That is funny - I'm just getting a kick out of 1. Stevie laughing at her hair, I guess and 2. Lindsey laughing at Stevie laughing at her hair.

That little dance he's doing, I think he might getting excited being that close to her. IMO he appears to be was falling for her again during this time period aka. (Thrown Down).
The more I look at The Dance Tour videos the more obvious it becomes, blatantly so towards the end. Check out this Stand Back video, for example:
http://youtu.be/oGL1HDkvTOk
Stevie is so full of herself and she just seems to have to know where Lindesy is and she plays to him...watch her smile while she sings...she is a woman who knows exactly what she's doing and he didn't stand a chance!

Why don't some of you talented computer people
take your best Photoshop skills and update what
the Buckingham Nicks cover would look like if it
were taken this year.
Please create a new thread for this. It might be

Hey, Christine picked Races are Run as one of her song choices in the radio program she did that's been airing this week. I got a kick out of that. Sweet.
Aww. She talks about BN and Stevie and Lindsey joining says how wonderful they were together musically and she stresses not in any other way -- at least not these days. Ha!

Asking for an explanation about something so silly does not make one testy.

I'm always baffled when someone brings up a topic that piques the interest of others and then the original poster becomes testy when questioned. Desiree, what ever answer you come up with is the correct one. We are just curious observers to some good L&S drama.

Well, my apologies to everybody. I've been looking for Danax6's review and couldn't find it and she wasn't even at the Amsterdam show but at the Antwerp show. Anyway, CAD, I don't see any pushing either but I'm sure I read somewhere that they hugged and she pushed him away in the end. Maybe I'm just going nuts
BTW, did anyone else notice that Stevie wipes his mic when she's done singing?? I remember during SYW after Mick's drum solo, a guy quickly came from the side and wiped his mic. I can see why Lindsey would like to have a clean mic after Mick's been spitting on it but Stevie??? It's not like they never exchanged bodily fluids before...

I don't think Vanessa meant that literally. My take is she just meant that Stevie was cold that night. My impression was not that she actually pushed Lindsey away, but probably wanted to, from the overall vibe she gave off.

Well, at least she didn't wipe the mic before she sang into it. That would rather have spoiled the mood.
Maybe she just wiped it off afterwards out of force of habit. She always towels down the ellipticals at 24 Hour Fitness after she uses them too!

Debbie, you have nothing to apologize for. I just wasn't sure which show you were talking about - I haven't read all the reviews & the UK/Euro tour is running together to me.
Didn't they say they had all been a little sick though? I'm sure that's where this mic wiping started, although I'm not sure what good it's doing lol.
Thanks for the link. I can't tell she pushes him away any more than pushes off him or just a general balancing act trying not to hit the guitar. *shrug* She's giving him the pat/back scratch anyway. :)

Probably just a precautionary measure to prevent the spreading of germs and as a result, prevent Lindsey from getting sick if Stevie does.
Although they hug and hold hands enough that I don't think her wiping off the mic is going to do much good.

Yeah, I was partly referring to how cold things seemed to be between S&L. The Sara hug stood out to me because it does look like she sort of pushes him away, but maybe that's just what it looked like from my angle? And my view may be warped by the non-loving I felt the entire evening.
I have a close up video of the hug, if anyone is interested?

In the end I think we have to remember that most steps at the shows are scripted.
I mean... when you see the two of them talking about each other in interviews it's not always roses and sunshine and that's fine. They ARE intense people. Still there is affection so sometimes it shows on stage as well and other times it's the opposite.
Like they say: hate (although that word is too strong) is not the opposite of love. That is indifference and that is nothing I get from these two.
Touring together (I'm sure) is very tiring and also a challenge. If you take into count that they are very different characters I'd say: all in all they manage fairly well, no?

it's interesting, most shows i've seen they were very warm, loving and friendly to each other, but every now and then at some show one or the other would come across as really cold... which i guess would normally make sense being on the road, but the way it was expressed was a bit odd. there were 2 shows i was at that stood out for me where Stevie was being particularly cold. actually that's not entirely correct, more like angry? shooting daggers at him and not cracking a smile when he would try to engage her, smooth the situation, make faces or smile at her. one of those was his birthday show in Glasgow. this was particularly bizarre considering it was his birthday but she seemed so pi**ed specifically at him. the positives that came out of that was that WY intro was more off the cuff, and the ending of Silver Springs as well as Say Goodbye were pretty intense.

Then maybe you misread that "coldness" altogether. They seemed pretty cozy at the encore bow - you know when she held her hand out to him waiting for him to come back as he went to his mic to get a pick - and then he kissed her hand and said something to her and she smiled and nodded yes before he gave the pick to the fan.
She hardly ever comes across to me as cold. I've seen her when I thought she was very nervous or preoccupied or even worried. I think there may be other reasons - she may not feel good, she may have had a bad day, she may be tired, not feel up to the show; maybe she was upset at someone else or have things on her mind. Honestly, and I'm not saying she never gets mad at Lindsey - we all know that's not true - I'm just saying we can't always interpret her emotions to be aimed at him just because he is the one on equal footing with her onstage. Hell, they could be mad at catering for not having Coca-Cola or the right coffee (or whatever else). But, Stevie herself has said their onstage interaction does get affected by what happened that day, that's just normal and to be expected.
Overall, I thought the vibe was pretty good at Glasgow from the videos I've seen.

 you know, i may have misread for sure, but that was the vibe i got being at the show, as opposed to watching sparse videos. when they first came out she was happy, he was kinda down. by the 3rd song, their moods flipped and mostly stayed that way throughout the show.
again, just an impression, i may be completely off.

i wish there were more vids from that show, b/c it was a great show, great audience, and a lot happening. wish there was a video of audience singing happy birthday to Lindsey. hopefully it still resurfaces.
I'm sure it was a great show.
Who did she dedicate Landslide to, or were you paying attention?
When did the birthday singing happen?
I'm sure it was a great show.

lol, good question. it was weird, she was talking on and on about some (Swedish?) bird that someone had and that she named Rhiannon for them. so she dedicated it to that bird.
When did the birthday singing happen?
when Lindsey started introducing Tusk album, before Not That Funny. so hopefully, maybe someone somewhere has NTF video with the intro...

i believe so, yes. but i'm not paying that much attention as CAD so nicely says, so maybe someone else who was there would know better. :p
in Cologne and Amsterdam she said she doesn't know anyone there so couldn't really dedicate it to anybody, and therefore is dedicating it to the whole audience.
also, someone must have also told her after Glasgow that it's not the best etiquette to accuse multilingual European people of not understanding English, so she kinda apologized at both of those shows for saying that in Glasgow.

