I am nervous though because I really can't stand Dave Stewart and I imagine something dreadful like Night Gallery will appear.
I'll give you the fact that the demo (I'm guessing the ONLY demo we have) of "Night Gallery" is very muddy. To me it sounds like it was recorded on a cocaine fueled morning at like 4am. The tempo is off with both the synth and tambourine. Her vocal is very gruff and all over the place. It is, basically, a mess.
So why do I LOVE this mess? First and foremost, the lyrics. Second, the key change up between the verses and chorus (very 80's, very cool). And finally, the fact that her angry vocal ("In the paintings on the wall, she says, 'There it is'...") IS VERY GRUFF and all over the place.
The demo we have seems to skip in places, which sucks because it is a very short song. But I adore it and believe she could turn the muddy mess that I love into a powerhouse rock ballad.
BTW - Is there a better, clean copy of "Night Galley" out there? One that doesn't skip? I never heard of anything else regarding this song surfacing when we got all those master reels many years ago.

I wouldn't exactly call it a song. I would call it a sophisticated mood piece with a great vocal. Very dark and delicious.

I am completely aware of that, but I have never heard a version of Mirror Mirror that didn't still sound like a demo.

Her vocal on the Mirror Mirror version that did make it on a B-side was stellar. I listened to that song just because of vocal. The lyrics are non sensible but the vocal was one of her best ever.

Could somebody please post the version of mirror mirror that was officially released? I don't believe I've ever heard that one. Just about 7 different demos.

I so agree with you, especially the line "memories fade like the wind...oh and he says this will never come again..." I just love the intensity in her voice. I'm guessing this song is about, to some degree, her relationship with Joe Walsh.
Speaking of Mirror Mirror, my favorite demo is the #3 version (I think), it's only about 2 minutes and it fades out in the middle and then comes back. It sounds nothing like the released RAL version. No synths just drums, bass and guitar throughout. Anyone else familiar with this version? Her vocal is amazingly intense, especially at the end. I LOVE It!!

Why are people mentioning Mirror Mirror? She has already done that song. It would be a great waste of space.
"Mirror, Mirror" is brought up because it's a beloved song amongst fans. Besides, the fact is despite it being released on the "Blue Denim" b-side on cassette single only with very small distribution & promotion, meaning it only went out to a very, VERY small audience, basically just the rabid fans, as "Blue Denim" - the single tanked & didn't even chart! Comparatively "Maybe Love" had modest success & radio play, charting as high as #17 on Billboard Adult Contemporary, #57 Billboard Hot 100" & #36 Billboard Mainstream rock charts, "Blue Denim" along with "Mirror, Mirror" might as well have not been released to the general public at all.
Furthermore, Stevie never intended the RAL version of "Mirror, Mirror" to be released at all! Stevie is on record saying she was never satisfied or happy with the way it turned out which is why it was not released on RAL & shelved away in the vaults. Further evidence of this is the fact that Stevie attempted again to record "Mirror, Mirror" during the initial SA sessions with Chris Lord-Alge, which did yield a more fleshed-out version, albeit devoid of the RAL era stinging passion, and an unimaginative arrangement closer to the adult contemporary side. It was the SA version which was reputed to actually become the B-side to "Blue Denim", but someone at Atlantic made a mistake and pulled the most finished RAL outtake of "Mirror, Mirror" instead.
Bottom line "Mirror, Mirror" never had a proper release or presentation. I envision this song more of a passionate & harrowing art piece, rather than just another pop/rock song, I imagine that out of ALL the producers Stevie has ever worked with, Dave would probably be the only one that could really bring this arrangement together (with just a little tweaking by Stevie) this could be a great atmosphere song, treading that cliff, both musically & lyrically. I could see them possibly using strings, instead of the synths, to create tension and build-up that the prose begs for. Because that 80s breaking news/Tangerine Dream "Love On A Real Train" inspired musical background really detracted from the song, ultimatley overpowering it. I would welcome an official record release of this song and not see it as a waste of space at all. I'm sure many others would agree, as it seems to be a fan favorite.

