My hometown had a Tornado this afternoon. Just wanted all of you to know that I am fine. There is no power in my home. I'm on a friend's computer right now. My family is fine, though I still haven't been able to get a hold of my brother and sister in law or their kids but I'd bet everyone is fine.
There have been no reports on the news of any serious injuries to any human being, just various building damage throughout the regin.

Glad you and your family are okay and I hope that you get ahold of your brother!!!
From what i hear 20 are injured and there are 4 deaths

Yikes. I'm glad that you're okay. These natural disasters are getting freakishly frequent over the past year or so, I've noticed. Even Britain's had a couple of earthquakes and tornadoes :s

Ha! Best get well wish yet!

Supposedly I'm gonna be without power for 4 days. God has blessed me and my family. Though we are surrounded by destruction, our lives and our homes are safe. I don't mean to sound too dramatic. There are still many parts of the city that are functioning normally. I'm at work right now as I type this.

Gosh, Viv, I really can't imagine. Glad you and your loved ones are safe, but what a terrifying experience. And no power for four more days--it's an absolute nightmare. I'll be thinking of you.

Ouch. 4 days. I go nuts when i lose power for 4 hours. I hope they are wrong and you have your power back much sooner! Otherwise, throw a bag together and take a road trip!

But seriously, very glad you and everyone else in your area are ok. I have family and coworkers in Mass, but everyone came through yesterday just fine.

It's hard to believe the tornado had far reaching effects Caitlin. You are far enough away from Springfield.
Anyhoo, the power was restored this morning at 10:40am and one of the first things I did was take a nice, hot shower.
I am so fortunate. Not even 1 mile from my home there are several neighborhood's with severe destruction mainly caused by downed trees.

If anyone wants to see the chaos there are many photos available on this website:

They do have their necessity, but I quite agree. I was offered them years ago. But they wanted to remove teeth and I was told they'd probably cause irreparable staining. Definitely not worth it for the sake of two crooked front teeth. As long as they're a normal colour and not falling out of your head or disgusting in any unhygienic way, I don't really see the point of them, personally. Though I suppose if there's any psychological detriment with having crooked teeth, then that's fine.

On a side note. I'm re-watching Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King. I never quite noticed just how stunning Aragorn is before. Om Nom Nom!

If it were cosmetic only, I don't think I would have justified the expense. If I don't do this, I will have significant structural damage and won't be able to close my mouth properly. And yeah, that's not too attractive either.

I've gotten a lot of support from family and friends, which is really cool. Doesn't alleviate the physical pain, though.

That's perfectly acceptable then, if it really is detrimental not to have them. How much is your dental work costing you? I know over here, unless you go private and resort to paying for the best care, it doesn't cost anything if you can really prove it's a necessity. But then again, with the way the National health service is going at the moment, you'd be lucky to get it done in the next couple of years.

Boy, do I know how you feel! In Charlotte, I had my own "mancave" on the second floor of our condo where I could escape, decompress, have some privacy, watch my own movies, listen to my own music, read books in silence, etc. But in order to conserve costs, my bf and I live in a 1 bedroom here in Austin. The lack of space and privacy is more than I can bear some days LOL. I just need my recharge time & space to be able to function. And my bf is very busy & chatty. He NEVER needs any quiet time. In fact, he has to have noise and activity around him at all times. He cannot stand silence, so he has like all these fans running, he's always clanging around doing something, always has music or the TV on, never ever stops talking, etc. Thus, =I= never get any quiet time. Drive me NUTS!!

A therapist once told me that I'm the most introverted client she's ever had. I'm naturally very low-energy, and I need quiet time to recharge after doing just about anything that involves being out & about. My bf can't understand this at all and takes it really, really personally, despite my numerous explanations to the contrary. He continues to think it's a problem that I need to get over.

He's the kind that *has* to be doing something all the time - he's very high-strung, cannot relax, and literally cannot sit still for more than 5 minutes without getting bored, fidgety, irritated, and depressed. And he's *very* passive-aggressive about it. It's starting to become a big problem, I'm afraid.

This was one problem that ended my relationship. We lived together and he always wanted to go out and be in the scene...nightly. I, on the other hand, work 12 hour shifts and was usually tired or just had no interest in going out for a drink or dinner when we had food in the house. He eventually started going out all the time without me and ended up meeting someone who likes to go out all the time like he does.

This is patently untrue. Moderators cannot police what goes on in private messaging. We do not have access to member inboxes, so any complaints we receive are viewed as hearsay and we do not act on them.

Morale of the story: if you have personal grievances with someone, take it to PM and fight to the death there. Personal arguments have no place on the board. Take it to PM, folks! :wavey:

If you can't resolve something through private messaging, then it probably can't be resolved. Why is it so difficult to just LET IT GO. Whatever "it" is, how important can the argument really be?

As an aside, we generally do not get involved when we get a complaint about a PM.

I recently got one at Best Buy, it's a seagate, I forget the exact model, and it was on sale for a little over $100 and is 2 TB. It's "cheap" money for peace of mind. I am so relieved to finally have my files backed up after about a year of not doing so. :o Lucky duck I didn't lose anything!

I don't like the software that comes with the drive, though. It's a memory hog and it sucks. I am using Norton to back up my files once a week and it is working well. The backup is encrypted. I'm fairly good with these things so feel free to PM me Homie if you need any help. I struggled with a few backup aps and Norton was the best.

Since it is already my antivirus software that was a plus!

THANKS SO MUCH. $100-ish is definitely in my price looking range! And 2TB is 10 times what the drive is on here, so that should last me a while! My credit card rolls on the 17th...I'll go get one then. I so look forward to getting this machine upgraded to W7!

So y'all know about my weight loss, blah, blah, blah.....

I've never known my BMI, but I stopped in Sam's Club just now, and they were doing a free men's health screening.

Sooo, the chart starts off at a low BMI of 19, and that's for a man who's 4'10". I'm 5'10". My BMI? 20.1!!!:D:blob2::blob1::blob1::blob2::D
The nurse said it was the lowest number she'd seen all day! (god, the two guys in front of me, were both at LEAST 100 lbs overweight....I wish I could have seen their numbers!)

Whatever floats your boat. To me, though, your desire the know that specific BMIs of men who are clearly unhealthy (and presumably concerned about it, given that they'd gone to get checked) sounds more like schadenfreude than curiousity. Weight is not a competition, and others' fatness does not make you skinnier.

