Z, I really liked that mix! Since you are using the acapellas we made when we had the Masters transfered, have you tried making a remix with "Julia"?

[Nathan]

Bise - check out the Indy 83 Sara. Really, REALLY good so far. : )

[ZitanB]

You are very welcome. How'd you find out about us here? Also I wanted to say how impressed I am that you used an obscure song rather than a popular one.

I badly wanted to work with Stevie's vocals. I've been a fan since I was a kid lol. When I was searching for Stevie acapellas I found this site. I think this is actually where I got all the acapellas from? I have had them a long time lol - I should have credited where I found them ... sorry about that.

I was listening through all the different songs. Then I heard that line:

"I will .... you know .... I always will"

And I knew that was the one =)

Thanks heaps man. It means a lot that you true Stevie fans think its OK =)

I'll check Julia when I get home, ha it doesn't always work though. The other one I tried was "Goodbye Baby" - but I wasn't happy with it and the lyrics feel quite personal to her.

Anyway love you guys and thanks heaps =)

Z.

i dont know if it exists, but I am looking for Dreams from the US fest in HQ. I just discovered that I have Outside the Rain from the soundboard of this show, and I would really love to have Dreams to go with it. If anyone has this or happens to have a REALLY good sounding OTR/Dreams from the Wild Heart Era, I would be extremely grateful. Thanks

[SapphireSister]

O.k. I've accepted it...my US Fest CD is gone :(. I've never lost one of my precious Stevie CD's and out of all CD's it had to be that one.

Whatever the case may be I need the whole show guys so can someone please post the US Festival show for me? I don't care about the quality. Mine wasn't that great in the first place. I know it really doesn't matter once I get the tracks again but not having that CD really hurts my everything. Pity party anyone?

[dreamer78]

I was driving to work today and i got un the mood to start singing Isnt it Midnight
from the dvd and Everywhere I like Stevies deep Background added vocals -i had the Dance version of Everywhere playing and i always here Stevie oing "i wanna be with you"still even though she doesnt do it on the Dance-
Anybody have this show to download ? thanks

[DestinyRules]

The complete version of Stevie's duet with Kid Rock on "Woodstock" from the Montreaux Jazz Festival a couple of years ago ... if it exists.

Right now, I only have it in two parts. Makes it a PITA to try to listen to it all the way through.

I remember reading an old interview with Javier from Stevie & Lindsey's first band, Fritz. He said Stevie did an AMAZING version of Linda Ronstadt's "Different Drum" that the audience loved so much, they requested she sing it again. Does anyone know if this was ever recorded? If so, has it ever circulated? It's actually one of my favorite songs. I would LOVE to hear a young Stevie cover it!

Does anyone know how to transfer the audio from the DVD on to a CD? What do I need?

i just recently did this with a Prince concert DVD...i didnt make a cd from it, i just put it on my itunes. but once you get it on itunes, making a CD is easy.
you need a program to upload the dvd to you computer (i used magic dvd ripper)
then you need to convert the audio from the dvd to mp3. (free studio manager)
then you need to to split the tracks. (audacity)
there may be an easier way, but as far as using free programs, it works for me.

Does anyone have any decent quality live concerts that they could post? I'm sick of using torrents. I would love anything from RAL or SA since those are the only two tours I don't have a DVD of. Thanks!

There are two RAL shows (Iowa and Jones Beach) and one SA show (Jones Beach) on youtube posted by Tim on this board. Just search either.

I've seen all of those before, but I would like to have them on dvd. I think the quality is affected when I download each single video from Youtube and then merge them for a dvd. At least this was the case with music videos. There has to be someone who has the entire file uploaded or they wouldn't be there.

If you ever need something like that again, there are tons of sites out there that can do it. All you have to do is copy and paste the URL, and it will download. The one I'm using right now is www.flvto.com

Hi everyone, thanks so much for all of these demos!

I was wondering if anyone had some If You Ever Did Believe demos?

I've heard there are a few floating around.

Thanks :xoxo:

I know there were some in this thread that I downloaded. There are 2 keyboard-and-drum-machine demos, one 5:15 the other 10 minutes. Both have MANY very different lyrics and are really cool!!!

"The curtain's made of finest silk...
She made a formal plan:
Go up the hill
Come back down again..."

There is also the 05/1989 BBC-TV documentary for The Other Side Of The Mirror, where Stevie plays "Doing The Best I Can" on the piano (Sharon & Lori on backing vocals).

[Dodfather]

Are there any good quality Too Far From Texas live recordings out there? I've heard one very poor quality one but other than that, nothing! Can anyone help? Thanks guys!