I heard the other versions and the best version got released. I know the history of the song but I seriously doubt she will ever achieve that vocal. The vocal is what stood out. The lyrics require a psychic reader. She just put words together that she thought sounded good together. The lyrics are about nothing. I do like how the lyrics sound together but it's just gibberish.

I haven't posted in forever, but I just want to say that if Mirror Mirror, Something Exquisite, All the Beautiful Worlds, or most importantly my favorite She Still Loves Him makes it onto this I will be so so so happy.

Your post got me to listen to Night Gallery. Have to say I love it. She really sets the mood and the lyrics aren't bad. Makes more sense than a lot of her other stuff including Mirror Mirror. I hope it makes the album.
I like Night Gallery, too. But at the same time I'd never even dream of describing it as "good". Just one of those quirky Stevie fandom paradoxes.
I do think it'd be nice to see some less-celebrated demos on the album, just to see if Dave and co. are able to brush them up into something wonderful. That to me is a little more interesting than just making good final tracks out of good demos.

I quote chart information too when making points. But let's not confuse what this really is...a Fleetwood Mac geek out moment!
I think it's great that we have two completed versions of Mirror Mirror, and I agree with Jondalar that the better (rawer) version was released.

Actually, it was more of a Stevie Nicks geek-out moment.;)
And I agree, the RAL "Mirror, Mirror" outtake IS better than the Street Angel version that we now have, mostly because it rocks more & of course Stevies on fire vocal performance. But it also sounds incomplete. The b-side released RAL track has no backing vocals at all. Also the ending trails off abruptly, one second Stevie's singing, "You must know" He says, "No, not really" and then it just hangs there, while the instrumental track goes on almost another minute. In my opinion the RAL released version of "Mirror, Mirror" was not fully fleshed out or completed. It could be that's as far as they took it before deciding to just shelve it.

I actually like the fact that there aren't any backing vocals and it's just her. Maybe they thought it sounded best that way at the time? Her delivery of the lyric, "She says I think you walk a thin line!!! WALK A THIN liiiine..." is one of her greatest vocal "moments", in my opinion. Regardless of the lack of bgv's and the quick ending, I still consider it a "finished" song. I don't think Stevie could top this if she re-recorded it today.

I really like those RAL era songs that tell the story of a conversation between 'him' and 'her'. Mirror Mirror, Thousand Days, Imperial Hotel, No Spoken Word are the ones that come to mind.

The only Street Angel version of Mirror Mirror is an unreleased recording circulating amongst fans, first shared here on The Ledge.
They are very, very different recordings.
the SA outtake from July 92 INFINITELY better than the RAL/B-side released version
even if it's not 100% 'polished'
I am completely aware of that, but I have never heard a version of Mirror Mirror that didn't still sound like a demo.
have you hear the guitar version of Mirror Mirror?
no version of Mirror sounds like that
are you being picky?

The odds are really good that most of the songs were discussing make the album. The fact the stevieness aid that they literally got the. Songs from this album from YouTube mean they aren't gonna pull songs out that we've somehow not heard all these years like they did with something like the chain demo last year.
Not everyone will know all the songs. Even I thought I couldn't possibly hear new things, but as I see some of the wish lists I keep finding things I've not heard of, and then go look them upon you tube and sure enough they've existed I've just missed them. Literally heard 7 new songs the past few weeks.
So not everyone will know all the songs BUT no song will be unheard to everyone. At least a few people will know of every song on thenew album, this is assuming every one of the 17 songs came straight from YouTube.

With so many video tributes and repostings of her Wild Heart impromtu dressing room performance, I think it would be really cool for her to do a remake of it in that style. And considering she was singing to a demo of Can't Go Back, it would be really cool to hear her and Lindsey do a mash-up of the two songs during the new tour. But oh, I can dream.

see I kinda like that version just the way it is… nice and spontaneous and fresh. If it were recorded they would literally rehearse the life out of it :(
And her voice has changed too much. Why remake stuff that's already wonderful the way it is?
I'd rather she track down the original footage and put it in a collection of bonus materials. With the option of a commentary track like on her videos on Crystal Visions.