While no offense is taken, see, almost nothing can be said around here, without someone else pointing out why they think you're in the wrong, or non-PC, or whatever.

I merely pointed out that I was curious, as to their own BMI's. No competition, nothing like that(clearly, since the one guy made 2.5 of me, I WON!).

Point taken--I can be over-sensitive when it comes to weight, having struggled with bulimia since high school. I'm clearly coming at this with personal baggage, but so it is: I hate weight jabs almost as much as you love commas.

Yeah, you're allowed to be curious. But you did present BMIs as a competition, as you consistently have with weight in the past. It's a notion that I find deeply problematic, but again, I recognize that I'm probably touchy on this subject. It's a work in progress.

Now, now. Don't get cranky just because she "beat" your BMI. No one likes a sore loser.

But seriously, what you just said was even more uncalled for than your "ASSumptions" remark. Grace didn't have to admit any personal bias to you. You presented the fact that you had the lowest BMI of the day as a cause for celebration. Whether that's a good thing or not is marginally up for debate, but it's not debatable that it WAS a competition for you. Grace pointing that out isn't her being touchy-- it's more like her having reading comprehension skills.

Good for you for getting help. Have you watched "Addicted to Food" on OWN? Intense.

Try to remember that when people are concerned with other people's weight that is on them. It is nothing personal. I cringe whenever anyone says Stevie is heavy or skinny. I just wish it wasn't such a "thing" but it is.

I don't think Homie meant any harm, he's been successful at weight loss. I think sometimes you look at others and think that at least you are not or no longer there. But it doesn't mean you wish them ill, you know?

Sorry, I am totally butting in. But I am a foodie myself and have struggled with my weight and body image issues. I also tend to see criticism where it doesn't exist.

Keep up the good "fight", Grace. I am currently reading "Women, Food, and God". There's some good stuff in there.

I just got an email from the house manager of the place I'm staying at for the summer. He's hosting a barbeque tomorrow for all the boarders, and there's going to be a house meeting beforehand. I emailed him back and explained that I work on Sundays so I'll be late to the barbeque, but I would really appreciate it if he would tell me what he plans to discuss at the meeting. He responded with, "Yeah sure, but how late will you be to the barbeque?" Now, I'm running off of very, very, very little sleep today, so I'm not in the best mood, but that really pissed me off. I wrote back explaining that the time will really depend on a number of factors relating to my job, but since we're no longer talking about the meeting, I don't really understand why he needs to know my schedule. I told him that I was absolutely fine with the mandatory rent and housecare policies in the contract I signed, but I wasn't cool with mandatory socializing. He hasn't answered. Was I out of line?

I will forever be in a weight battle. Just because I've been winning for a couple of years, doesn't mean it's over. It will never be over. My body wants to weigh 5o lbs more than I'm willing to let it, period.
For me, living by some hard rules like "NO McDONALDS", does make it easier to toe the line. I just WON'T eat there(I use them only as a fast food crap example - they're all the same).

So I think most of us here have weight/body image issues.

Let's just drop it.

I have been trying to get back into the gym regularly and I haven't been very successful. I have found that I am raring to go on Monday morning but then as the week progresses, I'm done. It's ridiculous; I've only been going one time a week lately (Monday morning). I can't figure out how to get myself back on track. I go to bed relatively early- I just feel so damned tired. Getting old sucks. Being young, thin, and eating whatever I wanted was much more fun.

I have no idea what my BMI is- might be interesting to find out. Eating disorders, body image disorders, etc. are so difficult. There is a place in my clinical assessment where I ask about eating habits. I hate to get an affirmative on those questions- eating disordered clients are difficult to treat. You're dealing with both a physical and mental illness and clients are frequently resistant to change.

If there's one thing I've learned while moderating this board, it's to keep my mouth shut. Admittedly it bugs me when people bicker, but by the time I sit down to say something about it, I've lost interest. Is that bad?

Getting old does suck!!! And I made the choice (almost)two years ago, that I was going to EAT my way to thin. Because FUKC exercise!(yes, a poor decision). But I will tell all, that being thin RULES. I can't begin to describe the attention it has gained me. I have played with the same band, since my early 20's. A woman asked me tonight, "you're not the same guy that used to play with this band, are you? Because you look way too young to be him." I just said, "well, I used to look a lot different".

(see, I should be able to share that, without hyper-sensitive people freaking the fukc out - so please check your Ritalin before you post.) BUT, people don't think you're old, in general, if you're thin.

I never knew or cared, what BMI was, until I took the free test today....

While I was amazed by Brian's admission that 'he should have stepped back, and just let "it" take care of itself'(and it took every fiber of my being to not let every thought I have on "that" matter FLY), he is now correct, IMO. Things have a way of working themselves out, if you believe that most of us do have a conscience, and empathy, and
caring for others....
But now, I've lost interest too!!!

JTIS... BMIs are not the holy grail used to analyze someone's weight anymore. More muscle=more weight=higher BMI so it is an inherently flawed tool.

Very true. BMI is BS - or at least how it is used is BS. I work out, so my weight is high for my height. According to BMI, I fit in the "obese" category based solely on my weight/height proportion. This means that if I switch my health insurance policy to another company, I have to pay a big extra fee. They do not take into account whether it's muscle or fat that tips the scales. They advised me (off the record, of course) that I might avoid the fee if I stop working out & starve myself (their exact words!) for a bit so my weight would fall just for the initial weigh-in, & then as a policy holder I could put on as much weight as I want - even if it's fat. (I stuck with my old/outrageously priced policy.) Gotta love health care in the USA.

if you can make an educated guess about their height & weight (which apparently you did), you can figure out their BMI, even though it doesn't matter. also, as someone else pointed out, BMI is largely BS.

After finishing the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer I've completely lost my motivation. Ugh! I think I'm going to suck it up and hire a trainer.

I heard that about eating disordered clients and it is sad. I have a friend who struggles so much and it's very difficult to watch since she is STUNNING so it's impossible to see what she sees when she looks in the mirror. I can't help her though, I did try and she put me at arm's length. I'm okay with that though. If she's choosing not to change and stay miserable I really can't be around that. I think strong feelings are apt for this subject, considering that it's a "movement" that promotes eating disorders and self abuse in the name of aesthetic vanity. Please don't censor yourself, Georgie. People censoring themselves is how issues remain unresolved and ignorance is bred from that.