Hello Mike. Sorry and am sure people have asked a gazillion times but did you ever get "Black Velvet"?

Thanks in advance!

[mikebise]

No, all of my cassettes are at my house in Central Texas (I'm in Dallas). Maybe next trip I'll dig it out of storage. But I DO have it on cassette, even though I was wrong about the year.

[ryguy2010]

Well would love to hear it :).. No rush though.

[sorcerer999]

In 2002 (I think), Sheryl Crow had her own VH1 Special where Stevie was a guest. They sang "Sorcerer" and "C'mon, C'mon".

I remember that this particular version of "Sorcerer" was beautiful, and had a violin replace the 2 note guitar part during the chorus.

Does anyone have this in audio form, and if so, can you please upload it?

Mucho mucho thanks in advance! I've been looking for the audio of this version for YEARS!

Can someone please post the Secret Love demo? I have it somewhere but I'm too lazy to find it on my cd's and trasnfer it from youtube. Thanks in advance! :woohoo:

[ruffian]

There are two demos I heard in the mid 90s - a friend played them for me - and I've never heard them since. They were both covers: Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'" (not the released version) where she changes the lyrics somewhat to include something like "it's a black death over Mulholland."

The second is "What About Love" - NOT the dreadful Heart song, but the lovely Til Tuesday one.

Granted, I did smoke a lot of pot back then, but I KNOW these exist. Unfortunately, I've lost track of the friend who played them for me (who had lots of other goodies, including originals of other songs I haven't heard since, like one called "Crook's Court" or "Crooks Court").

Anybody out there got these?

Thanks so much.

Nope, it doesn't exist. I have not heard of one that is. I wish someone could upgrade it!

I did do my own little mix by just adding some reverb to the vocals so check this out. It's still poor quality though but I think this sounds cool.

I dont know the origins of this remix either. I know its been around for a long time...
its not a new remix. I heard it for the first time back in probably 1993, in a club.
Someone tried to tell me that she and another friend made it..but i highly doubt thats true.

Its pretty much identical just the beginning intro is shorter and the quality is a bit better.

Not really, we've all been through it. Welcome to the club!

[mikebise]

Lindsay, there's a 1986 version of "Juliet" from the Tango In The Night sessions. That's the one with the wild Stevie who convinces us, "Well, honey, I loved you for years..."

There's also a demo similar to the version on The Other Side Of The Mirror, with that keyboard intro. There is also, from the Masters Reels, a completely different outtake vocal of "Juliet" from The Other Side Of The Mirror.

Ok I have the Tango one which I LOVE and one of the ones from TOSOTM but I don't know which one it is. I very much dislike the version on TOSOTM. Why didn't she keep it a rocker? Perfect example of an excellent song given to a producer who totally changed/ruined it! I swear there are songs that I dislike that could have been produced completely differently that I may have possibly loved and it's a shame. Not like this is a new revelation, just an interesting one and Juliet is an ideal example and I know a lot of others think this about some of her SYW songs.

[SapphireSister]

I feel like posting a random song that I just happen to find that not many people have heard and we can all get exacted about it. I'm going to go through some Cd's that aren't labeled and see what I come up with. Fun times! In the interim anybody looking for something they've only dreamed of finding? Maybe I can be your genie.

[mikebise]

Please do! I used to have that rehearsal "Angel" about 12 years ago, and did not get it back until YOU posted it on a whim awhile back.

I'm STILL looking for an outtake of "Sisters Of The Moon" with MULTIPLE Stevies overdubbed THROUGHOUT. This is not, Not, NOT the one on the Deluxe 2002 Tusk reissue, NOT the one with Stevie & Christine going "Ooh hoo, ooh hoo" throughout.

This version has Stevie overdubbing herself on the verses and choruses in the entire song. I got it from Maureen Loftus circa 1999 and then lost my CDs in 2006 without uploading it to my computer.

There... that is My Dream. "Well, it's my dream...!"

[ryguy2010]

Do you have the Otis Redding song her and Lindsey sang? If so.. Me love you long tme ;)

The only Juliet outtakes I've heard... well, there's the one that's cut off at the beginning that is from the Tango sessions. And the Master mix that's just like the album version only not fully mixed. What is this one that sounds like a circus. I'm really intrigued.

There's an outtake on the Masters which is a completely different vocal from Stevie, not just unmixed. She messes the lyrics up a few times, but it's pretty cool. No Bruce Hornsby backing vocals on this outtake. It's 30 seconds longer the album version, with some nice vamping at the end and guitar flourishes.

