Well, Liindsey did say that whenever they put the BN CD out (which is never going to happen) that they would have to do something to promote it and he teased with the possibility of a BN tour. So . . . it may never happen, but it has been considered.

This is a picture of what I meant when I compared Stevie to the "hear no evil" monkey. Of course, it looks like she was clutching at her head in a burst of emotion, but she was really checking her sound.

Lindsey and his false promises...well, actually, I take that back because he's been pretty effing to-his-word as of late...but sometimes I think he's a bit of a dreamer.

OT: I'm listening to Stand Back right now...I like this song. I also love the SN drama...who is this song about anyway? Or is it just one of those made-up type songs?

The time in her life when she was marrying Kim Anderson. I remember her saying that it was like, "Everyone wants, or needs something... Like a wel-fare deal. Stand in a line for what you want." On some level, I think it is an extension of Sisters of the Moon, again that is only MY opinion. She said that she and Kim were listening to Little Red Corvet and fell in love with it. She and Kim were having this HUGE fight while on their honeymoon and she wrote this song using Little Red Corvet as a skeleton for the work. Prince plays on it, isn't that awesome?

Overall it was just a lazy performance and she had zero enthusiasm for what she was doing. Alicelover, I have seen this woman perform for over 25 years and I have seen well over 50 shows. Trust me when I say "she ain't got it no more". Yes, she is 60 and perhaps her age is taking it's toll on her. But after what I saw tonight, I can honestly say she no longer has any business being on a rock and roll stage.
I just saw that Red River performance with Chris Issac~ When was that filmed cause she had great energy and spark singing with him?... I just saw her in 07 and thought she was great and almost cried when she did her Stand back kick... I think when she gets with Lindsey she reverts back to her shadows and tries to let him shine.. I think she was nervous for the fact it WAS opening night and the fact that she's with Lindsey.. she tries to stand back a little to let him take the glory.. I don't think maybe she wants to compete with him anymore..I truly believe this.. she is always more expressive, adventurous and happier seeming for solo tours and performances...she can do whatever she wants when its not Mac...And I think Lindsey is better in Mac than solo...they bring out his best...

How old are you? I have seen FM/Stevie 20 times, and next week being
21 times. I have not insulted you. Why do you do the same.
I think Lindsey is a guitar hero....I was just sticking up for Stevie.
Do you get turned on, calling being names????
No class.

I am no troll honey........

I totally agree with you Belladonna. They bring out the best in each other.
But lately Stevie seems more happier solo and I think the both of them
are doing this for Mick. Mick needing money.
Let them go solo. I believe this will be their last tour together.

She can damn well talk whenever she wants to!!!! And, just because she was at the side of the stage doesn't mean that Stevie had time to talk to her either before or at the end of the show, Ash didn't get to talk to her this summer when she saw Stevie perform.
There are many new Ledgies here - to assume that most people here must know Ashley is pretty presumptuous. She's a fan, she's not a member of the band or anything. Some people here know DavidMN too, but that doesn't mean everyone does, or that they should. We knew eachother before meeting because we had conversed on Mick's board several times. Ashley doesn't come here much at all.

It seemed you were berating the person who said it was unprofessional for Stevie to be talking while her bandmates were playing - telling them to "get their facts straight?" You also implied that it was OK thatStevie did this, because she was talking to a fan & not a sound guy or something. Still not OK in my book. Sure, she can talk to who she wants when she wants, but the fans have every right to say that this appears unprofessional & seems that Stevie's not paying attention.

Another thing I notice is that those who deplore the negative opinions from other ledgies so often voice negative opinions about those ledgies in the process.

Isn't it better to harshly criticize Fleetwood Mac rather than ledgies?

Not to everybody. You might believe so, but others don't "need to understand" any such thing if that's not how they see Stevie.
People are getting really defensive. But I haven't really seen anyone with a "negative" opinion of recent performances get nasty with people who are defending the band in this thread. They're not saying "Stevie sucks ass, but Lindsey is a rock God & he's obviously carrying the whole band & without him & his talent they wouldn't be touring at all." The other way around, however... It's interesting to me.

Jesus, people, it's just a difference of opinion. Who cares if someone disagrees with you? It's fun to debate. It ceases being fun when the only defense is "you don't know wtf you're talking about" or "oh yeah, well Lindsey sucks & Stevie's a God." Ridiculous.

I didn't think any of Stevie's shows sold out recently. I could be wrong. I mean, they're not empty or anything, but definitely NOT sell outs.

I mean, I think the Buckingham-Nicks album is a beautiful and they really could have brought some of those tunes out and possibly pumped up a lot of die-hards as well as introduced something pretty much unexpected to casual or newer fans.

But whatever...it seems they kind of stick to a predictable formula. I'm not complaining, though. Truthfully, I adore Fleetwood Mac. I think they're an incredible band and always will. I love all the members collectively and individually. But Lindsey has my heart and I am a devoted Lindsey fan all the way (duh). So seeing them live, for me, is about 70% for Lindsey and 30% for the band. But I'm excited anyway to see FM together at this point.
ITA. A BN tune would be great. But like you, I didn't expect it, so I'm not upset.

What does SOTM have to do with Stand Back? I'd like to read your interpretation of how they are connected. She has said that wrote SB about how she invited people to come to her wedding & many didn't. LB was obviously the one that bugged her most (one man, did not call...), but now that I think about it - did any Mac members show? I'm thinking no, but I honeslty don't remember. Mick maybe?

I saw Red River last night & was blown away. The harmonies were amazing. THAT'S the Stevie I want to see. What a breath of fresh air! She's obviously STILL got it - some of the time. Not sure when it was filmed, but I would think within the past year.

I think she definitely hing back a bit on the SYW tour, but maybe that's part of why "it was not a happy tour."

Good for you. This isn't a contest. People who have seen Stevie/Mac more than others are not more important, nor should their opinions be the only ones that count here. You are being accused of trolling because you popped up out of nowhere & instead of posting intelligent thoughts & opinions, you hurled insults about Lindsey.

I was thinking the same thing when I watched her performance with CI. She"s almost like a completely different person than her performances with FM. I think in some ways, having Stevie around actually increases Lindsey"s confidence level. After all, he did invite her to his solo Soundstage show.

Maybe she "stands back" b/c she's afraid he'll kick the **** out of her on stage again and there ain't no Christine to slap his sorry ass down on this tour.

I saw them 3 times on the Say You Will tour. I've seen Stevie twice since then. Girlfriend is just losing her voice and stamina, there's just no getting around it. She looks fantastic, there's no denying that either. I'll give her props for that for sure! But her voice is just so lacking. Y'all can't tell me you don't cringe when you listen to the line in Storms where she sings:
"did I ever really care that much"

It's just terrible... nails on chalkboard. She's so off pitch it's not funny. Much of the rest of the song is great, but the notes she hits inadvertently hits these days... ouch. Same with the posted version of Stand Back... blech. Trust me y'all... I do love the Mac and Stevie, I really, really do. But I also know when I can call them on their fumbles. People call me on my fumbles at work... so I should be able to call the Mac on their fumbles at work. Performing is just as much their job as working in a bank is mine. Essentially we're all their employers, since we pay for their G4 rental. So we CAN constructively criticize them!
and this is supposed impress who???? Btw- 1st time I saw them was 1979-sit down and shut up. lol

Seems to me that he was simply stating that he formed his opinion based on the fact that he's seen them live several times recently, and that he's not talking out his ass. Don't think he was trying to impress anyone - who are you trying to impress with your announcement that you saw them in '79?
