Doubt that she got a new vault she said YouTube is her vault
Well, they went to YouTube to see what was out there in the fan's hands, but there's nothing to say she didn't also pull something "new" out of the vault that we've never heard before.
Stevie still has her storage in Phoenix with all of those old tapes, and we've seen before that there are still songs we hadn't previously heard ("Reconsider Me," her demo of "The Chain") -- so it's very possible.

"We went on to YouTube and we found all the songs that, somehow, were taken from my house or picked up or loaned out or whatever, and we picked up all the songs that like -- there was like 25 songs that the fans really wanted me to record, and we picked 18."

What Karma & I are trying to say, is that it's very possible they also pulled out a vaulted song that would be new to us. Something we didn't previously know existed. (Or even one of the many songs listed on the US Copyright site, that we know exist but have never heard.)

Here, read this, about Secret Love, prior to the release of In Your Dreams
http://www.fleetwoodmacnews.com/2011/02/interview-with-stevie-nicks-reveals.html
How it came to be recorded was she had a vision of seeing a cassette with Secret Love written on it and said she could kind of remember it and she sings a bit of the chorus "My Secret Love Secretly Died"... So she sent Lori Nicks her sister in law back to Phoenix to look in the vaults for it... and while Lori was away and not finding it... they found it on Youtube! She said she didn't know whether to feel good about that or not - that's 1976! Then explains how back in the day she would pass out cassettes to friends all the time, she was passing out cassettes all the time never in a million years thinking they'd end up on every bootleg record that would ever go out... So the people out there will be familiar with it.

As an added treat, to give us something we'd never heard before?
Just speculation, of course. It's also very possible that this is a new part of something we have heard. But anything is possible really!

It's possible that she heard something on YouTube that reminded her of another song that wasn't leaked. Or it's possible that she just added lyrics to one of the demos on YouTube. Or, perhaps one of those YouTube demos was only a piece of something larger, and her vault in Phoenix had a more complete version that we've never heard before.
We won't know really until the track list is announced. I did a quick search for the lyrics "follow you anywhere" on this site and came up empty handed.

She has a lot more demos that that - in interviews to promote The Other Side Of The Mirror, she says she brought over 200 demos to the studio to select songs from, and let Rupert Hine make the final selections.
Also, to be specific, she says she picked 25 demos from YouTube "that fans really wanted me to record".
Many on The Ledge have collected Stevie demos for years - decades, even. I've been collecting since 1989, and these lyrics and the melody are completely unfamiliar.
I'd love to see a picture of this 'vault' in Phoenix. It could be box or trunk - but I prefer to think of it as a room...with some lace, and paper flowers, and shelves of tapes. :D

Cool!!! I wish I knew how to embed it here. Anyway, it's the first thing on Dave's FB page. Stevie is rockin' out. :) Anyone know which song that is? :)
And I don't know if this has been posted already, but if not, the following is also from Dave's FB page...
back in the studio mixing Stevie Nicks today 12 songs mixed and 4 more to go
Kevin
Love how Stevie looks at the video camera and sings the song!!

"The cassettes -- because I have an amazing assistant, and my girl singers, also, have been with me since 1979 -- so between those three, they really keep all those cassettes very organized. So we have vaults in Phoenix, where, because I lived there -- I had a house there until a couple years ago when I sold it -- but I still have all my storage there in Phoenix with, you know, a lot of my great stuff. And all the songs. Then we also have drawers of them here -- I mean, not here, but in Los Angeles. And they are all labelled. So we know where to go when we're looking -- you know, like with 'Annabel Lee.' We found that in the demos."

The question is did Stevie & Chris keep their parents home after Barbara passed away..."The Vault" was most likely at her parents house along with all Stevie's stuff that her mom watched over...

From the 2 songs that we know are on there and the other projected one"Gypsy Beggar" it doesn't seem like anyone did much lurking on this site.Of course there are still 13 others that we don't know yet.