Frankly the "curious observers to some good L&S drama" seem to be treated rather poorly all around on these boards. It's one of the reasons so many members troll instead of join in. Some things never change...
Think I'll step back too, but I'm thick skinned. I'm 57 years old and I just get over the crap that comes along with this type of forum. Again my opinion. I enjoy the ledge and most of the posters a lot, btw.
Ok first of all you threw this quote into my quote and I never wrote this:>>> Actually, I believe there has been considerable dissension lately, it seemed to me that Elle was getting it the other day, seems like someone's always on the s**t list TO ME, my opinion!<<< I don't know where you pulled this paragraph from, but if you are gonna quote me, you should quote only what I write, not someone else's doing.
Another thing is, I have no idea what has got you in such a mood? You brought up a topic, CAD questioned you on it, and you got pissy about it. This all makes no sense. And who are you to tell us that this is the reason so many members lurk instead of post? Did you have a convention of former posters and everyone agreed the L&S drama observers need to stay lurking so they don't have to answer any questions?
On edit;
Now I see that you have deleted your rude post between posts 806 and 807. I hope the Mods will read what you wrote so you cannot hide behind a delete function. I do not appreciate you or anyone else putting words in my quote that I did not write. Who knows how many people saw that before you deleted it?

Wow! I am very sorry that my post was not written in an understandable way for you or that it was written incorrectly...the words were mine, I put quotations around your words! And, the way you mistook my meaning....I am so stunned! When you rethink something and try to change it sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Thanks for not letting me cut down on some of this hostility by deleting what I thought might cause more trouble than it was worth! That is why there is a delete! Thinking people change their minds here and there. Who are you to treat me this way? And who are you to expect me to answer your questions? Especially if I can't be honest about how I feel? I hope the moderators will read everything I wrote, CADreaming wrote and every hateful word that you have written in return. I am completely blown away by your tirade. Couldn't be sorrier as I truly can't believe this, would never in a million years have wanted to be a part of something so ugly! There are a handful of you who rule over this board...well have at it. I read in different places online about how the ledgies are viewed by others, on Twitter and such...how you can't speak your mind without this happening or being booted off, you must think as does the crowd. I'm a Ledgie from way back so I'm aware of how things really are...this most recent experience has definitely proven those things out. Now, can you or anyone else tell me what I did to deserve this, was I that unclear?

I don't think Vanessa meant that literally. My take is she just meant that Stevie was cold that night. My impression was not that she actually pushed Lindsey away, but probably wanted to, from the overall vibe she gave off.

I hate to start something and not being able to follow through, that's why I apologized :)
I haven't heard anything about them feeling sick. Wouldn't be the first time though.
And yes, she's patting him on the back so it's probably all good.
The Catdancer

Probably just a precautionary measure to prevent the spreading of germs and as a result, prevent Lindsey from getting sick if Stevie does.
Although they hug and hold hands enough that I don't think her wiping off the mic is going to do much good.
Not really when they're so close as hugging. Maybe Lindsey has something against spit on his mic

This. Stevie just wasn't feeling it that night, which I'm sure all tied into them skipping Silver Springs as well.

I think it's all a matter of visual perspective. Depending on where you sit things look different from different angles. From your video, I could see that it appears that Stevie could have been pushing off Lindsey. Plus you have to add in the fact that when you are at a concert things move very fast, your adrenaline is pumping, your trying to take in everything that's happening all at once, and brain doesn't always catch everything or you remember something one way, but when you watch the video it's a little different. So I don't think you said anything wrong from your own perspective.
As to wiping off the mic.... You know maybe Stevie spit on it and was trying to be polite and wipe it off. She it does appear she was not feeling well that night and her voice was kinda weak. She very well could have been getting sick and was trying to keep it from spreading. I did notice that Lindsey's head was actually laying on her shoulder this time and his face was turned in the opposite direction of Stevie's. He's wasn't eating her hair or whatever else he usually does during that dance, so I think it could have been just caution.

seems they skip Silver Springs when she's not feeling well, and it's a harder one for her to sing.
but, from what i heard, Lindsey was coughing a lot throughout that Antwerpen show, so he was already sick anyway.

Both sick?? I didn't know that. Well Lindsey did say during the Glasgow show he wanted to "talk" to Stevie later about her "sleazy" comment, so maybe they shared a soda (or something) together during the "conversation" and got sick. It sometimes takes a few days for an "illness" to set in.

She wasted a dedication on a ****ing bird?
This may have something to do with that. Article from Ayrshire Post:
http://www.i4u.com/2013/10/stevie-nicks/world-legion-over-news-n-roll-all-fans-ayrshire-she-s-legen
She’s a rock ‘n’ roll legend with a legion of fans all over the world.
Oct 18 2013 by Edwin Lawrence, Ayrshire Post
And Stevie Nicks has a very special friend right here in Ayrshire.
He is ace falconer Jamie Dempsey, 33, who first met Stevie four years ago.
The superstar was at Turnberry Hotel, where Jamie was putting on a falconry show.
And she got an aide to approach Jamie to see if she could talk to him, and see his birds.
“It certainly was okay,” said Jamie, who instantly hit it off with the singer.
And he has even named one of his birds Rhiannon, after a Fleetwood Mac song that was written by Stevie.
The band have just played Glasgow’s new £125 million Hydro venue.
And guess who got a VIP backstage pass?
Yes, Jamie was there, and was able to take three friends along.
They had the best seats in the house for Fleetwood Mac’s dynamic show.
“Then we were shown into Stevie’s dressing room,” said Jamie. We were the only people allowed back there after the gig.”
Jamie has met up with Stevie several times since their first encounter.
“She even gave me a shout during the gig – the second time she’s done a dedication like that.”
Stevie showed Jamie her digital camera, where she keeps images of all his beautiful birds.
“Stevie told me runs the images on big TV screens in her house, because she loves them so much.
“And when her friends – people like Tom Petty – drop by, they love to see them too.
“Stevie told me there’s never a day goes by without her looking at the pictures.”
Jamie clearly values his firendship with superstar Stevie, an incredible 65-year-old.
The lucky friends who went to the gig with him were DJ/drummer PJ Coyle, his sister Cara, and girlfriend Nikki Gordon.
PJ said: “It was inspirational to meet someone who has been playing live and writing music for decades, and who still has the same passion.”
Perhaps it’s passion that Stevie recognises in Jamie, who lost part of his left leg when a drunk driver ran in to him.
For the brave young golf course greenkeeper went on to build a new career for himself as a falconer.
His talent was first recognised working at Turnberry Hotel’s outdoor pursuits centre.
But now Jamie is about to launch his own High Park Falconry business, based in the countryside near Kirkoswald. And he already has celebrity fans ready to support him.