You guys are cracking me up! There has been no indication for "Gypsy Beggar".
What indication that Gypsy Beggar is on the album?
Dave posted some lyrics to song.
Dave posted a picture of a wooden sign (that you can buy at any kitschy shop) that says "Wild Heart Gypsy Soul" and merely said that Stevie's album was sounding supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ~ Obviously he's excited about the record and the words "Wild Heart" and "Gypsy" are totally two things that enter his/our heads when he/we think of Stevie. The song "Gypsy Beggar" (and a host of MANY other songs, book titles, movies, lyrics, etc) merely contain the lyrics, "gypsy soul". Not "Wild Heart, Gypsy Soul". Just simply, "Gypsy soul". Someone on this board got excited and said "Gypsy Beggar" which then got OTHER people excited and now all of a sudden, it's rumoured to be on the album. Don't get me wrong, if it does make it on the record, and they do a great job, I'll be happy...but I just think we all need to stop jumping to conclusions and pulling indefinite/conjectural "facts" out of the air. Just my opinion. Don't stone me, please. :D
So far it looks like at least four really unfortunate choices of old demos to make the new album - The Dealer, 24 Karat Gold, Gypsy Beggar, and now Starshine. Oh dear...
"The Dealer"??? How do we know this one is going to be on the album, Mitzo?

Well we are def getting Starshine!
Thanks for posting this, John!!! I was never fond of the original demo (or outtake, if you will) but based on that tiny sampling, I'm loving the way Stevie's voice sounds! Not sure about the musicality of it yet, but this could be another surprise like "Everybody Loves You", where the initial "tease" was nothing compared the actual, grandiose and awesome version. Here's hoping "Starshine" turns out excellent!!! :blob2:

No clear indication The Dealer will be included but it is a popular demo on YouTube. Sadly. I am just depressed at hearing that snippet of Starshine and the demo on YouTube. Of all her vault work, what the hell. Never mind me, I am a fan of the more ethereal and obscure Stevie and am yearning for some Forest of the Black Roses and Joan of Arc type things.

"Starshine" isn't among my favorite songs from the vault, but this snippet doesn't sound bad at all. I think Stevie sounds great.
Personally, I hope "Gypsy Beggar" is not one of the songs she's recorded. I've never enjoyed it.
I'd be delighted if "China Doll," "She Loves Him Still," "Julia," "The Dealer," "Love You Enough," "All the Beautiful Worlds," and "Blue Water" make the final cut. Everything else would be cake.

We shouldn't judge the song from a behind-the-scenes clip of a work in progress.
Still, I feel your pain. My same reaction: Starshine? WTF? Granted, it could turn out better than we expect. But still, so many other songs with better potential.
Starshine's lyrics suck. If she actually releases this song, I hope she somehow makes those rubbish lyrics work; perhaps meant to be clever, it is horrendous nonsense.

I'm afraid some of the older stuff that I love the most (Forest, Joan, Maker) are just out of her range now, and she's picking songs that are more compatible with her voice these days…. I don't think she could sing Forest in the same pitch and with the same "smooth" vocal that she had on the demo, for instance. Not sure it would sound the same with the raspier, deeper voice she has now.. and maybe she doesn't like the way she might have to alter the song.

We'll of course she will not sound the same but she can still make those songs work. I want those songs too. I will be really disappointed if she doesn't do at least Maker of Birds. The snippet of Starshine sounds just like the demo.

Actually Stevie has done this before ...If you remember "The Wild Heart" was recorded in 12 DAYS:nod:
How long did it take to release after the 12 days of recording was done.My mind is foggy on that info.LOL......
It must be my age settling in.LOL....
Maybe she's trying to pull a Beyoncé and release it completely unannounced.
Then again, it's weird to put out a solo album and then go tour with FM. So maybe she's getting the receding all over with and then waiting to release it till after FM has run it's course.
I will be even more shocked if this happens. If she pulls a Beyoncé.

