Sorry if I came across rude by saying The U.S isnt everything but the jist I felt was in the direction of who is she? She isn't big here in the U.S and depreciate her on that and for covering "The Chain"..
I just love Florence + The Machine especially with the fact she appreciates and is inspired by Stevie and The Mac

http://nickslive.blogspot.com/search...0The%20Machine

Thought it was about time she covered a Mac or Stevie song.. And on this note.. Fleetwood Mac at Glastonbury? Must've been close to actually happening if one of the headlining artists was under the assumption FM was gonna be there.. Then again she could've been grossly misinformed

In this blog article it mentions this...

The British band's debut album "Lungs" on Universal Republic has been a huge breakout, spurring buzz in both the UK and the US. They've recently embarked on their first US tour, starting in New York with two sold out shows at Le Poisson Rouge and Terminal 5. And playing across the country with a stop at Coachella Music & Arts Festival.

I'm from Australia. I never hear about her unless I'm listening to triple j radio. And as I said, I spend a lot of time on entertainment websites/blogs etc

Her album Lungs has been on Aria Top 50 albums for 30 weeks now.. She's all over Austar.. A particular show I can't think of on 7 used it for an ad for a couple of months.. Is a headliner at Splendor.. Has a tour coming up in August (I'm going at Festival hall CANNOT WAIT!).. You Got The Love ringing any bells?? Cos its all over Nova and the likes.. Tuning in at the wrong time maybe?

If you scroll through the thread in the Rumours forum titled MacNuggetts, somewhere in there you will see a post or two where Fleetwood Mac was listed as possible performers at the Glastonbury Festival. It was advertised as such. Perhaps that is where Florence got the impression they would be there.

After thinkin about it for a bit, I vaguely remember reading this but for some reason I feel like it was around the time Unleashed was finishing up the American leg and everyone from Europe and the Pacific were desperately trying to find any evidence of them continuing it on to Europe and Oz.. BUT thats would've been for Glastonbury 09'
How unreal it'd be for them to perform Glastonbury

unbelievable!!!!

Totally awesome guys! i am at work, and at the moment can't read through the pages, HOWEVER, HAD to log in to contribute!

I had NO idea Florence liked FMAC.. till now! So impressed, well the love is there now!

Guess who is listening to Florence right now (live Glastonbury).... and who had her on the in the car... and who saw her live when she came to australia in Feb? The range, the absolute effortless range, dynamic.

I would have to say, she is the best rounded singer I know of. Now hush down, i'm not saying she is my favourite - for Stevie is.

To me, the test of a singer is how they can sing live, and oh me oh my, Florence Welsh can SING!

Very impressive, so please those of you who haven't heard this woman (band), give it a shot, perhaps youtube and hear it, then give it another go. I love the entire album, and my fellow stevie ledgies - it will sink its teeth into you.

An absolute listening pleasure

p.s - a line in one of her songs i like "and i never wanted anything from you, except all that you have and whats left after that too". Its not said in a nasty way, slipped and sung into the song so sweetly.. rather amusing actually.

ENJOY LEDGIES! ENJOY!

I don't get why people can't see that she was saying it was something totally special for Glastonbury. And that's why she wouldn't be playing it again. That's how I understood it anyway.

I'll admit I'm a casual fan of Florence. And to all the people calling her a Stevie wannabe,, that thought has never crossed my mind. As someone not knowing much about her or her band I didn't even know she was a fan of Fleetwood Mac

The rumour was all over the internet. I'm sure she picked up on that

i have heard it, but there is just something about her voice that is so.... pitchy? common? Uninteresting? I do like her one song that is semi-well known, but other than that I can not seem to get into anything else she does. I really do like how faithful her version of the Chain is to the Rumours album version. I do not think even Fleetwood Mac has ever come this close to replicating the studio version live in concert. So kudos to her on that!