"Tonight I’m gonna dedicate Landslide to our band. I’m really dedicating it to Fleetwood Mac, and I’m also really dedicating it to you, Lindsey. For all the wonderful things that you have done for me, and teaching me the little guitar pick that is in Landslide that I would never have known had it not been for you, and all the really wonderful music that you have brought into my life. And just for being a wonderful friend all these years. I just want you to know that even though we argue, the love is always still there. Now I’m going to take a couple of really deep yoga breaths while he does an extra long introduction and try to sing it."

Lindsey nodding his head when she asked if he could hear her was so lovely.

If I'd been at the show and hadn't heard the rumors and I heard that dedication I don't know what I would have thought.
Ha, I just know that John wanted them to leave him alone and not do anything gooey to him. That's why I want to hear what Stevie said in WY. She couldn't get too sentimental, but she probably tipped her hand a little anyway.

I guess they didn't do Say Goodbye. That would have been a doozy to watch.
Well, even if the intro is intended to be a goodbye things can change. But it sounded like a goodbye to Lindsey and not FM, right? If it sounded like a goodbye to Lindsey, we know it's not that. She'll be arguing with him about something or another soon enough. If I heard it and hadn't heard about John, I wonder if I would have thought there was a danger to LB's health. I guess it would depend on what her behavior towards him during the rest of the show was like.
CAD we were talking about Mick saying 18 months and maybe this is why. Maybe he was thinking that John needed 6 months to recover. So, he said 18 months and not a year. That's also why, if it's true that Chris said she would join the tour in LATE 2014, that is so. Because they knew the first half of 2014 would be occupied, but they are hoping that things will be ok for the last half.

She starts thanking the band, Fleetwood Mac, and then tears up and thanks Lindsey. Safe to say that had it not been for him she wouldn't be where she is today, so that makes sense. It did sound like a goodbye to Fleetwood Mac to me. But I do hope there's truth to the 2014/Christine rumors (in more ways than one), so that we can assume they are approaching this with optimism and hope.

Goodness, it didn't sound like any kind of goodbye to me. It just sounded like she is recognizing how important people are in light of the situation with John and wanted to publicly share how important Lindsey is to her. She's been trying to do that the entire tour in the WY intros and since they didn't have that moment, she made this a little more personal.

I don't see it as a final goodbye, I think she was just emotional because - as optimistic as we all may be -the reality is there's a possibility it COULD be the last show (god forbid). And I guess for whatever reason, she wanted to make sure Lindsey knew all of that, in case they never stepped on stage as Fleetwood Mac again.
Additionally, news like this often punches you in the gut and makes you reevaluate all of the relationships in your life. John being ill was likely a reality check that none of them, herself and Lindsey included, are infallible. I could easily see that prompting her to speak out her gratitude as she did. Although I think the passing of her mother had much of the same effect, it still isn't quite the same as when someone your own age and on your own "level" per say falls into a tragic circumstance. That's when the "it could have been me" or "it could have been you" sort of feelings really start to bubble over. Gives you a new perspective and makes you realize how important people are in your life.

What I gathered from that statement was "the one more time" meant they had one more show to do to wrap up the European Tour. Hence, one more time to tell the WY story before the Aus./NZ segment of the tour. The sweedish show was on a Wednesday. John could have gotten the bad news on Thursday or Friday. And the last show was Saturday night. I don't think they knew about John's diagnosis until after the Wed. show. But really, what the heck do I know. I'm just speculating.

I was there, in Amsterdam. It was a very vivid, heartfelt and driven show. The fact that they dropped 4 songs (elles list is correct), was due to the techprobs. But to be honest, the whole show blew me away, and it felt like their last ever ( in Europe) to me. I did not know about John until the next day. he played fabulous. It was the best show I ever saw from them, with a tremendous pace.
When did Lindsey choke up during say goodbye during this tour??

I remember Stevie saying to John that when they got to Australia she would tell ANOTHER part of the WY story and maybe he would want to chip in then. Kind of sad in retrospect.
Looking at the WY from 10/23, I bet when she turned to him, she didn't even want to look at him for too long as she spoke. Then, for the final bow, there's that one picture someone posted where it looks like John may have made a comment and Lindsey is looking at him and laughing.

In another video he kisses his wife and he does the exact same routine with the lip licking. The difference is that he doesn´t look as obsessed as he tend to do when Stevie´s the object...

I don't know, but as much as I laugh at the things Lindsey does (I think he has a thing for her hair), when I was looking at the tall guy in Lady Antebellum stooping down to lean into Stevie it seemed so weird. I thought, "Oh my goodness. I'm glad Lindsey's not tall enough to do that."

Thought so. Touching. I'm still recovering from the Amsterdam experience. The vibe was very special. I thought it was because of the extremely long wait and the growing feeling of that it may not happen at all. I stood 15 yards from Lindsey's mike for three and a half hours. When they hit second hand news the relieve in the arena was huge. What happened on stage was so lively I could almost touch it.

I can imagine that you were all afraid that any minute some arena spokesperson would come to the mic and say that the show was cancelled and tell you how to get a refund. So, when those lights went down I bet people went WILD.
Just looking at Landslide from that show is incredibly moving, so I'm sure words can't express how it felt like being there for the entire thing.

Stevie has stated, on the Behind the Music I think, that they were excellent lovers. ;)

I think Lindsey made that comment, in the context that they were good lovers, but not otherwise compatible.