Ugh I don't even know how to start this in a reasonable manner. Like some of the others who've posted about the subject, I've also been through an eating disorder and even though now I've "turned around completely" and I love food I still have days where it's hard and I do still skip meals, I just make up for them otherwise. It never goes away.

Dave, I'm happy you lost weight and are comfortable in your own body, that really is a brilliant achievement and is something to be proud of, I just think there's much more sensitive ways of approaching the subject than "I'm skinny so now I get the hot babes. I didn't before" and therefore implying subconsciously that if you're overweight (or not even that, just not Barbie/Ken skinny) you don't get the "hotties". It seems like you've gone from one extreme to the other and that's frightening. I don't remember where you said it but I remember you saying how you sometimes don't eat and that it hurts but you take that as a good sign because you're fighting it. I've been there, done that and it nearly killed me.

I feel like I'm beginning to get confrontational now, see. I don't want to be making an example of you but it's becoming inevitable as I type, the Riot Grrrl in me is still a bit of an oncoming storm.

On the subject of thinspiration, Bee, you're completely right. They are no different. It's just foul that one human can dictate to another how to achievewhat they consider perfection. No one should be anyone's thinspiration.

My ex-girlfriend also went through it. She also nearly killed herself and she looks in the mirror every day and thinks she's fat. She's almost 6' and I think she weighs about 7 stone. Do the maths.

Seeing discussions about it that are supportive towards one another are brilliant because we can help eachother and provide a shoulder to lean on but making jokes and enforcing the belief that skinny=perfect, IMO is NOT ok and never ever will be. I wish some people would just think a bit more before they type.

I think, in a perfect world, people wouldn't hold store to how one looks aesthetically. Unfortunately, considering the people I see around me on a daily basis, there aren't many of us who believe that. People who believed that it was the outside that counted made my life hell for many years, leading me down the road of self harm, suicidal tendencies, depression and eating disorders throughout my teenage years. They're still demons I still carry with me, because the fact that they've been coping mechanisms for so many years trained me into believing that nothing else helps. I withhold meals daily, self harm when I'm in an especially dark place that my music and art can't soothe and I constantly battle against depression. I know some of this is my own fault, because I've always been hyper sensitive. But alot of it isn't. It's the fault of people who ever told me I was too fat to be anybody's friend (manbeast was my nickname at school...). It's the people who ever told me I wasn't good enough, who chose to heighten their confidence by comparing myself negatively to them. It's my father who told me to my face that he didn't love me. And yes, this probably is a whiny ass post. But these whiny feelings were conjured by people making me feel so god-damn low that I have now zero self worth. But it's the people who don't judge on appearances and other flaws, the ones who only want to make people feel better about themselves and fulfil their potential, that make me feel proud that i didn't give in to my urges years ago and remove myself from the equation.

For the first time in my life I'm in a place where I can say, without any doubt, that I'm glad I survived.

Words aren't the only thing that can cause/contribute to an eating disorder. I went through it, I didn't even think I was fat, nobody told me I was or thought I was fat, but as a dancer in a widely known group I felt like I needed to have the *perfect* body and years later I'm still feeling the effects of it. It never totally goes away, and hearing people talk about it like it's nothing and calling others 'sensitive' is utter sh*t.

it's funny how they're "just words" when they're coming out of your hole, but when other people say things about you that you don't like, it's another story. of course, i'm pretty sure i'm on your ignore list, so maybe all of this is for naught, but whatev. you have some of the most confused, creepy, reprehensible views towards body image, sex, and relationships that i have ever encountered. the mere fact that you can't go one week without talking about your "23 year old" or your miraculous weight loss speaks volumes. we've all read your stories! we all know that you used to be a nottie! we've all seen your comma diarrhea! you don't, need, to, mention it, every, single, day.

it's great that you're happy when you used to be a sad, pathetic introvert (not my characterization of you, but yours!), but one thing about you will never change, and that is your singular interest in yourself. when your life sucked, your woes were all you talked about. now that it's "good," all you talk about is your fluctuating weight, the "love of your life" (who has already told you to back the f*ck off) and your coke-fueled pool orgies. when you interact with other people on this board, it is only so you can bring it back to yourself. if someone mentions losing weight, you're right there with the SAME, OLD, STORY! if someone talks about being in a relationship, you're there with the SAME, OLD, STORY! while i like having something to set my watch to, your dog and pony show is past its prime. it's ridiculous enough that you beat the same drum, but i really wouldn't have bothered posting in your general direction if you hadn't completely blown off people who pointed out, as respectfully as they could, that your self-aggrandizing posts may be having a deleterious effect on the younger members of the group. i avoid interacting with you at length because despite your bloviating, you really are a sensitive flower of a man (for years you refused to post a picture on the big, bad interwebs) who couldn't stand up straight if someone shoved a metal rod up your rear. but after seeing you blow off grace, georgie, and others, i see no reason to spare you my ~opinion.~

the people who have challenged you on your weight rhetoric are people whose lives have been deeply affected by food issues -- they have revealed very intimate truths about themselves in order to appeal to your better judgment, should you have any. as someone who is an expert at the 25-and-under set, you ought to have more awareness about how harmful your attitudes can be. do you realize that you talk like an addict? if anyone came on here and talked about how heroin or cutting or pills made their lives so much better, they would immediately be counseled and probably censured. it only underscores how pervasive body image issues are in western society that you are not universally looked upon with pity and/or scorn around here.

Eep, I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I feel like I have to say something, since weight is something I think we either have issues with or know someone else who has, and something we can all relate to.

I do not buy that only skinny people can be attractive. At all. I have two friends who have always struggled with their weight, and now they've accepted that they're always going to be on the heavier side in life; they are two of the most attractive people I know. Confidence is pretty much the sexiest thing, and if you're confident with your body; you're going to appear attractive to someone. Conversely, I've known many many healthy, skinny people who have been utterly convinced that they're fat, and become utterly obsessed with their weight, and because of this, they have made themselves unhealthy, or they become so insecure it becomes the biggest turn off imaginable. I think if people accepted their weight, everyone would be much happier. There's too much pressure on kids to be skinny. Sure, lose/gain weight if it's a medical necessity, or if you personally feel like it, but let's not try and say that only one way can be the right way; I believe that whatever makes you happy and healthy works just fine. It's why I, personally, don't really care what my BMI is, and I don't even know how much I weigh exactly, I'm quite content to carry on as I am, and to hell with anyone who'd tell me different.