When Stevie first spoke about her new album, she noted that she recorded 17 or 18 of the 25 songs she brought to Nashville. So based on Dave's most recent tweet, it sounds like either Stevie had a poor recollection of how many songs they actually recorded, or they ultimately decided to mix and master only 16 songs, even though they recorded more. Which would be a shame.
Separately, here's a 2011 interview where Stevie talks about her song vault.
http://www.more.com/stevie-nicks
MORE: In an interview I did with you previously, you said that you saved all your old tapes from when you were writing or working on songs.
Stevie Nicks: I do. Two songs for this record were pulled right off of old cassettes. "Annabelle Lee" was pulled off of a demo I did in about 1995, and "Secret Love"--the single--was pulled from a demo from a cassette that I wrote in 1976.
More: You must be really organized to be able to find that.
SN: I'm not, but the people who have worked for me have been very organized. I bought a house in Phoenix in 1978 and from 1978 on, we have what we call "The Song Vault.” It’s a storage unit that's temperature controlled, and it's several big armoires that are shelf after shelf after shelf of everything from collections of tapes that I used to make-- that people make now for their iPods—to collections that I play when I'm on the road, starting when I first joined Fleetwood Mac. So I have all the old collections of whatever songs were hits at the time, and then there's just everything else I liked.

Have we not learned to not take what Stevie says too seriously when she references numbers (and dates)? She tends to over exaggerate. 200 demos in Stevie math probably equates to 20 to 40 at the most.

I could be wildly speculating here - but it feels like to me this is a new section she may have written of "This is My Cross to Bare"
Stevie says twice in the video "I didn't care" and "I don't care" - there's a lot of "care" in the demo - maybe she rewrote it?
This Is My Cross to Bare
(Jam Session )
I know your hope is gone away, All I know is a rainy day
Baby come and fly(?) away, I know you've got something on your back
This is my cross to bare, This is my cross to bare,
I know your hope is gone away, Died off….died away.
Well you can go and chatter(?) all day,
'Cause you've got something on him, Oh yeah… This is my cross to bare…..bare, This is my cross to bare, Oh baby, Everyone is gone away
Very gone, Everyone is gone, This is my cross to bare, Oh baby
This is my cross to bare, This is my cross to bare, This is my cross to bare
When you just don't care, This is my cross to bare,
I know this girl is always sad, I can't sleep cause you can't hide
But I know if you look inside, You will find everything is alright
Yeah… This is my cross to bare, This is my cross to bare,
This is my cross to bare, Everything is alright baby,
At least somebody cares, Even though you don't…. That's right…
This is my cross to bare, When you just don't care,
You don't know me right, You told me it would be alright
You know that? You don't know me no more. At least somebody cares…
And you know you're on your own.. ..to carry it all.
At least somebody cares.. This is my cross to bare…
This is alright….this is alright… At least somebody cares…
At least somebody cares… This is my cross to bare..
At least somebody cares… At least somebody cares…

“We found all the songs that, somehow, were taken from my house or picked up or loaned out or whatever… and we went to Nashville (and recorded them),” Nicks told the Associated Press. “So they’re like all starting from like 1969 maybe? I call them my 24 Karat Gold songs.”
Perhaps this new song clip that we don't recognize is something from back in 1969? Something that was never "picked up or loaned out or whatever?" ;)

"24 karat gold...chains, chains, chains...my love (heart?)" I think this is solely 24 karat gold. I think people are mistaking the music and "my love" to mean it's a mix with If You Were My Love. It's not unusual for Dave to embelish on the music and make it much more jaunty. It's even less unusual for Stevie to throw in a "my love" and other similar sentiments in her songs. Either way, it sounds fantastic!
I like the sound of all the snippets but this is my favourite snippet so far - I love this one! I tried to listen to this the other day but I couldn't get any sound so I gave up  I have since realised that I had my headphones plugged in, but not on on my head :o So its great to finally hear it. It could be like when Stevie worked on Thrown Down & Not Make Believe during Trouble In Shangri La, and ended up pulling those songs for use in Fleetwood Mac. I think Stevie has always known when a song is destined for Fleetwood Mac vs her solo career & vice versa.

I am one of those people who (like many people on this board probably can) can usually "name that stevie song in four notes or less" which is why this snippet is killing me. I would have to go with "unreleased never before heard" because I have sifted through every demo I have and I can not find anything remotely close (with the exception of NMT, which as we both agree, is a stretch)

I don't hear anything like You Like Me. But wouldn't that be cool if she recorded that song at some point! It's such a rocking song, and the lyrics are quintessential Stevie!
Don't read your words into my words
Remember the words "Don't do it!"
Wrote me a letter of hate or of love
And I can do without it
You stand there and accuse me
And you want to know who is it
Well, you ought to know who is it
You like me, don't you?
But you can't hide the feeling
Your eyes I see through
You like me, don't you?

You know what the fans got teased with between Mirage and Tango? Nothing.
Dave doesn't have do this, and I'm sure he has to work very hard to cajole SN into allowing him to release any info/imagery about the record. I for one like the teasers.