I love it when Stevie and Lindsay sing to each other in Sara - "I'll go anywhere......just ask me and I'm there...." I've loved seeing in on the tour, knowing that they still are going anywhere and everywhere together :] And sometimes Lindsay can't help smiling when they sing it - so so cute!

Can't embed because I'm on my phone, but the end of this video is Lindsey's say goodbye speech from the second to last show.
He talks about how he's know Stevie since he was sixteen and they've been down a long road together and it's easy to take things for granted, but he now realizes that thy are at a point in their lives where you can't take anything for granted anymore, so he dedicates the song to Stevie.
Pretty heavy considering what we now know were the circumstances. Also very sweet.

If you look at this video, at the end around 3:07 Lindsey comes out and you can see their embrace from a different angel and actually see them talking - a little bit anyway.

I was in about row V. It was a brief shout out to his wife/kids in the middle of one of his speeches, can't remember the exacts. I watched him through most of the song, which he spent mostly locked eyes with her as well though I wasn't close up enough to really see that great in terms of emotional content. I was more focused on listening because it was just so beautiful. Energy/emotion wise the show was the most exciting/memorable at least for me since 97 when Christine was with the group. They seemed a little tighter as a band than in the 2009 tour.

Stevie couldn't take her eyes off Lindsey the whole night. I honestly didn't look at him much because I ended up planted right at Stevie's feet, and once I was right there it's really hard to look away from her. The pain on her face during Say Goodbye was heartbreaking - she was definitely trying to hold back a full on breakdown, she was shaking a little like she was trying to hold everything in. There's the obvious stuff like the I love you's/"let's go home, Lindsey," and the SG dedication. During the, "I think I had met my match," lyric in Sara, she turned to Lindsey and gestured out to him and he kind of turned and walked over toward her. All kinds of smiles to each other all night, and so much love between them.
When my friends and I got back to our hotel, the power was out in a certain part so we joked that the sparks flying between Stevie and Lindsey broke Vegas, lol.

So his wife and kids were there. I was wondering if they were there or not. I still don't see how Kristen can handle it. Even if you say it's all for show, it's still got to hurt to see your husband on stage telling his Ex he loves her and giving beautiful dedications to her.
Whether it's friends or anything else the fact is Lindsey does actually loves Stevie. I don't see how anyone can dispute that. Mick has said it multiple times, Lindsey's has now said it on stage (obviously in front of his wife and kids) and Stevie's alluded to it in past interviews, and she even went as far as to say Lindsey is still sorry they ever broke up and if he had it to do all over again he would do things differently (I'm assuming she got this information from talking directly to Lindsey) and the loving and sweet talk between the two of them has only gotten stronger and stronger as the tour has progressed.
I don't think for one minute that Kristen doesn't like and isn't mad about it, but Lindsey does what he want's to do and you either fall in line or move on.
I've always wondered....how do you explain this all to your kids?? I know you can tell them that it's all for show and Stevie is Daddy's long time "special friend", but it's got to be confusing to them, especially Stella. Stevie comes to your house to work with daddy and is eats dinner with you and your family. Then you get to see daddy up on stage saying I love you Stevie and acting so sweet and loving towards his band mate/friend/ex-girlfriend.
It's a really messed up situation all together. The best thing for both of them when they first broke up would have been for them to just have made a clean break of it and to have never seen each other again, but then we would not have all that great Fleetwood Mac music to listen too.

You can love someone without being in love with them. I'm as big of a BN person as anyone, but I don't think there's anything bizarre about telling someone you've known for nearly half a century that you love them (although, it IS especially touching to hear it between the two of them given their roller-coaster history) so I don't think that it would require some grand explanation to his kids. You love lots of people in life, not just people that you date/marry. It's not as if Lindsey's children don't know Stevie and know they've been in a band together forever and I'm sure they probably also know they used to date. I just don't think it would be confusing - she's not a stranger, ya know?
I think they have fun up there messing with each other and being sentimental, and I think there's real love/adoration/annoyance/whatever other feelings behind it - I don't think it's all for show. But MOST of the stuff they do (there are some exceptions - neck kiss? kind of odd), while sweet and cute and all that jazz, I don't find to be totally out-of-line or cause for any sort of concern for his family. But I think I've said before that I'm an inherently emotional/touchy-feely person so maybe to others some of that seems totally weird. Or maybe I'm just becoming immune to the ridiculousness of Stevie & Lindsey's dynamic.

I agree with you there are many different kinds of love, but Stevie and Lindsey have a long and extremely documented relationship. When Stevie starts talking about how Lindsey blames Fleetwood Mac of their break up and wishes they had never joined, or the fact that (even now) he's still sorry they broke up and would do things differently if he could.. You have to think that maybe there's more to this relationship than just friendship. If he was/ is happily married or loves Stevie like a friend now, why is Lindsey still have these types of conversations with his ex girlfriend?
Also, (and I maybe totally wrong about this) but I'm not so sure his kids knew that Stevie was their dad's ex girlfriend. When Stevie did her WY story in front of Lindseys wife and kids the first time in May, 2013 she was very careful to retract parts of her story (ex: she didn't say things like... when me and Lindsey moved to LA together or when me and Lindsey lived together in L.A.) and also said she was Lindsey' s "friend" the girlfriend part of the story was dropped ..I originally thought she was being respectful to Lindseys wife and kids,(and maybe she was)but then something seemed to changed because the second time around in July, 2013 when they were in front of Lindseys wife and kids, Stevie all but made Lindsey do the "you have to take my girlfriend too " part of the story.... which to me he seemed very uncomfortable doing.
If his kids were aware that Stevie was Lindsey' s ex girlfriend then I don't see why Stevie changed her story the first time she told it in front of his kids and refered to herself as dad's friend unless the kids didn't know they use to date/live together and as they grew closer throughout the tour though it seems Stevie decided to stop pretending and wanted to be honest and not hide their past relationship anymore though I'm not sure why..

No, I don't think you could ever classify Stevie and Lindsey as plain old friends - like you said, there's too much baggage/history/drama between the two of them.
I just don't think any of that negates the possibility of also loving someone in a completely non-romantic way on top of all the messy stuff. I've heard many a divorced couple express sentiments to the same effect.
Also, (and I maybe totally wrong about this) but I'm not so sure his kids knew that Stevie was their dad's ex girlfriend. I think it's highly, highly unlikely that his children don't know they used to be an item. I've never known any parents to hide the fact that they had other relationships before their marriage from their kids - it'd be pretty pointless and silly if they did. And it seems especially pointless and silly if those people are still a part of their life, and even more pointless and silly if those relationships are public knowledge and heavily discussed, which is the case with Stevie and Lindsey. They probably don't go around talking about it all the time, and Lindsey's children probably don't know a whole bunch of details, but I'd bet my left pinky toe that they're aware.

