She's a delicate flower with a hole in her nose. Not a good combination. Poor thing probably has had the same headcold since 1988.

I also love listening to Dave Grohol. He's so down to earth.

AND -- I LOVE that Letterman LOVES Stevie!
I actually think she sounds better with a cold. It adds another depth.

After watching last night, it became more clear that Stevie would serve herself better if she did more rockers to sell herself & her music. The "Secret Love's" & "Everyday's" need to stay in the background. And while she's at it, she may want to consider getting a younger & tighter rock band. I loved when Waddy came back for TISL after being gone for 15 years, but I'm beginning to think Stevie should consider getting a new band & band director if & when she decides to record & tour solo again.

I was thinking the same thing regarding the band. Waddy is great and there is no denying that....but she def needs to freshen things up a bit. The rest of her band is good also....just at this point I think too familiar to her, and they dont seem to be pushing her buttons so to speak. GDW was amazing at Hammerstein as was SDMHA and hell even Landslide felt refreshed! Hats off to Stevie! Even with the remnants of the bug thats bugging her....she nailed it! Imaine what that band could do with Fall From Grace....Rhiannon....EO17.....No Spoken Word and many others!

I was there for the rehearsal, and Stevie came out and did not look that great. They did the song once, and then we all clapped and they were chit chatting. Stevie then came up to the microphone and said "I have almost no voice, and I am two seconds away from the flu". Then the stage manager was like: "what can we do?"

Stevie Stevie asked them to adjust the earpiece she had. She then started begging to wear her sunglasses. "I have really good sunglasses!" She said she needed to see the screen since it was a new song. I guess they decided she shouldn't wear them. They did the song again, Stevie said she needed to rest, and then they dissapeared.

The actual performance was 100 times better than the rehearsal! I think she must have just psyched herself up for the five minute song. She rocked!!! I was so proud of her!

Thanks Diamondsnake, I was interested to read that. She certainly rose to the occasion come curtain time.

Interesting behind the scenes tidbits! Thanks for that.

Now rest up, Stevie!

I really like this song. The music is has a great driving beat. Wonderful segment with Dave Grohl. I can't wait to see this documentary. Stevie looked and sounded great.

This is a quote from Christine about Stevie, from 1976:

Quote:
Onstage she's the goddess of whatever, but offstage she's very often like a little old lady with a cold or a sore throat. Yet she's amazing..she can feel like **** before she goes onstage but then she goes out there and pulls out the stops.

When I first watched it, I thought maybe she forgot the lines when she left out a verse, but I'm assuming they rehearsed it that way to shorten the song for the show?

YCFT is obviously the song that is being promoted for the LP. I am trying to figure out how this factors into FM releasing new material in the near future. In the past, Stevie would maybe have a song on a soundtrack just prior to a new LP, but it wasn't the lead track. I really like YCFT, but hope it does not detract from the new FM and vice versa. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect any of the releases to skyrocket to the top of the music charts. However, that would be very cool.

I agree on the refreshing but the band to me is alittle hard on the ears.

My link only links to CBS list of shows, but from there it is easy to find Stevie's appearance on Letterman .