I love the way Starshine sounds the tambo is a nice touch and the vocal sounds great. I still think regardless of what makes the final cut for the album, we're in for a real treat and a bonus disc of some of the better raw stuff and fully fleshed out version of some of these songs would be delightful.

Star shine has a very TP-ish, Gold and Braid, Enchanted sort of feel.
I like what they did with it even though I've never been a fan of the demo.
I do hope the album includes some of her more "magical" slower-paced stuff too, for the sake of variety.

I must confess that Starshine is not one of the demos I was hoping to be recorded but I wouldn't have chosen Annabel Lee either but that is one of my favorite Stevie songs now so hopefully this new version changes my mind on the song.
I'm still hoping for China Doll, Forsaken Love, Julia, If You Were My Love, Chanel Chanel, Blue Water, Belle Fluer, Three Birds of Rhiannon, The Dealer, Sanctuary, Castaway...

Completely agree with both of you. I always HATED/DESPISED/LOATHED the stupid demo of "Secret Love" for YEARS! Still do, actually. But the finished product from IYD is GOLD for me! I love it! I think it sounds great with her current, lower register. And I love what Dave (and the C.E.O. of Warners, I think ~ the guy who put the nice acoustic guitar part on the last half of the second verse and gave it a nice finishing touch, whoever he was) did with the music. I'm still not a huge fan of "Annabel Lee" (it just goes on and on ~ it's about 2 minutes too long) but I think it was a vast improvement over the demo.
Again, "Starshine" was never a favorite demo of mine and apparently never a favorite of a lot of you on this forum, but like Tothegyspsy said, maybe we should all keep an open mind. :o

Well, I kinda recognized it when I heard it, as in I think I've heard this somewhere kind-of-way. I used to feel a little bad when I listened to her demos, because they were unfinished, and I get why an artist wouldn't necessarily like people to hear it when it's in that state. When I draw, I can't stand when people try to sneak a peek of something I haven't finished yet (and I'm not even sure why I feel that way).
Now I'm a little more open to listening to her demos. Stevie's even kind of embracing the fact that they are on YouTube at this point.

Me three. :) I would not have thought Stevie would record another album only 3 years following In Your Dreams. Especially not while a Fleetwood Mac album with Christine McVie is being recorded concurrently. Add to the fact that the album is solely old demos and is being recorded incredibly quickly- both things fans have been screaming for for decades now- and this just seems like the grand gesture us diehards have long been waiting for.
Though I'd never heard the original demo for Starshine before Dave tossed us that little snippet, I'm incredibly excited after hearing it. The original demo is just so spunky & foot tapping. It seems like a song Stevie would truly have fun recording. And that's where it's at, really. If she has fun recording, that will shine through in the final product.
I honestly don't have any hopes, expectations, or anything of the sort this time around. I'm just glad the woman recording again & seemingly having a great time doing it.

According to Paul Fishkin, "Julia" was supposed to be on the remastered reissue of BELLA DONNA, along with one or two other tracks, including "Golden Braid." The fact that this didn't happen for the 30th anniversary (and I doubt it'll happen for the 35th!) leaves me wondering if these tracks could appear on 24 KARAT GOLD because Stevie wants them to finally have a home, or if she'll concentrate on demos that have never been released? I've read posts stating people dont care what Stevie puts as far as demos as long as there's new music. I tgink they may be satisfied listening to Stevie farting lol. That's tragic. I remember in the 80's and 90's hearing great demos such as If You Ever Did Believe, Sorcerer, Planets..etc. I will hold complete judgement but so far this is concerning. Hmmmm....!!!
If these songs do end up on the new album they will certainly be all new productions and vocals...
OH MY!!!! I'm concerned. I agree with whowever said some demos where not selected for albums for a reason. Starshine is such a lame demo . Still what to hear new versions of All the Beautiful Worlds. .Julia. ..She Still Loves Him and ...Space Needle. ....Fingers crossed! Okay fart lovers..give it to me.....:]
Well, if you think Starshine is the aural equivalent of Stevie farting, there probably isn't really much I can say to you. I think we're just on different pages, or even reading entirely different books.
I do think it's important to keep in mind that they aren't going to go for simply the "best" demos, but the demos they feel inspired by and that they feel they can really add something to and "finish" this time around. Which is a very different criteria. But no one is going to be completely happy with the choices Stevie makes on this or any other album. Everything Stevie has ever released has is share of detractors. I'm sure this album will be no different. And that's as it should be.