Plus, Lindsey's older kids have seen American Idol and Glee and probably saw the FM comments on those shows and it's his son who got Lindsey on TMZ. Will pointed out the cameras to him. If he knows what TMZ is, he knows about celebrity dirt.
They aren't dependent on their parents for their information any longer. Even when Will was much smaller, Lindsey said that the kid asked him about Tusk and then when he passed his bedroom he heard his son listening to Tusk music on his ipod. He was free to download music of his own choosing back when he was just 10 years old. So, I think they probably know anything about their dad's past that they're interested in. It's probably boring to them.
I don't think there's much romantic about SnL interaction these days. I think it had a much less platonic vibe around The Dance than it does now. And I think the SYW tour was tense. But now, it seems like a family show to me. In fact, while I could see Kristen getting upset if Lindsey was making eyes at someone like Vanessa Carlton, when it comes to anyone in FM, if any of the four still want to sleep with him after 30 or 40 years of hearing how they tried to make him use a pick, more power to them.

All I can say is that hearing their voices and the catches in the words during SG, as his wife, I would have been very upset. From the back of the concert hall, I was crying when they sang that song. So for someone who would know him much better like she would, and would be closer to the stage, how could you not find that upsetting? I agree! If I were Kristen, and saw all that emotion I would be upset. I mean you can't fake that. But she has to be aware of their feelings toward eachother and just wishes for the end of the tour. In my opinion she knows she has him everyday, but it's obvious Stevie has his heart.

Yes, end of touring must be a thrilling prospect - it means he can go hide out in his studio, writing and demoing up songs about Stevie like Miss Fantasy and It Takes Time. How reassuring...
Maybe I've just been holding out too long
And maybe I couldn't admit I was wrong
And maybe I've just been lying to myself

Slow down, baby

Well I get the sense that being with Kristen, having Will, he grew up a little and saw that this was the path he should be on (with them) and I think that *that* finally allowed him to let go of Stevie and hopes they would ever get back together.. and letting go of that hope seemed to have let him let go of all the anger he still had about her leaving him, and once he let all that go he was able to look back on that whole relationship with a new objectivity and being a writer, you want to write about that stuff. A lot of his material to me seems to have been about recognizing his own behavior in that whole time period, warts and all, and acknowledging it.

this goes well with what Christine said about him as a person in that Jan 1st BBC interview. she said he used to be abrasive and it was hard to have a normal conversation with him, outside the musical synergy she had with him. but that once he had a family and settled down, he is now a totally changed and extremely lovely person.
i'm glad she said that, because it seems that most people either think that he was always nice (but nobody could see it :p ), or he was always a dick and is still the same. neither of those descriptions fit with all his angry and aggressive behavior in the past or with the very normal and warm man many fans had the opportunity to meet over the last two years. Christine's description of him fits perfectly with the change in his behavior and character.

Oh, I don't think he was always nice. I think he was sometimes nice even in the early days, but mercurial. I think he's more even-keeled now, but still has his moments.

I just don't think any of that negates the possibility of also loving someone in a completely non-romantic way on top of all the messy stuff. I've heard many a divorced couple express sentiments to the same effect.
It's not that I think Lindsey was/or would hide his past romantic relationship with Stevie from his kids, but they are young and I can't imagine that talking with your kids about your past romance with a current band mate is very comfortable or something you really want to discuss with them when they are only (Stella 9, Lee Lee 13, Will 15). Do you really want to tell any of your kids that young that you lived with (considered yourself married to) a current band mate and then answer all the inevitable questions of what happened from your kids? My bet is the Lindsey would want to delay that discussion for as long as possible, because let's face it, his actions during the first 12 years he was in Fleetwood Mac were not great and I doubt he would really want to discuss all with his kids.
Lindsey also said that none of his kids were really Fleetwood Mac fan's and he wasn't' sure they had even heard a complete album.
I know they go to school and have friends, but I don't think Fleetwood Mac is really big in elementary schools or even junior high/middle school. Maybe they would be well known in high school (Will), but I'm not sure they would know or care enough to find out the history of the band so they could relay the information to Lindsey's kids.
I could see that maybe Lindsey's talked to Will, and Lee Lee about it NOW. Like I said Stevie had to pretty much force him to say the "you have to take my girlfriend too" line of the WY story back in July 2013. So if they didn't know, they do now.

Lindsey said in the past that his kids hear about FM through the parents of their friends and hearing about him from others has given them a sense of history or pride. He mentioned that even before Glee did a Rumours show and Stevie appeared on American Idol and I know that Glee is something LeeLee once liked.
Presumably, the parents wouldn't be telling the kids about the band's history of drug use and other tawdry tales, but they have access to that information if they care to do a search of the band's history at all.

Growing up I always heard stories about my mom's past boyfriends and stuff. There was Phillip the body builder that dated for a few years and lived with, creepy Steve from down the street that she went to homecoming with, an Iranian fellow (whose name now escapes me) she dated in college who kept calling her old work asking for like 10 years after they broke up... her bosses son Buzzy who was always in love with her and probably still is to this day.. the list goes on. I never thought any of that was strange because it was always mentioned casually and my mom never tried to hide it. If you don't treat something like a big deal, your kids aren't going to think it's a big deal, either, you know?
It probably WOULD be awkward if one day Lindsey/Kristen/whoever made some production about it and had them all sit down for "the talk" where they revealed he and Stevie used to be a couple - that would be uncomfortable, for sure, because it's making it into this serious ordeal, when I don't think it really is (in the scheme of his children's lives). So I don't imagine anything like that would happen - I think it's more likely that they just grew up knowing that they used to date, and therefore probably don't give a second thought to the matter at all.
Obviously, I don't know any of these people. I could be way off. But like Michele said, his children are pretty grown up now - 9, 13, and 15 aren't exactly little toddlers. 9 year olds have iPhones nowadays. So I just find it hard to imagine that they've been completely in the dark regarding Lindsey/Stevie their entire lives until now.

