Demo/Live Performance Requests

[SapphireSister]

I started this thread so if you have a certain demo or live song you want someone to post you don't have to start an entire new thread for it (unless you want to). I'll go first:
Can someone please post a high qualiy version of Storms from Unleashed? I found it in the Rumours forum but the link was expired. Any show is fine. Thanks!

[nailatixela]

Here's one from the Sunrise Florida show. 4/23. My lists says it's A quality, so here you go:

[mikebise]

Wow! That was going to be my first request!!!!!!

Here's mine then:

"Gypsy" from Houston 1986, the first show of the Rock A Little tour (and the only time she performed it in 1986!).

Thank you :xoxo:. Storms was my biggest treat of the tour. I saw it twice and cried both times. Storms is a very special song to me and I never thought I'd see it live! Someone mentioned it wasn't that well received by audiences (probably because a lot of them didn't know it) but I didn't even notice or care for that matter because it was for me .

No problem. What shows did you go see? I really enjoyed it too. At my show in Philly she changed it up and said "so I try to face the answers now" and she delivered that line with such passion and really hit it out of the park!

[SapphireSister]

Ha ha great minds think alike!
Here's mine then:

"Gypsy" from Houston 1986, the first show of the Rock A Little tour (and the only time she performed it in 1986!).
Let me open the vaults and check for you.

Los Angeles and Anaheim and I was on the floor in front of her for both! I purposely didn't check the setlist or read any reviews before the first show because I wanted to be surprised but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought she'd do Storms.
I was born in Philly by the way ;).

[mikebise]

"What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done For You?"

Any awesome quality out there?

[StreetAngel95]

i need "Destiny Rules" live sooo badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i started a thread a little while ago about the very first show on the Say You Will Tour - anybody have audio?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

[fleetwoodtrick]

There's audio and DVD of that show on Throwndown.net. I'd download it and post the audio, but I'm kind of done with torrents because they really effed up my laptop.

[vivfox]

Wow! That was going to be my first request!!!!!!

Here's mine then:

"Gypsy" from Houston 1986, the first show of the Rock A Little tour (and the only time she performed it in 1986!).

She performed Gypsy in Philadelphia in 1986 when I saw her in April or May. The song was extended(like they do with Edge of 17) so she could walk across the stage and collect flowers and gifts. I will never forget it!

[SapphireSister]

I have 4 RAL shows but Houston is not one of them. Sorry :(

[Sanne2]

Anyone have a really good version of "Ooh Baby"?

[StreetAngel95]

There's audio and DVD of that show on Throwndown.net. I'd download it and post the audio, but I'm kind of done with torrents because they really effed up my laptop.

i know! Torrents are slowing up my laptop too! :(It sucks! and i really really want Destiny Rules live cause it's one of my favorites...

[SapphireSister]

Anyone have a really good version of "Ooh Baby"?
That was going to be my next request! I've never heard of there being a good one out there. Too bad because it's one of my favorites. The one I have is pretty bad.

[David]

My wants & needs:

1. "Destiny" from Arco Arena in Sacramento August 1994
2. "Rhiannon" from the Forum in L.A. October 1983
3. "Jimmy Come On Back" in kick-ass quality

Please satisfy these wants & needs. Thank you!

[AliceLover]

"Say You Love Me" and "Sara" from the November 79 Largo, MD show. MP3

[nailatixela]

Viv, do you happen to remember when in the setlist she did it? I have the May Philly boot and it isn't on there. The boot that is floating around is complete, but if she put Gypsy in the same place that she did on the first night of the RAL tour, it would of still made it on the boot.

I know it sounds like I don't believe you. Please don't take it that way! I just think it's so strange and interesting and want to hear more from you.

[mikebise]

I'd love to hear another "Gypsy" from 1986 as well!

The one Stevie performed opening night in Houston was SO wild, and I was disappointed that it was immediately dropped and not performed in the next shows in Dallas and Austin. And "Sara" was dropped soon after that after a few more shows.

I used to have the Houston '86 "Gypsy" on cassette but cannot find it.

[Dark Angel]

Here you go. :)

As always, thanks so much!!!

[Taurus19]

I was born in Philly by the way ;).

Philly here, too!

[Taurus19]

I have a poor quality version of this and would love to hear it in better quality. Stevie's vocals sounded so amazing and she seemed like she was possesed by how passionately she belting out each line.

[Sanne2]

This is the best quality one that I have.

That's definetely an upgrade, thanks!

This subject was discussed in another thread last year. Not all bootlegs are complete. Some are missing one or two songs. Some have songs listed in the wrong order. This is a case of where we have one tape of this show in circulation, but Gypsy is not on that tape so some people have assumed I must be wrong. In the words of LB, "I know I'm not wrong." I saw 5 RAL shows and all of them hold some special memories for me. I remember Tom Petty being a suprise guest at this show. That was not announced B4 the show like is always done today.
Do you want to read all my memories of this show?

