Demo/Live Performance Requests

[ladyk1971]

Could anyone tell me how to easily add a link to my mediafire songs...Thank you kindly!

[mezzoforte]

Here's the Landslide from the Live Album 1980...I think this is the one you want. It's my all time favorite version of this song. This is my first time uploading to mediafire so I hope it works...[EMAIL="www.mediafire.com"][CODE][PHP][IMG]http://www.mediafire.com/?a8vhfnhztmxv2kb

Could anyone tell me how to easily add a link to my mediafire songs...Thank you kindly!

Well, if it's from the live album, I actually don't think you're supposed to post it. The Ledge has a rule against posting commercially available tracks.

Wish I could give advice for future mediafire use, but I'm afraid I'm hopeless with it. Good luck to you!

[ladyk1971]

Thanks for telling me that...I took it down. I don't think anyone could have found it with my handwritten link. I'm not the most tech savvy person. I have managed to figure out how to download music, and I just wanted to share what I have. I was moved by his story about his grandmother, and I think that is the version of "Landslide" that he wants, but I don't want to break the rules by posting a commercial release. Happy New Year to you all!!! Thanks again for sharing all this Amazing music!

I am looking for the compilation of Stevie piano demos? I have searched everywhere and combed my mediafire(s) for it, but I'm not sure what its name is. It might have been a reel, but it had really good quality versions of Sisters of the Moon, I think No light, and several other piano demos. I would love to have this again!

[-Lillith-]

Hi,
does anyone have the song we once saw her on a youtube video perform with vanessa?
Something with "bells" in the title, I dont remember it exactly. But i liked it and never found an audio of it.

[-Lillith-]

Stevie Nicks and her songs are mostly a tapestry of beautiful poetry and words set to music...the poetry is like the colors...the music draws one to her painting...3 people can look at the tapestry and see what she was trying to loom and thread...and the colors make total sense...if you asked the 3 people drawn to her work, they will tell you 3 different and very in deapth interpretations. No one is wrong...as she writes and records her songs from a spark and it is like a whole big pot of Mrs Murphy Chowder....its about everything...I even slightly plagerized Stevie for my Nana Mac's Eulogy. She worked as a maid, waitress, cafeteria lady...and at night she would sit and string beads...an art in its own right. Making a nickel to a quarter depending on the knotting and bead placement. The local jewelers at that time sought her out.and paid her...so, from this work she could afford some luxuries for her 5 kids...Easter Shoes...a dress a tie...etc for her kids.. she was left alone with her small children during the war...in the 1940s. My grandfather was a wifebeater...and left her. She was told she failed as a wife...did that stop her, hell no. She never missed Mass on Sunday, never missed a payment like rent or utilities. She always worked for very old money wealthy people...and in an exclusive Boston Common Japanese Art Shop of sorts. Oriental Rugs, Figurines...etc..all her kids went on to great success...and when they were moving out on their own...she handed each one a bank book...to buy a home or whatever...I don't know how she did it. During the Vietnam War, my Uncle Richard, her only son and the baby...of a widow...was on the front lines. That's when she squired me...out of a bad scene...family politics. We were a team...she taught me high brow ettiqutte...which I needed in life as a young adult, I can tell the value of some things without flipping the rug or ornament...etc...
We visited widows, widens and mothers who lost their sons in the war...I could tell a lifetime of love, and lessons. She died in my arms, like my sister did. She waited for me.....So as a writer, I could go on but I need you guys and Lilith to get my thoughts on Sanctuary. She WAS my Sanctuary...And my stronghold....through the rain she had ridden...and her fight WAS for all the children.
I have proof positive that there is only lo...like Stevie wrote. Its the only thing that stays...and take with you...

I think i got you ;)
Thank you for sharing your story. It s very touching.
It s great to carry the memory of someone like to you was your nana with you and remember what they did for you and how strong they were when you are feeling alone or lost.
This truly is something noone can take away from you.

Yeah, I really wish they had recorded it together!

