See, there's another reason why I really adore LB. I know I don't know the man personally, but when I see how close he is to all these nieces of his and all the accounts of his adoration of him children...I respect him so much more. It's totally a bonus along with his incredible good looks, but it's a bonus I like being there. Which is why I'm such a pro LB guy when people like to rag on him as being a "jerk" (in other more provocative terms) towards everyone. By all accounts, he may not always be a ray of sunshine, but his family members appear to adore him and, having met him several times, I can vouch what a doll he is to his fans. :nod:

Thanks for bringing these little accounts up Michele. I remember reading an article written for some paper in California by one of his nieces (not Cory) and she mentioned how at some New Kids on the Block reunion show she heard them cover Fleetwood Mac and was shocked, mainly because of her childhood love for them + her uncle was in the band.

You said exactly what I feel. It bugs me when people judge him on what they heard or read in CAH's book ( or Mick's ), and just go by those dubious accounts. Like you said, he's not perfect, and probably not always nice, but, he sure has a LOT of friends and family that think he's amazing. I really love the photos and videos taken with fans too. I don't know of any other performer who is sooooo accessible to their fans. I mean on stage, when he plays right to the cameras and video cameras, and talks and jokes with everybody. What a doll.

I like what Nico and Lindsfan have both said. I don't like when people jump to conclusions about what Lindsey is like, just because of what books have said. Even if some of it did happen, pretty much everyone in those scenarios was either drinking or using drugs, so you can't base what someone does while high on what they would do if substances were not involved.

Edmonton and Calgary are both in Alberta, yup. Manitoba pretty much has Winnipeg (or Winterpeg) and Saskatchewan. It's the prairies!

I think it's funny how in each phase, he looks like different, but you can still tell it's Bucky, in some cases, he doesn't even look like the same person, and yet somehow, he always manages to look good in each appearance phase. I dunno many people that could do that, and he does it well.

He did look good in Oh Diane, but as for Today Show he shoulda worn a real coat dammit! Take my word for it, NY gets cold in the winter, and wearing a leather jacket with your shirt nowhere near buttoned is gonna cause you not to perform as well. Well, let's be thankful about 2 things:

1.He wasn't stupid enough to wear something like from the Japan show

2.He still managed to look good there.

I must say that I agree with that. I mean, it is a great song in it's own right and still my fave Mac tune, but it hasn't fared well with Lindsey's aging. Personally, I say that it should be either retired or tinkered a bit to give it a new flavor.

Granted, others may not feel the same way we who are more familiar with LB's vocal abilities do. I have brought friends to his show who feel the absolute highlight was that song, so it isn't an easy choice to just eliminate completely. I guess he could, as Miss Ladyloki mentioned, rework it in some way. He's pretty good at doing that, though, so I'm not nervous. I mean, I kind of prefer the more original Never Going Back Again to this new one he's stretching out and I'd sort of like to hear the original Big Love live at least once in my lifetime. But I can't be too picky I guess.

Nothing wrong with being a little picky, though! :) Of course, I'm thrilled that Lindsey is still playing live but there's nothing wrong with voicing our opinions as fans.
The GYOW ending guitar parts are still great and I can see where a casual fan would feel that's the 'highlight' of the show. The vocal definitely needs some sort of an adjustment. I'm not quite sure how he could change it, but keep the guitar part the same. Maybe Lindsey doesn't know either and that's why he keeps the same version of GYOW.
I am also someone who would love to hear the original version of 'Big Love' live! It's fine acoustically but it would be great to hear how he'd do the original.

Come to think of it, I wonder if all those rockers with amazing hair back then (including Lindsey and other guys such as Roger Daltrey) used the same shampoo. They all seem to just let it go wild, unlike the hair bands that are worse than my friend Sam with hair (and believe me, he's worse than a girl with his hair, especially when I had to wait 20 minutes for him to get his fauxhawk perfect once. Seriously).