[mikebise]

"Gypsy" from Radio City Music Hall 1983.

"Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?" Houston 1986.

 Don't get so defensive. I said don't take it like I don't believe you. And I understand the concept of bootlegs not always being 100% accurate.

Do you remember where it was placed in the set? Or what did Tom do at the show? Did he play on Gypsy?

Mike, is the Gypsy I posted in my Best of the Wild Heart Tour thread the one you are looking for? It's from the 12th NY show, not the 13th. Don't know which one you are looking for.

"Gypsy" from Radio City Music Hall 1983.

"Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?" Houston 1986.

I have Gypsy 83 Radio City. Do you need it?

[mikebise]

Either NYC 83 version of "Gypsy", whichever is best sound quality and wildness of Stevie! I have both on cassette, but don't remember which one I like better...

[mikebise]

I'm downloading the 12th, so let's do the 13th, too!!!!

Another request:

The BEST 2001 version of "Planets of The Universe" from the TISL Tour!

These are some of my most treasured shows because 2001 was the year I became a true Stevie freak! I practically peed in my pants when I heard she was doing Bombay Sapphires .

I have the Detroit show which is the best one and also the Santa Barbara show which is the night she lost her voice. What do you want?

[mikebise]

"Bombay Sapphires"

"Rhiannon"

"Planets of The Universe"

"Gold Dust Woman"

"Outside the Rain" AND "Dreams"

Anything that sounds spectacular!

Thanks, Dark Angel! From when is this recording??

[mikebise]

I'll request, for Christopher (since I am unable to upload my stuff right now) :

"Affairs of The Heart" ~ demo for OSOTM

And add a few of my own:

"Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" ~ NOT an alternate mix!!! An actual ALTERNATE vocal from Stevie, please!!!! I have 27 MIXES of the song, and ALL have the SAME Stevie vocal. Any TRUE outtake vocals for this one?

"Love Don't Fail Me Now" ~ Clear, if possible

"Impossible Task" ~ same as above

"What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done For You?" ~ Can I get an upgrade?

"Forest of The Black Roses" ~ Alternate, softer vocal.

"Destiny" ~ 6-minute outtake from The Wild Heart

"Battle of The Dragon" ~ CLEAR versions with Stevie & Tom

"Greta" ~ Rock A Little demo

So many great upgrades!!!

How about some stuff from The Other Side of The Mirror?

"Rooms on Fire" ~ Actual demos, not alternate mixes from the Masters. I had one demo with lots of different lyrics.

"No Questions Asked" ~ Keyboard/drum machine demos.

"Two Kinds of Love" ~ Stevie & Rupert (don't care about solo Rupert)

"Alice" ~ Demo snippet or longer if anyone has it!

"Tragedy of One's Own Soul" ~ Does anyone have this in perfect sound? (Not "Lily Girl").

"The Mix-Down" ~ I know it's 1991, but need an upgrade!

[SapphireSister]

Would LOVE to hear these! I've never heard of any demos of ROF circulating. Do you have any of the alternate mixes you can post? Live versions of ROF from the OSOTM tour rule! I love the intro...

[SapphireSister]

Totally off topic but since it's my thread I can high-jack it :p. Jim Ladd still has a show on radio station KLOS here in Los Angeles. Who remembers those awesome interviews he did with Stevie in the 80's? I have some of them on CD. I should post one of these days. They are classic.

[mikebise]

Can you separate out "Are You Mine?" from 1983 from Jim's Innerview??? Post it separately from the rest of the interview? :)

Yes, that is the one! So I'm not crazy, thank you!
I'm not a fan of the finished product, but this demo, with all the high notes, is simply divine.
And now I'm going to be a spoiled little bitch and ask if someone has a clearer version than this one because it sounds a bit muffled to me?

[Dark Angel]

This one has the exact same lyrics, but sounds less 'sped up'.

DA, the quality of "The Mix-Down" is incredible, as is the "No Questions Asked" piano demo!

More requests:

This is from a 1981 interview with a Boston radio station. Stevie, Lori and Sharon sing Edge of 17 over the phone live to the song to the DJ. The entire song! Great interview.

Dark Angel, I praised you on the other thread for the wonderful "Rock A Bye Baby" ~ and now I do so again! Thank you!!!

Such GREAT upgrades you have ~ thanks for sharing with us!

Since you seem to have so much Rock A Little material, would you happen to have a demo of "Rock A Little"? It's listed as having Mick on drums. Not the extended version on the UK 12-inch, and not the song-writing session, but an actual alternate version of "Rock A Little".

I got this "Rock A Little" demo on the same CD as "Rock A Bye Baby" and "Night Gallery". Maybe you have it?