We've also heard November, from I believe Stevie herself. Either way, in theory, we will get the album late this Fall.
I still wonder if that can be pulled off, though. It's nearly July and the songs are still being mixed. They haven't been mastered, yet. Does Stevie have a record contract? If not, has she shopped one? If she does have a contract, has distribution for the album been worked out? Seems doubtful seeing as the album isn't complete yet. What about the album artwork, has any of that been done? Has a marketing team been assigned yet? How can either marketing or distribution been settled if she doesn't have an official title for the album yet, either? We know the Mac already has TV bookings for this Fall- does Stevie have her own bookings yet? There are just so many factors which seemingly haven't been resolved yet, which make my question such an aggressive release date. Trust me, I truly hope we get the album this Fall. And NOT just on iTunes. But I do question that viability at this point, though.

Mastering is simple. After mixing - it's all recorded to one reel (or digital file). The master is sent to the CD plant, or to the vinyl plant where it will be cut into a lacquer that is used to create the plates used to press records. None of this takes long.
Dave said they only have four songs left to mix. There's really no reason to expect delays, unless her label decides to postpone the album for competitive reasons.
Cover photos & artwork layout can be completed in a day by a good graphics team. It will take longer for Stevie to approve it than to to design it. She's made it clear that this is the fastest she's ever worked, and so there's momentum that I'm certain she doesn't want to lose.
Marketing? As if. Labels don't market artists anymore. Market yourself or fade to obscurity. Even Gaga gets no label support.

I hope you're right! I really do. I want it out this year as well.
However, Fleetwood Mac (all 5 members) probably won't even start doing the brunt of their recording (even though Chris & Linds have already done a few songs) until early next year after this fall/winter reunion tour. I honestly don't see them releasing their album until late 2015 or, more realistically, early 2016.
Even if Stevie's album is pushed back to early or mid 2015, it wouldn't compete with a Mac record because more than likely they'll still be working on it.
Just my opinion, of course. All of Stevie's studio records (with the exception of "Rock A Little, go figure) have been released in May, June or July. I'm just saying that it wouldn't surprise me at all if she pushed it back til late spring/early summer 2015. I really hope I'm wrong, though.

if Christine's info is correct, Stevie was fulfilling a "contractual agreement" while the rest of the Mac was working on the new album. that signals that SN's album is under WB contract, which should solve a good number of questions about the release, marketing, etc.
Christine also anticipates FM album release some time around April 2015, so i guess SN's album this fall would make sense.

Have you seen the tour dates? They go into rehearsals the last week in July and rehearse for a month, then play the first date is Sept 30th up until Dec 2oth. Then Christmas and New Years break. Unless they get together and record sometime between TODAY and the next four weeks, then they absolutely have NO TIME to record the rest of this year. Ain't gonna happen.
The first time they're going to be able to spend a good amount of time together in the studio will be the first of the year 2015. If they pick up the pace like Stevie's doing with her new record, then they could feasibly have something out by Summer 2015...but I really just don't think that's going to happen. I guess we'll see.

As most of us suspected, Stevie needed to fulfill her Reprise/Warner contract, and had to do so much quicker than perhaps was planned when Christine suddenly announced she wanted back into FM. I fully expect Stevie & Reprise will meet the goal of the October release with "24Karat"/"Songs From The Vault" or whatever this project ends up being titled. I'm sure they don't even want it delayed into November, as that competes with a bunch of X-mas releases. Stevie will obviously have to cross-promote while on the road with FM, doing her usual round of mega-press interviews, and maybe one or two live promotional solo performances here or there on TV shows while in New York or L.A. Maybe FM allowed for @4-5 days off for her to promote (need to look at the tour dates closer) while on the road, as she did for "Soundstage-Live In Chicago" during FM's Unleashed Tour in 09'.
I think the majority of the FM album is done, with the exception of Stevie's input. But if Christine is indicating that her & Stevie co-wrote, there may be Stevie songs ready to go (plus a few she probably held back from her current solo sessions). So as soon as Stevie finishes up "24 Karat", which she is very close to doing - they may have mixed the remaing 4 out of 16 songs this past Sunday for all we know.
As far as the FM aiming for April 2015 to release their new record, that makes sense strategically, to capitalize on Christine being back with the European FM fan base while touring the UK. Maybe they see the UK being their best ally for commercial success (especially with Chris back in the fold) & that spreading to the U.S. instead of the reverse. If they can make it happen, I'll be VERY impressed. In the meantime, I cannot wait for Stevie's new release! We likey may be hearing a song (advance single) as soon as August (maybe sooner!!) with everything happening so quickly! What a AMAZING time to be a Stevie/FM fan!!!