I think Lindsay is talking about the demo when she says "circus" sounding. That demo actually has a STRONG vocal from Stevie!!!!!! Music is similar to what will end up on OSOTM, but is clearly a demo. Stevie's voice is fantastic, though! Not as wild as the Tango ranting, but really good, too. She hold notes pretty long, too.

"The sky is bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!"

[SapphireSister]

I'll start looking right now Mike!

Here's something kind of random I just found. Buckingham Nicks Without You bass demo. Great vocals and quality unlike the ones on youtube so enjoy! No clue where I got it from.

Yes, especially I remember it on the "Does anyone (anyone, anyone, ANYONE) ~ Ooh, know her name?!" part. But Stevie sings over herself the entire song.

I don't know what Tusk outtakes CD you have. I'm sure there are many combinations of CDs out there.

I've been looking, since this has definitely piqued my interest  so far, I've heard lots of different SOTM... but none of them sound like the one you've described :distress:

[SapphireSister]

Yes, especially I remember it on the "Does anyone (anyone, anyone, ANYONE) ~ Ooh, know her name?!" part. But Stevie sings over herself the entire song.

I don't know what Tusk outtakes CD you have. I'm sure there are many combinations of CDs out there.
I love a challenge! I will find your song some how, some way! (It might take me a day or two).

[Artemis]

So, I've got these two SOTM demos. Pretty sure they're not what you're looking for, but they might be worth a listen to anyway

Has anyone ever heard of a Sable on Blond alternate/outtake/demo thing? I didn't know such a thing existed but I found it. Awesome!!

[ryguy2010]

Thank you sooooo much Sapphire Sister :) it helped immensely!

[Artemis]

Lots of over-dubbing on this one! Not quite the ending you described though, so probably not the one. Oh well, I'm getting lots of interesting versions of Sisters of the Moon out of this

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?bwm1yikf7ag12b0

[mikebise]

My downloading takes forever ~ but I'm VERY thankful in advance! I was actually wrong about the "Anyone anyone" ending version: that IS the "Ooh hoo, ooh hoo" version I already have (which is on the 2002 Tusk bonus disc). So the multiple overdubs version of "Sisters Of The Moon" that I remember does NOT have that ending, so maybe it's one of the ones you posted (all three of which I'm DL-ing right now!).

Thanks!

[johnnystorms]

I don't but here's a link where you can listen to and download it. It's called "I've Been Loving You Too Long".

Never give up on finding your Stevie Demos & Outtakes! Dreams can come true!

Well, I have just spent the last three hours going through EVERY page of this thread. I've found A LOT of great songs, most of which I'd never heard and some of which I didn't own. Thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to post these gems.

I was really hoping to find my own personal Holy Grail of Stevieness, which is a live show I've been trying to track down for years. I've never seen it anywhere. In fact, at this point I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that it doesn't exist. It was my very first Stevie concert, when I was 7 years old. Knoxville, Tennessee - 6/23/83. It was her first stop on the "Wild Heart" tour. I still have vivid memories but I'd really love to have an audio recording of that very special night. Anyone know if this is in existence?

If not, then could someone post a good quality recording (if such a thing exists) of one of the earlier "Wild Heart" concerts? Preferably a set that includes "Enchanted", which she only performed at a handful of shows at the beginning. I remember that it was the song that really blew me away when I saw her perform it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out. :)

[Meowi]

I really hope that someone will find your concert.
Thats a really nice story. :D

[Aussie W/Heart]

I also cant thank everyone enough who generously shared these wonderful gems in this thread for all of us to enjoy. I have a question regarding some downloads, after clicking on some songs using Mediafire mp3, it plays the song only once via itunes on my computer, then when i click to hear the song again it has a question mark next to it saying something about a file name, i have many many Stevie & F/Mac songs sitting in itunes & not able to hear them:distress::distress: so what procedure should i take in future when i want to download?? I'm NOT very computer Savvy, as you can tell LOL.. I hope it's not too much trouble for someone to help me out.. Much Appreciated.. Thanks

are you changing the file name AFTER you open it in itunes? if so, itunes wont reconize it. you can change the song name, artist, etc...in itunes. but if you change the file name in your folder after you initially open it with itunes, it wont be located. i say go back into your music folder and re-open those files with itunes, they should play then.

