I'm really liking the snippet of "Secret Love"
![]() It does sound a little A/C but I like the production - very modern.

Me too
. This song does not stand out to my ears. |

The demo has a very child-like, simple quality to it, IMHO, and if she tried to sing it that way now it would be ridiculous. Making it more "poppy" works for me.

And I'll go so far as to say if this song garners attention, I'll eat my firstborn... who happens to be a dog.

My thoughts. Word for word. For one of her AC tracks, though, this isn't bad. When she goes in that vein, I'm never going to be thrilled, but I don't hate it. I'm more excited for the album now than I was, and I'll definitely pre-order to get the full track.

Her voice sounds good, really good.
I save my comment on the song untill I've heard the whole version.

The photos are gorgeous... is that thumbnail the album cover?
The single is exactly what I expected... which is not really a good thing. Safe, predictable, MOR, etc. What is up with that embarassing "ooh-wee"? Regardless, her voice sounds wonderful and you certainly couldn't judge Trouble In Shangri-La by "Every Day". I WANT MORE! |

That was going to be my next question. The full-frontal image of her is one thing and the photo of her profile is another (one is the album cover and one is the single cover), but which is which i wonder?

When was "Secret Love" demoed? I've never heard it before.

I'd say the thumbnail is an album / single cover, I'm less convinced about the big photo, I'd say that's a promo pic.

![]() And thanks for the reminder we can't judge the album by the single. Stevie's singles have all completely STANK since '94. Not so with her album tracks, though. ![]()

The ONLY thing I have beef with is that I wish Stevie would take a genre of music and go with it. I don't want this half country, half rock, half AC album. I know she's been doing that for years, but for me, I want an all rock album....or an all country album...etc.....take a vein and go with it.
Singles are suppose to give an average person a taste of what the album is suppose to sound like. Her singles never give good representation, IMO, because they are always so safe. If you are not a rabid fan, you would never know that she has gems hidden on albums.