I concur! :] Given that ten years went by before Stevie made a new album, as well as Fleetwood Mac's lengthy absence from the recording studio...this is truly amazing! I think they will be equally successful in the US and the UK, as well as Europe.

yes. FM has 9 days off at the beginning of November (between Nov 1-10). at the time before it was known that SN was recording a solo album and we just knew about the FM recording sessions, some of us were hoping that was left free as the time when they will promote /release their new album. now it looks almost clear those 10 days are slotted for SN's album release.

BINGO! So based upon this 8 day gap between dates during FM's touring schedule, one could speculate release dates. Perhaps, 24 Karat Gold will drop Tuesday, October 28th or November 4th!

I think the contract obligation may confirm FM will not be associated with WB. If they we're, I highly suspect WB/Reprise would negotiate for the solo album to be released later since the FM line up is where the big money will be. Any thoughts on this?

I never indicated in my previous post that FM's record was "going to be a Christine/Linsdey album with Stevie just guesting." Nor have I ever believed that would be the case, and still don't. And only expressed that if Christine indicated co-writing with Stevie that there may be new Stevie songs ready to go, based upon Elle's initial post on the "Rumours" board via Fleetwoodmacnews.com, which only highlighted Christine interview "excerpts" from BASCA The Works Magazine. Later, when Nicole was kind enough to type out the entire interview (I was unable to open the link) I then knew that this has yet to happen. However, it's positive that Christine seems more open to it that she has ever been.:D

The reflection on the photograph is making me think that Dave snapped this shot in the halls of Warner Bros.
However, it seems odd that there would be a piece of tape and writing (which I can't make out perfectly) on a photograph the company hangs in their hallway.
That aspect of it almost looks like a mock-up for artwork. (Dare I dream that she was at WB to talk about her new album AND approve packaging for a 'Tango' reissue?)

That's certainly a good possibility. We know both "Joan Of Arc" and "What Has Rock & Roll Ever Done For You" were submitted to the Mac for potential inclusion on 'Tango,' so she may have recorded one or both for '24 Karat Gold.'
Meanwhile, I enlarged the photo and adjusted the brightness & contrast, but still couldn't make out exactly what the notation says. Anyone have better luck?

That's certainly a good possibility. We know both "Joan Of Arc" and "What Has Rock & Roll Ever Done For You" were submitted to the Mac for potential inclusion on 'Tango,' so she may have recorded one or both for '24 Karat Gold.'
Meanwhile, I enlarged the photo and adjusted the brightness & contrast, but still couldn't make out exactly what the notation says. Anyone have better luck?
It says Crop No, Tighter Than Indicated

If you look at the bottom of the picture you can see the reflection of a hallway with what appear to be other pictures on a reverse wall. Perhaps Dave just took a picture of one of the photo proofs for TITN mounted throughout the corridors of Warner Brothers? A lot of record companies frame proofs, album artwork, etc from their artists. Just my opinion, but perhaps we're all reading into something that isn't there.

It was that reflection that made me initially think Dave snapped the photo in the halls of WB (as I mentioned a few posts back), but then the orange writing, lines, and tape made me realize we're looking at a mock-up for album artwork. So the ol' mind started to wander, lol.
You're very right that it could be old, though.

I doubt that Dave would meet with Warner Bros execs without Stevie present. For that matter, I doubt the guys from WB would even want to talk to Dave without Stevie.
But since we know that the band members always have to approve the artwork, liner notes, mixes, etc., for any new reissue, this 'Tango'-era photo made me wonder if Stevie was at WB to discuss more than just '24 Karat Gold.'

She must be including this picture in a booklet or something with the CD which ties in with an unreleased or redone track from 'Tango in the Night'.

Big props to Dave. He has a grasp of social media, and is marketing savvy. He's peaking the interest of the fan base, and keeping us engaged. He has the smarts to understand the worth of that. I have more faith in his promotion efforts than anything the record company has planned.