And, for what it's worth, I think that words DO matter, more than people know. Verbal bullying is often far, far, FAR worse than physical bullying, for the sheer mental damage it can do to someone, even if they're able to laugh it off on the outside, they can be hurting on the inside. For every gay kid who's been able to shrug off the name-calling, there have been those who have been deeply wounded by it. For every person struggling with their weight who can laugh off a fat joke or not take it personally, there are those whom it will hurt and offend. And so on.

...I actually have no idea what I'm trying to say here, and I'm fairly sure I've just babbled a load of bollocks, but I felt like I had to say something.

It's not your fault you're sensitive. Sensitivity is a trait like eye color. You can't just will yourself to be less sensitive. Telling someone they're too sensitive is the same as telling someone they are too short or too brunette. We really need to respect more temperaments than the Clint Eastwood badass type. I think most of us with weight "issues" are very sensitive hence reaching for the comfort food provides. We can't be less sensitive but we can learn that what others think of us really doesn't matter. The attempted homogenization in high schools is awful. Not everyone fits the same mold.

So true. I've really had the chance to see that this spring.
We recently found out my aunt has a form of early-onset dementia, very possibly Wernicke-Korsakoff (better known as wet brain), which would be a result of her lifelong battles with alcohol, pills and bulimia. A great-aunt on my other side has ovarian cancer but can't receive chemo as often as a patient normally would because she's ravaged her body over decades of alcoholism and anorexia, developed in her modeling days. Both are smart, naturally beautiful women in their early-mid sixties who may have robbed themselves of decades by mistreating their bodies for so long. They actually inspired me to get much more serious about my own issues.

I'm revolted by thinspiration blogs but do feel miserable for the people who write them--their roads won't be easy. Even if they manage to overcome anorexia, I can't imagine they'll ever forgive themselves for encouraging others down the rabbit hole of body dysmorphia.

I'm late for a date, and don't really have time to respond....I will say, that I'm always AMAZED at how UBER sensitive people are. I'm tough as nails, and words just simply don't bother me.

I hate it when people adopt this position. Of course words matter! (Especially in this context--we're on frigging message board! Your words are probably all I will ever know of you.)

They are our most powerful tool of expression (this is also why it pains me to see punctuation abused). With words we can capture own own feelings in ways that affect others--sometimes in a positive way (as novelists and lyricists connect to an audience), sometimes in a negative one: we've all heard of taunting contributing to the suicides of gay teens.

Language matters and you are accountable for the things you write. You might disagree with the reactions people have to them, but only a narcissist of the highest order wouldn't be troubled to have offended a number of people (not that I expect anything I say about you to land).

Ugh I don't even know how to start this in a reasonable manner. I don't really know what to say on this issue, but I'll make it up as I go.

I'm 18 years old, I weigh about 140 lbs, and I am 5.5'6.

I never realized how much of an issue my weight was to me until I started noticing that I couldn't eat whatever the hell I wanted and get away with it like I used to. I could eat an entire house and not gain a pound when I was younger. All of that has changed. I freak out a little when I gain more than 5 lbs that just doesn't seem to go away. I am super self conscious about my stomach not being as flat as it used to be. I'm not bulimic at all. I skip meals mostly because I just forget to eat something or I just don't get hungry. I'm not sure what this is exactly, but I do know that it's bad.

What I don't need is someone telling me (indirectly) is that skinny is perfect and that I need to do whatever I can to stay that way.

I'm lucky enough to have a boyfriend that could care less if I gained a few pounds...I need someone like that around, I guess.

After the topic of thinspiration came up I decided to google it and I saw some of the discussions on the forum. I got to one part of the forum that gave advice on how to purge and eating certain foods as a marker so that you will know when to stop. All of this crap is very upsetting to me because the people seeking advice on these forums are teenagers that are like 14 years old. I don't know when this **** happened where the world became fixated on what a person should look like weight-wise...especially if you are a female.

I'm done with this and hopefully the next time I come to this thread the topic of discussion won't be about weight...

This is a fairly new issue for me and...idk maybe it's just me being sensitive.

You know, I will apologize, because my words were taken completely wrong. I meant no offense to anyone, in any way. I was just rambling, and trying to be funny. But it just failed to fly....what else can I say? I was posting about me fitting into a swimsuit next weekend, and it turned into THIS?

Georgie, I thought we were friends, and thought you knew that I almost always speak with a sense of humor ~intended~.

Niki, do you REALLY think that I "made up plans", so that I wouldn't have to answer. Wow. VERY lame. While you were once very understanding, with my dog's cancer, and I appreciate that still, I find you to be very judgmental. FWIW, I just got home, and am able to respond to "my supposed hiding".

Carrie, I have never had you on ignore. I ignore things that are bad for me, and you are definitely that. You're bad for me, and you're bad for the Ledge. At almost every Ledge plane crash that has ever happened, you've been right there....always the subliminal catalyst. That's your M.O. You've earned the Oscar in pot stirring. I would guess that you've always been on the precipice of permanent banning, but always slide, by 1%. Congrats. Well played. You are most definitely the master.

On that note, who needs this place? I did(or used to), and always wanted to maintain a presence here, since I DO care about quite a few people here, but I have no interest in this dog pack mentality, so have a good day!

AMEN. I can't really add anything to this.

I think most of us would be amazed at how many people have struggled with eating disorders. I had one for almost three years, and when I was really young.... 12-15. I'm now on the opposite side of the spectrum (emotional eater) but it's all the same-- people create emotional relationships with food in one way or another. For some people, it's to feign a sense of control over their lives. For others, it's a coping mechanism... the options are endless.

I don't know. I think this is just so, so much deeper than eating habits which is why people reacted so badly to HomerMcVie's posts.

Yeah, dancing was a huge part of how mine started up too. I was intensely into modeling and ballet which, as I'm sure you can guess, is an absolutely lethal combination for someone's self-confidence. I've always been tall and curvy; even if I weighed next to nothing, I'd have wide hips, etc... it's just how I'm built. However, that wasn't acceptable to the modeling industry OR the ballet world and people let me know it....