[Aussie W/Heart]

No I'm not changing anything, just clicking on open file which automatically goes to itunes, then after playing it one time, then it comes up with wont be located:shrug: asking for the file name.. so where is the file located?? or should i click on save file??? then open? Sorry for being such a dope.. lol
Thanks for you help in advance, its 3am so i will tune in tomorrow..
Much appreciated

[mikebise]

Drag it from your desktop to iTunes. It should enter, find it alphabetically or however you have them.

are you using a pc or a mac?
where ever you are saving the file when you d/l it from mediafire, is where its located.
i have a folder labeled "downloads" where all my mediafire d/ls automatically go.
if you click 'open' and it goes directly to itunes, it should play.
if you have a 'save file' option, click it. see if that works.
it could be that you are opening it as a temporary file?

[Aussie W/Heart]

Thanks guys for your suggestions, though i still cant open the files.. lol. but that's OK as I have just now re-downloaded them all, by clicking on Save instead of Open. So i couldn't be happier that these little gems are back on my new PC...

youll need a program to open and convert rar to mp3

[GoldDustOrphan]

You can find a freeware version of winrar, which will unpack the folder.

a .rar file is akin to a .zip file.

The folder contains mp3 files. You don't require an additional program to convert them.

Wasn't Enchanted just performed at the NJ show on that Tour?

I know for a fact she did it in Knoxville, however I'm not sure a recorded version of that show exists. I'd love to hear NJ if that's available. I thought there were at least 2 or 3 more where she did "Enchanted".

Here is a link to a bunch of WH shows that were posted a while back. It looks like some of the links are still active. Gotta love Mediafire, except for the ridiculous amount of pop-ups lately. It seems that my pop-up blocker blocks one and another one forces its way in at the same time. Quite aggravating.
Sorry, I am having a bad day and wanted to complain about something. :p

[StevieNicksfann]

A long time ago on cassettes, I had a million versions of Seven Wonders live (and some Rhiannon for that matter from '87) but have lost many. The one I'm looking for is the only live show where I heard Stevie sing the "ara's" or "sara's" or whatever it is she sings during the musical breaks between choruses. I thought it was the East Rutherford show but I have since found it and it's not it. But I swear it was on the east coast somewhere. Does anyone know what show I'm referring to? And if anyone has any Rhiannon's from that tour before it got dropped, would love to hear them :)

[KenshiMaster16]

Does anyone happen to have these in good quality or any other Other Side Of The Mirror gems?

Please and thank you!

I've discovered I'm missing 3 CDs from the Masters Reels. I moved in 2006 and they must've gotten lost, although I have the paper inserts of the track listings for the bottom two. Does anyone have these to post? Please?

Master Reel #53 ~ (As listed by Estranged4life in the "New Track Listing" thread)
"Living Room Demos"-1/4 in. Reel
01. Watch Chain
02. Storms (Instrumental)
03. Storms (w/Mick, Stevie and Tom)
04. Love You Enough
05. Secret Love
06. Storms (w/Mick, Stevie, Tom and Welch)

The following were on one CD:
2 Inch Reel
"Outside The Rain"
April 3, 1980
01-07. Outside The Rain (Take 1)
08. Outside The Rain (Take 2)
09-12. Outside The Rain (Take 3) (Tape runs out)

2 Track
1/4 Inch "Bella Donna" Reel
13. Bella Donna (Vocal/Piano Only)

1/4 "Think About It" Alternatives
April 9, 1981
14. Think About It (Take 6)
15-16. Think About It (Take 4)
17. Think About It (Take 3)

Unmarked 1/4 Inch Tape "Castaway"
18. Castaway (Complete and Incomplete)

And one labeled "Disc 6" (I just have the insert that came with it)
Starshine (my notes say "barely")
Stevie & Tom singing "So Sad To Watch Good Love Go Bad" (my notes: "endless!")
Outside The Rain (22:52 in length)

I have other Masters CDs with "Love You Enough" (many!) and "So Sad", but I'm missing these specific ones. BTW, I think these "Think About It" versions are some that are very different.

Any help?

[SapphireSister]

Mike-
I have 3 Think About Its. One is 3:36 labeled "The Early Years", one is 3:55 with just vocals called Scaled Down and labeled " Reel #2 Transfers 24 Track Reel", and the last is a 5:04 piano demo. Interested in any of these?

The master reels one is fantastic! Here it is. I have so much more of an appreciation for the song after hearing this demo.

*edit: it seems as if the first 2 I mentioned are the same but I'm not sure.

I think the confusion over the artist was probably due to the fact that they play 'I Want You Back' by the Jackson 5 in the beginning of the clip (although Stevie sings approximately none of the words haha).

And does anyone have that Seven Wonders I was referring to?

