you could ...

-turn off sigs in your userCP
-put me on ignore
-block images from my photobucket URL, if you're using firefox.

and really, calling trisha "obscure" is the best you've got?

i've been around here for 3+ years. go dig up my old posts and see what a ridiculous fan i was.

that would just be silly.

Nope the best i have got would probably get me banned for life from this forum.

Stevie sells out her venues because she has become an OLDIES act. Her fans know she is gunna play the same crap every time and charge ridiculous prices for tickets. Are you totally fine with paying hundreds of dollars to see her play the same set year after year? I got fed up with it. Team Buckingham. Two incredible solo albums in two years. Ill take that.[/QUOTE]

ROTFL.. You're asking "ME" if I'm fine with paying hundreds of dollars to see her play the same setlist??? Do you know "WHO" your asking here ?? ROTFLMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... Do you know, that I've been a devoted fan of her's since I heard her back in 1976 when I was in high school, and darlin' I would pay to see her hop on stage and sing the phone book- wearing nothing more than a burlap bag and house shoes- AND, I'd pay thousands even to go see her in a retirement home doing the same!!! LMAO.. You don't know what you let yourself in for here.. LOLOLOL.. I'm gonna go light on you... and say- because of my love and adoration for Stevie Nicks, yes! I've paid thousands of dollars for a LOT of her stuff, along with seeing her perform for many, many years.... as I've been on this earth for 51 wonderful, happy years now.. I'm not in my 20's nor am I a "newbie" to Stevie, the boards, the net or anything else... Matter of fact, I've been on other boards with YOU!! LOL- I'm in no way cutting anyone down for feeling otherwise, as I've stated before... as everyone is entitled to their own feelings and opinions.. and honey.. everyone is letting them out! Im great with that! Do any of us have to agree on everything?? NO! Matter of fact, I enjoy reading everyone's thoughts and feelings! Makes it interesting for all of us! I'm not a Linds fan.. Never have been, and never will be! My boyfriend adores him! As I said.. to each his own! I adore FM, as a whole, and I appreciate the old FM as well.. Peter Green, Bob Welch, Mick, John and all of them! In fact, it's the adoration of the "entire band" as a whole- along with Stevie- that got me involved in the Fm/ Stevie community! And I can't be happier! I have to say also, that because of that, it's brought me a LOT of wonderful people in to my life, as well as music!! So, the answer to your question buddy- is absolutey- Yes, without a doubt! I understand where you are coming from, and can empathize with those of you that feel that way! On that, I see where our feelings differ.. and you know what? There's not a thing wrong with that!

Hugs,

Arlene

Thats totally fine. I respect your opinion. While I am only 19 I have seen Fleetwood Mac 6 times (not counting the 2 im going to on this tour), Stevie 6 times, and Lindsey 7 times. In the beginning, I was soley a Stevie fan, but when 2005 came around she just started to drift. It severely aggravates me that she won't put out any new music and she won't even do old songs from her catalouge on stage anymore. Its just the same old stuff. I just have found a love for Lindsey in the fact that he still loves to make music, new music and his creativity is in its top form. I love Stevie and I will always go out of my way to see her, she just has lost my interest. A red dress and a new shawl a year doesn't cut anymore for me.

This is how I feel. I love the woman, but her stuff on tour is the same ol', same ol'. This is one of the reasons why I'd rather choose to see FM over solo Stevie (despite her being my 'favourite' member) anyday. What I loved about Lindsey's stuff on Say You Will was that it sounded new and enthusiastic and contemporary. Come was such a rockin' tune that Lindsey left me in awe - I never knew he could rock out like that! Stevie used songs written as far back as the late '70's and those that weren't, sounded dated. Don't get me wrong, I love her stuff, but she seems to have lost that spark that made her music pull me in like a moth to a flame.

Truth be told, Stevie's holding herself back because, I think, she feels it wouldn't be true to her persona if she were to get with the times. She's so adverse to modern technology, I reckon she wouldn't do well in today's environment. Music thrives now on downloading and the internet and mobile technology - she's be friggin' lost with it. And I think she's afraid that all that mystery and enigma she's spent years building would soon fly away with one of Rhiannon's birds. As much as it pains me to say, Lindsey's way ahead of her in the music stakes, and if anyone is to labelled a 'lounge act', it would most likely be Stevie. Performing at Las Vegas just screams 'lounge' and 'impending retirement'. When will Stevie's non-US fans ever see her perform? I'm not trying to create an argument here, but it really bothers me that some people think the sun shines out of Stevie's arse and don't consider that she's done no new material in nearly a decade, yet they think it's fine to diss Lindsey - whose latest album isn't even a year old (fair enough, it's got 'old' material on it). It's not fine, either way. But if you are gonna diss, try and not be so hypocritical.

To me, Stevie didn't sound 'off' or 'awful' or 'bored', she simply sounded disengaged. People will say, 'Age has nothing to do with it', but I think it does. I remember she said about the SYW that she was 'too old' to put up with Lindsey's crapola, so five years on do you think she's not any older? Are any of them any more tolerant? They may have made their peace, but Stevie could be forgiven if she's slightly tentative about touring again. She creates the drama, yet doesn't want it to reverberate back to her. It seems to me, especially in the first few dates, maybe Stevie's actively trying to not be so engaged with the band. There's no common bond yet with new material, so hitting the road after 6 years may feel a bit like a school reuinion. If she hasn't seen them for a good while, she may not feel as excited, or as close, as they feel with each other.

