Chinese is my favorite! Followed by Mexican.

I only allow myself Chinese though, maybe once a month. I always eat too much!:D

I don't of course!;)

I went to a party last night, where they had food out all night. I'm such a weak pig, when it's there in front of me, and I'm drinking. I weighed 2 lbs more this morning, than yesterday morning. FML.

Today is "Pay the Piper, Bitch" day. Spinach salad, period.

When there is a running buffet of food to graze on it's too easy to overeat!

Still, your spinach salad is really nice - I've still got it written down in my recipe book!

A salad always tastes really refreshing when one has overeaten the day before!!!!!!!

Last night I had homemade Pea & Ham Soup with thick slices of crusty bread to dunk in.

I've some left over for tonight - tastes even better when warmed up the following day! (We should have a "licking lips" smilie on here!!!!!!!).

Baked chicken (legs n thighs) coated with Progresso Italian bread crumbs, rice pilaf and steamed garlic infused zucchini. If you put the garlic in the steaming water it flavors the zucchini...yums. And before serving, hit the zucchini with a pinch of flake salt and pepper.

Went out for dinner yesterday and had -

Scallops on a bed of warm salad & bacon (the scallops were cooked to just the right consistency - succulent and tender).

Pan fried Sea Bass on a bed of crushed potatoes and spinach, with a prawn and lobster sauce.

Cheeseboard which included local Lancashire cheeses as well as Blue Stilton and Blacksticks Blue.

It was scrumptious - I am still full up this morning!!!

Thanks, of course I'm only going to my home away from home, Nashvegas! Even if I get my next planned trip there to happen(Christmas Day-New Years Eve), I wasn't able to topple my record number of weeks per year there(7 separate vacations there, in 2010). This will only be my 5th time there this year. I just had too much work this year, to be able to get away(two days off, just doesn't cut it for me....if I can't have at least 4-5 days there, it's just not enough).

I agree with the portions! THAT'S the problem, it's hard to make just one serving of meatloaf, or chili, or gumbo, or beef stew. Actually, I have managed to make a tiny meatloaf before, where there were just about two good pieces. Damn that makes me hungry, just thinking about it drownding in a sea of ketchup!!!!

I'm so jealous of this. I will go to Nashville within the next copuple of years! I'll have to have a proper chat with you before I do though. As you know, it will likely be my next destination when I make another trip to the US.

As for food... I had garlic prawns with flaked chili and rice. Delicious!

Thanks. Nashville is just the most fun place I've ever been. I mean, I love live music, so that's a huge reason why. Down on Lower Broadway and 2nd Ave, in about a 6 block area, there are probably 40 clubs that have bands playing, WITH NO COVER CHARGE!

And the people there are so friendly. I've been going for 20 years now, and I've made friendships there, that will last a lifetime. Many of the locals THINK I live there, because they see me so often! People there always say, "why don't you just get it over with, and move here?" It's on my agenda, in a couple of years.....

I sauteed a fish fillet with some chorizo(yes, very strange combination, I'm trying to clean out my freezer), with eggplant Parmesan, and a spinach salad.

Please do. I'm financially tied to my current life, for 2 more years. Long story short, I'll have my house and rental properties all paid off in 2 years, so I'll be ~financially independent~ then. If I don't want to work any more, I won't have to. I've worked SO hard at making this early retirement possible, that I refuse to come off of my game plan. Plus, 2 years will fly by....:)

Wow - quite a plan! Go for it. What's happening with me is that I finished the phD last last year and was completely broke and so just needed some full time work after years of part time work to start paying the bills and looki9ng for lectureships.. I got a School Administrators job that I'm really enjoying but have given myself two years there. Year 1 (which is almost finished - eek!) was to just enjoy having money and relax for a while while trying to get some stuff published and year 2... the job hunt is ON! Highly likel;y I'll be moving internationally since academia in the UK is worse than anywhere else. The US is a very strong possibility. If I haven't found anything in 18 months time I'm just moving - so I don't get stuck in the job I'm doing now since it's not what I trained and spent years working for.

