I’ve heard a story about Christine being homophobic as well, but in all fairness, I’ve always tried to give the benefit of the doubt that people change, and just because Christine may have made one comment about homosexuality doesn’t mean she felt that way her entire life. I know Stevie has spoken favorably of Night of 1000 Stevies, and given interviews to Out magazine. It always surprises me when anyone famous speaks negatively of gay people, considering how many gay people must be in their lives or inner circles.

In fact, my impression is, of all the members of the Rumours gang, Lindsey and Mick were probably the most comfortable with gay people. Just a feeling, I just suspect they’re more comfortable with the idea. There have always been rumors about Stevie being gay or bi, based on her closeness to females, so I can see her possibly being defensive about that, whereas I don’t think Lindsey or Mick would care if someone thought they were gay.