Wow!!!!!! Thank you so very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Nathan]

awesome, thank you. tear this up later.

[SapphireSister]

A long time ago on cassettes, I had a million versions of Seven Wonders live (and some Rhiannon for that matter from '87) but have lost many. The one I'm looking for is the only live show where I heard Stevie sing the "ara's" or "sara's" or whatever it is she sings during the musical breaks between choruses. I thought it was the East Rutherford show but I have since found it and it's not it. But I swear it was on the east coast somewhere. Does anyone know what show I'm referring to? And if anyone has any Rhiannon's from that tour before it got dropped, would love to hear them :)

I have one live Seven Wonders live from Fresno in 1988. I'm thinking it's not the one you're looking for but I'm happy to post it if you'd like. Let me know.

[gldstwmn]

^^^ It might be Salt Lake City. I have that around here somewhere and will dig it out later and see if that's the one you're looking for.

Wow! A MASSIVE thank you for this! I was going absolutely bloody spare trying to find ONE Gypsy from 1987  You're my hero!

[mikebise]

BTW, remind me how to transfer those mediafire files that somehow end up as a .txt file into an mp3 file. A few of the 1987 "Gypsy"s are doing that for me.

Great song none the less...

Great song none the less...

my Mom loved groups like the Four Tops, The Temptations, etc. - so I heard all of their songs growing up millions of times.

[mikebise]

I meant to mention about the 1987 "Gypsy" ~ Amazing!!!! The "new" Fleetwood Mac obviously did their "Gypsy" arrangement based off of the Waddy arrangement from The Wild Heart tour (and very briefly on the Rock A Little tour!).

If I didn't know better, I'd think the 1987 versions were from 1983! I have a few videos from that tour of "Gypsy" in 1987, but I haven't watched them in years and totally forgot how GREAT it was!

WHY did LB just take ALL of the energy out of the MUSIC of the Live "Gypsy" on the 1997 and later tours? That The Wild Heart arrangement is SO much better in concert!

Agreed! It has becoming so boring and not at all reminiscent of how it was done originally. He really sucked the life out of a great song :(. I never really thought about that until you just said it and it's totally true!

....but when they did Gypsy stripped down acoustic at one of the Arizona Heart Benefit gigs (2000 or 2001, I forget the exact date) it was magical

I agree and I have that recording but that was an exception. The last tour did not do it justice. Part of it could also be that her voice is just so different on that particular song than it was originally.

[OooMissionary]

I agree on 'Gypsy'... I think that on the next tour it should either be amped up, or stripped down ala the benefit show. The current rendition is awkwardly between the radio version and a stripped down version. It doesn't have the bubbly energy of the original...and it is def more of the arrangement than her voice quality.

[gldstwmn]

Does anyone out there have the Gems comp they could post? For some reason my disc won't play. Grrrrrr...:(

[APerfectLie]

I am still pissed that the "I can't find you" line has been dropped from all the live versions of Gypsy. I will never enjoy a version of Gypsy without that line.

Here ya go! :)

Gypsy made the set for about the first month of the tour. Rhiannon was also dropped around this time.

Christine was actually the one who made that comment to Stevie.

Christine: The old Gypsy
*Stevie turns and points to Chris*
Stevie: HEYYYY!
*John hysterically laughing in the background*
Christine: Not you....

Next song...Little Lies...after the song:

Christine: Those old lies

Also I just added a bunch of my collection to iTunes (finally). So if anyone is in need please ask and I'll be happy to share. The only thing I didn't upload were audience recordings because I only add those if there is something unique in them. :)

Is there a comprehensive list of the stevie/fm shows out there? I'd like to figure out which ones I went to and see if those exist :)

I'm in a TISL mood tonight. Anyone have:

"Fall From Grace" ~ 2001 Blockbuster Awards with Crow.

Did Stevie perform on Rosie in 2001? I have the video somewhere...

Other eras:

"Blue Denim" ~ 1994 on David Letterman (already have Leno)

"Stand Back" ~ Today Show 2005

Here's that Today Show "Stand Back" 2005 you were after earlier in this thread. The video is there too if anyone's interested, it's not the clearest though the sound's pretty good.

Bleh. Okay, I searched this thread and didn't find anything, but I'm looking for the remix of I Can't Wait that's on Timespace. Or any remixes of I Can't Wait. I dislike the album version.

I can upload it for you but let's wait for estranged as he seems to have several versions. ^^

You must download this version of Long Way to Go! I'm so into it recently. I'm not sure if it's an outtake, remix, or extended version but it rocks my world. You'll never listen to the album version again.
