Working on a Response to a Motion for Summary Judgment - and nervous about it 'cause I've never filed electronically before, and it's mandatory for this particular court.

i was thinking about your brother earlier. hopefully that just means he's too busy with things to write. it used to take my brother days to write one letter when he was in basic.

Regretting not telling Dee to have NYS take an extra $4 or $5 out of each check while she worked here so she wouldn't end up owing them anything. :sorry:
Yeah...no one else bothered to tell me that either  But it's ok - I will get back plenty - and that will cover what I owe NY and I'll still have a nice little chunk to put into savings (after I buy Golden Girls S.5  )
Right now I'm seriously on the verge of tears - it's so damn cold again. We're below zero again, there is a wind chill advisory in effect - the wind chill could drop to around 25 below.
This morning was literally painful. I mean pain. I'm sick to death of it....I miss being warm.
sigh.

It's totally OTT. I liked it more when I was younger and had a stronger taste for drama.
It is such chick music. If I listened to Tori and Sarah McLachlan for a few hours straight, I think the atmospheric estrogen might make me sprout tits.

I injured in the exact place I fractured it on Feb.7,2003 (I remember the date because the July 1,2003 Fleetwood Mac show in OKC was announced that morning). The pain goes all the way up to my hip, so who knows what happened...Either I caught my in the blankets or my foot became wedged between the side boards of the waterbed & the mattress.

That is funny, an hour ago, I sketched a pic of my braids in anticipation of having to explain them. Moments later I wondered why I thought anyone would care.
I had to do it in pen to show up, but my braids are the ones with curly ends. They're just tiny braids I started right behind my bangs to sort of dilineate that edge. So they are just two little tiny braids behind my bangs. If you braid your hair at night, it "grows faster" (doesn't break off as much) so I'm doing a little experiment. Plus it is cute. :D I rebraid them once a week or so. And of course I braid the rest of my hair every night, or nearly so.
In retrospect, this should have been bigger, but the darker parts with curl ends represent my little braids.

The pic was just to illustrate my braids, and it looked better when it was in pencil before I had to outline it in pen. Do you understand where my braids are? And, i kinda do look like that...
Seriously, making one braid in the back is too hard for you? That is kinda sad. I mean, you just gather your hair at the back in your hands, and start braiding. Just one braid.
One time I braided all my friends hair, all in teeny tiny braids, it took about fifteen hours, because it was almost to her waist. Looked cute, though, she was the talk of the town those few weeks.
Then I had my hair all in braids, too, but my hair is a bit thin for that.

yeah, you got it, they go down the same side, because my bangs are "side part". I didn't think you were being an asshole - but I have drawn better pictures.
Okay, so then, if you can just quickly do one braid down your back before you go to bed at night, your hair will "grow" faster. I have a hard time doing french braids on myself, as well. This is just a utilitarian night braid to keep hair from breaking off.
The most hair breaks off at night on your pillow.
Everyone me or my mom (going back to olden days) have told to braid their hair at night if they want it to grow longer, has worked. Including myself. And my mom's hair right now is about to her waist. And we have thin, crappy hair.
*to be clear, it doesn't grow faster, it just breaks off much less, which of course makes it seem to be growing better.

it's past my shoulders, which in my book is "way too long." not for other people, just for me. i can't stand how it feels, and my hair gets exponentially less cute the longer it gets. i just can't rock the long hair. plus, my face is so round that long hair just looks too flat and my face looks even weirder and rounder in contrast.

it's past my shoulders, which in my book is "way too long." not for other people, just for me. i can't stand how it feels, and my hair gets exponentially less cute the longer it gets. i just can't rock the long hair. plus, my face is so round that long hair just looks too flat and my face looks even weirder and rounder in contrast.
Hmmm. This is complex, but I understand what you are saying. I would have to actually see your face to concur, but I suspect you are right. Long hair is universally prettier, but it's not for everyone. However, my face is the actual shape of the moon, so I probably have some idea of what you mean. However, chin and shoulder length is the worst for me. A cute bob at the chinline (if I'm thin), is cool. And long hair is okay...but I have some flatness and stuff too.
I'm sure you know how your hair looks best. I remember when I lost tons of weight (you know, those 7 lbs?) in my early 20's, I busted out with the above chin length bob (curled right under my cheekbones) and rocked it hard (I had always had long hair). I was so cute and piquant, it went so well with my collarbones.
So, basically my point is, I believe you.

had there not been a book, the movie would've been ok. but since the book was so amazingly insightful and full of facts and details and imagery, plus it was face paced...the movie couldn't keep up. not necessarily Tom or anyone involed in the movie's fault, just is what it is.

