I didn't know you live in Los Angeles. You listen to KUSC too? It's the only classical radio for L.A. & O.C.

I'm listening to Joan Morris sing "Shine On, Harvest Moon" because Bill wanted some turn-of-the-century songs, so I had to rip from this CD.

I will forever have bad memories of: "Gypsy" by Fleetwood Mac...

Nothin' worse than to have a dentist start drilling (Had fillings placed in the right side of my mouth today, next Monday the left side) as this song started and once Stevie reached the chorus the drilling reached its climax - which caused me to blurt out (As I was in "la-la-land" from 'laughing gas') "Man, that is SO wrong"...

So thanks Fleetwood Mac for the refrain of "Maybe once, maybe twice" when it was actually SEVERAL teeth!!! #$%^&*(

a Jessica Simpson song that riffs on "Jack & Diane" -- PRETTY COOL
a solo piano rendition of Fidelio from a score published by C.F. Peters (don't know whether it's Beethoven's own piano reduction or somebody like Holz) -- EXCELLENT

The rain following from the sky...

Just watched 15 minutes of the largest hail stones I have ever seen fall from the sky, some were bigger than golf-balls. I ran outside and pulled my TrailBlazer underneath one of the many trees in my yard to protect it, seems to have worked.

Figures, third time I have mowed my yard this year and all 3 times it has rained later that same day

I highly recommend "Eskimo" by Damien Rice. I may have posted that on here before... but I think it is one of the most incredible songs recorded in the last 10 years.

The original track is 16 minutes long with two hidden songs inside of it, but here's the first portion of it to give you guys a taste before I go home and mediafire the song:

I love Kate Bush! ''The Dreaming'' is also one of my favourites, funny how a lot of fans aren't keen on it though. She does call it her 'she's gone mad album' for a reason though. I guess it's the kind of madness I like. I've been addicted to ''There Goes a Tenner'' lately.

I love the accents she does in it! We get Australian, Irish, cockney - brilliant, brilliant album. I prefer it to "Hounds Of Love", although that is a masterpiece in herself.

I love Kate Bush too. :D

Haha yes, she really does show off her repertoire of accents there! I love the way she sings, 'We got the job suss-ss-ed'. I routinely embarass myself doing impressions of her.

There isn't a KB album I don't like actually, they all her their own unique personality. I think my favourite will always be 'The Red Shoes', if only for 'Moments of Pleasure'.

I used to do the best "Wuthering Heights" impression, I had that chorus nailed! Until my voice dropped like two octaves in one year - I don't know how it did that. :p

So I know how it feels to do Kate Bush impressions to funny looks!

The only one I've never been able to get into is "Aerial". I find it too mellow. However, "Nocturn" is one of my favourite ever songs of hers so it sort of makes up for it.

Bliss indeed. I loooooove that record. I wonder if they'll ever do a follow up? Emmylou is one of my favourite artists, right from Pieces of the Sky until now. I saw her live last year, she was amazing! I got one of my favourites, Leaving Louisiana In The Broad Daylight.

I'd love to see Linda live but of course it's very doubtful since she never tours any more.

I'd love for Linda and Bonnie Raitt to make an album together actually. They've recorded a lot of the same material over the years and Bonnie kicks ass...another great live performer. I have to give her the edge over Linda when it comes to Love Has No Pride, although Linda's version of Louise beats Bonnie's so it's all even! I just think that the different textures of their voices would work together so well.

I know, it's sad about Linda rarely touring but from reading various articles 'the road' is not her favourite place to be. I think I'd rather have new music.

I've always thought about Bonnie and Linda doing some work together, they have sung together a little. Throw Emmylou in there and nothing could ever beat it in my eyes. :D

Oh yeah, I'd love some new stuff from Linda too, or Remasters of some of her classic 70s stuff with full liner notes and extras, like what's been done to Emmylou's earlier albums.

I don't know of many instances of Bonnie and Linda singing together, apart from a couple of poor quality clips on youtube. I think one is of Desperado with the Eagles. What's all out there? I'd love to see something great so anything you know of would be cool!

Without the details yet, I will say there is DNA evidence to

Over in the Stevie board, we got to talking about TISL.
I don't really enjoy the album, but I hadn't listened to it in awhile. I figured I should give it a second (read: 42895th) chance.

Today, I've listened to it three times all the way through (yes, "That Made Me Stronger" included -- it's catchy, okay?!) and... it's growing on me! So now I just need Street Angel to grow on me...

Neneh Cherry/Buffalo Stance

Great song. Heard it blaring while at some airport recently, and I've had in my head ever since- hadn't heard it in years. This song was awesome back in the day- such a breakthrough standout for the genre upon its release, too. Lest we forget that this was an era defined commercially by Milli Vanilli and the relatively talentless SAW puppets (Rick Astley/Kylie Minogue/Bananarama/etc)

I love the video for it, too. I think its one of the last mainstream music videos that was shot on videotape rather than film (not counting any recent "quirky" bands that might have done so to be ironic or snarky)- can anyone think of another example?

LOVE Buffalo Stance, it's absolutely brilliant.

As a big Kylie fan (despite her last album) I have to rise to the bait and defend her! She rose above the medicority of some of her early SAW work (although some fantastic pop songs were done then, Hand On Your Heart and Better The Devil You Know especially) and demonstrated that she had loads of talent later on. She wouldn't still be here otherwise.

As for Rick Astley, you can't deny that he has a great voice, even though it may have beem smothered by SAW production techniques. He really can sing, a great white soul voice. That sai, Never Gonna Give You Up is pop genius!

I love Ryan Adams too, and was was ctually listening to Wonderwall in the car earlier. It was ona compilation I made though because I find the entire Love Is Hell album a bit tough to listen to all the way through. I have to be in a very bleak mood! It's perfect for that though. I tend to just listen toa few tracks from it rather than the whole thing, like Hotel Chelsea Nights.

Gold, Heartbreaker and Easy Tiger though I can listen too all the time.

Dani - I love Natalie Merchant too! Tigerlily is a phenomenal album, Ophelia too. She's got a new record due out next year, at last! We cklearly have very similar tastes...