"Something Exquisite" upgrade?

I'm SO into Rock A Little right now!!! That era was so full of sadness and dark energy and beautiful songs.

[thatgirlwasme]

Thanks for all of the posts! Does anyone have any early live recordings of Silver Springs? I have one, but the quality isn't great. I remember hearing an awesome one at some point, but I can't find it in my files. Thanks!

"Blue Lamp"/"It's Not A Dream" ~ Synth & Drum Machine demo

"Mabel Normand"

I think Maureen is the person I bought a ton of CDs (China Doll, The Early Years, Mirror Ball, Night Gallery, etc.) from back in the 90's . Did she use a screen name like Devilwmn or something like it?

Unfortunately, most of those CDR's have lost all of the encoding and are now unplayable.

[mikebise]

Yes, that was Maureen. It was amazing the amount of Stevie stuff she got from her source.

I still keep trying to remember what were on those old CDs, as some stuff I've still not seen circulating recently. Does anyone still have the track listings of Maureen's old CDs?

[nicksphan]

I still have all the CD's. Unfortunately, like I mentioned, most of them have lost their data and are no longer playable.

Here are track listings for the two I have accessible at the moment. I will get the rest out of storage to see what is playable and once I can figure out how to post them, I will.

The Early Years: Knocking On Doors, If You Were My Love, Bella Donna, Cecilia, Rose Garden, Amber, Leather and Lace, The Highwayman, Think About It, After The Glitter Fades, If You Ever Did Believe, Sister of the Moon, Sara, Silver Springs, Gypsy

China Doll: Kind of Woman, Mistaken Love, 3 Birds of Rhiannon, Forest of the Black Roses, Bella Donna, China Doll, Sara, Fireflies, Sleeping Angel, Violet and Blue, If Anyone Falls, Gypsy, Outside the Rain, How Still My Love

And Mike, you're right, there was stuff on Maureen's CD's that I have not seen posted here and have not heard in years :(

P.S. Speaking of China Doll, someone mentioned recently that they have a pretty clear version of this...would greatly appreciate it if someone could share :]

Also..is Maureen still active in the Stevie community?

[mikebise]

http://www.mediafire.com/?izzbondjtod

StreetAngel95 posted this "China Doll" earlier in this thread. Very good quality!

The Maureen CDs you posted:

The Early Years: Knocking On Doors, If You Were My Love, Bella Donna, Cecilia, Rose Garden, Amber, Leather and Lace, The Highwayman, Think About It, After The Glitter Fades, If You Ever Did Believe, Sister of the Moon, Sara, Silver Springs, Gypsy
I'm trying to remember which "Sisters of The Moon" this was. There's a version, using the album music, but Stevie does an alternate vocal and overdubs herself many, many times. And what "Silver Springs" was this?

China Doll: Kind of Woman, Mistaken Love, 3 Birds of Rhiannon, Forest of the Black Roses, Bella Donna, China Doll, Sara, Fireflies, Sleeping Angel, Violet and Blue, If Anyone Falls, Gypsy, Outside the Rain, How Still My Love
I think Maureen had some awesome demos of "Bella Donna" that I have not seen circulated in recent years. And several versions of "Gypsy", "Outside the Rain" and "Sara".

There was a CD with "Night Gallery", "Battle of The Dragon", "Rock A Bye Baby" and MANY others that were extremely rare back in 1999.

Yes, that was Maureen. It was amazing the amount of Stevie stuff she got from her source.

I still keep trying to remember what were on those old CDs, as some stuff I've still not seen circulating recently. Does anyone still have the track listings of Maureen's old CDs?

Affairs Of The Heart

Oh yes!!! I guess I was mixing my Mystical Moments memories with Night Gallery!

Were the following songs of any particularly great sound:

Affairs of The Heart
Julia
Mystical Love
Welcome To The Room... Sara

I still can't believe I didn't upload all of these CDs when I had them before I moved and lost them.

[mikebise]

OH!!!!!!!!!

I was just listening to the BEST "Rhiannon"!!!!!!

It's labeled "Rhiannon ~ Rehearsal 1975", and CMcV introduces the song and Stevie, and it's PERFECT!!!!!

However... During the guitar solo before Stevie starts the "Dreams unwind..." part, the guitar solo keeps looping over and over, like a stuck record! The song never returns to Stevie before it ends!!!!!

This isn't the 1975 King Biscuit Flour Hour/Rock Hoppers Live 1975 version (which JMcV introduces), but a totally different (BETTER! IMO) "Rhiannon".

Does anyone have this????????

***And the full-end lyric version of "No Questions Asked" from 1988's Greatest Hits?

Hey,
Does anyone have the Stevie Sydney 1986 soundboard that is discussed in the other post?

