Default New Single Next Week?

Per Nickslive.blogspot.com, the first single from Seeds We Sow will be released next week (presumably In Our Own Time). Anxiously awaiting the new CD and I would prefer to listen to the whole CD at one time. Undoubtedly, I will buy the new single as soon as it is commercially available. I have no will power or the patience to wait for the whole CD.

Default Is anyone else.....

.....a little scared about the prospect of this being another sorta "whispering meadows" cd? All the new songs, in the live videos, are sung in full voice and sound KILLER. But he's cleary self-conscious about using full voice on record recently. And the opposite is true as well; he performs "Shut Us Down", "Not Too Late", etc in full voice live. Is anyone else scared that these new songs, which are great in the energetic, shouting versions we've heard of them, will be totally sucked dry in the studio versions?

He better not use that whisper croak. I try to convert people and they hear that voice and run like lightning.

I was ok with his GOS vocals though. UTS was the problem.

I'm really worried. Really really worried. The live versions are SPECTACULAR and I hope that the album cuts are as close to that as possible.

Illumination better be as close as possible It's my favorite so far!

I don't really mind the whisper voice, maybe on one of two songs is fine, but no more!

No, I'm not worried. I did like that treatment on UTS because it was part of the artistic theme. The whispery vocals and stripped down instrumentation was intended to make the cd intimate and personal with him singing and playing to someone personally. Listening to UTS is like having Lindsey in your living room playing and singing to you and you alone. I don't see that being the intent of his new cd.

Where does one buy this CD? Amazon or in a store ???
We never know how to do it...my friends bought me UTS and
GOS from the computer to make me happy! How can we read Lindsey's revamped site? Thanks for any help! Cammie

I totally had no issue with it on UTS, I thought it was great, and actually, I don't much care for the live versions of many of those tracks, because he does them in full voice live. "Shut Us Down" for example just sounds wrong to me in full voice. I'm more thinking about GOS, tracks like "Did You Miss Me", and "Love Runs Deeper". Big uptempo rock tracks with the whispery verse. To my ears, the verses of "Did You Miss Me" are ATROCIOUS.

I really hope I can find this CD in a store. I don't mind buying online but it's just not as fun. I was so happy the day after IYD came out when I went to Best Buy and got it. I wanna do the same for Lindsey

Really looking forward to this album. I'm interested in hearing the new songs in studio form.

Me too, I want an actual physical CD with booklet of pics and words and something I can actually hold!

Lightbulb Ok, please educate me....

When people say a new single will be out, what does this mean exactly? Does that mean that radio will receive it and (probably won't) play it? Does it mean it will go to stores to add to their playlists? Will it go on sale via iTunes?

It's just difficult these days being a Lindsey fan (or any artist not in the Top 40) since radio is so homogenized and doesn't want to play anything new by older bands and band members.

Perhaps some requesting is in order to our local stations that MAY play the single.

I would guess it will be available on iTunes or perhaps as a download from his website. It might go to radio, depending. Since Lindsey is releasing this himself, he might not bother with the radio route, since it's a time consuming and frustrating, and may just opt to have the single out for purchase and possibly review/write-up by music magazines and websites.

I'm confused as to why people don't think there will be an actual physical album available? It may not be widely distributed for purchases but I would be really surprised if there won't be a hard copy available for order from Amazon or his website at the very least. Releasing an album free of a label usually means that there are more options for the release (ie. packages that include more than just a CD). You may not be able to run to a store to pick it up the day its released but I really think there will be something to hold.

I hope you're right. I didn't speak up when I heard that there was not going to be a physical copy of Billy Burnette's new album . . . but then they came for me!