Ok.. I've rambled on a little more than is normal for the "dinner" thread!

So what would you most like to do? Not school administration? What was your PhD in?

Hey, this IS the Ledge. Threadjackers unite!!!:blob2:

Okay, on topic, my date got postponed late last night, so in a depressed frenzy, I made a batch of tuna salad, and ate almost all of it. I've been craving tuna salad lately... and I'm not the biggest celery eater in the world, but I added half a stalk of minced celery to it, and the crunch was phenomenal!

Ughhh... celery is evil. :distress: !!

My phD is in Film Studies, focusing on older models of classic Hollywood stardom and how these have become outmoded in light of contemporary fame culture (celebrity etc). Older film theory and stardom classifications no longer work.. why not? There's a bit of sociology in there too. 74500 words and tt's high culture stuff... chapter include case studies of Nicole Kidman, Britney Spears, Meryl Streep, the Beckhams, Bette Davis... haha. So I'm looking for academic lecturing positions at any university anywehere. It will be in some kind of cultural studies, film studies, media and communications dept. I made it as versatlie as possible. I cn also always just teach classic film studies though - wehatever is on offer really. :sorry: rambled again.

I'm off for a free dinner later, courtesy of winning the pub quiz last week and the team getting some vouchers! I may have steak. :D

We are so much alike. You know, I always HATED celery, but I love hot wings. So it is true, that after a few beers, you will eat almost anything:eek:, so I finally started eating celery. I NEVER eat just a stalk of it, though....or how in school, they'd always have stalks of it filled with peanut butter....BLECK!!! So I'll eat it with hot wings, and put it in a stew, but that's pretty much it....so there IS a correlation between getting sh*tfaced, and trying new foods!

Film studies sounds like fun! Come to IU and get a job!

I'm planning on a spinach salad, eggplant parmesan(yes, I know I eat that every day, it takes me a while to go through a big eggplant-and I don't like wasting food), and what tuna salad is left from last night. I trying to get rid of anything that will go bad, since I leave for Nashvegas in the morning.

I'm so excited....I've lined up a couple new restaurants to try, that were featured on Diner's, Drive-ins, and Dives....I'm half packed, and stocked up for hotel liquor! Working a sold out show tonight, then hit the road in the morning. I've been there 100 times, yet I'm literally GIDDY today, with excitement!

It really is. My second favorite FN show is Restaurant Impossible.
But I always track down DDD's locations, along with a site called Urbanspoon.

It's amazing how sometimes they're not as good as Guy makes them seem. There's a Jamaican restaurant in Nashville that he featured. I just didn't think it was that good, to be honest(and I even made a 2nd trip there, to see if maybe I just hit them on a bad day). Nope.

Know what pisses me off? It seems like more down South, but HOW MANY places close for dinner! Half of the places he's featured in Nashville, close at 3PM! WTFF?
What kind of restaurant isn't open for dinner? I don't want to have some big gourmet f*cking dinner, at 2PM! And the only reason I'm going to try one of the new DDD places, is that they DO stay open on Friday evening(close at 3, every other day). So that's my Friday place!

I couldn't be bothered cooking, so I had my patented "Leftover Noms Casserole". Which basically consisted of a cut up Veggie Sausage Roll, a small tin of Baked Beans and a few cut up New Potatoes mixed together in a bowl and microwave before applying liberal amounts of Balsamic Vinegar. That's about as refined as I get, lol. I'll never be a Michelin Star Chef because I eat the most random **** or nothing at all, haha.

My dinner today, was a breakfast buffet at Shoney's, with Sara1998(Maria), trying to soothe our hangovers. Two plates of scrambled eggs(I'll bet I ate 8-10 eggs), about 15 pieces of bacon, 8 sausage links, a bowl of grits, and a bowl of clam chowder.

Still hungover, but at least my stomach is happy!;)

I usually leave the place soaking after a really hot vindaloo at the Indian!

Trouble is with Thai I find is that although it is very flavourable, it is more aromatic than spicy.

