I guess he didn't have very consistent relationships in his life because it sounds like it took weeks for anyone to notice they hadn't heard from him in a while. The last time anyone heard from him was the end of March. God that part creeps me out.
And I feel so wretched for my grandparents. They've done a lot to clean themselves up since then--my Grandma has been sober over 20 years--but they were absent alcoholic parents. And as much as I'll try to tell my grandmother that it wasn't her fault, I know she'll feel guilty about this for the rest of her life (and honestly, she won't be totally wrong). He was an incredibly smart, charismatic, beautiful kid and he just sort of threw his life away--he never held a job, my parents have been supporting him for years. And it's just so horrible that it had to end like this. Everyone always hoped he would somehow turn it around.

I'm sorry for your loss. I can relate to certain situations you talk about and understand how hard it must be for you. If you ever feel like talking to a dumb child or just venting, I'm only a PM away *hugs*