I agree. They probably speak of her quite regularly since he does tour with her every few years... Plus how could he explain the chemistry they have on stage because i'm sure they'e seen at least one concert, i can guarantee it! It's a good thing hey know otherwise if I were them i'd be concerned he's cheating. Anyway; without getting into Buckingham Nicks chemistry i'll leave it at that. I don't believe that they have a close relationship at all with her like it is written in fanfics. I mean think about it; you're father's ex girlfriend that is constantly compared to rich famous rockstar. I'd choose my mothers side no matter what. So the odds are maybe the children don't even like Stevie...

I'm not saying they don't know who Stevie is or that they don't know Dad's been a member of FM for the past 38 years. The obviously know all that. I was saying I don't think they knew that Dad and Stevie lived together (maybe they knew they dated, but that's different than living together and believing your married to someone) and as young as they are (except Will) I doubt Lindsey's told them much about his first 12 years with FM.
I don't think it would have to be a " talk" either where you sit your kids down and explain your whole past history, but depending on the kid when you mention something about your past there are questions (especially from girls. Guy's usually don't care or don't want to talk about it) so it would be reasonable to me that Lindsey would not have said much to his kids about his FM history with Stevie. However, I'm willing to admit that maybe I am completely off base on this one.
I just seemed strange to me that when Stevie did the first WY intro in front of Lindsey's kids she was VERY careful about what she said, she only called herself "the girl" rather than Lindsey's girlfriend and redacted or glossed over some S&L history. Then on the second go around for some reason she was not so careful about her story and Daddy had to do the "you gotta take my girlfriend too" line in front of his kids. The only reason I could see that Stevie would be careful of what she said the first time around, was because Lindsey's kids were there and did not know a lot of S&L history, so she was trying to not tell them any more than Lindsey wanted them to know. However why she was not so careful the second time around I don't know.

Maybe I've just been holding out too long
And maybe I couldn't admit I was wrong
And maybe I've just been lying to myself
And no one else
Slow down, baby
Cross that line
If you want to save me
It takes time
Maybe I've wasted all this precious time
Trying to prove what is and isn't mine
Wondering to myself if you knew
It was all for you
Has she ever voiced her opinion on this? I haven't heard anything about her really except her career and she's married to Lindsey and they have children!

Yes, I made fun of Stevie's choice of words at the Hollywood Bowl show I attended. It was a marked contrast from what she'd said before.
Regarding the kids, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have a talk with them. I just think they probably know independently because the oldest two have been on the internet awhile. Of course, you might not google your own parents, because you might consider them boring. Hard to say.

Christine's description of him fits perfectly with the change in his behavior and character.
I would also say that I think another part of the problem in Lindsey's past wasn't negative per se. It was anti-social, like someone who might have Asperger's. His focus was so single-minded that you couldn't shoot the breeze with him about anything. You couldn't socialize, because he had no life.
There's a video of him strumming a guitar while Richard and others are having a conversation with him and his interests are very single-minded and isolated. I think he was like that a lot, based on Stevie's complaints about him when they lived together.
The whole band got tired of his intense concentration. I get the impression he was someone who might have been at last night's party with you, but if you thought you were going to talk to him about it the next day you were wrong. The next day he'd be giving you a treatise on making the guitar sound like a violin.

Most kids think their mother is wonderful and beautiful, even if she isn't. People tend to have a conceit about their parents, that's a little blind. I would think it would not even occur to them that their father would be attracted to Stevie over their mom today, no matter what they see on stage.

No kidding, I agree 100%...........
I remember him saying that he wrote it when he took leave of Fleetwood Mac at the start of the TITN tour. He said that in the Soundstage Sessions video, just before he sang it with Stevie. That was in 2005, and that was the first time I thought, "oh, wow, I don't think Kristen should see this."
He referred to the song during the tour as being from 10 years ago. I guess because it was on Say You Will. He was married 13 years ago, and had Will 15 years ago. So it was still an important song to him even after he was married.
Say Goodbye? Yes. Lindsey's taken a page out of Stevie's handbook and is lying instead of just evading, bless. He was previously very clear on when it was written - after 'taking leave of the band' a long time ago. He's just retconned it, saying it was 'written' for SYW recently when that was merely when FM recorded it. I have my thoughts on why he's done this but *shrugs*. Either way, the changing meaning of the song (well, the changing explanation of the song) amuses me A LOT. I mean, closure isn't a new thing though back in 2003 it was the 'beginning' of closure they were getting, lol. From memory, so forgive error.
The very first show of the year Stevie told us she loves singing it with him and Lindsey started up with his talk about how it represents closure and so on, also informing us that it's funny because he and Stevie are probably closer than they've been since the early seventies. Nice to know...
So as the tour progressed we go from lots of CLOSURE CLOSURE CLOSURE to talk to Say Goodbye being about:
- needing illusions in order to dream
- needing to cast away illusions in order to grow
(Well, did she make you cry,
Make you break down,
Shatter your illusions of love?)
- acceptance
- faith
- resolve for the future
As he said in an interview "All those illusions have fallen away, but that doesn't mean that there isn't resolve and hope and belief in the future in a different context."
I do so love a good evolution in explanation... My favourite, however, was this fun one back when it was still about getting closure in Philly.
"This is a song I wrote about Stevie maybe 10 years ago and, uh, it's about closure. As much as the (?) dialogue between the two of us can be *laughs* (?) and I think we're still trying to find it, right? (?) Or maybe we're not. I don't know. Anyway, it's incredible after all this time that there (?) seem to be a few chapters here between these two people. I don't understand. *laughs*
Okay, first of all Lindsey, you write this in 1987 according to other tours... ;) Also, you were writing about getting closure in your r'ship with Stevie back in 1987 but thought it's time was right in 2003 and yet you STILL think you guys are trying to find that closure in 2013. Except NOT. Because 'MAYBE WE'RE NOT. I DON'T KNOW'. UM, WTF? :D So, you don't think you ever found that closure and perhaps you're not even bothering to try and get that closure anymore? EMBRACE THAT LOVE, GUYS. :D

While I'm putting my few cents worth on this thread, have at this. Basically it started months and months ago when I noted some fun lyrical repetitions on Seeds We Sow. We know Lindsey likes to talk about he and Stevie dialoguing in song and he's said many of his songs are about her. So...
Had a dream that you reached for me in the night / Touched me soft and slow
Everything was wrong but everything was right / Oh, the seeds we sow
Fire still burning, in a while she’ll make it rain / These rooms are all falling down, they couldn’t stand the strain
And the same old dream, she was hiding outside my door / She used to come from time to time but not any more
I wake up in the middle of the night / With you in my heart / With you in my heart
I can’t touch you any more / It causes you harm
When you’re waiting for your ocean to rise / All alone at night long after I’ve gone
And your conversations all end in lies / And you wake up singing one of my songs
-
By theme/word. Basically, I've included stuff from Lindsey's last three albums (including covers), from Stevie's TISL and IYD and then FM's SYW and the EP.