As for Go Insane period, it was probably enough hairspray to choke a horse. :laugh:

-GYOW is a highlight for a lot of people, casual or not casual fans, and I still like to hear it live, since it's one of the very best Fleetwood Mac songs.
-Ok, Stevie's voice have changed. Well, then edit, i agree, but i still like her voice, and enjoy her performances (except maybe for Gypsy, and sometimes Rhiannon, even if it's not the same when you hear it live, for real, and when you watch a live video! Rhiannon live in 2009 blew my mind!)
-I can't bear I'm so Afraid anymore (but same comment as Rhiannon here...Watching Lindsey doing the solo RIGHT in front of me was beautiful). I'd rather hear Tango in the Night.

Nice Tango in the Night pic there. Even though it was the 80's and the clothes were tacky, they did look very good then.

Yeah that is a good pic with how it shows how he really looks. Now, it just needs to be in color so we could see what his eyes look like without lighting issues.

EDIT: I spoke to Marissa (LikeAWillow), who had met Lindsey a few times, and she said this pic here (despite the fact there should be a caption saying "O RLY?") is the closest representation of his eyes you'll see or something like that.

I love that pic as well, though I think that particular focus would make anyone's lines and bags more pronounced- even someone a lot younger than LB. But he's got such amazing features that you have to appreciate no matter young or old.

I don't think he really uses the Turner all that much for studio work, but they definitely work for him in a live setting. The "Oh Diane" video was kind of a shocker showing him "Playing" (since we know that video was totally lip sync'ed) a big ol' Gretch.

It's the same thing as with Eric Clapton using a Strat...he & the Stratocaster, since 1970 have become almost synonymous. The rare times (i.e. The Dylan 30th Anniversary concert) when he uses a Les Paul, he almost looks out of place playing one, even though that was his main guitar back in his John Mayall & Cream days.

Lindsey & the Turner...they just go together.

Yeah, I've come to associate the Turner with him, like how I associate Jimmy Page with his sunburst Les Paul (if I could get anywhere on my dad's old acoustic six-string, I'd love to get a smaller version of that one) or Slash with his Les Paul Custom (I think that's what it is). Maybe it has to do with me liking Les Pauls a lot (a lot of my favorite guitarists either use it, or in Eddie Van Halen's case in regard to Frankenstrat, the guts of one), but I always thought Lindsey looked really cool using one, and now that I think about it, it did match his fuzzy appearance at the time quite well, but the Turner nhas matched him very well post-haircut.

You know, that does sound right. I heard, after the distaster involving a phoney version of the band that was created by their manager when they took a break after the guitarist was fired for having an affair with Mick's wife while on tour, Mick and John became the managers (at least that's what Mick said in Tusk doc I think), and with that, they probably wanted things their way, and with that, they wanted Lindsey to use a pick.

His eyes totally match whatever is in the cup! I always loved that. At 1:22, it's not Mick, but I think the guy is supposed to 'represent' him. Looks like LB was trying to say that being in the Mac was like being 'imprisoned'. :laugh:

I really never thought of Holiday Road having any special meaning. Even though the lyrics have greatly improved on the last two solo albums, Lindsey's lyrics for his past solo songs seemed more like afterthoughts. Like he just threw them together to go along with the great instrumental he just wrote.

I heard once that he thought of his solo work as an opportunity for him to play mad studio scientist and do cool instrumental work, but he probably thought "Oh yeah, I gotta put in some of those damn lyrics" and just threw a bunch of stuff in at the last minute.

I've actually heard some B-sides from Tango in the Night that were mostly instrumentals. Is it just me, or since TITN was originally gonna be his solo album, that those songs were works-in-progress that never got lyrics?

I don't think the lyrics have any meaning and the prolonged dog barks at live concerts just bring them down further. But I think the video is about more than a vacation. To me, it talks about the rat race as a whole, just being a cog in a wheel. Mechanical obedience. Really, it goes along with "Wrong" to me.

Now I can see it. My suspicions were right: i had just gone gray and like his eyes, it's sometimes hard to see with the lighting (and with eyes, meant them coming up much darker than they actually are, as in I was convinced they were brown for a long time).