Agreed, PenguinHead! If Dave had just taken the role of Producer for IYD, left social media out of the equation, and done nothing else except work on her songs, then we would have had...
NO CONSTANT UPDATES
NO SIZZLE REEL
NO DOCUMENTARY
NO MUSIC VIDEOS (even as lame as a couple of them are)
NO RECORD RELEASE SHOW AT THE WILTERN
Dave was responsible for ALL of those things. I don't think Warners gives a flying f**k about promoting her solo career these days. They haven't for quite some time, actually. Just look at the crappy promotion for both "Crystal Visions" and "Soundstage". If she had chosen a different producer for the project that would become IYD, I seriously DOUBT that Warners would have spent any money on even ONE music video for the album.
I feel Dave had to "sell the idea" of IYD to Warners promotion and marketing, using resources from his own production company, Weapons Of Mass Distraction and a lot of his own money. He believed in Stevie and their project so much.
I feel he's doing the same thing this time around as well, although in a much more limited capacity, since the goal (it seems) is to get the album out ASAP.
There are very few Producers this day and age who have any say, whatsoever, in the marketing and promotion of a band ensconced within a huge record label. Dave has done a fantastic job. It seems he's already sold them on the idea of putting this album out in a vinyl format. Hopefully, he can convince them to put out some music videos as well. If not, then maybe he'll use his company to film a couple (although hopefully they won't be shot inside her house. LOL)
I'm not sure how tech/social media savvy that the 5 band members of Fleetwood Mac are, but I guarantee you that when they start putting the new album together next year, we're not going to get nearly as many updates on that project as Dave has been giving us on Stevie's. I do, however, think Warners will take more of a serious interest in their promotion and marketing, seeing as how Christine is back and this is basically the first studio album with all 5 members since 87. Almost 30 years. Doubtful that any music videos will be shot, though. At least not anything more than a "live" setting like the lame "Peacekeeper" and "Say You Will" videos.
Sorry to rant. I guess I should have just concurred with PenguinHead and James89 by saying "THANK YOU" to Dave Stewart and all his efforts to keep Stevie's career going forward and keeping all of us excited! Yay! :)

and yet there are still those "worried about Dave's involvement in this record/he'll ruin it" etc :distress:
Regarding Lindsey's bulge: That's just how jeans looked during that era. Very standard. Why do you think Saved by the Bell was still so popular among teenagers a decade after it finished? Certainly not the quality writing, I can tell you.

No amount of social media leakage will change the fact that there are those who simply dislike the sound Dave has brought to the table for Stevie's production thus far. It's a perfectly reasonable position to take.
Personally I am thankful to Dave for the "hype" he brings to these records which would likely pass under the radar otherwise, but I don't get that much out of them myself. I'm basically in a "call me when the first single drops" kind of mindset.

I don't like the sound that Dave brings to Stevie's production....thankfully for this album the songs consist of existing demos and I am hoping he really doesn't do too much damage to them....the worse thing he could do is add his voice to the songs. Judging by his huge ego that he displays every chance he can get on his facebook page I assume he will have his voice on this cd and I will just have to skip over whatever song (or worse songs) he haunts. She has so many other friends in the industry that she could duet with...hopefully she will use their voices instead.
I actually really enjoy a lot of Dave's work and think IYD is brilliant. But I agree that their voices simply do not compliment each other. The Dave/Stevie duets/harmonies on IYD were clearly not born from musical merit, and were simply a product of two friends wanting to do a lot of work together. I think/hope they've gotten that sort of "honeymoon" impulse out of their systems.
I'd actually really like Stevie to do a record with... wait for it... No celebrity guest stars. Anywhere. Radical stuff, huh? ;)

I don't see Dave as having a big ego. His intentions with Stevie seem to be very pure.
Nor do I think he will be singing on her new album. Cheaper than Free is what is, but just because he is producing her new album doesn't mean there will be another song like that.
I think he is a great muse and inspiration for Stevie. You have your valid opinion of his influence on her sound, and I have my valid opinion. I hardly think he is doing any damage to her songs.I love his approach, as does Stevie. If Dave wasn't in the picture, there would likely be no songs or albums at all - no In Your Dreams album, and no new album to look forward to. When was the last time Stevie recorded a new album only several years apart? No gratitude what so ever?

I have nothing but praise for Dave Stewart. He brought the joy of song writing back into her life.

Not from people who don't like the album.
I adore IYD. But I don't get this mentality that we all need to feel indebted to Dave for simply getting Stevie on the ball in producing studio content again. If someone genuinely dislikes the content she's releasing now, why would they be thankful for it?
I'm not saying I understand how any Stevie fan would dislike IYD, but some clearly do, and there's a tone of righteous indignation on these boards towards people with any negative opinions at all that makes me really twitchy. These "shut up and just be thankful she's doing anything" arguments could've been used in defense of any bad content she's released since she made her millions in the 70s. But it just doesn't really mean much.

