Let the record reflect that "Maybe Love," "Paper Doll," "Peacekeeper" and "Landslide (remixes)" all charted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles within the past 20 years. Granted, none were huge hits, but at least they were considered "Hot" for a fleeting moment or two.

I also agree that it's silly to believe that Mama is hittin' the circuit to fund her album. She's probably going about it the normal way- she signed to a label (whatever that label may be) and the label cut her an advance plus recording fees (which she would have to pay back from the proceeds). And on the off-chance that she didn't get an advance, she has plenty of money; she doesn't have to work a single day again in her life if she wanted. My suspicion is that she is doing a handful of dates for a number of reasons. For one thing, she wants to keep up her chops. Secondly, she has an army of people on payroll, and these people (who probably get paid gigs sporadically) are probably looking to make some bank- musicians, wardrobe assistants, managers, stylists, etc. And who knows what else these shows may portend (in terms of filmed footage, etc.). After not doing anything solo for a couple of years, she stands a good chance of losing her people, so she needs to get out there with her ribbons and bows and start reconnecting.
