I kinda set that as a New Year's resolution, to be quite honest. I needed to know the mystery of uncut men, damnit! So I've started exercising daily. Been walking, hiking, and/or swimming for about a month. I'd just become too sedentary and soft through the middle. Plus, warm weather is right around the corner in Austin, and I want to look better with my shirt off. Anyway, a totally unexpected side effect of the daily exercise is my 'drive' has shot through the ROOF. It's like I'm a freaking teenager again! :lol: I'm starting to crave different foods and drinks, too. I guess exercising stirs up all sorts of random chemicals in the body! :shrug:

It has always taken the perfect exercise regimen, in order for me to ~complete~ my workout. And let's face it...a workout that isn't complete, just isn't satisfying. Other than playing guitar and keyboards, my left hand is pretty much worthless, in the rest of my life.

Getting old does suck, indeed! However, I've always been embarrassed by my body. When I was about 8, a neighbor girl was going through pictures, with my Mom... and my Mom showed her one, of me as a naked baby, and I was HORRIFIED. The thought of her seeing my little baby weiner, just embarrassed me, beyond belief.:o

And now, even....I don't know. Even though I'm considered thin now, I'm still embarrassed ~somewhat~ to be shirtless in the daytime. Last summer, there were many pool parties at my house, with most people being 18-25. My pool was in half the young people's Facebook profiles, in this town!:laugh: But I look back, at all those pics, and I realize, the difference that just time has made on my body. Even if I weigh the same as them, our bodies are....just different.

Question - can years of weighing considerably more than this, CHANGE the size of my ribcage? Because I feel like my ribcage is too large for the rest of my body, now. And if it did indeed change that, I wonder if years of being thinner, could allow it to return....?

These are the deep issues, that I ponder.;)

And btw, I've been VERY horny, the past couple of days.:p

I think I must be the opposite of you and Homer. I was a chunky redheaded kid growing up... and have always been super self conscious about my body. Anyone who was ever a fat kid will always have those nagging feelings hanging over them as an adult. But I actually seem to be getting more comfortable with going shirtless with age. I don't know, there's just something wholly liberating about laying on a rock completely naked during the middle of the day with a beer in your hand. Austin's nude beach is gorgeous, too... and the people are very bohemian and friendly. I think the nudity thing is just an extension of the laid back nature of this town, and it's beauty.

Well, it sounds like you and Homer were both chunksters at one point, which is totally the opposite of me. Not that I'm boasting, but I've always had what most people considered to be a really great physique. Accordingly I've always maintained certain standards for myself. So what sucks for me is when I *think* I am starting to spread out or get a little soft here and there. If I am in anything less than what I consider to be my best physical condition ever, I feel like wearing a burkah. Accordingly, if I am looking particularly tired or run down, i.e., aged, I will not leave the house, or I will leave the house under protest wearing sunglasses. I know in a city of millions, nobody gives a flying fig newton about what I look like. But it's just part of the craziness in my head- a quasi body dysmorphic disorder. When I see those recent pictures of Arnold Schwarzeneggar wearing a speedo and looking like a melted candle, I become horrified- not because he looks all that terrible, necessarily. Rather, it's because of his startling fall from physical perfection and what a toll it must take on his psyche. I feel really, really bad for him.

I am pretty sure your skeleton is your skeleton and that there is nothing you can do about it unless you are Cher and you have some of your ribs removed. I knew a guy who was fairly thin but he had the widest mothering hips ever, which I think could be possibly the worst thing that could happen to a guy; it was all hip bone. No matter how much weight you lose, you're not going to remodel your skeleton. So just be thankful it's your rib cage and not your hips!

It's really amazing, the BAGGAGE that goes along with having sex with women. A friend of mine told me that he almost never has sex with his wife, because of the other "paybacks" that are involved. That if they screw, that he'll be paying for it, for at least a week. And it's just not worth it.

It's strange to some people and not to others. It's no big deal, I was just clarifying what I thought on the subject.