Well nothing major - just a little life things, I'd rather not discuss on the Ledge :o But really I'm fine and I have to keep telling myself that...I live such an amazing and privelaged life and I have so much to be thankful for...sometimes telling myself that over and over and doing breathing exercises helps ease the anxiety so I can at least get to sleep - unfortunately lately the sleep has been plagued by the most bizarre and sometimes unpleasnat dreams.

...anxiety does suck donkey balls...I have slept horribly the last two weeks... .
which are you? fall asleep right away and then wake up at like, 4am, and lie there tossing and turning for 3-4 hours?
or do you do your tossing and turning and angsting right away?
i've been having lots of sleeping problems, too, lately. past month or so. i think i don't relax enough before i go to sleep (i mostly fall asleep and then wake up 3 hours later, and stay awake until about a half hour before my alarm goes off. except sundays, when i just don't go to sleep at all). it's SO annoying. i'm not angsting, i'm just thinkingthinkingthinking. it's like my mind doesn't turn off. my job has become more high stress, and most nights, i leave pretty keyed up. i think i need to get a yoga dvd.
hope you're sleeping better.. :)
Now I'm cleaning all the dog hair off the couch  It's EVERYWHERE.
yeah, did some of that myself this weekend. the worst place in my house is my own bed. depressing as it sounds, it's a good thing no one is sharing my bed right now. i honestly don't mind her fur on my bed - but if i think too hard about it, about how she rooooolls on the ground, it grosses me out. she has recently decided that sleeping beside me isn't enough. i wake up with har face RIGHT in my face - on my pillow. what can i do? totally melts my heart. :o

I'm laughing at my, Paula's, and Amby's locations:
Paula: On my cliff. Dwelling
Amber: At the top of the stairs. Being Dark.
Mine: In the fog, tracking a ghost.

And now I'm laughing at same, as I didn't previously see that you were in the fog, tracking a ghost. Extra points for Angel reference. :xoxo:

Yuck! Have you taken anything? If it's that localized it sounds like it could be sinus related...do you usually have sinus issues?

No, I haven't. It's not even like a headache pain, just a pressure, I guess. It started last night... I went to wipe off my makeup and pressed the side of my nose, and it started hurting. It was gone when I woke up, but came back, and I had a lovely panic attack thinking of all the things it could be. What a loser.