How about the FM show (I think it was in Australia 1980) where Lindsey loses it and mocks Stevie and apparently (from Mick's book) plays everything but his guitar part for Rhiannon? It believe that this broadcast on the radio so there must be a soundboard out there somewhere.

Thanks

I think you're right about the thick label being part of the problem because my mac wouldn't play the China Doll CD (it read it the # and length of tracks, but it wouldn't play.)

I took the CD in my car and it played through once pretty well but then starting skipping around....very frustrating.

Years ago many people made the point of not labeling CD's for this very reason.

Is there a way you can remove the label? Perhaps then it might perform.

I love this verse...wish she had kept it...

I believed only what I wanted to
To believe in love and not believe in you
I never thought that I would ever see the day
When you would say goodbye, I'm leaving today

Do you happen to have that Live 1975 rehearsal "Rhiannon" I mentioned earlier?

THANKS for all the new links!!!!!

[nicksphan]

Here's Mirror Ball and Night Gallery. I also posted Missing Links in the Rumours demos forum.

Awesome...thank you...can't wait to download these. I bought just about everything Maureen had available at the time but once the Master Reels came out, I put all of those CD's in storage. I dug them all out today and, as I suspected, they don't play well at all and with the exception of The Early Years, I can not download any of them...my Mac sounds like an engine revving while it tries to read the disc.

In addition to the ones you listed earlier, I also found these which I bought from Maureen (but can't play):

Simply Stevie: Mistaken Love, 3 birds of rhiannon, forest of he black roses, no light, china doll, still of the night, if you were my love, bella donna, cecilia, mirror ball, kind of woman, leather and lace

Neverending Storms: Storms (live rehearsal), i call you missing, after all these years, beautiful ghost, impossible task, mabel normand, old fashioned, its not a dream, city of hope, takes a long time, all the kings horses, castaway, she still loves him

Rarities Vol 1: Seccond Hand News, Oh Daddy, Think About It, Dont stop, Gold Dust Woman, Go Your Own Way, The Chain, Think About Me, Sara, Over and Over, I Know I'm Not Wrong (Instrumental), The Dealer, Tusk, Honey Hi, Sisters of the Moon (I think this is the version Mike Bise asked about with the layered vocals)

And I don't think this one was from Maureen but it has my favorite version of If You Were My Love:

Mirage Demos & Outtakes: That's Alright, Book of Love, Wish You Were Here, Gypsy, Wild Heart (Instrumental), Eyes of the World, If You Were My Love, Hold Me, Straight Back, Blue Monday, Love In store, Goodnight Angel, Smile At You, Oh Diane, No Questions Asked, As Long As You Follow, Down Endless Road

I was so caught up by the quality and quantity of master reels available that I literally put all of these CD's away and now I regret it because there were some versions of songs that I have not heard in years and I appreciate any of these that you could post Dark Angel!!!!

[Dark Angel]

If it is the same one David was talking about in the other thread, then yes. I'll upload it later today and let you figure it out. :)

I know I have Neverending Storms and the Mirage Demos & Outtakes, but not the other you listed. I do remember that Simply Stevie was all piano and keyboard demos.

Lisa, you have posted so much! Thank you!

[Meowi]

What do we have that was salvaged from Mirror Mirror, as in the album?
:blob2:

[mikebise]

Lisa, that "Forest of The Black Roses" from Maureen's China Doll is the BEST sound I've EVER heard ~ GREAT!

The "Affairs of The Heart" from Night Gallery ~ Wonderful sound, but it seems kinda sped up. I have the same demo, poorer sound quality, but not as fast. Maybe this was one which got sped up in the constant copying. I don't care, it's nice to hear such good quality!

Do any of those CDs have "Beautiful Ghost"?

THANKS again for posting these CDs ~ such amazing Stevie-ness!

Any requests that have not been fulfilled? I'm at home so I can upload now. Let me know :).

sorry, and i have to ask, do you audio of "Destiny Rules" live?!?!!

The only thing I have is the song Mirror Mirror. I think the others were Running Through the Garden, Thousand Days, and At the Fair, none of which I have but I think are posted here.

[SapphireSister]

i've asked this question before, and as it turns out, there is no existing video of it
I'm sure someone filmed this show and has never posted it for public view. What a shame. I would pay mucho $ do see this.

sorry, and i have to ask, do you audio of "Destiny Rules" live?!?!!
I'm sorry, I don't. And what a shame that they dropped it from the set list of the 2004 leg of SYW. I believe they only did it the first couple of stops but here's a good youtube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8IFO22Ixq4
I forgot how much I love this song. It has really grown on me over the last few years and it's very special live.

[Sanne2]

Are there any demo's of Touched by an Angel? I've gotten a bit obsessed by that song recently.

[equeen102289]

So I just heard tonight that there is master reel rumored to exist that has Stevie saying something like, "DrowNing! I told you I can say it." Is this familiar to anyone?Does it really exist? If so, plain and simple, I NEED it. :)

More of Maureen's stuff...