-

BRAVO Nichole :blob1: you definitely did your research.
I remember reading an interview with Kristen where she talks about meeting Lindsey for the first time & she said she knew who he was... And that he was in Fleetwood Mac, etc etc. Even if she didn't know all his history with Stevie up front I'm sure he had some explaining to do... So Kristen knew what she was getting into. And obviously the Stevie thing did not come between them... After all, Kristen & Lindsey have been together for how many years? if Stevie was going to come between them, seems like it woulda happened by now.
During the past three tours there have been questionable Stevie & Lindsey shipper stage moments- with this tour being the one with the most love & affection shared on stage...but Lindsey still goes home to Kristen & the kids & he's probably pretty happy with that. Also it doesn't seem like Stevie & Lindsey keep in close contact in between tours... So Lindsey is back to his real life with the wife & kids for years between tours. Kristen could put her foot down if she wasn't happy with Lindsey's relationship with Stevie...resulting in either him quitting Fleetwood Mac or him quitting her. Once again, neither of those things has happened...
Now on the Stevie end of things- she has mentioned how much she adores Lindsey's children & I'd bet money that she shows Kristen a great deal of kindness & doesn't try to intimidate her... Stevie just doesn't seem like the type (now at least- when she was younger yeah probably). She may have a little streak of that in her every now & then so I have wondered if sometimes she says things about Lindsey just because she can... Because she is Stevie Nicks! And darn it, she coulda had Lindsey if she wanted him- but she broke up with him...If she had ever really really really wanted him back, she probably could of had him. It might have taken a little more effort after he got with Kristen but Stevie could have made it happen.
As far as Lindsey's kids...well, if I found out my dad used to date Stevie Nicks (like a million years ago) I would think it was the coolest thing ever! But at the ages Lindsey's kids are now- they probably wouldn't think much about it. The only person their dad is with now is their mom. Thats what they know.
Of course this is all just my opinion on the matter.. For what its worth...

HIDING/DOOR/ROOM

Slow down, baby / Cross that line

ITA. I bet if she wanted him back she could have him easily but she never has/doesn't want to/hasn't tried. I've always thought (despite his marriage) he's always (still) loved her more than she loves him. So it probably wouldn't take too much on her part to take him back...if she was inclined.

And I've always thought that neither has loved the other more than they've loved their own temperament and stubborn wills. They were both the type to have big arguments and leave. Sausalito and Aspen are probably only two examples of when Lindsey has left angrily.
The only way she could "get him back" is if she changed or stifled her personality. The only way he could "keep her" is if he changed his. Neither was ever likely to change for the other. He's never been the type who says, "if you take me back I'll be different." Getting Lindsey back is like getting a tiger by the tail. That's why she's written that he wouldn't let her love him. It's not like he'd make a docile return to her arms, if only she'd have him. He's never loved her enough to change for her and I think she did change for him, although she might have done that for her career more than for love. But I see the reason they stayed apart is because both would have to suppress too much of themselves to stay together. They'd have to stop being who they are. And who they are is what creates the passion and the conflict.

from all the stories sounds like she tried. succeeded. and then pulled back. for decades, that same circle. that's why she had him so hooked and why he was so messed up for so long.

no, i think it's over now, as far as he's concerned. he's done and seems to find her and her quirks endearing now. maybe she actually does want him now or more probable she likes the idea of them as that whole power couple thing / the one that got away drama - even more because she can't have him, anymore. it may be just an act, a fodder that she uses in her interviews, and she actually doesn't care or has some healthy relationship going that nobody knows about, but from what she says it kinda sounds like she never grew up, relationship-wise. he finally did.
And I've always thought that neither has loved the other more than they've loved their own temperament and stubborn wills.
well yeah, but that doesn't make nearly as big or romantic story.

Those are very good points. I agree with you about the kids only knowing their mom and dad in the context that they do. They are too young to imagine anything else.
I do remember Kristen saying in an interview that she really didn't have any clue about the "spectre of Stevie." My guess is she was too young to have witnessed all the tabloid info about the 2 of them.
I agree with you about Stevie's personality and her not wanting to intimidate Kristen. If she really wanted to, I think she could. I think she and Lindsey still have enough between them to do so.
The Rolling Stone article I was reading today had Lindsey asking the interviewer where Stevie was, what did she say, etc. It sounded to me like they don't have a ton of interaction inbetween working together, but that he would like to know more about her.
Does anyone remember the story about Lindsey and Stevie getting very cozy during The Dance, even though he had been dating Kristen? Apparently he got a phone call stating that Kristen had found out she was pregnant, and so he felt he had to go back to her, so left Stevie. And that that was what Thrown Down was written about, and the poignant singing of Silver Springs on The Dance video?????? Maybe I just make these snippets up in my mind..................................................... If I am wrong, please let me know.