Anyway, I'm not even mad at Homer's comments simply because I don't take him remotely seriously. Sorry dude, but it's true. That being said, it DOES piss me off that young and/or insecure people on this board can read comments like that and think less of themselves.

homie, what I REALLY think if your so-called humour is you don't know when to stop. Your humour should have led to an apology with the first offense to mezz and georgie. But instead you slapped your comments around in the mud making an even bigger mess. Youre a child in apparent need of some growing pains. And your curiousity on the BMI? Im thinking had you known what theirs was would have released thoughts of 'what a fatass'.

Wow. I just got here. Not going to add anything to the argument, since Dave will just accuse me of ganging up on him. But my God, this is ugly.

I will say that this thread is proof that most Ledgies don't just gang up & blindly defend their friends. When people think you're ignorant or f*cked up, they will (and should be able to!) tell you, whether they are your friend or not. 10 people who disagree with one person does not mean they're ganging up on that person or that they're a clique. It might mean - just maybe - that the 1 person is in the wrong. Just a thought. Entertain it. And kudos to those of you who stood up for what you think is right, and those who shared your stories. :xoxo:

And Dave - you talk about not wanting negativity. You judging people & looking down on them for being overweight? Not exactly positive & loving. It's pathetic that you need to compare your body to others' bodies, or to boast about how many drunk young barhags find you attractive, to feel good about yourself. :distress: If that's your measure of success, then you're right - WINNING!

I haven't checked this thread lately and am late to the party, as usual.

I personally have not had an eating disorder, but I have witnessed their effects on close friends/family. I'm also a teacher, and I see so many young women struggling with eating disorders and self-confidence.

I f*cking hate it that society/the media teaches young girls that the single most desirable quality they can have is beauty, and by extension, beauty via thinness. Warped, disgusting, and oppressive. We've still such a long way to go.

You ARE worthy. Just as you are.

What blows my mind is that it just keeps getting WORSE. So much so that people think that body snarking is okay. It isn't okay. You can tell yourself whatever you want to to justify it if you're doing it but that doesn't make it okay. There is nothing inherently ugly about body fat. It's our judgement of it that is ugly.

And girls it really is true, you are worthy just as you are. We're human and we all suffer. Getting skinny doesn't make you happy. That is a myth, part of the Big Lie created and perpetuated to sell us products. If you pick up a magazine you may likely feel ugly and fat and then buy beauty and weight loss products!

Our culture needs to stop putting profits before people. At the very least we really need to educate our girls and women that NOTHING they see in a magazine image is real. Nothing.

What it says about the flying dreams I have is pretty spot on:

http://www.realmeaningofdreams.com/flying-dreams.html

I often have dreams of flying (which are always pleasant), yet as the dream progresses, it becomes harder and harder for me to get off the ground/maintain flight. Apparently this signifies a loss of control in your life, which is pretty true for me at the moment.

I have a recurring dream that my teeth just crumble in my mouth. It is recurring as well and progressive as in, "Ahh, this time I've lost more". On the other side of the coin I also have flying dreams occasionally. Those are much more fun.

Does anyone seriously feel like they have control over their life? If so, what percentage do you feel is in your control? If you don't mind sharing. I know I am more in control of mine than I think but I don't "feel" like I am. Getting there.

Likewise. So is it scary you can't come down? I wonder if being unable to land means the same thing as being unable to fly? IE: You don't have the control over your life you'd like.

I would argue most people (especially given the financial shape of the world currently) wish for more power & control over their lives. That's a pretty common sentiment, you're absolutely right. I do know some people who would honestly answer that they have full control over their lives, and they'd be correct in saying so. The list would be far longer of people wishing for more control, though.

I do, mostly. There are times (usually when my work/home life feels out of balance) when I feel less in control, but overall I feel like I have a good grasp right now. It took SO long to get here and there were many disappointments, traumas and lessons learned along the way. Feeling in control probably (at this point) comes from my really high self confidence in my ability to do pretty much anything I set my mind to. Does that make sense?

It's funny how people view therapists. Today, one of the intake specialists at work became SO shocked to hear why my teeth are so messed up. She could not believe that I had ever been poor, on my own at 17, etc. I guess I have finally come to "make it" part of the "fake it til you make it" school of life.

I have this exact same dream a lot - even during periods when I'm not going to be flying.

This dream gets more and more often if I have a flight booked.

I am pretty sure the reason for me is my terror of flying - I actually don't want the plane to take off, I prefer it trundling along the road!

I have just noticed this is post no. 777 for me - isn't this an aircraft? In the words of LB "isn't that weird?"

I think I'm about the same as you here, 50/50. I do feel like I'm on the verge of tipping the scales toward more control. Financially and career-wise I am there with the exception of debt. Personally, things need some work. I'm not doing poorly there either but I'd really like things to be better than just "fair" in the area of close friends and family. I still let too much garbage in. It's gotten much better though.

Yes it does, especially as girls and young women we spend way too much time trying to please others and neglect ourselves. However it is the relationship we have with ourselves that gives us the most happiness which in turn makes us more present and effective with others. Having a sense of self-efficacy is key.

It's funny how people view therapists. Today, one of the intake specialists at work became SO shocked to hear why my teeth are so messed up. Self-made people may make the best therapists. You've been there and done that. Kudos to you for rising above it all. You're an inspiration.

I once had a psychic tell me, "You are self made." It really hit home because she was absolutely right but I'd never given myself enough credit for it. I certainly didn't get where I am because I had supportive and loving parents, although I realize now that they did the best they could and what that really means.

This is key, in my opinion. I still let some garbage in. However, I notice that when I do, I feel like sh*t. It can be something as simple as engaging with a toxic relative on Facebook- as soon as I give in to it and let it in, I regret it. Which is good, right?! I mean good that it feels bad. There may have been a time when it felt comfortable.

We can create our own norms and decide what makes us comfortable. Looking at core beliefs, challenging them and then making the decision to think about things differently is very powerful (but certainly not easy). :xoxo:

I have that dream too. It's creepy as hell.

I feel like I'm pretty much in control of my life - I feel content & happy & try to surround myself with good people. I have a good stable job & am not in debt except for my home. My family life is good.

I don't know if I could quantify it with a percentage though. Also, there are things that I would like to control (mainly other people & their actions  ) but obviously I can't, so I'm always working on accepting that.

I hate people. I'm going to say this with the least amount of swearing possible.