Good stuff Angel! So what's the story with this Maureen chick? Is this the woman who had tons of demos and refused to share them?

[mikebise]

No, she definitely shared them. Actually, mostly she sold them on CDs in the Late 1990s. Maureen & I were Internet Stevie friends, so she gave me all her stuff, but I was slow about uploading them to my computer before I moved in 2006 and lost the CDs.

Maureen had several inside sources. One was a guy working with Mick on a FM Boxed Set for the 30th Anniversary of FM, but that project never materialized. That's where all the Mirage outtakes came from, this guy giving them to Maureen. He also gave her copies of all kinds of stuff being considered for the never-to-be boxed set.

A different guy, close to Chris Nicks, gave her so many of the solo Stevie rarities. Maureen was the first to ever release "China Doll" back in 1998, and many, many others no one else was sharing, like "One More Tomorrow", "Night Gallery", the "Violet and Blue" outtake, "Rock A Bye Baby" and so many more.

Of course, as her bag of Stevie Goodies started emptying, Maureen started selling her newer CDs with only a few new Stevie rarities and then filled them up with stuff she'd already released in different CDs. I think that's where people got pissed. I wasn't paying, so I didn't care. Her nephew helped her with all this, and made some Stevie contacts of his own, and that's how even more Stevie songs were obtained.

One day in 1999, Maureen decided she didn't like me anymore and that was the last I heard from her. She still sold Stevie CDs but not for much longer. Maybe her Well of Stevie-Ness dried up then.

Anyway, a HUGE amount of the Stevie outtakes and demos we have today come from the efforts of Maureen, no matter what some may think of her. Most of the versions of songs she released had NEVER been heard by the masses before.

[SapphireSister]

Great info Mike. I guess that is a really nice story because that's why we have so many of our great gems but at the same time why would she up and disappear like that? I mean we should be really grateful to this woman but I wonder what really happened? Maybe Stevie's people scared her off with legal stuff? Maybe Stevie cast an evil spell on her? Maybe she heard Rhiannon 1 too many times?

Moral of the story: if you have stuff like this to share, do it anonymously. Of course she didn't have that much of an option before the internet and downloading blew up big time.

I say we start a tribute to Maureen thread and see if we can coax her out of hiding .

She's already a member. Her name is Carrie.

Just plain Carrie? No numbers after? It looks as though she is no longer a member....

Hmm I GUESS its cool we got to listen to demos that Stevie never even if she didn't intend for us to hear them. I just think its shi*ty that someone stole these from the band, then she charged $20 a CD for demos. Kind of lame, IMO.

[henryscutter]

I want to second that thank you to Mark - Wow 33 pages - I typed in Master and downloaded all the Master Reels - Listening to them now, some of the clearest demos Ive heard.

[mikebise]

I have a request:

The "When I See You Again" which has Stevie singing back & forth with LB at the end. The part she edited out for the album version.

NOT the version which has an added chorus. I have that.

The one I need is the Back & Forth of Stevie & LB. (Maureen is the one who leaked this as well!)

Also, anyone who has downloaded Mark's stuff: Has anyone found the "Sisters of The Moon" with the multiple Stevie overdubs? Not the one with the overwrought castanets, but with the many, many Stevies singing.

[SapphireSister]

I have 2 - one from Valentines demos and outtakes labeled "WISYA alt version" and one labeled "WISYA edit". I can just listen when I get home tonight and let you know though.

[mikebise]

I downloaded the "Valentine" version, so maybe it's the other?

Thanks for checking later!!!!

[WhiteDove1979]

I just want to thank DARK ANGEL soo very very much for the Maureen CD posts... I was one of the unfortunates to have missed the boat when they first were released.. I had no clue they even existed.. the downloads have been wonderful!! Does anyone have the remaining CDs available?

Maureen traded, just like all the other fans, back in the Street Angel days. She & I & Debbie were on the phone a lot, tracking down new Street Angel shows & sending them to one another. Maureen's last name was Loftus, & she lived in Yonkers at the time.

Maureen had some sort of windfall a few years later. Someone in her family died, leaving her with a big wad of bills. She met Frank Harding, & bought dozens of hours' worth of soundboard cassette tapes of Fleetwood Mac concerts. So it's after she paid a big sum for this stuff that she started selling it on eBay & her own business site (Devilwoman).

Debbie & I were annoyed that Maureen had become so crass & venal, but we were even more annoyed by the fact that the soundboards she sold were heavily edited by her: songs were deleted, intros & outros were abruptly cut out, & stupid labels were stuck all over the original CDs, thereby rendering them unplayable after about a year. She also frequently misidentified concerts & other recordings: she originally sold the Oklahoma City 1977 soundboard as "Oakland." I posted on Usenet that it was actually Oklahoma City.