Thanks. It just looked too damned tasty to not post a pic. I too, have severe lobster issues! I'll fight for my lobster!!!!

You wouldn't have to fight me for the lobster! Much as I adore it, I actually prefer crab - find it tastier and more tender.

So I'll be happy to swap my lobster for your crab! ;)

Tonight I was in a nibbly mood so I just filled a tray, shoved it in the oven, and half an hour later was enjoying Prawn & Coriander Spring Rolls, Brie & Cranberry Parcels, and Smoked Salmon & Asparagus Vol-au-Vents! Scrumdelumptious!

I made shepherd's pie last night, using Gordon Ramsey's recipe as a template and substituting ground turkey for the lamb and then added parsnips, bell peppers and celery in addition to the carrots and onions called for in the recipe. Then I proceeded to eat way too much of it.

I'm a vegetarian *most* of the time but I do eat small quantities of turkey now and then.

Anyway, I love shepherd's pie, and Gordon's recipe is hand-down the best I've ever eaten. However, there's a restaurant a couple blocks from my house called Bittersweet and they make a vegan shepherd's pie that is absolutley amazing. They use a base of broccoli in a savory sauce and then top it with oven-roasted brussels sprouts and mashed sweet potatoes.

Crabs are too much work! And Kwell stinks!:o:lol::lol::lol: (I ONLY know about Kwell, because a band I used to do sound for, had a song called Kwell Smell)
If I were rich, I'd have a personal crab cracker! Let them do all the work, and put the meat on my plate!

Smoked salmon and asparagus. I'm officially drooling!!!!
I need to watch the weather, for the last few days we have left for cooking out. I'd like to smoke a few things before winter officially SUCKS for us. It's raining today.....:(

Yeah, it was a crabs joke!:sorry:

Well, we were on vacation in Texas once, and we stopped at some steakhouse, which happened to have ~all you can eat crab legs~ as the special. I got it, while the rest of my family got steaks. Well, crab legs are so time consuming, that they were all finished with their meals, by the time I was just starting on my second plate of crab legs. And they kept on, "HURRY the Hell up, David!" at me. (in their defense, we were on a roadtrip to a casino, thus the rush)

So I decided that day, that crab legs are just too time consuming! Every time I think of ordering crab legs, I can hear my fam damily, yelling at me to hurry up!
Patience, is a virtue that I don't possess.

So I've kind of gotten to where I want that one meal, to be DELICIOUS, but still not too fattening. So I cook fairly elaborate meals, 7 days a week. I love to cook, and I love the challenge of making something really good, that doesn't have 3000 calories!!! And when I'm traveling, I'm obsessed with finding new restaurants on Urbanspoon.

We really were separated at birth!!!!!!

Although I am not doing as well as you have done David.

I had 75 lbs to lose - so far I have only managed to lose 21 lbs. But I am at one meal a day and I also want that meal to be delish.

I reckon I need another 21 lbs off before I can see a real difference, but at least I am smaller by 2 sizes.

I have quite a few friends that have lost a bunch of weight, and we all say that it's a life long effort! Seriously. For me, it's just all about living within my set of rules. Deviation will only lead me back to those fat clothes. And I would rather live within these rules, than eat whatever I want, all the time.

Sunday night, my friend sprang for two large supreme pizzas. Everyone there pigged out, and tried to get me to only eat one piece. But.I.didn't. And it was hard not to, but I'm firm in my resolve. I like 28" jeans more than pizza!

We were having a discussion one day about the difference in food prices across the U.S. where people were from and had moved, and people on the Florida forum were pulling up old news articles showing how things like a gallon of milk and meat and dairy have always been high down here, even back in the 80's. I don't know what prices things are where you're from, but on any given week a gallon of milk at Kroger was 2.50 and down here milk is almost 4.00. And meats and dairy all run high. But it's Florida so you can't bich that much.

Kroger's has pretty much killed Marsh, with several of their stores closing over the past few years.