Hi again you lovely people,
I'm not sure we've had a thread for really intimate pictures of Stevie & Lindsey on here...
I thought we should post some pictures of them being all cute with each other, like hugging and kissing and stuff, if we can find many?
This includes on stage pictures too, maybe from recent years ^-^
Thanks,

They dressed like that for the Unleashed tour. That's why the guy on SNL dressed like that when he played Lindsey. Lindsey said that the actor was even wearing his "costume" which I found totally annoying. I guess if you consider it a costume, you are not going to change your shirt.
I believe Stevie had two identical dresses and one was red, although a more muted red than Lindsey's tee. Michele

Doing passionate love affairs the celebrity way
Posted by Chrissy on February 11, 2012 in Celebrities, Relationships ·
LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE.
The desperate, all-consuming, ‘I can’t breathe when you’re not here’, split-apart-souls-finding-each-other kind of love. I’m sure we’ve all felt it at one time or another, perhaps even right now, but none of us are anywhere near interesting enough to warrant an entire piece on Le Blow, therefore I must cast my eyes into the world of celebrity.
The sheer intensity of some famous couples who have lived out their romance in the public eye can be fascinating. It’s a cliché, but the phrase ‘art imitating life’ seems to turn completely around until their lives imitate the art we associate them with, making the idea of them ever more aspirational.
In honour of Saint Valentine, I’m going to look at two such couples who I feel represent the very idea of life imitating their art. I bet you thought I’d write something about how much I hate this money spinning sop-fest and give it a nice big sarcastic kick up the arse eh?
Well I’m sorry. I’m a ho-ro. (Hopeless Romantic. That’s how the kids say it now, right?)
Lindsey Buckingham // Stevie Nicks
I decided to have a listen to my old MP3 player the other day, hadn’t used it in ages.
Once charged I pressed play, and the song I’d been listening to before the battery breathed it’s last was Thrown Down by Fleetwood Mac.
There are a lot of reasons why I love this song. I’m a huge fan of the band themselves, and it’s a very good tune, but the main draw for this one is the subject matter.
Stevie Nicks wrote the song, and it’s about a time when she and Buckingham had started to grow close to each other once more.
He fell for her again…she watched it happen…
Unfortunately (for Nicks), Buckingham’s then girlfriend announced she was pregnant and he did the honourable thing. But the pain of her loss for a second time is evident in the lyrics.
You say you’re sorry, now you should walk away…but it’s so overwhelming, you have nothing left to say.
Thus ended, for a second time, probably the most intense relationship in music history.

Nicks and Buckingham had met in the 1960’s, formed a band together called Fritz, and as time went on became a couple. The relationship was always a tumultuous one, with two ambitious and passionate musicians involved, it couldn’t be anything else.
They joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975, revitalising the line-up and helping them to become one of the most successful acts of the 70’s and 80’s. But band pressures, and the passionate nature of the Nicks/Buckingham relationship caused their romance to unravel, an event captured in the lyrics of certain ‘Rumours’ tracks. Easily spotted, so I won’t ruin it for you, you can make a game of it one afternoon when you’re bored.
Another song written by Nicks during the recording of Rumours entitled ‘Silver Springs’ didn’t make it on to the album, but gives great insight into her view of the relationship at that time.
Time casts a spell on you, but you won’t forget me…I know I could have loved you, but you would not let me.
At the height of their romance, the couple lived together for six years, with Nicks remarking it was the closest thing to being married she’d ever experienced. Nicks married once, but is divorced.
Buckingham is married with three children, but that means nothing to me. As far as I’m concerned they are star-crossed lovers, souls intertwined, thank you very much, goodnight, THE END.
You know, when Lindsey and I go back and forth on the songs that were written between the two of us, for that moment, we are back in love again.
~ Stevie Nicks, BAM Magazine, August 22, 1997
Richard Burton // Elizabeth Taylor
The beautiful Elizabeth Taylor was buried with the last ever love letter Richard Burton had sent to her. Supposedly in it, he had asked for another chance, saying he was at his happiest with Elizabeth.
Everyone knows the Burton-Taylor romance was an intense one. Describing his first sight of a 19-year-old Elizabeth, Burton said, ‘she was so extraordinarily beautiful, I wanted to laugh out loud.’
Fate and marriages to others conspired to keep the two apart, but when they met again during the filming of the epic film ‘Cleopatra’ in 1961, nothing was going to stop them. Even the fact that they were both married during this time seemed of little consequence, their rampant lovemaking during filming breaks was renowned.
But the greatest passions are always stormy. We know Burton and Taylor got married twice, but until fairly recently we weren’t really aware of how this great love storm was documented in a series of letters sent between the two throughout their romance. Burton’s feelings for Taylor are clear, as well as his deeply poetic nature:
Well, first of all, you must realise that I worship you. Second of all, at the expense of seeming repetitive, I love you. Thirdly, and here I go again with my enormous command of language, I can’t live without you. And I am afraid. Afeared. In terms of my life, scared. Lost. Alone. Dull. Dumb.
Is it not enough that they are both incredibly attractive, talented, rich? They also get to have a love like this? A love so strong and passionate that it ends up destroying and rediscovering itself twice? Burton and Taylor are the kind of celebrity romance I aspire to… though it had more ups and downs than a trampoline, I bet the ups made them feel more alive than most ever feel. The pain and longing of the downs would be exsquisite.

My opinion may be slightly rose-tinted and WEIRD, I admit, but I’ve always been of the belief that it’s better to live life at your maximum speed than just trundle along in the bus lane criticising other drivers. This is never truer than when in reference to love.
Don’t be scared to make a move if there’s someone you like. They may be your Buckingham, your Taylor, the other half that you’ve been quietly waiting for. If you do find them, every single day will be the most romantic one of your life and you’ll no longer have need of Saint Valentine.
I am forever punished by the gods for being given the fire and trying to put it out. The fire, of course, is you…
Although… who wouldn’t want a card on the 14th with THAT written inside?

from all the stories sounds like she tried. succeeded. and then pulled back. for decades, that same circle. that's why she had him so hooked and why he was so messed up for so long.
no, i think it's over now, as far as he's concerned. he's done and seems to find her and her quirks endearing now. maybe she actually does want him now or more probable she likes the idea of them as that whole power couple thing / the one that got away drama - even more because she can't have him, anymore. it may be just an act, a fodder that she uses in her interviews, and she actually doesn't care or has some healthy relationship going that nobody knows about, but from what she says it kinda sounds like she never grew up, relationship-wise. he finally did.[/B]

aww, love it when he goes off the script!
here's Michele's description of that (from http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showpost.php?p=1104603&postcount=92):
"When she turns the story over to Lindsey, he (fake) blusters and finally says that when Mick called him he said that he wouldn’t come without his girlfriend because he loved her that much. She bows to him. Then he adds, “And look where that got me.” Stevie howls, “No you DIDN’T just say that?!”
Lindsey scurries to Mick’s side and Stevie says he is hiding behind Mick. She advises Mick to just hit Lindsey with the sticks. "

Thankfully, that banter goes away after the return of one songbird...
