being pissed off and annoyed.

i made plans this year to go to my friend's house in indiana for thanksgiving because i went last year and had a grand time. they're essentially my second family, and i love being around them ... but i found out that my brother may be able to come home for thanksgiving, so i decided not to go. i called to tell them, and they're pissed off at me. i could understand their disappointment (i mean, i'm so fab, y'know. ), but what am i supposed to do? i tried to meet them halfway and said i'd try to come out monday night and stay through wednesday, but my friend was like, "i don't know ... maybe you shouldn't come out at all." WTF. and not once did they say anything like, oh, that's great that your brother will be home for TG. just "you suck."

and my day was incredibly ****ty to start with. it was my day off, and i ended up going in anyway, and staying 2 hrs late, and getting yelled at for circs i couldn't control. oh, and i found out this week that my dad's back in jail. and i don't have anyone to talk to because my closest friends are mad at me.

so i'm just going to sit here and listen to emmylou.

But hey - our dads are jailbirds...jailbird dads unite...*highfive* Hmm..doesn't quite work I guess.

Anyway - that is really crappy how your friend's family reacted - I mean it's your BROTHER! Hopefully they'll come around and realize that they've reacted horribly. And it is sort of flattering, they obviously really wanted you there...

A slant on the what are you eating/listening to/drinking threads...

What are you doing right now?
.

Well.. I'm just alone at home crying from time to time.. waiting for the hospital call announcing my mom is dead. We all the family are just waiting..

for those who remember my thread " How do you prepare to say goodbye to your mother?", well now is the actual time. Dialisis was not enough and diabetes hit hard her health. It's been 10 days she is completely unconcious, not half concious like weeks ago, now she's completely asleep. Last exams showed she just god a brain stroke, kidney infection , etc. She won't make it, we already know. And she deserves peace. So I'm sad but resignated. That's it.

That's what I'm doing right now. Waiting.

Listening to Stevie live at the Ohio Stae Fair 1994. Drinking beer. Becoming more & more annoyed at my much slower than usual internet connection tonight.

How's the weather up your way?

Weather's been very dreary, raining a lot. But not too cold & no snow. So I guess I can't complain too much.

Well I was a step down - drove agressively and freaked out all the blue-hairs on the road. I figured picking off pedestrians would then dirty up my car, and really it's too cold to wash it - and I don't like dealing with the "where did all this blood come from" from washes that do it for ya....too much trouble (as most people are).

being pissed off and annoyed.

i made plans this year to go to my friend's house in indiana for thanksgiving because i went last year and had a grand time. they're essentially my second family, and i love being around them ... but i found out that my brother may be able to come home for thanksgiving, so i decided not to go. i called to tell them, and they're pissed off at me. i could understand their disappointment (i mean, i'm so fab, y'know. ), but what am i supposed to do? i tried to meet them halfway and said i'd try to come out monday night and stay through wednesday, but my friend was like, "i don't know ... maybe you shouldn't come out at all." WTF. and not once did they say anything like, oh, that's great that your brother will be home for TG. just "you suck."

and my day was incredibly ****ty to start with. it was my day off, and i ended up going in anyway, and staying 2 hrs late, and getting yelled at for circs i couldn't control. oh, and i found out this week that my dad's back in jail. and i don't have anyone to talk to because my closest friends are mad at me.

so i'm just going to sit here and listen to emmylou.

Omigosh! That sucks. Doesn't your friend realize that your brother doesn't exactly get to choose when he comes home so you need to be flexible when he does? Also, do they know you would have more fun with them and are essentially punishing yourself so you can see your brother? That is so unfair of them. Were you very apologetic? Sometimes being too apologetic makes people pounce. Damn them. And sorry about your dad. :(

carrie721

can i hire you to try to explain that to them? i tried, but they didn't get it.

my inclination is always to be overly apologetic, but i restrained myself this time, since i didn't do anything wrong! i had to talk to my friend's mom again last night to tell her i couldn't come out tonight, and she was so cold to me. they live 4 hours away and i don't have a car. it would take major juggling for me to borrow my mother's car, not to mention the fact that i would then "owe" my mother something. they act as if i owe them a visit.

Yeah - I chose apartments that are relatively new and in good shape - but you can't control what other people do in theirs - so sh*t still happens...ugh.

They don't have tags - that's the first thing I checked - and I just now took a chance and threw them in the washer...I can air -dry them if need be - but at least running them in the washer will get rid of the excess water..I mean they were so incredibly soaked - like I said there was an inch or more of standing water in my bathroom this morning....

Right now--jumping up and down and saying many prayers of thanks...we're getting a bonus at work :blob1:

Just when I was totally stressing about how I was going to manage (financially) my trip home for Christmas :blob2:

Now I'm steaming after having to deal with an irate caller...he's pissed off at the way Bush pronounces nuclear....like I have anything to do with that

 Some people are such assholes!

and yeah, i don't know what she was talking about. COPicolla? maybe if you're IN italy. but we're not. everyone says cap. whatever.

what the hell did that caller expect you to say? "sweet, i'll get on the bat-phone and inform the president that joe **** from ass****, colorado doesn't like the way he says nuclear. thanks!"??

 I was just thinking of snarky remarks that would have been fun - but alas we have that whole customer/community service thing we focus on...I already freaked out my boss after the first irate caller I ever got here, I told him about it and he said, "what did you tell him?" I replied, "I just told him to f*ck off!" The look on his face was priceless...

right now: Writing my 6:30pm newscast.

You will watch it with me someday!

You could try eating a book there. Maybe a little Shakespeare? Or a comic book, if you're looking for something light.