Mom and me shopped Marsh's for years, I grew up in SW Ohio, so we had one. But had shopped Kroger the past 15 years or more. Sadly it seems Marsh stores have struggled to keep up and I'm surprised they're still around. I used to love our Marsh in Ohio before solely shopping Kroger. I love Krogers. I think Krogers stop somewhere in Georgia and not in Florida anywhere.

I think there are Publix in a few other states but they dominate the market down here in Florida, there's way too many of them I think and they could use some good competition. We have Sweetbay and Winn Dixie and stores like Target and stuff but I only shop Publix for a few things. They do have a decent deli and produce and I like their hot buffet items they serve. The occasional mac n cheese and fried chicken are too good lol. And surprisingly milk at Publix here is 3.69 a gallon where some other places it can run closer to 4.00 even almost 5.00 in some stores. I like their meats too but they run higher down here than prices in Ohio. Publix does have a nice bakery also.

I do know that Publix is a southern thing(my birth mother is retired from a Publix in Orlando). I've never been inside a Publix...I think in Nashville, they have both Publix and Kroger's.

Maybe prices are cheaper up here, but Kroger's has milk on sale, about every other week, for $2.50, I believe(I don't drink milk, only cook with it, so I don't buy it very often)....

But my god, has anyone noticed MEAT prices? Geez Louise, WHO pays $13 for a steak from the grocery store? I can eat a smaller one, with a salad and sides, at Texas Roadhouse, for $13, INCLUDING TIP! I don't eat a lot of meat anymore, and I'm glad, seeing how expensive it is, now!

Strangest combination EVER.

French onion soup
Scrambled eggs scampi(my own invention)
Canadian bacon
American bacon!
Creamed spinach(the spinach was a bad idea for the combo, even though it was still good).

Beautiful day here, so I decided to smoke some boneless pork ribs. Put a garlic, rosemary, and thyme rub on it, and let it chill all day. Put Jack Daniels wood chips on top of charcoal, and let it cook slowly. Mmmmm!
Having that, with french onion soup, and a small spinach salad.

They're Wheat Cereal Biscuits you have with Milk. In terms of taste, they're closest to the common cardboard box. I have mine with a layer of jam on them before the milk :p

Lobster, with a spinach salad.

So, Kroger's has had cheap lobsters, for the last year or so. First, they were $5 each, then they went to $6. Well sh*t, I was in there a couple of days ago, and it was TWO lobsters for $6! I'm sure somebody just forgot to double the ticket price, on the 2 pack, but I sure as hell bought 4 of them!

$3 lobster for dinner. GO, my cheap gourmet wanna be ass!

I'm not a picky eater, at all(I probably couldn't list 5 things I WON'T eat), but I do think egg whites are nasty. I can eat them, but would rather not....

Deviled eggs? If I can get away with it, without being seen/questioned, I lick the yellow filling out, and throw the white part away. If there are witnesses, I ~can~ eat the white part...

Scrambled eggs? I LOVE em, except for the little white stringy thing that's in there. Makes me want to HURL! My fix? I scramble them in the blender, so the little white thing is all chopped up, and I can't see it!

Fried eggs? The white part must be completely cooked. When cooking, I usually break the yellow, and work it all around, so it's all over the white part, so I don't have to eat the white only!

Brussels sprouts are amazing if cooked right. Typcially they are squishy nasty sulphuric balls of nastiness, but if only lightly steamed and served with a little malt vinegar they are actually very tasty! For Thanksgiving, I pan roasted them with bacon and chopped apples.

So I'm a huge Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives fan....I've eaten at all of the Nashville locations they've done, except for one, because it's about a half an hour drive away from downtown, and I'm not one to waste an hour of my day, driving to a restaurant. Well, it was a beautiful day today, so I figured what the hell....so I road tripped out there, and it was FANTASTIC.
Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/LovelessCafe
Urban Spoon - http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/47/769115/restaurant/Bellevue/Loveless-Cafe-Nashville
Their menu - http://www.lovelesscafe.com/files/2011/09/loveless-cafe-menu.pdf

I was so torn over what to order....I LOVE meatloaf, and haven't had any for some time, but the waitress talked me into the pulled pork BBQ. It was the BEST I've ever eaten!!! For sides, I got grits, and fried green tomatoes. Homemade biscuits, with homemade jams(3 different flavors they give you).