I agree with another poster that the track sounds similar to "You Like Me", although I don't think it is this song. It stampedes along in a similar fashion, but obviously the lyrics are different and the melody is not the same.

Just while I think of it, has anyone ever heard either of these titles that were demoed/recorded during the Rock A Little sessions?:

I think got it! This is "Takes A Long Time". An uncompleted track from the OSOTM Sessions. They both have Without You like lyrics also.
Lyrics:
You lie down
And you fall face-down
And you wonder why you must go on
Like the sound of your voices
Well…
If I had not heard your music in my life
Well…
It takes a long time
To forget things
Oh yeah…
Takes a long time…
It only takes a moment…to remember
The song gets a gold/hold of your heart
And then, part of your soul falls apart
But the song remains
But the singer walks out
You could have said
“Well, I can’t change your world”
But…
Oh, I can’t change your world
And your heart cries out
Like the sound of your voice
Well, if I hadn’t gone on
It was my last chance to say
“Have you been experienced”
And, if so, well she said
“Experience it again”

I don't know if this topic is worth starting a new thread for or not, but in the absence of an official track-listing, I was wondering what songs we can assume will be included on the basis of certain information to date (not speculation or wishful thinking). Of course, none of the following tracks are guaranteed and not all of the information is necessarily factual, but from my recollection, these are possibilities:
24 Karat Gold - this is the proposed album title and we have heard an excerpt courtesy of Dave’s phone.
Starshine – we’ve also heard a snippet of this song.
mystery song – the third teaser from Dave, featuring lyrics none of us seem to recognise – possibly a track from 1969?
Gold & Braid – I think either Stevie or Dave referred to a song that had been performed live, but never recorded/released. This might also apply to the tracks Buckingham Nicks played in early 1975 ie Farewell Failure, You Won’t Forget Me and Heartbreaker (Circles In Time).
Gypsy Beggar – nothing more than a wooden sign as photographed by Dave to base this upon so I guess it is speculative, but it’s a possibility.
Are there any other titles that either Dave or Stevie have alluded to since recording began?

I'm happy to hear they are open to considering album designed by a fan. The results will probably be her most creative album cover. Can you imagine a cover without Stevie posed on the cover? I can, and it's about time. There will be plenty of space on the back and in the inserts for her photo shoots. I hope they go that route, with very creative artwork/graphic design. It would be more intriguing , and likely less dated in years to come. There is no requisite to have every album cover feature her.

If the fan design thing becomes reality, hopefully they'll pick from submissons created by professional artists and designers, who have had the opportunity to hear the entire album first, for inspriation, who happen to be fans and see it as paid work, and not the realization a lifelong obsession with Stevie Nicks. I'd hate for someone like me to be designing an album cover.

Gold & Braid – I think either Stevie or Dave referred to a song that had been performed live, but never recorded/released. This might also apply to the tracks Buckingham Nicks played in early 1975 ie Farewell Failure, You Won’t Forget Me and Heartbreaker (Circles In Time)?
I really hope that "Gold & Braid" is one of the songs that was NOT RECORDED for this project. I really don't see how they could top the Live version we got on the "Enchanted" Boxed Set. To me, it's perfection. I really love how tight the band is on that one, plus the harmonies and Stevie's vocals are flawless. Sometimes, when I sing along to it, I forget that it's live.
I do not like the 'fan art' or 'fan design' concept *at all*.
I'm not to keen on that idea, either. It would really have to be a super DUPER talented fan with an idea so original (and so far removed from the Johanna wolves, moons and unicorns) that would capture the essence of Stevie's music PLUS some sort of visual awe inspiring bombshell!

I have a strong feeling it was recorded and will be released on the album
It might be the song she said that was played live but never recorded .
(And I'm a little wary as well btw )
If I was a betting man I would say it might even be the single release.
that or : All the Beautiful Worlds "
While I'm at it I have a theory that the unknown snippit that Dave tweeted might be

I have no basis for these assumptions .

It's not like Stevie's team is going to pick a crappy, amateurish cover just because someone submitted it (and I'm talking to you, Mr.Nicks).
Can you imagine all the talented artists and graphic designers who would gravitate to this project -- inspired to come with an amazing conception, and "outside of the box" design.. Someone might submit something that would just knock them out. I assume Dave Stewart thought of this idea. It's great way get people engaged, while stimulating the creative process by making it a competition of sorts.
It's a Fantastict idea:blob2:

Your quote states exactly why it would be senseless for that to happen.
There is no need to re-record a song that has already been recorded and released (albeit not in a studio). Technically, it's not a "vault" song. Given all the unreleased songs she has, I can't imagine the need to regurgitate that song. I hope she doesn't go there, because of the comparison. The bar is too high. Bad move! Stevie, step away from that song!