We've done that actually a couple of times for her birthday, but good idea. I think we've pretty much done everything. The movies, dinner, mini golf, bowling, skating, even horseback riding. Is The Catnip Effect Dangerous for Your Cat?
Your cat, your loving and lovable family pet is not usually what you would call a bundle of energy. In fact she spends a good deal of the day taking a siesta. When she moves she does so at her own pace and in her own time.
But should your sedate kitty have a whiff of catnip . . . well, wop bop a lula blim bam boom! The party is on baby. Suddenly your cat is rollicking and rolling around, frisky, excited and running about as if the catnip effect has turned back the clock and she is a kitten once again.
Then as little as two, but up to fifteen minutes later your cat is back to her slothful, normal self, the effect completely worn off.
What causes the catnip effect, why do cats react in to it in that way?
First, not all cats do react to catnip. It is estimated that one third to half of the domestic cat population is unaffected by the herb. The reaction to catnip is inherited. Kittens that have only one parent that reacts, have a one in two chance of reacting themselves, and kittens that have parents that both react have a three in four chance. Kittens under three to four months old do not usually react to catnip at all, and with older cats the catnip effect is considerably lessened.
Also, if a cat that would normally have a reaction to catnip is in a threatening situation, or is outside of its usual surroundings, it may not respond to the catnip.
Anyway, as to what causes the catnip effect, the experts do know that nepetalactone, an oil found in catnip, causes cats that are sensitive to it to go ga-ga. What they don't know is why certain cats react that way.
It's not just the domestic cat that can experience the catnip effect. Big cats too can react to it; lions, leopards, cheetahs and pumas can get catnip high but interestingly not tigers.
When a cat finds catnip it will usually sniff at it, rub up against it, lick it and nibble at it. It is the sniffing at it that gets the reaction, it is thought that cats nibble and rub against the catnip to bruise it and thereby cause more of the nepetalactone oil to be released. Strangely, if a cat actually eats the catnip it will likely act as a sedative as opposed to giving the kitty a high.
So, is catnip dangerous for your kitty? After all, the response that some felines have to catnip is not unlike the response that some humans have to stuff that they shouldn't smoke.
Although it said that catnip is bio-chemically related to cannabis cats will come to no harm by enjoying it and will not become dependent. The catnip effect very seldom lasts longer than 15 minutes maximum until the cat loses interest. After this a cat will not react again for a minimum of one hour.
Not all cats react to the herb in exactly the same way though. The typical response is an uninhibited friskiness and silliness, but a few cats, usually male, become aggressive, or irritable, rather than frisky.
Catnip has long been thought safe for humans. It has been prescribed by herbalists to treat nervousness, stomach complaints, flatulence, and even smallpox! Its leaves have been chewed to relieve toothache and it has been drunk as a tea as a cough remedy. Catnip in the form of a poultice has been recommended to reduce swellings and as an ointment to relive piles.
The catnip effect is not dangerous for cats rather it is a very effective kitty treat for some felines, those that are susceptible to it, to enjoy.

right now i am recovering from my snow extravaganza. decided (stupidly) to leave my house (the house i'm dogsitting at, actually) to go see my mother and get my mail, and realized that even tho we've gotten tons and tons and tons of snow, nothing has been plowed! i got stuck in the snow twice on the way over there (a 2.5 mile drive  ). then when i got home, maya wanted to play in the snow. so we went in the back yard for a bit and i threw the ball for her and ended up slipping and falling on my back (i'm praying this doesn't f up my sciatic nerve again), getting covered in snow, and then maya ran over, jumped over me, sprinkling snow all over me from above as well. i left, and it took me 5 minutes to get out of where i was parked. finally got stuck again in the driveway - had to shovel my way to the garage. for about 15 seconds i didn't give a **** about global warming and thought "wouldn't it be nice to have a mf'ing snow blower?"

Placing an order at PetSmart.com.
I can't believe I just spent $32.99 + tax for a big plastic tub for my cats to **** in! And tomorrow I get to spend more money to buy new bag of sand for them to **** on, and earlier today I bought a (roughly) $50.00 bag full of crunchy things (food) for them to use to produce more ****. $50.00! Premium food for premium ****, I guess. I also just spent $14.99 plus tax for a bag full of little paper pellets for my rat to **** on and a $6.00 bag of grains so that he might produce that ****. And today arrived the $20.00 box of bugs that I purchased from ReptileFood.com so that my toads can produce more ****, too.
Anybody interested in a motley bunch of critters that are cute but cost too damn much and make too much ****?

Last line sounds like something a friend said about his girlfriend and her friends once.  :D (He couldn't understand how they could use so much toilet paper all the time. Always was out in the bathroom)

Men gotta understand that we have to wipe both sides. There's no shaking it dry when you're a lady. And you need a nice thick pad of paper between your hand and your... stuff. You know? Can't risk actual contact.

It's the truth though. Women have to wipe after number 1, not just after number 2.

:D :p Just teasing. Your little fluffs appreciate the stuff you got for them. They would order their own stuff, but they don't have credit cards! :D

Yeah, but ya'all use it for makeup, and everything else. I used to live with two girls, and a four pack wouldn't last 4 days!!!!!!!!! That, is just crazy! I finally had to resort to hiding mine in my room, and carrying it to the bathroom.

Well... they do have their own card, it just happens to be in my name; I have a separate card reserved just for pet expenses (goes to show how much the ungrateful little turds cost me).
I suppose I should just be thankful that this time around I didn't have to spend money to buy food (a.k.a. "gut load") to feed to my toad food (a.k.a. "crickets") so that they could produce their own brand of ****. :distress:
I love them. Really. I'm just annoyed right now.