Agree!
Plus let me add... that in the last 17 years that any "vault" songs that Stevie has done are usually the "favorites" compared to the "new" album cuts. Even when the arrangement is less that favorable, they still rate higher than the new tracks.
Say You Will had.. Goodbye Baby, RTTG, SAY, and they were totally better than... Silver Hurl and Illume.
In Your Dreams had... AnnabelleLee, Moonlight and Secret Love, considered by many "fans" to be the best tracks on the album, even if the others were all very good with the exception of Cheaper Than Blah.

I kind of agree with this statement. Starting with the "Candlebright/Sorcerer/Planets" triumvirate from TISL (the best three songs on the album in my opinion, along with the title track and "Bombay Sapphires") and continuing with her vault songs on SYW and IYD.
It seems that Stevie's "creative peak" was the late 70's/early 80's and perhaps that's why all the "vault songs" are everyone's favorite over any new material. Either that, or us diehard fans are just predisposed to enjoy all the early demos more so than new stuff.
Even though she didn't write the music, I still think "Everybody Loves You" is one of the best songs Stevie has done in a long time! I rank that up there as one of her best.
I must also add that I've been listening to the reel to reels of ALL the takes of "24 Karat Gold" and am getting really excited to hear what comes out of this one. All the vocal takes on each reel are so different from one another and it seems that the possibilities are endless when it comes to this song. I really hope they do a great job with this one.
"...and the moon hung on..."
"...here comes the cold chill..."
"...golden wings in the sunset...take me back..."
"...and there is a world that rises in beside the wind rolls..."

Speaking of Julia - didn't she write that about the movie Julia, which pretty much summed up her and Robin's closeness.
Yeah there several songs that reference that film anything with the name Lily in it and also the "I see something I see a handsome soldier " line from Battle of the Dragons is lifted right from the film.
I'm watching Julia on Netflix now. There are so many references to this movie in Stevie's songs! Not only are the main characters Julia & Lily, but Lily stays in the Imperial Hotel. Not to mention the line "I see a handsome soldier." The songs Julia, Rock A Little, Battle Of The Dragon, and Imperial Hotel are all drawn from this movie. Probably Doing The Best I Can, too. I'm sure others I'm not picking up on.
I've had the book Triad for a decade. Now I just need to watch Wide Sargasso Sea. I love seeing the inspirations to songs I've been listening to for decades. It adds another layer :).

I read "Triad" on my 5 hour flight from Nashville to Vegas back in '05 when we went to see Stevie's Caesar's Palace shows. It's an okay book. It keeps your interest all the way through but it is by no means a masterpiece. More of a "mystery trash novel".
Stevie's demo "Impossible Task" has a lot of references to the movie "Julia" as well. The vocal on that demo is definitely not the best, but lyrically and melodically, it's pretty cool and has a lot of potential. :)

She toured with Petty and Dylan when FM needed her. Yes, her drug rehab needs was beyond her control, but the little side tour wasn't.
Michele
She did not officially tour with them.
The opportunity to be on stage with Bob Dylan via her friend Tom Petty was too much for her to pass up. She wasn't invited; she just showed up unannounced.
After performing a few shows with them, authorities stepped in . She didn't have a work visa, so her appearances on stage were a violation of a law. I believe she left soon after the incident. It was reported in the news. It's possible she might have been fined for it.