A girl that I was really close with for 5 years just messaged me asking to “catch up” after we didn’t talk all year. I defriended her on Facebook quite some time ago. I haven’t spoken to her because she’s absolutely crazy… multiple drug addictions (coke being the most serious), 3 DUIs, numerous eating disorders… all before her 17th birthday. Worst of all, she would CONSTANTLY throw me under the bus to save her own ass, even if I didn't do anything. For instance-- I was DDing a friend home from San Francisco and she wanted to stop by this girl's house, so we did and said hello. This girl told her parents that I had drunkenly driven to their house and I get a text from her mom the next day saying, "if I ever hear that you're driving drunk around my daughter again, I'll call the police." Her mom is a whole different set of crazy ,but I digress...

So I kindly explained that I didn’t have any interest in talking to her but I genuinely hoped she was doing well. Her response?

“Sad to hear you’re still a judgmental fatass.”

a) Bitch, f*ck you.
b) I judge YOU after knowing you for years, after waking up at 4AM to save your ass from juvi, after watching you sabotage your own life time after time after time.
c) I’m extremely, extremely sensitive about the weight thing especially since I had an eating disorder quite some time ago… again, f*ck you.

Seriously I want to stab her right now. I've been having a really rough time with my self-image lately for a variety of reasons and this just made me want to revert back to my "old ways." It's hard enough to balance the line between healthy and unhealthy lifestyle changes when you've known the unhealthy side... I didn't need this too.

Ugh, thank you. I'm trying to channel all of my energy towards loathing her instead of my own self-loathing. So far, it's working pretty well but I'm still freaked out by how terrible she made me feel... I usually laugh at people who say things like that just to get under my skin, but she hit me at a really bad time. I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism so this **** isn't entirely my fault. And I'm so physically healthy (strong, etc) so it really shouldn't bother me but it does.

I messaged her back with 7 pictures of her doing something wildly illegal (lines of blow, driving with an open beer in her hand, etc) and said, "I've taken a screen shot of this conversation and I tracked down these pictures. I'm not a malicious person but if you say one ****ty thing to me ever again, you better believe that your mother will get copies, along with our trainers (for horses) and the college you're supposed to attend next year. After the years of crap you've put me through, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favor and back the f*ck off."

Oooooh dayum! U went there huh?! Leave her ugly ass alone. Don't say another word. She's not worth the trouble!

Dani, her response to you shows she's too dumb to think of anything else to say, so she resorted to something very simple (and probably something she *knew* would be painful for you to hear). You are one of the most intelligent, beautiful, and strong young women I've ever "met." Don't let one comment from someone like her bring you down. Her mother sounds like a piece of work too- apple doesn't fall far from the tree. :)

Grace, Brandon, Mimi, Jannie.... I love you guys. Mimi, I don't know anyone who can be entirely serious and helpful and yet crack me up at the same time.

I should clarify (now that I've sorta slept.... damn working full time) that 99% of the time, I am fairly happy with myself. I know she's too stupid to think of anything better to say and most importantly, I know that her words were only coming from anger -- she wouldn't have been reaching out to me like that otherwise. It's just irritating given the state of my life right now-- working so hard to improve myself physically, seeing no change after incredible lifestyle changes and finding out about the hypothyroidism.

I know it's not important in the grand scheme of things, just frustrating... this entire situation. Whatever. I woke up this morning to all of these great comments and I'm moving on. :wavey:

JTIS...

That I have 14 days left of school!!! I am SOOOO excited!! Once I graduate I am gonna try and get my license ASAP!!! Ashley's moms hairdresser said I could work in her salon once I'm out of school =D

I am SO sick of school and cant wait to get out on my own and work during the day and have my nights to myself!!!

After today I am SO sick of my job!!!! Can someone tell me how there can be 3 other ppl who do the same thing I do(but on diff days obvs) and NONE of them can work...1 has a Dr. appt(which is acceptable) one wasnt home when I called and the other had to study for finals...EXCUSE ME but my job consists of sitting on you BUTT doing nothing but watching tv or keeping yourself occupied...until the phone or doorbell ring...

The girl who had to "study" is the new girl and is a back up...how is someone suppose to be a back up if they dont BACK YOU UP?!?!? I've asked the new girl MULTIPLE times if she wanted to work for me and EVERY time she said she couldnt...except 1 time when my supervisor called her mom and asked her...She doesnt have any hours this month so obvs I thought it would be nice to offer her a couple...So I vented to the other office lady today because my supervisor(my aunt) was not in today. So the office lady is gonna talk to my aunt tmrw about it.

Like I said I cant wait to get out of there....

Jesus.

Dani, i have to agree with everyone else...**** HER! She obviously has her onw issues and making fun of you makes herself feel better. You dont need ppl like her in your life! I'm glad your doing so well with this and havent resorted back to your old ways <3 Stay strong!!! Your SO pretty and nice and idk why anyone could hate you!!!

Self-love and happiness are the best "revenge". Your weight is not your worth. These toxic people really know how to sting so there is no "shouldn't" feel some way when you feel that way. They know how to get us and they do get us when we leave an opening. The good thing is you talked about it and got support and information and continue making good choices for yourself. :xoxo: Please let this person go and don't look back!

I had forgotten how wonderful it is to lay in a dark room and listen to new music through headphones. It just makes for such an intensely atmospheric experience. This is how I absorbed each successive Fleetwood Mac album I acquired as a kid, and many nights I fell asleep listening to music through my headphones. I started doing this again recently, and I can't believe I ever stopped! What a wonderful way to unwind. :)

That sounds relaxing. Aside from just listening to the stereo playing, my relaxing is cool air conditioning and the remote control to the tv of late. I can't listen to music through headphones cause it makes my ears ring afterwards being so close and gives me the biggest headache. Must have sensitive eardrums or something : /

What were the exercises that killed you? I was going to try Zumba last night but it was way too nice out here so I went for a 4 mile walk instead. I also tried a Reformer Pilates DVD. I like the resistance tool, the exercises are good, but the trainer is annoying. As I get used to the routine perhaps I will put on music and put her on mute. :D

It's Group Power through World Gym - weights & barbells. One song/track is a general warm-up, next song is squats with the barbell on your shoulders, next song is biceps, next song is chest, etc. It's an hour - 10 or 12 tracks? I put on more weight than usual, and this version had more leg tracks than the other one did. The squats & lunges were what did me in. I mean, I don't mind doing them & I can totally keep up (yay! strength!) But I'm definitely feeling it today. And the trainer sucks - she's always putting on the wrong CD, or counting off-beat, or telling us the wrong name for a move. Good thing I've figured out wtf to do on my own or I'd be lost.

