I put about a tablespoon of salt in my hand and then added rubbing alcohol and used it like a suagr scrub. The two together seemed to provide more relief than the alcohol alone.

This morning the burn is mostly gone, thankfully, and surprisingly my hands aren't red or chafed.

That sounds awesome, not the sick part. Oh my, she ate all that knowing she was going on a coaster? LOL brave.

I felt mega ill half way around but i carried on. Trooper that I am.. :') The journey home was terrible all the way i was like Amy.. i'm going to be sick.. Amy i'm going to be sick. I wasn't thank god but ohmygod it was terrible.

The pictures of us on the rides were so funny aswell.. on Rita I looked like Joan Rivers. Such a fun day though, I haven't gone in college today either because i can't talk properly and feel rough.

Then my mom is giving me a LIST of people to call when she comes out lol Oh man this is gonna be a loooooong 4 weeks!

When my mom had her last surgery, I was actually grateful for the quiet time alone while waiting. I brought my laptop and got comfortable on a soft couch. Every now and then I would close my eyes and remind myself how lucky I was to have such an awesome mom. Take deep breaths, Caitlin and have faith that it will all work out. xo

Good luck to your mom. Be sure to bring a book or some magazines with you for distraction. I'm sure the surgery might take a while.

When my mom had her last surgery, I was actually grateful for the quiet time alone while waiting. I brought my laptop and got comfortable on a soft couch. Every now and then I would close my eyes and remind myself how lucky I was to have such an awesome mom. Take deep breaths, Caitlin and have faith that it will all work out. xo

I'm definatly gonna bring my laptop with me...right now I am wicked anxious and scared...my stomach has been in knots for days!! So I'm not sure how I am gonna be tomorrow =\ I'll definatly update you guys on here and facebook

Thanks...I know its for the best and the surgeon has never had any malpractice and has been doing this for 30+ years...so I know shes in good hands, but its just scary that their gonna shave some of her hair and open her skull =\ And I'm afraid of what shes gonna look like after...and the WAITING...I'm probs gonna be by myself in the waiting room...

Really crap day, my nan got a call from the doctors yesterday after having scans a few days ago and they told her to go up today because it's urgent. They found a shaddow on the lung and they are convinced it's cancer. Soo pretty tough to deal with that right now. I cried on the bus home and felt like such an idiot. Urgh :( I'm trying to stay positive but it's difficult.

My mom was brought into surgery an hour ago…so I went downstairs and got some “dinner” now I am back up in the waiting room….waiting…good thing there is wifi and I brought movies!!! My mom was a nervous wreck and crying a lot. I stayed strong as best as I could and didnt cry…Once they sedated her and started bringing her into surgery I cracked….I was standing there watching my mom be wheeled into surgery while I held my lil backpack and laptop bag…with the nurse next to me…I was bawling my eyes out and told her my mom is my everything and how I’m an only child…She said some nice words and gave me a hug…