My meal:

I'm seriously considering driving back out there tomorrow, to try their fried chicken(for which they are most famous).

Homer - have you seen this show? It's a great documentary about the history of the diner and how it symbolises aspects of American culture. It's really interesting and has some funny points too. It's only an hour and well worth a watch, if only for the great part with Suzanne Vega, Here's a link to watch it online:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b017ss8x

Last night I had a king prawn sir fry and a frozen Margarita for dessert - that counts as dessert right? Haha.

I'm actually thinking what to make for dinner on New Years Day evening right now. I've invited someone round and am cooking... I haven't invited a woman for dinner in a while. I think I'll have a pracice run cooking everything tomorrow!

I've not seen that, but would love to. I love old 1950's Americana stuff. That place yesterday, has been in business since 1951! Today, I'm thinking either Mexican or Thai. I wanted to go back to Loveless, but don't really have time today, because I'm going to see The Zac Brown Band, and it starts at 7, so dinner, shower, etc, has to be on an EARLY schedule!

Good luck on the date! I would totally do the practice cooking night, too!

You'll have to let me know what you think of the documentary. Also, here's a diner recommendation for you. It's in Marble Falls, Texas (near Granbury) and is called the Blue Bonnet Cafe. It's been open since 1929 and the food is amazing! Proper home made, with the portion sizes to match. They have a website, which makes it look for more modern than it actually is.

http://bluebonnetcafe.net

Practice cooking gone ok so far, so guess what I had for dinner tonight?? Haha

If you're ever in Denver, or Colorado in general, be sure to have Mexican food. You won't find any better in the U.S. - I swear! It's easy to find here; you can't walk a city block without tripping over the door to a Mexican restaurant.

There are these things called waiters and waitresses and, it seems it will come as a surprise to you, that they actually want to celebrate the holidays at home with their families and not serve food to people like they have done all year.

The restaurant where I work was open on Christmas day and a lot of my colleagues had to work on Christmas day. I'm sure they all wish we closed for the holidays.

Kind of a snarky response, isn't it?

There are these things called restaurants, whose goal is to make money. These restaurants have websites. Would it be possible for them to list on their site, "WE WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY, AND REOPEN ON JAN 2nd"?

Sounds good. Yeah, I made this french onion soup(mentioned a few pages ago), and it's a mix, that makes about 8 servings, so I'll be eating it all week. ALTHOUGH, I had a date, during the last batch I made, and I was warned, "don't eat that again, before our date. Your mouth tastes like an onion!"

The brand is Cugino's ~Ridiculously Delicious~ Baked Burgundy French Onion! It's sooo freaking good. And best of all, only 60 calories a serving!:]

I'd be down for the recipe thing. Although I try to cut as many calories from mine as possible, so I'd need to remember to include all the ingredients(I try to leave out as much butter/oil as possible. You can't eat BBQ, without cole slaw!!!! It's the law! I pretty much only eat cabbage, as slaw, sauerkraut, or cabbage rolls. And it's mighty tasty, in all three forms!

I managed to eat plenty of BBQ in Texas without coleslaw! I got some strange looks but no more than usual...

I go up and down. I'm 5"10" ( this is where you tell me to stop being you again!) and I'm currently at about 190. My ideal weight is between 155-60, which is between 11 and 12 stone, a measuremtn more popular here but not used in the US. I was at 170 and going down last summer but gave myself a pass for my holiday (which I totally don't regret) and then just didn't get back into the gym habit as hard as I was going at it before I went. Typical.

I'm back at the gym now and being quite strict. I'm not worried about it too much because I know I can lose it and I'll get there.