I have no interest in Zumba. I've watched a few classes while waiting for my class & it does nothing for me. I get why it's fun but I honestly have no desire. My cardio is eliptical at home 4-5 days a week. I take a spinning class once a week & I LOVE IT! The instructor rocks.

Zumba looks like fun to me. I want to do it for that reason and maybe to meet some good healthy people. I also like the fact that it is an all over body workout. Those are the most efficient. My gym brought back spinning and I may try that as well although it costs extra. Spinning doesn't seem like fun to me at all but I would like to at least try it before I decide that.

I've only ever watched or gotten into the Beverly Hills Housewives and don't care for the others but I look at all of them and to me it's the same women on every show with distorted faces and puffed up lips flaunting their superficial lifestyles and friendships with one another. But I will agree with what Kyle says about that lifestyle and it's fakeness. She seems the most down to earth, her and her sister Kim. Like they're still in touch with reality and how real people live. I guess my problem with these housewives shows is most of the people seem so damn phony with each other instead of just being real.

Gah, I am such a closet RHW freak. I have devoured each season/city with the sole exception of DC, which happens to be the only cast that has been canceled. In general, I find these women to be vapid and insufferably petty. But it's so much fun to watch for some reason. And I love the fact that they feature strong, independent working women (e.g., Vicky (OC), Lisa (BH), Phaedra (ATL)), as well as the typical gold-digging airheads (Alexis (OC), Kim (ATL), Sonja (NYC)). And I may be in the minority, but I miss Danielle Staub. :distress:

It's obvious that most of these women are not really friends in real life. But that's what makes them interesting- the friction, the tension, the resentment, etc. I would be bored to tears if everyone got along.

Welcome to the genre? The same could be said of every "candid" reality show since season 1 of the real World. It's all so wonderfully, revoltingly contrived. We can hate ourselves for loving this dreck, or we can choose to embrace it. I 've come to terms with my addiction to the lives of these fantastically vapid narcissists.

But seriously, you think KIM is down to earth!

Oh, don't get me wrong, the woman is batshirt crazy with all of her "everybody knows..." nonsense. But you can't deny the fact that she wears the Spanx, er, pants in the family and that she does not take crap from anyone or anything, including The Truth. Nobody should have to feel this way. :( I'm sorry the other friend you told abandoned you. A real friend won't. If you're this scared maybe you're just not ready. It's okay to wait until you're ready. It's not truly lying to your friend because of the weight of it. Don't worry too much about her response, be more concerned about coming out on your own time when you feel strong enough to do so. If she is a true friend she will understand. If she is a good friend she may already know. Hugs to you, this too shall pass!

Does she want a relationship with you, or just want one for you? My dear sweet Artemis(Mark), I too know exactly how you feel. I was once terrified to come out of the closet to my friends and my family. The funny thing is, is that they already knew and were just witing for me to come out and say so. I have lost a friend or two over the years because they could not accept me for who I am but in the long run it doesn't really matter. Friends will come and go from your life as you live your life. As for your parents, well that is a whole other story. Some parents may sound anti gay but then will change their way of thinking when they face the fact that their child is gay. Others will react badly. One never knows till they try. Good or bad reaction, it's worth the risk. You will be letting a major burden off your shoulders when you tell your truth.

I am 49 years old and came out to my friends and family at age 15 and came out publicly at age 19. As recently as last year I pretended to be straight around a certain group of gay hating men that I work for and then one day decided to tell them the truth and discovered that they suspected all along and they don't give a fukc that I am gay. In fact I actually get plenty of respect from them even since I admitted what I am.

It may not be worth the risk if it results in homelessness. A close friend was pulled out of college early and forced to go to a school they could commute from when they came out. This was so traumatic and my friend is still working through this over a decade later (although is past it now for the most part). Obviously there were other issues with that family. I just want to point out that being cautious is smart. My friend is out and happy now and is getting married soon!

Do what is right for you, Mark. You don't owe anyone any explanation of your sexuality. To thine own self be true. Please know that you are not alone. :xoxo:

Kudos to you Viv for your courage in the face of ignorance.

i'm a kyle fan:thumbsup:, couldn't stand camille at all~ I'm a Kyle & Kim fan as well!

That's why I started watching this show because I usually could care less about these reality shows. I love alot of their movies they did when they were young. Kyle was 'Lindsay' in the original classic 'Halloween'. They both got to work with the legendary Bette Davis, too.

As for Kim, I feel bad for her, she has been thru alot as an adult. She was on the phone with her bf/husband in 1991 when he was gunned down in cold blood talking to her on a pay phone, sorry but that has to effect a person.

I don't feel for Camille at all. She started crap left & right and to fire Kyle's husband was a low blow!

I hope there will be a second season but I hear Kim won't be on it & I don't blame her.

The one BH housewife I could not stand was Adrienne. What a snoozefest. Yes, she's got more money than the Pope, but that's all she's got going for her. And it's family money/business, yet she fancies herself to be some kind of pioneering, savvy business woman. Puhlease.

I think Camille was misunderstood. Yes, she's completely out of touch and lacking self awareness, but in the end I felt sorry for her, especially the way Kelsey Grammer made her suck it up and keep up appearances for the Tony Awards. Yes, she walked away with a huge chunk of his fortune, but for the rest of her life, she will carry the permanent scar of being rejected in the most horrifying, public manner. And in the Camille vs. Kyle battle, I am on Camille's side. Kyle is a busybody yenta who is always right and never owns up to her lapses in judgment. She needs to be knocked down a peg or three.

I thought Camille was the one who said she wasn't coming back. Kim needs to be on RHW to help nurture her comeback.

The entire original cast is returning--a mistake for Kim, I think. As well-meaning as she was, by the end of the season she came off as a sad drunk, to state it bluntly. I don't think she can present in a way beneficial to herself personally or professionally. Much of that is her sister's doing and I'm always surprised at how many people claim to adore both Kim and Kyle--both came off well in the beginning but quickly destroyed each other, in my view.

Ed, you're killing me here!

You counted Lisa an "independent working woman," but not Adrienne? Don't get me wrong--Lisa might be my favorite housewife of all time, but arranging flowers at her husband's restaurants, bought with family money, does not an independent businesswoman make! Adrienne wasn't exactly self-made either (nor did either of them claim to be), but did seem to work very hard.
Actually, I think Adrienne may have been the savviest housewife ever, with the possible exception of Bethenny. She was there to brand herself and earn publicity for the family, and handled herself with aplomb. I don't think any directors saw Kim Richards and thought, "AHA! She seems stable enough to be my next star!" Adrienne, though, may be the first housewife to make it through a season without saying anything offensive or threatening. Too reasonable to be a favorite of mine, but no denying she played the game well.