This is purely my speculation, so don't read too much into it.

Hey Jimmy..

Completely understand that.. and nothing wrong with feeling that way! I guess a lot of mine comes from my "musical background" and appreciation for the artist! I could care less what someone "wears" or what someone sings! In what order.. (to explain myself better).. Does it bother me that she doesn't come out with anything new? Sure, I'd love to see her do some new songs, and come out with a new cd... but... I'm not really concerned, as I'm happy to still see her touring at her age! I'm not sure I could do that.. as I've worked my entire life since I have been 13 years old! LOLOL To me, I appreciate the artist for who they are.. for the great music they produce, and continue to produce, and just for plain out getting us through hard times with their music.. I do feel you Jimmy.. and I feel others, but let's remember the "GOOD" things Stevie did, and the wonderful music she gave us, you know? Remember the "positives" .. I know you and I both, wouldn't have met as many wonderful people not only here, but on other boards and groups that we've been on, if it weren't for her!!!! If you don't want to go see her, then cool! I completely understand, you know?? I also think it's pretty cool that at 19 years of age, you've already seen Stevie 6 times, as I sure couldn't have said that!! That's AWESOME!!!

Hugs,

Arlene

Think what you want, I really don't care. This is my personal opinion based on my experiences in the past and based on what I experienced last Sunday. I think having been a fan for over a quarter century, seeing over 50 shows, buying every CD, and attending every tour since the 80s is enough to "prove" myself as a fan. But I suppose being a "true fan" means that you have to adore every little thing one of your favorite artists does, no matter how unprofessional it is or how much you disagree with it. I guess I'm just not a true fan then.

Would it have killed her to bring one or two of the hundreds of demos she has in the vaults and feature them on Crystal Visions? If she simply has nothing to write about anymore (and I have little doubt that she does), then why not grab a producer that she's comfortable with, one that she's worked with before (say, oh John Shanks), get into the studio and lay down some vocals. Would it have been just too much work for the mad songwriter? It would have made the package that much nicer for the fans and would have kept her relevant and fresh. She could have brought those two songs on tour with her and still do all the songs that are within her comfort zone. It would have been a new artistic expression, it would have differentiated the tour from the GD tour, and would have been a reason to actually hit the road in the first place. But no, she couldn't even do that. Whatever happened to the song she wrote about Hurricane Katrina? It took her one year to write and record "Illume (9/11)", so why after 4 years, can she not put her thoughts regarding Katrina into a new track? It's not as if "Illume" was some kind of masterpiece or anything that took her years of tweaking to get just right. In 2002, she was able to put together 10 tracks for SYW, but yet has not been able to put out a single track for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, or 2009. There's no excuse for that, in my opinion. It's fine if she doesn't want to record anymore, but then she shouldn't tour either. But if she really wants to tour without promoting new material, then at least mix it up, play some rare stuff, change the arrangement a bit, do something different. Four live covers in 5 years is just not going to cut it.

I really believe this Unleashed Tour is Fleetwood Mac's version of Stevie's Crystal Visions Tour. It has that same "been there, done that" feel to it. I'm sure it was her idea, just as I'm sure Lindsey would have much preferred to tour off a new album. But he probably felt that his hands were tied and I think he probably really does believe that this tour can hopefully lead to them making a new studio album together. I have little doubt that she is the one who is holding the band back from putting out new material, since it is clear that Lindsey can pump out the new stuff as quickly as he wants to as long as he has a forum to do so.

I think there is a pesky fly buzzing around my head again!!

I am sure this whole tour was Stevie's idea. She is such a lazy ass.

If you ask me, she knows this will make them money and she knows that the guys in this band make lots of it when they tour together. She knows they have families and that this will be of major benefit to them and wants to do whatever she needs to do because she cares about them as friends.

I also think that when she puts out new material, it will be of quality and marketable. She learned A LOT from Say You Will.

This is not a complaint or anything, just a thought...it would have been pretty cool if, maybe, Lindsey and Stevie had decided to do some songs from their time before the band, since I have read recent quotes from Stevie referring to that time and how much this tour reminds her of Lindsey and her at that point in their lives. I mean, I think the Buckingham-Nicks album is a beautiful and they really could have brought some of those tunes out and possibly pumped up a lot of die-hards as well as introduced something pretty much unexpected to casual or newer fans.

But whatever...it seems they kind of stick to a predictable formula. I'm not complaining, though. Truthfully, I adore Fleetwood Mac. I think they're an incredible band and always will. I love all the members collectively and individually. But Lindsey has my heart and I am a devoted Lindsey fan all the way (duh). So seeing them live, for me, is about 70% for Lindsey and 30% for the band. But I'm excited anyway to see FM together at this point.

Let's change the topic people and listen to Lindsey once again
play I'm so afraid for howmany times too many...Ha!
He is a lounge act now too.
Okay, can you get up and play that song in front of thousands? How about for 30 years? Lindsey actually puts out new music, it doesn't matter how big of a crowd he can attract.

That's a really nice thing to say about someone who you're supposed to be a fan of.