I guess the Taylor's Stevie moon must've been ause she was an actual singer-songwriter and not some Lad Gaga clone. Of course, she wore it at the Grammys, so Stevie didn't quite know that she'd butcher Rhiannon on stage.

As for Lindsey's Stevie moon, I bet she gave it to him. Then again, I heard a story once that on one of Stevie's ring fingers there's a simple gold band that was given to her from Lindsey as a sign of commitment, so I guess that must be her repaying him for it.

Maybe it wasn't all that warm on the beach. I think his look in that picture is extremely sexy. I like that Lindsey was this surfer/swimmer guy from California who plays guitar the way he does. It makes him seem cooler to me.:shrug:

Maybe I'm too used to New York beaches, where you do wear swimsuits all the time, the only people near swimable (North Shore beaches are too rocky) beaches are rich and snobby, and it can get quite crowded there, so maybe that's it.

I heard he did way back in his fritz days. heard he had trouble fingerpicking that kinda guitar back then, so they shoved him on bass.

A so-so bassist is a great guitarist...reminds me of how Steven Tyler was, at one time, a drummer in his pre-Aerosmith bands and Aeromsith's earliest days till Joey Kramer joined, but who knew he'd be such a great lead singer?

In the meantime, anyone know what his middle name is? Cause I need to yell it out, like right now.

I guess Lindsey was just going to end up the child to give the "unique" name to. I bet now that Buckingham was an Anglicanization of that funky name right there. Kinda reminds me of this Jewish girl my mom went to school whose last name was Robinson. Turns out it was an Anglicanization of Rabinowitz, which could easily be possible for Lindsey's name. Considering his father was growing up in a time when many immigrants were coming into the country (and people were flipping out over it), he probably changed his name so it'd sound less "ethnic".

EDIT: I Googled Bucky's family tree and i found out that they've been there since the colonies in the 17th century and there's a whole British site devoted to it, but of course, they had to spell Liddy's name with an A (like Lindsay Lohan): http://www.buckinghams.co.uk/

These are awesome! I can see you like Mirage best, which is a good era before the horror of Go Insane.

EDIT: As for that Grammy pic, it goes to how that CAH was wrong again: he's definitely wearing way more than a little eyeliner. Hell, he looks like she dragged him to one of the makeup counters at Macy's and told 'em to make him look good for an award show.

I'm not gonna lie: as much as I dislike Mirage (except for Gypsy and a few other tunes, I just find it really boring) and as little as I've heard of OOTC (maybe a few songs from YouTube, but that's it), he looked fine during those eras.

I never knew you didn't like Mirage! As for OOTC, you really should pick up a copy. A lot of fans think that's his best solo album.

Yea, except for like a few tunes, I generally found Mirage to be a bit boring, but that's just me. And yeah, I'll definitely check out OOTC. I saw Street of Dreams on YouTube and it was a really good song. Reminded me of Go Insane acoustic in many ways.

You should be able to see the other OOTC videos online too. They're all pretty good.

About drooling :blob1:...we've been drooling over Lindsey's swimming pool pixs for years!!! What a skinny dude! I dreamed I fed him beef stew to fatten him up!!! It didn't work! Does anyone know why he is thin??? :shrug: Hope he isn't sick! God Love Him!!!

I think the skinniness is most likely from him just being a naturally thin person (yes, they do exist) or mabe even having a problem similar to Roger Daltry's (he has trouble gaining weight), but I like this one theory someone had: drinks nothing but beer, no food, burns off the calories through playing guitar, having sex, and swimming.

As for the OOTC vids, they're good, but I thought that bit in Wrong where he comes running in looking like Ben Stiller in a bandanna and thn comes out of the bathroom like Elvis was funny. And now I shall watch more!

EDIT: They have the Slow Dancing vid too. I can live without the hair, but good vid too. BTW, is he singing about what I think he's singing about? Like maybe "I go up fast and I come down slow" sounds a bit like "Won't you lay me down in the tall grass and let m do my stuff"?