Not often does one come across a Camille supporter. I'm...intrigued? Let's go with intrigued.;)
She lost me in episode 1 when she admitted to having four nannies for her 2 children, both of whom are school aged. Watching a soft-core porn star get high and mighty about Faye Resnick's Playboy spread was breathtakingly hypocritical, but it's her shoddy parenting that made her a serious contender for the most reviled reality star of all time.

Here, here! Specifically a Bravo Reality thread (although the RHW shows are syndicated on other networks around the world). I want to live in a reality where scowling Australian lesbians do salon takeovers and Isaac Mizrahi waxes poetically about "color stories." 24 hours a day. I just can't get enough.

Yeah, Kim did not come off well at all, especially when Kyle read her the riot act in the limo. She went there. Kim has some demons alright, but Kyle's house is not perfectly clean either. She has serious anger management issues. Also, maybe there is some potential with that English man that Lisa introduced to Kim (where is that barf icon again?).

J'adore Lisa! She treads that fine line between English haughtiness and earthiness splendidly. Well, I knew Lisa was a child actress who then went on to open and operate a number of high end eateries with her husband. But I didn't know that she was old money. In any case, she comes across as someone who has it all- career, money, glamor, looks, a close-knit family, etc., yet has worked hard for it and appreciates what she has. I don't get the sense that all of this entitlement was handed to her on a Missoni teaset tray.

On the other hand, Adrienne has the gall to look you in the eyes (with her fixed, frozen, somewhat cross-eyed expression) and declare (with her plumped duck bill lips) that she, who is married to the plastic surgeon, has not had any work done. And even though she doesn't get sucked up into the petty drama of the other housewives (boo!), she becomes quite the bully when it comes to her hopelessly henpecked husband and her kids. Of all the "characters" on the show, she is the one who shows no vulnerability about anything, which makes her something other than endearing. I'd heard that Jillian Barberi was considered as a BH housewife. I so wish she could replace Adrienne Malouf.

I never said that Camille was some kind of vessel of abstract virtue. I just said that I felt sorry for her. Also, despite her lack of common sense or humility, she seems to have the best of intentions, which is certainly more than I can say about Kyle. Regarding Faye Resnick, I think Camille was legitimately offended by some of the things Faye was saying about guests at Camille's own dinner party and was trying to let it be known that such behavior was not welcome in her house. And if I'm not mistaken, Faye was a guest of Kyle, who was stirring up shizz to start with. Plus, soft core porn is one thing. Spreading yourself as if in the midst of a gynecological exam for a magazine is another magnitude of tartiness. Faye deserved every hit she was taking.

In terms of the most reviled reality star, I'll match you and raise you one with Alexis "Jesus Barbie" Bellino. All at once she gives women, Christians... and the entire human race a bad name.

Eh, I can see your point, but they actually struck me as having a pretty functional marriage in spite of the bickering. I think he handled it well, and at the reunion they looked like two people who genuinely enjoy each other. Mileage varies, I guess.:)

Totally disagree. Faye may be a creep for 50 other reasons, but posing for Playboy doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me:shrug:
Camille's Skinemax past doesn't particularly bother me, but the hypocrisy did. She should know better than to slut-shame.

Ah, something we can agree on!
There are moments when I feel bad for her--she's dumb as a box of hair and annoyingly smug about her position as the blow-up doll of Taliban Jim, but I do believe that she tries hard to be a decent person.
But then she goes and says things like, "The problem with liberal America is that women think they can do anything in this day and age, including running for president." And I hit the pause button on my DVR and take a few moments to collect myself, lest I throw things at the screen.:distress:

So I've owned quite a bevy of sporty cars in my life... 2 DeLoreans, a Chrysler Crossfire, 2 Mitsubishi Eclipses (1 convertible, 1 coupe), a Mustang GT, and an assortment of others... but nothing has ever brought me as much pleasure as my lowly Vespa scooter!

My local scooter club was invited tonight to an advance screening of Larry Crowne... a movie starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. It's about a guy who was laid off, bought a scooter to conserve money, got roped into a scooter club, and in the process began really living life for the first time. I totally identified with all these themes in the movie.

Buying a scooter is without a doubt one of the BEST things I've ever done for myself. Scootering takes all the dread out of commuting and running errands, and just makes them plain fun! And the sense of community in a scooter club is like nothing else I've ever seen. It's just fantastic... like a big family with all the fun and none of the drama. Life really is all about the little things.

Welcome to the room, Sara ;) My family has little income, so we're used to scraping by. I've had it my whole life, so money has very little significance to me. Of course I know it's important for food, bills etc, but beyond that I could take or leave it. God. I'm such a Hippie lol.

When we decided we wanted to buy Vespas, my boyfriend sold his car & we bought our scooters from the proceeds. We still have my car for the times we need to go out of town, haul big stuff, etc. Many people buy scooters for economic reasons (they're affordable, they get 75-100 mpg +, you can park them absolutely anywhere, etc), but most folks soon realize that's not even the best part of owning them. They're just plain fun! And being in a scooter club is just icing on the cake. We organize rides to swimming holes, to breweries, restaurants, and festivals. It's just a ton of fun! :woohoo:

We got told out hour cuts would be for about a month and now the company's announced that it's going into administration if they don't find a buyer within this month. Holy shnit. I have never seen more people looking at one thread in my life. Haven't popped the hood on the one in question, and I have no plans to because reality television doesn't interest me in the slightest. To me it's nothing more than an advertisement campaign for loneliness, fed by the congenitally depressed. The kind of people you come across in the supermarket licking an unpeeled Banana whilst maintaining "I went out with Andy Warhol once, you know. Didn't care for his wig. But he made excellent Soup. Campbells, I believe he called it. Had an interesting after-taste of paint and tears". I can't help but find it bloody ironic that so called "reality" television is as staged as the rest of the content on the boob tube, conspired of fakery and personality-less individuals assuming that they must be musical because they have hundreds of CDs and once saw Cliff Richard in concert (the musical equivalent of a fart in the bath). But that's just one person's opinion.