Maureen sent me the actual cassette of the March 15, 1980, gig, which is why we have that recording unedited. She had more soundboards that she never released into the fan stream, too, which is kind of irksome. She released only a few tracks of some shows, like Atlanta 1980, which is why we have only three songs ("Sisters," "Go Your Own Way," & "Songbird") from that soundboard.

One of our Ledgies here, DavidMN, also met Harding at some point, & got hold of the Mobile 1980 soundboard. But David has the scoop on that.

[SapphireSister]

I downloaded the "Valentine" version, so maybe it's the other?

I know I say "I'll check later" a lot and sometimes I don't but hopefully you understand when I'm at work I don't have my stuff to upload and then once I get home things are crazy but I promise I will check this!

Thank you so much for sharing your insight! I love this whole Maureen thing. It's so fascinating to me and is almost a saga of some sorts. There is so much that has been left to the unknown and I'm really curious to find out more details.
I totally remember DavidMN. We talked a lot back in the day. Is he still around the boards? Really nice guy.

[mikebise]

BTW, the mix Maureen had on these downloads of "Sweet Girl" is FANTASTIC!!!! It makes the Enchanted mix seem dull and dead. So sparkling!!!

Also, the sound quality on "What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done For You?" is NEAR PERFECTION!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

However...

ALL of the downloads that Dark Angel & Mark have posted of the song END/CUT OFF before the very final word of the song!!! Eeeekkkk!!!!!!

"We had a really good... ______!"

I know it's not their fault and it was on Maureen's CDs, but... The sound is PERFECT, yet I cringe not hearing the very final part of the song....

Que lastima!

I was reading an old Billboard issue from October 1986 which reports that Stevie recorded the song "A Whole Lot Of Trouble" for an upcoming Fleetwood Mac release. Does anyone have this TITN-version of WLT?

[mikebise]

Here is my favourite outtake of "How Still My Love", from the Masters:

http://www.mediafire.com/?vnnwmjojlmd

This version is so fun and Stevie's voice so wild!

BTW, I have ALL of the Masters, and this version was in the middle of 9 minutes of false starts and stuff that I edited off the ends. Here is the full song to enjoy!

Also from the Masters, here's a wonderful "Gold and Braid" outtake:

Mike, since you were able to upload this stuff from the reels, does this mean you can now share the near-perfect "All The Beautiful Worlds"?

[wheart]

No, she definitely shared them. Actually, mostly she sold them on CDs in the Late 1990s. Maureen & I were Internet Stevie friends, so she gave me all her stuff, but I was slow about uploading them to my computer before I moved in 2006 and lost the CDs.

Interesting stuff! I've always wondered how many of these unreleased songs found their way out of the Stevie vault. I know some of her songs were "stolen" way back when, but it seemed improbable to me that so many were stolen. This clears things up. :)Thanks!!

[mikebise]

I'm quoting myself ha! Is this different than the album version? I'm totally confusing myself.

This is the same as the album. The version I meant was the ending has Stevie & LB singing the lyrics back and forth. In 1987, Stevie gave an interview to Creem magazine, in which she stated that when they recorded "When I See You Again" for Tango In The Night, Stevie & LB recorded it together, singing it back and forth. Later, Stevie removed her vocals from the ending, played it for the rest of the band, and they voted to keep it the way Stevie wanted.

The version (I used to have, leaked by Maureen) is that original ending, with Stevie & LB singing the ending part back and forth.

Stevie: "How do you like my slow song with Lindsey singing at the end (‘When I See You Again’)? That’s one of my favorite things…I made him sing with me; I said, ‘Lindsey, you’re gonna sing on all my songs whether you like it or not-you have to sing this with me.’ So we went out and sang ‘If I see you again, will it be over?’ - we sang it in unison, then I snuck in and took my voice off. Otherwise, I’d have never gotten him to do it - see, Lindsey’s pretty shy and he’s singing differently there than he is on anything else on the record. He wouldn’t think to do that: to sing on my song at the end. He would think to sing with me, but he wouldn’t want to end it. But that’s what I wanted, to leave people feeling they are really talking to each other."

[mikebise]

Mike, since you were able to upload this stuff from the reels, does this mean you can now share the near-perfect "All The Beautiful Worlds"?

I forgot to queue it up before I left for work. The next two songs I will keep in suspense, but "All The Beautiful Worlds" with be third, this evening.

Remember, this one is not from the Masters ~ there are NO Masters from The Wild Heart (that are in any kind of circulation amongst us fans and there sure weren't any in the Masters Project 2001-2005). But the sound quality is close enough! :)

Did anyone like these "How Still My Love" and "Gold and Braid"? I thought they were pretty cool, rare versions.

David, I actually found these CDs, I think!