A lot of those OLD songs are GOOD because they were works in progress long before she put them on the reels to be considered for demos for Bella Donna. Gypsy, one of her greatest songs, went through MANY iterations before it was left off Bella Donna and then picked up again for Mirage.
Stevie of these days thinks "You wouldn't say that to Bob Dylan". Blah. Woman... listen... you need you take creative criticism! Stevie's best work has always been filtered, condensed, or polished by others, WITH her input. She needs to remember that and let the creative juices flow, and then keep working on it till it is fully cooked. LIke a Ham. which she can be sometimes as well!

Sounds exciting. I just love how all of this happened so quickly. Granted, she didn't really have to write anything new, but I'm thrilled that we're getting new Stevie music soon.
As for release date, I imagine that it will have to be October, especially if they want it out for the holidays and if they want to give it enough time in the marketplace before a new Mac album next fall. She'll do a lot of phone interviews while on the road with the Mac, or she'll just do a week's worth of advance interviews, press, etc. in August/September in anticipation of the release.
Could we hear a first "single" in August?

He's the sound engineer. I forget if he's Scott (Campbell) or Mark (Linett)?!? He was a sound engineer for "In Your Dreams" and was in the documentary
featured prominently during the debate/playback of the guitar solo during the "Everybody Loves You" segment & throughout other song segments. Also, he is in the video for "Moonlight" in the background, in a top hat, and one quick cut-away close-up.

mixing is the last step the artist is (or can be) part of. once it goes off to be mastered, it's locked down as is. It is, very simplistically speaking, deciding which of the zillion tracks to each song get more prominent and others less prominent (e.g., you can hear more or less of the bass, the drums, the backing vocals whatever).
If you watched the Destiny Rules documentary, this is the part where they worked with Mark Needham (and briefly Chris Lord-Alge) and spent all those hours smoking pot-- I mean listening to mixes in the studio.

Feel free to still think the album is horrible, though. Personally I'm finding it one of the ones I have more success with when trying to demonstrate what all the fuss over SN is about.
I have friends who has similar music interests (they are big fans of Tom Petty). Yet Stevie isn't of any interest to them for various reason - one of them being her voice, I knew they would never be fans and run out to buy her music, but I wanted to, at the very least, establish Stevie's credibility with them. At a dinner party I played the In Your Dreams album. It worked! They enjoyed the album, so I succeeded in changing their perspective about her.
I don't understand the fans who find a problem with the album, which I think is one of her most solid works. There are strengths and weaknesses in most of her albums, but I've learned to love all of them. They are familiar; like comfort food.

My friends favor more male artists than females, and their misconceptions of Stevie are very common among "non-fans", that she sounds too much like a goat and that she is too airy/fairy.
I like dispelling that myth, and showing them that she is vastly respected - and has worked with and friends with many of the artists they they admire.

I think in some ways non-fan ears are the best at seeing a piece of work with clarity. Fans can often get bogged down in their own ideas of what they think an album "should" sound like or what they want it to be, rather than simply taking it for what it is.

Why must personal preferences turn into "battles" about who or what is better than the other? Those thoughts and threads here are so stale and tiresome. It's all subjective.

I'd rather have two 9-track albums than one 18-track album

Stevie says she recorded 18 songs. Even though she can sometimes exagerate numbers, I hope she is being acurate.
Still, does that mean it will be an 18 song album? That would be amazing. But perhaps a few might end up as digital downloads. Or maybe there will be two versions of the album - with a deluxe version featuring the bonus tracks.
Can't wait for it! Has there been any talk of a release date?
PenguinHead, I've been wondering the same thing. Stevie said 17 or 18 tracks had been recorded, but there is no guarantee that they will all make the final cut. I'm hoping every track gets a release of some kind (digital, deluxe etc.), but I would be very surprised if she released an album with more than 14 tracks on it. I guess it's also possible some of these might migrate their way to the next Mac album.
The only release information I have read mentioned October, but no specific date that I recall.