[Sleepless-Child]

I've got a little request, but i'm actually not sure it exists...
I was wondering, did Kenny Loggins and Stevie ever perform "Whenever i call you friend" on stage ? Cause i saw pictures of them, singing together, but that doesn't mean they did this song...it actually seems pretty hard to do, live...
So, anyone??? :) Thanks.

I was wondering what is the best website recommended for putting demos/mp3's on? I have a demo of Tragedy of One's Own Soul on my old computer and want to transfer it to my new computer so I can burn a copy. But when I tried emailing it, it says it's too big (which is weird because it's just one song, and I was able to email other demos). So I thought I would put it on one of these sites and then download it from mynew computer. But I am not sure what website it the safest and most user-friendly? I prefer one I don't need to download something from it to use the site, just download the song. Nothing that can "get into" my computer. Any suggestions? Do you all feel comfortable with the ones you use here to post songs? Are you okay with spam and spyware and all that since using them?

Thanks for any info.

I love it, I had a better-ish one before, but it's drowning in the sea of cyberspace somewhere.
The one I have now is poopy

I'm looking for a good quality version of the pre-rumours Silver Springs, kind of like the one on the Chain Box set.

Can't post the mp3 of this because it's still commercially available. But this is the demo from disc 2 of the 2004 re-release of Rumours.
Best version ever! The album version on that set is pretty good too. I think it's the same as what's on Crystal Visions.

But I don't think there is a pre-rumours version of the song... it was written and intended for it?

Thanks!! This one is cool, but I'm really looking for the more intense, live version, kind of like this, but better quality if anyone has it...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0C0Hz_bD_Uo

I know you said you already have the extended version, but I thought I'd post it anyway in case someone else wanted it.

And, I know I'm promoting the Rumours re-issue alot but the version of Planets on there is my favourite of all. Perhaps it's because it's the first version of the song I ever heard (I got all the FM albums before any solo ones).
But the way she sings the "I wish you gone" part makes me quiver.

Unfortunately, there is no HQ version of that performance. But yeah, it's an awesome gem!
I have a lossless file of it, so the quality is a bit better but it's still very, very poor.

Wow, HighPassion, you're great!!! Thanks a lot!!:thumbsup:
The first demo looks like a karaoke version, but is an "original" version! The extended is one of my favourites, I love the end, with her strong voice. The second demo is great too!

I would like to post something about Stevie Nicks's unreleased song "Joan of Arc" which I've discovered recently and instantly fell completely in love and hypnotized by this song...
It does not happen often with me... well, if I have to remember last time it's was in the 90's when I discovered the piano demo of Free As A Bird, Real Love and more recently the elusive acoustic demo of John Lennon's Grow Old With Me :-)

I like the changes of chords. and can't decide which version I like best (I only have 2) : the outtake from Tango In The Night with the amazing guitar in the end (the file I grabbed is not a numbered take), or the take 9 from 03_09_1986

I would like to know if there are some other alternate takes of Joan Of Arc around (if possible in FLAC)

if someone could post a link to some several studio takes of Joan of Arc from Tango In The Night sessions (or some other studio sessions) in FLAC that would be fantastic... :o

(sorry for my odd English, I know this is not an excuse, I'm French ;-)

[Rod~A~Little]

My other half downloaded Stevie Nicks' entire concert at the Wiltern for In Your Dreams. (on her birthday 5-26-2011) and made a dvd for us to enjoy last night for Christmas eve. We both really enjoyed having a Stevie concert!

Woo Hoo...just had to share!

Joan of Arc is such an oddity. I wish made it on to the Tango album (in place of When I See You Again). I'm not aware of any other available studio takes. And don't be sorry for what you refer to as 'odd English." You seem to have a firmer grasp of the written language than most English speaking Americans.

Does anyone have audio of Stevie singing "What About Love" with Heart in 1986? I recently heard about this rare performance but the only file I found for download was no longer being hosted. Sooner then later it will show up in the SNL DVD collection..

I think there's another one from a session for another album, does anyone have that one?
And the live versions of Destiny Rule and Running Through The Garden would still be great:xoxo:

I've been listening to TOSOTM a lot recently, and I wondered if anyone had any high quality versions of Lily Girl, Don't Treat Me Like A Stranger (the master mix), and Dial the Number. I've searched through this thread, but most of the links have expired.
Thankyou!

