Love the track, gorgeous as ever, but sorta makes me wonder about LB mixing the whole album himself. I mean, this is only 2 instruments (guitar and voice) being mixed and...I dunno. Song itself - superb, mix - cautious. Worried about what'll happen when more instruments are thrown in on the other tracks.

Okay, the whole whispery vocals in an echo-y room is enough! Some of the songs he did live, especially Stars, made me really excited for this album, but after hearing the single I feel like its just typical modern day Lindsey Buckingham. Le sigh...

Stunningly beautiful. I actually LOVE the way Lindsey's voice sounds on about 90% of the track. Whatever effect he has on his vocals really magnifies the great aspects of his voice. He has a very beautiful tone when he choses to use it. And the guitars are of course sublime, as is the production. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

Don't worry, the guitar in those pickingsongs is supposed to take over drums, bass, percussion, even backingvocals. On the tracks where he will use them, the guitar will not fill the space this way.... I suppose...

i think this is pretty, but i like his voice better non-sped up.

and although i think it's good idea to start with the free download of a song from the album, i want the real first single - In Our Own Time - as soon as possible.

The guitar work is gorgeous, but his voice...he sounds almost cartoonish. I wish he'd stop singing this way.

That's where bootleg/live recordings work their magic As much as I love Mossier Buckingham, quite a few of his songs I prefer at their most raw, unrefined state.

Default Free download of the song Seeds We Sow

I just saw this on Facebook. You can download the song Seeds We Sow for free. Hope this link works (it worked for me!). I heard him do this at the Saban show, but it sounds like a sound that belongs on Under The Skin. Enjoy:

On that note from SS, at some point, I'm going to edit and upload the LB songs from Saban in lossless and in more listenable quality. Maybe someone needs to prod me to remind me this weekend..

I'm with Silver Springs about much of LB's greatest work being the less over-produced, "tinkered with" phase. Yet, of course, I love everything and all about the flawless masterpiece "Out Of The Cradle" so I'm just a walking paradox.

This song...hmmm...I really LOVE the guitar but his singing this way, as Erin put it, is just not something I instantly fall in love with. I'm going to listen a little more, but honestly I wasn't all that moved by my first listen. I have felt this way about many LB songs that I absolutely love passionately now, so this could just be temporary...or not. Gawd, those freaking live songs tainted my ears or something. They were like perfect. And this wasn't quite up to par.

But still I am ALL OVER this new album. My guy never really disappoints me.

I think the song is livelier than it was in concert, more vibrant and rhythmic, but that voice . . . People said that Stevie sounded like she was on helium (or playing one of the munchkins in the Wizard of Oz) on BN. Looks like Lindsey is trying to return to that. I have no idea what possessed him.

Sublime work, very raw almost UTS. The guitar work is awesome!