They had mentioned that this album is going to an "alternative greatest hits album" so IMO it could be longer than 14 songs also it seems that they are cleaning out the vaults and tying up loose ends..this could be the final Stevie album .I'm betting on at least 16 tracks.

Do you recall when/where that was said? I've seen some fans describe it as such, but I've never seen anything from Dave or Liz Rosenberg describing it as an alternative greatest hits album. Regardless, definitely hoping that we hear all 17/18 tracks. And even if we do, I'll be anxious to know what the remaining 7-8 tracks were that they brought to Nashville but decided not to record.

14 tracks were recorded for "IYD" and 14 tracks were released when IYD came out...So if 18 tracks have been recorded I would suspect 18 will be released...

I'd forgotten about that - yes they considered about 25 songs didn't they? I would be happy for those tracks to go the Mac's way. Seriously, I'd prefer she record all the 'vault' songs before any new (potentially mediocre) tracks see the light of day.

That raises a good point; perhaps part of their process involved deciding which songs were most appropriate for the Mac, and which were best suited for Stevie's solo album. If so, that also helps explain Lindsey's prior comments regarding Stevie trying to figure out how and in what way she was planning to contribute to the FM album.

Some of her "vault" songs are mediocre. But Dave knows how to polish turds, or least make sound choices.
Fair enough, not all of the 'vault' demos are brilliant, but there is a consistency that is missing from her recent work. I also concede that Stevie's faultless vocals during the mid 1970's to early 1980's period most probably elevated average material to greater heights (eg "Starshine").

I hope this is the case. I imagine that if this is the strategy, it would make sense to pursue some of the stranger, darker material (eg "24 Karat Gold", "Baby Doll", "Gypsy Beggar" etc) for Stevie's solo album and perhaps reserve some of the more straightforward, upbeat songs like "The Dealer" for Fleetwood Mac. That might explain what some people have been speculating upon as odd choices for the solo album.

Has anyone else noticed stevie is wearing the same shirt over and over and over? I like her shoulders showing....but the question is, were the photos all taken the same day and Dave just keeps posting them over time to make himself self important? or is stevie having laundry issues? Or has she become the crazy old lady who wears the same shirt everyday? Or does she have 10 of the same shirt and is going through a " I wanna wear the exact same thing everyday" stage?

I agree, it is her MO, on stage....it's just weird to see her wearing the same clothes "off stage" in what should be her personal (yet not so personal because it seems like Dave likes to announce to the world via social media every moment he spends in Stevie's presence) time. At home, in the studio....
I like the black, it is very thinning for her....I am just hopeful that she owns 10 of the same shirt so when little miss nicks gets dressed to drag herself to the studio she is at least in clean clothes.

I know....Stevie is obviously very aware of how she looks, lighting, hair, make up, etc. etc. so it surprises me that she's not more concerned about being seen in the SAME basic outfits time after time, especially with Dave snapping pics right and left.

No, I was saying that there are A LOT of songs NOT included on Welcomechris' list that ACTUALLY ARE on YouTube. "Sanctuary" and "IYWL" just being some examples.
It just occurred to me that Stevie has mentioned "Prettiest Girl In The World" in at least one interview in the past so I wonder if it might be included? I say this because she rarely talks about unreleased material in specific terms, so it would seem she not only remembered this song, but was probably keen to record it one day.

I seem to remember hearing about this being one of the tracks that she worked on with Dallas Austin for TISL, but can't find any source. Maybe I imagined it?
Yeah I'm pretty sure she first mentioned "Prettiest Girl In The World" around the time of TISL and possibly again about 5 years ago. There must be a newshound among us who can turn the exact details up...