I'm uploading them to my computer now (Stevie's songs only!), so the CDRs are still functioning. The mind-blowingly FANTASTIC PERFECT sound of the 1977 CDs is so incredible!!! However, mine are labeled "Nashville, TN - May 21, 1977". Is this date incorrect?

I never heard this version before, thanks for posting.

I also have all the master reels (spent a small fortune when they were first available) and made a compilation of my favorite tracks. I have that version of HSML on it but used a different version of G&B. I'll try to post my favorite G&B version later tonight or tomorrow.

Since I made the compilation, I haven't gone back to the masters so I'm sure there are things on them that I have totally forgotten about.

This past October, I went back to the Masters and started my editing and discovered 211 Stevie recordings that I'd overlooked because they were "buried" in false starts and **** like that. Most people know the Masters that weren't hidden inside a lot of studio junk surrounding it. But, through editing, there's so much more Stevie than I ever realized.

And, just today, I found about 15 more that I somehow overlooked. I even discovered a CRYSTAL CLEAR "She Still Loves Him" from Maureen's Mystery Box.

[StreetAngel95]

oooo Mike please do post the ones you love!

also, i have a request. I want y'all to upload YOUR PERSONAL FAVORITE How Still My Love from the RAL shows. I have yet to find a good one!

[nicksphan]

While we're at it, here are a few more of my favorites from the Master Reels. They've all been posted before but I'm sure there are some folks who might not have them or might not have great quality...

"The Nightmare" ~

http://www.mediafire.com/?mwhjzjmzqfm

I love how this much longer version has more "Nightmaaaaaaarrrre" choruses strewn throughout, almost randomly! The initial vocal is the same as the released Rock A Little version. Then, at 3 minutes, a completely different vocal is heard ("So about the moon and her sisters...").

I've always loved "The Nightmare" since the first time I heard it, and this outtake is tied with the album as my favourite of the many, many versions. I especially love Stevie's different rambling vocals at the end as it fades.

Fleetwood Mac LA Forum 82'. Anybody, anybody?? :blob1:

I'm still waiting on this killer version of dreams!

[SapphireSister]

I'm still waiting on this killer version of dreams!
You're so cool! I didn't think anybody cared. You'll have it tonight as the cd is in my car. I'm calling it the "sweet darling" version b/c she says that a couple of times and it's dreamy.

[Christopher]

I would love a crystal clear version of She Still Loves Him...what a loss that it never made it to an album :-(

I second that!!!

Looking forward to this and All The Beautiful Worlds....

Is their any master reel of the full band version of Belle Fluer? I'm assuming not, since no master reels from "Wild Heart" are in circulation, according to Mike.

Thank you!

Yeah, that's a great HSML. I used to listen to this all the time back when we were doing the reel transfers! I constantly played this HSML and also those three versions of "Kind Of Woman" that are very raw and live (with a fourth version that's a remix of one the others where the acoustic guitar is removed).

[SapphireSister]

HSML was meant to be performed live with the bass line booming!

[mikebise]

I second that!!!

Looking forward to this and All The Beautiful Worlds....

Actually, yes, there is a full-band Master of "Belle Fleur". I will put it on the list.

I had "All The Beautiful Worlds", "She Still Loves Him", and a surprise Master recording set to upload this morning when I left for work. Just got home, and none uploaded. No idea why. So, starting over now...

I

I don't think I've ever heard the full band version...looking forward to it.

[mikebise]

Listening to it right now. Let's see:

Drums
Bass
Keyboards
Guitar - sounds like Davy Johnstone
Percussion

Sounds like a full band to me. On the Masters from Early 1981.

What # master reel? I thought I had them all, maybe I do have it.

When I uploaded the Masters to my computer, I finally had to come up with my own EASY labeling system in iTunes. All those Reel descriptions were just too much. I have the original CDs to refer to if need be, all safe and sound, but on a day to day basis, I have just labeled my songs on the computer like very simply and easy to read on the iTunes screen. I personally don't care if something is a "Necam mix" or "Slave Mix" or what # a Take is.

"Belle Fleur" is on several reels, but I will try to see which CD/Reel the full-band version is on this weekend.

Just so you know you guys have totally lost me! This goes way beyond my realm but cheers to you!

I'm still ripping and uploading what I have of these. I don't have Simply Stevie or Rarities Vol. 1, and right now I only have Enchanted Dreams and Enchanted Outtakes on cassette. I've yet to get around to transferring them.
Anyway, here's See The World Go By (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=d1bb50397e6110d77432d3c9683f450a6b9c1dfd7c317c99e04f31aacf568dab).
Also, to nicksphan, I'm posting the Mirage Demos & Outtakes in the Rumours forum.