I know that, but I think if Stevie had included it on perhaps 'The Wild Heart' instead of 'I Will Run To You', that would've been better. It's such an energetic song live and I think that would've come through on the album.

To be honest I'm ok with a new version of Gold and Braid .
Of course the Bella Donna concert version
Is the definitive one .
But even then I wanted a studio version..
I think I could allow the two to exist .
I think she could bring a different kind of energy to the song that might work .
As she is an older woman now a lot of these demos from the 70s and 80s will take on a new dimension from an emotional standpoint .
Songs like "the Dealer" "all the beautiful world" "gold and Braid ". If recorded could have now have this wisdom and worldliness. As well as touches of prophecy .
Kind of like Silver Springs did

I seem to recall a scary drawing of a group of women wearing Cloaks and holding Daggers with blood dripping from them. For some reason, at least in my mind I also recall them being vampires, and having corsetts and boustiers. Anyone remember that being posted here on the ledge? It would have been late 90s or early 2000's. It was downright creepy.

I remember that fan named Wild Phil who had a web site of a bunch of stevie drawings in the nude....some of the pics were pretty good and quite honestly some were pretty funny.... When I posted a link to his fan art here on the ledge a decade ago some people were really ticked off at me for posting the link....if you go back and search my posts here on the ledge from a decade ago you will find the link.....as you can see I don't post much so it is not hard to find the thread...DISCLAIMER: I am not stirring the pot a decade later, but the topic of fan art came up, and quite frankly, in my opinion, this guys fan art is pretty good, so I just wanted to voice my opinion.
Edit: the link in the old thread doesn't work you would have to search the "internet archive search using the "way back" site" and enter the guys website address and choose February 2002 to see his artwork.....lovely how nothing ever is erased from the internet- ever.

Has anyone given consideration that if they actually go forward with the idea of receiving album art submissions, many of them will be from talented, professional artists and graphic designers, as well as amateurs with a high level of creativity?
To adamantly dismiss the idea makes no sense to me. Just because you may fear that hundreds of people you don't know are incapable of coming up with a worthy design doesn't mean there aren't hundreds of people who are. It's an exciting, inspiring prospect; one that could produce something even better than the, par-for-course, usual standard.

i think they should have a contest
best submission idea/concept wins
winner gets to photograph Stevie for the album cover/back cover/insert whatever
fanart is tacky
some people, however, are insanely talented
there needs to be rules.

I think it will definitely be released on vinyl...Records are hot again and I'm noticing more and more new releases coming out on vinyl.
This is really great news! They really got this thing done in a very short amount of time. I guess we ultimately have Fleetwood Mac to thank for this! If it wasn't for the looming tour and new record, Stevie could have taken years to get this done. I'm so excited for this!!

Since it's just a "reference" CD (commonly used to determine how the final mastering sounds in CD format), it makes sense that they didn't title it. Dave has kept referring to this project as "24 Karat Gold" so I'd bet that's what they're going to go with. But who knows? An 11th hour "change up" wouldn't surprise me in the least with this woman.

Right? It's hard to believe that (if they stay true to their word) this album is basically three or four months away from dropping! :) Considering they started recording here in Nashville a mere 3 months ago in April and are already finished...if it's released in October/November that breaks it down to Stevie starting an album and releasing it to the public within 6/7 months. In the Wild Heart interview with Jim Ladd, Stevie is quoted as saying, "This record took us twelve days to record, but we had to wait around for all the musicians for one whole year."
I'm not sure of the length of time it was in between the recording of the album and the release date, though. It's been speculated that a lot of overdubs and re-recording took place afterward, so who knows?
Wikipedia says, "Recording began in late 1982, shortly after the end of Fleetwood Mac's Mirage Tour. After the death of her best friend, Robin Anderson, and with new appreciation for her life and career, the recording took only a few months and the album was released in June 1983, preceded by the single "Stand Back", to much critical acclaim."
If late 1982 means Nov or Dec, then that puts it at about 6/7 months for the length of that project from start to release date as well ~ same as this project. :)

I remember how skeptical we all were about that one- so many of the songs just sounded far too mean to be written by Chris- Sweet Revenge, Liar, etc. Yet the leaked track listings for both albums turned out to be right.
If this were the track listing, I'd be pretty thrilled. No Joan of Arc, If You Were My Love, or Mirror Mirror... 3 of my favs. But I like the idea of the 3 Rhiannon songs being together. Cecelia, Forest Of The Black Roses, and Space Needle are all big surprises, too. Let's hope this turns out to be true!