Does she see beauty when she looks in the mirror? 'Sometimes I still think that I'm looking OK. And other times I look at myself and I go, "Oh, my God, you're so old." '
She pulls a face and laughs. 'I wrote a song once called The Prettiest Girl in the World, and that was a long time ago. But when you've been the prettiest girl in the world - and I don't mean the most beautiful girl; I just mean a really pretty girl, a really talented girl, a girl who writes really good songs. When you've been all that and you're a lot older, it is hard. You see the lines' - Nicks runs her fingers along the thickening curve of her jaw - 'and you start to see this happening; and even though I'm thinner than I was a long time ago, you see your body changing and you go, well maybe this is not age-appropriate and I shouldn't wear the chiffon scarf any more; and then you go, but if I'm going to change the whole thing it's not me any more.' She shakes the thought to one side. 'I'm just terribly excited to get into my rock'n'roll penthouse and out of here. I feel old here.'

Just in regard to Stevie regularly wearing the same outfit, I seem to recall some photos that were taken during the recording of IYD where she did wear some different items of clothing - including colour! I specifically remember a shot of her learning over a musician playing a keyboard and she seemed to be wearing some kind of pinky, peachy chiffon top, but it might have been a different colour. I was hoping to see footage of this in the documentary, but don't think it was included. (I can't be sure because I couldn't watch it all the way through and just started skipping at intervals after the first five minutes.)
I must say that the top with cut-out shoulders doesn't do it for me - she's much too old and chubby to carry this off these days. She started wearing this type of style during the Street Angel promo photos and it didn't do her any favours in her mid 40's, let alone mid 60's.
I recommend she get into some brightly coloured, lurex cat-suits - that's where all the action is!!
Thanks Street Angel - that was super fast!!

"24 karat gold...chains, chains, chains...my love (heart?)" I think this is solely 24 karat gold. I think people are mistaking the music and "my love" to mean it's a mix with If You Were My Love. It's not unusual for Dave to embelish on the music and make it much more jaunty. It's even less unusual for Stevie to throw in a "my love" and other similar sentiments in her songs. Either way, it sounds fantastic!

I think Stevie should record Melacine, as is, without any additional lyrics. It would be fine as is - it just needs a polished instrumental track.
Same with Forest of the Black Roses.
They could be interludes between two lengthier songs.

I'm loving these clips so much more than the ones we got before In Your Dreams. They just seem to have that classic Stevie Nicks sound to them. :)

This album is going to be Rock Chic and very free sounding. This could be her most decadent album ever.

There is (what appears to be) either a list of song titles or song lyrics taped to a guitar above Chris Lord-Alge's head in that photo. Unfortunately, the pic (and resolution) is too small to zoom in and read. Dang!
I'm dying for a track list!

It's definitely going to be a very different album than IYD. The songs are going to be less regimented and there may be a lot of dark songs on it, which will probably end up being my favorite.

Oh, the problem is not that it can't be zoomed (believe me, I've zoomed everywhere on this picture, as well as all the studio pics we've gotten so far) but like I originally said, the picture is too small and doesn't have enough resolution to decipher anything.

I love hearing that Elton John's guitarist Davy Johnstone is playing on her album, assuming that who it is! He's pretty amazing, but so underrated. Stevie seems to be a magnet for great musicians. The fact they collaborate with her really says something about the respect and status she has in that community.

It's been years since I've had a Stevie dream, but last night I dreamt that there was a big album release party and I went. The cover was some drawing that looked like a child did it with a cut and paste picture of Stevie added to it. I can't remember the whole tracklist now, but in my dream I recognized every song.
I do remember it had Starshine, 24 Karat Gold, I Need To Know, Rock & Roll, those other covers she did (Bonnie Raitt and Bob Seger?) and an alternate version of Soldier's Angel. Snooze - I was super disappointed.
:distress:
I'm sure the real thing will be much better.

And I don't know if this has been posted already, but if not, the following is also from Dave's FB page...

Either way, it sounds killer.

Hmm...no idea, really. Perhaps new lyrics to a familiar demo, or something from her vault that is unknown to fans?

No, she didn't. She said she looked on YouTube for demos that were previously leaked because they were stolen/loaned/etc.. Stevie has her own 'vault' at her house in Phoenix, with actual cassette tapes that she has recorded stuff on.