Does anybody have any of these enchanted outtakes that were mentioned the other day? I've never heard some of these:

See The World Go By (Fritz Demos)
Picking Up the Pieces
Special Kind Of Love
Enchanted Dreams
Ivory Keys
The Chill Of Love
The Song of Rhiannon
Simply Stevie
Rarities Volume 1

"All The Beautiful Worlds"

Not one of the Masters, but the best sounding version I've ever heard. I literally screamed in a Stevie-gasm when I first heard this last September! After many years of far inferior quality sound, I remain thrilled to be able to listen to one as good as this. Maybe someone has better quality and will post it, but this sounds exquisite to my ears.

Remember, this was recorded here in Dallas in 1982, produced by Gordon Perry for The Wild Heart.

[Dark Angel]

It was only performed on the Unleashed tour, sadly. I really would have liked to have heard a live Tusk version of it.

I think this is the version you're talking about.

WISYA (http://www.mediafire.com/?d2mtmi32hig)

The version I meant was the ending has Stevie & LB singing the lyrics back and forth.
The version (I used to have, leaked by Maureen) is that original ending, with Stevie & LB singing the ending part back and forth.

So when we heard Storms on Unleashed this was the first time she ever did it live? That's simply glorious! I know she introduced it by saying it had to be the right time for them to do it. That's my song so I kept saying she did it for me.

Sorry to disappoint, but its actually MY song and she did it for me! ;)

Does anyone have the version of If You Were My Love that is playing during this?? It is so clear and amazing. Ahhhh

[discokandi7]

IM really enjoying this thread, its quite a treasure trove of goodies. I decided to go back through the archives a bit and see what else I could find and came across this other thread that contains a huge amount of live shows from every tour. heres the link to the thread if anyone wants to check it out.

http://www.ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=34098

there is only one drawback, while most all of the mediafire files still work, several of the tours were only uploaded to sendspace and none of those link still work. If anyone has these to post, that would be awesome, although it would also be a huge task to take on. I know a lot of us newer faces would really appreciate it though.

here are some highlights of the other thread:
page 5 : bella donna shows
page 6: buckingham nicks shows
page 11: wild heart shows
page 18: rock a little and street angel tours
page 19: OSOTM and Enchanted Tours

those are all mostly mediafire links that work, the other tours are there too, but are all expired sendspace links.

Hope someone finds this helpful :-)

WISYA (http://www.mediafire.com/?d2mtmi32hig)

Yes, thank you once again, Dark Angel!!!!! I really appreciate it.

I'm trying to upload "Belle Fleur" to mediafire right now. Seems to be working again for me.

Jeff, this "Belle Fleur" is not on one of the Master Reels CDs. It's actually from Maureen's Mystery Box! Jill transferred all of those Mystery Box songs in the studio along with the reels. The sound on this "Belle Fleur" is incredible! Better than most offerings from Maureen's Mystery Box!!! So, I don't know what date it was recorded, although I still think it's from Bella Donna and not The Wild Heart, based on Stevie's voice (and the Davy Johnstone-sounding guitar).

Also on this CD from the Mystery Box are others of Master quality, and it surprises that they are supposedly from Maureen's cassettes. Incredible versions of:

If You Ever Did Believe
Gold and Braid (The "War of The Worlds" version in perfect sound!)
Planets of The Universe/Smile At You - on the same track, perfect sound!
And many more, but not as good quality...

Plus, three takes of "Love in Store" which I've listened to once each and never uploaded (Stevie's backing vocals are exactly the same as the album. No need for me to waste harddrive space if no new Stevie-ness!!!)

Is this the same version of Belle Fleur that is on the See The World Go By compilation that Dark Angel posted earlier in this thread?

And I totally forgot about the War of the Worlds version of Gold & Braid. I've got to do something with all of my old cassettes. I remember having a very good quality WHRAREDFY among many other things that totally escape me at this point.

[mikebise]

Okay, found some cool ****! This is from Maureen's Mystery Box, and part of a 46-minute stack of FM rehearsing. I assume it's from the Mirage Tour rehearsals.

A lot of dead air space, but the coolest thing is....

Fleetwood Mac performing "Edge of Seventeen"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At first, they do the first two verses, then TONS of dead air, talking and fiddling around. Then, Mick keeps trying to get the song started again, and after one more very short beginning, it's never heard again. They start rehearsing "GYOW" and tons of fiddling and nothingness. I guess they are just checking the sounds of the instruments or something. Endless cheesy organ music.

But Stevie performing a bit of "Edge of Seventeen" in 1982 with FM ~ WOW!!!!!!

Was the phenomena that was Bella Donna so immense that they considered actually performing one of Stevie's VERY RECENT SOLO HITS at a sacred FM concert??!!?!!!! Or were they just playing it for fun?

And if everyone already has discussed this, sorry!!! :)

** I will edit out "Edge of Seventeen" from the 46-minute track and try to post it!