Thankyou Blueletter18, I have always loved this song but these are fantastic! :xoxo: They are both great for different reasons. The first one because of all the instruments and Stevie's vocal of course, and the second one because you can hear her voice more than the instruments. I loved hearing her sing, "'FOR THE LO...VE THAT I HAVE FOR YOUR LIFE". "NEVER DID I MEAN TO...INPRISON YOU HERE IN MY GARDEN, LIKE I'M IMPRISONED!" "DON'T TRUST HER". Who is she referring to, do you think? If I knew what year this was recorded it would be easier to work out who It was about!

I've always wanted to know as well. Any speculation or answers, anyone?

The song is based on the short story

And she said Christine drew her a picture of Rappacini's Daughter too, which is lovely. They should put out an artbook of Christine, Stevie and Lindsey's drawing and John's photographs.

I don't know if Mick draws.

Thank you so much!! I've never heard Lily Girl, what a beautiful song. What's her story? Is it the same Lily who's no longer rocking a little?

I don't recall her ever talking about Lily Girl. I think it's one of those songs she wrote to a Kenny G track.
A lot of Stevie's songs from this period seem to reflect on her relationship with Joe Walsh.

Here are a bunch of interviews she did in support of OSOTM.

Castle Wall Interview. About 23 minutes into Disc 1, Stevie performs a piano-only version of "Doing the Best That I Can."

The rar files are packed folders because the interview was edited into segments for radio. Castle Wall interview is long.

Sanctuary
Here are all of the versions of "Sanctuary" that I know of, all recorded April 4 & 5, 1980 with the Heartbreakers. (I edited off false starts and DEAD AIR at the endings; these are meant to be listened to, not archival documentation of studio fiddling around. Those full, unedited versions with flubs and instrument tuning can be easily found).

I have a poor quality version of this and would love to hear it in better quality. Stevie's vocals sounded so amazing and she seemed like she was possesed by how passionately she belting out each line.

Also, I'm interested to hear any of the "Starshine" reels with The Heartbreakers, as well as this particular reel of "Outside the Rain" where TP and Stevie rehearse "Needles and Pins." (http://www.buckinghamnicks.info/demoo#outsidetherain9)

For anyone interested, here's some audience-recorded audio of Stevie singing part of "Don't Bring Me Down" with Tom and the Heartbreakers on June 26, 1981 at the Cow Palace in California (https://www.dropbox.com/s/xehg5jdzqtojwbj/13%20Don%27t%20Bring%20Me%20Down%20%28partly%20with%20Stevie%20Nicks%29.flac?dl=0)!

I have all that you are looking for and will post over the weekend.

Do you have the whole 6/26/81 show? I would like that.

Here's some Tom/Stevie stuff for you. It's not all right now, but a lot.

Wild Thing is an unknown date from Plantation Tour, not Hard Promises.

Thanks so much for posting the first portion of the Tom/Stevie stuff!
Attached is a WeTransfer link of the 6-26-81 TPHB show with Stevie as special guest (https://we.tl/t-yU62jUJdvU).

I have tons of TPHB shows with Stevie from 1981 and 2006, and can post more if anyone's interested!

P.S. I'd be surprised if that "Wild Thing" is from 1985, as Stevie only appeared at the one show in Arizona that year; she joined the band for "I Need to Know," "Stop Draggin'" and "Not Fade Away." (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fz1sT8D88G0) Perhaps it's from that show?
However, there is video of Stevie joining TPHB playing that song in 1981 (https://mynewboyfriend.com/2013/12/16/music-box-stevie-nicks-wild-thing/), and it apparently was played at TPHB's homecoming concert in 1981 with Stevie (http://phishhook.com/view/details.php?recID=2324079), but that song wasn't tagged on the end of the bootleg of that show that I have.

Would anybody be so kind as to send me the SYW bonus version of “Not Make Believe”? I know it’s technically commercially available but I cannot find it anywhere.