I'm a bit skeptical. Is "Priest of Nothing" even really an actual song? It's possibly accurate, though. What is "Turnstile 69"? Have we ever heard that one?

Hallelujah!!! "Blue Water"!!! I can die happy! This excites me to no end!!!
That being said, I'm not too thrilled with the rest of the track listing. "Priest Of Nothing"? Really, Stevie? But I am happy about "Sanctuary" and the three "Rhiannon" tracks.

I seem to remember that .

I don't buy it, either. Priest of Nothing? That rambling lyrical monstrosity set to Joe Walsh's instrumental, named Priest of Nothing by a Ledge board member? I am skeptical.

If this list is true, I am thrilled with the tracklisting, mostly. I'm not a fan of City of Hope/Charmed Ones, and that Priest of Nothing is as bad as those OSOTM tracks that were cut - but maybe Stevie really cleaned it up, pared it down, and perhaps it actually makes some sense.
Mostly, I just have a hard time believing that Reprise released the tracklist, and only one fan who edits Wikipedia picked it up? Nothing from Dave seems, well, weird. I think we're being punked.

Okay, I'm in agreement that this is also bogus information. I went to her Wikipedia page and there are no sources cited. It originally said that Reprise posted this track list yesterday, but I have just SCOURED everything in regards to both the Reprise AND Warner Brothers websites and can find nothing. NOTHING!
I went back to her Wikipedia page, and the tracklisting info that was originally there has now been taken off.

I never bought it.It is too easy for people to invent bogus track lists for this album since so many of the unreleased songs are known.I'm waiting for something directly from Dave or Stevie's mouth or an official release of the track list .

I have to say, I agree! If this indeed is the "24 Karat Gold" tracklist I'd be thrilled as well! This could've been leaked by a Warner/Reprise insider, or yes, it could be a hoax . This showed up on Stevie's Wiki page yesterday afternoon & was making the rounds on Facebook. Dave was bombarded with inquires from fans to confirm this tracklist early this morning. I'm sure he isn't in the position to confirm or deny, but the inquires to him may have had something to do with having this removed from Wiki immediately. I suspect an impending press release is near, and we'll get a release date, first promotional single named, and official tracklist, etc.

It seems a little heavy on RAL-era tracks. I'd think Stevie would lean toward Bella Donna-era and before for her selections.

I agree. Everyone was quick to dismiss this track listing, but the information could have been removed because it WAS correct. It's certainly within Warner Bros rights to have the information taken down.
That being said, I have no opinion either way on whether or not the information was legit. It could easily be a hoax, but could just as easily be correct. Anyone remember how a Ledge member who worked in the industry leaked out the TISL tracks? It's the 21st century- dissemination of information is instant & incredibly easy.
However, I do have to wonder about the legitimacy of that listing for one reason- the Rhiannon songs. We've long known Stevie wants to make the whole Rhiannon thing into a movie. She's talked about it for 35+ years. Why would she release those particular tracks on this album- why not save them for a soundtrack?

See, I don't find those songs an odd or suspicious inclusion at all. Maybe Stevie has finally realized that after talking about the Rhiannon project for 30+ years, it's just not going to happen. They are some of her most loved works; better now than never.
It's only Priest of Nothing that leads me to believe it's all fake. Also, some of those song titles are ridiculous. "My Sanctuary, My Stronghold"? Even on the BD masters, it was labeled only as "Sanctuary".

Yes, I'm leaning towards the fact that is accurate too. Why risk looking foolish (those edits on Wikipedia can be tracked to username and by IP address).

That doesn't mean anything, IMO. For instance, Stevie introduced Storms as "I Have Always Been A Storm" to Fleetwood Mac audiences in 2009. She takes lots of creative liberties with dates, too. She could easily expand on a song title, much like she did with Storms. :)

If that track-listing is legitimate, I'll definitely be disappointed by the lack of "Julia," "If You Were My Love," "Belle Fleur" and "She Still Loves Him." In fact, only four from my wishlist of ten songs, are included on this list.
I do have to say, though, that many of the songs on this track-listing are ones that would probably never see the light of day otherwise -- while the songs I mentioned above still certainly have a fighting chance for inclusion on the upcoming Mac album or future solo releases. So I guess I shouldn't be too disappointed if my favorites didn't make it this time around.