You really need to get over your cole slaw prejudice. It's 2012, for god's sake!;) Do you have Kentucky Fried Chicken there? If you don't like their slaw, well, there's something WRONG with you!:sorry::laugh:

Okay, we're working with the same body, here. I was up to 215, 4 years ago. Got a slight handle on it, and got down to about 180. Then got REALLY motivated 2.5 years ago, and got all the way down to about 138(yes, I had constant questions about if I was dying). But I like being skinny, even if my body doesn't want to be that way. This body WANTS to weigh about 190. I want it to weigh about 140. Lifelong, never ending, constant battle. I was 150.0 this morning. But even the 12 lbs that I've gained...I can feel it on me. I can feel my cheeks getting bigger(and F*CK that- I've got a big head anyway, and I finally fired it, and it's NOT coming back). I felt better when I was 140. I LOVE feeling thin, and I actually like being hungry, during the daytime.
I was telling a chubby friend of mine, that I'd gained 10 lbs since Thanksgiving, and he said, "what, are you up to 120 now?" But the thing is - I've never completely gotten rid of my beer gut, even at 140. Now stop being me, because we both know that's probably NEVER going to happen!:wavey:

I've already decided that today is going to be meatless. I'm thinking veggie stirfry, super spicy, to make up for the lack of meat taste.:(

Stone? That's your measurement there? How many pounds is a stone?

I hate exercise, and I'm probably most proud, that I did my weight loss, without ONE IOTA of exercise! Never lifted a finger! Just good old fashioned starvation!:laugh:

We use pounds too, otherwise it is too inaccurate. Sorry, I wasn't be very clear. We would state our weight in stones and pounds rather than just purely pounds. For example, if someone weighs 160lb they wouldn't say that. Instead they would say 11st 4lb or, if they're being less accurate, 11 and a half stone (which is 11st 7lb).

Recipe please?? I love all things seafood and King Prawns are my favourite food, cooked any way at all. This sounds lovely.

I've been trying to find my actual recipe for the Salmon & Prawn Bake but it's disappeared - long ago I think. For years now I've just been making it from memory and I don't even know the weights & measures of anything.

But it's really easy, basically -

Salmon fillets (cut into largish chunks) and any kind of prawns you want in a shallow(ish) oven dish.

Make a basic cheese sauce (I like it with a really mature cheddar with plenty of cracked black pepper) and pour over the fish.

Part cook some potatoes and then slice them and arrange over the fish/sauce.

Sprinkle with grated cheese and dill.

Bake in oven at 200 for around 35-40 minutes.

Salmon and prawns should be perfect and potatoes nice and crisp on top.

Although, Al, please note - the Lochmuir Salmon and Prawn Bake from Marks & Spencer is almost identical to my recipe. I get this sometimes when I can't be bothered to cook and it tastes just like mine. And can't go wrong with this one - especially if you have guests, I swear they'd never know it wasn't homemade!;)

Ahhh ok, so it seems kind of like a fish pie? I can do that no bother! Sounds lovely!

Craving some hearty winter "Mom" cooking.....

That kinda cooking is always good. When I feel like that I make soup or toad in the hole.

It's Sausages in a Yorkshire Pudding.

Though to be fair, that doesn't sound any more family friendly lol.

I'm often amazed at the differences in American and British culture, and diet. I would like to assume that we're more similar than we are....

Although I've heard of Yorkshire pudding my whole life, I guess I was just imagining that it was actually pudding.

Why do they call it pudding?

Because in English culture the term "Pudding" doesn't mean a dessert dish. It describes a savoury dish, like Steak and Kidney pudding, or blood pudding.

.

Yup. Homer: You make a basic batter mixture and pour it into a dish and place the sausages into it. You then back it so that the batter rises up over the top of the sausages (although they are still exposed at the top of the dish). It's so good. You should add soda water and/or a little beer to the batter mix to make it extra light.

Haha! I've been trying to explain (in vain) to my friends exactly what biscuits, as in biscuits and gravy, are! We really don't have an equivalent here. The closest would be a scone but that's not really right at all.

True, although we do have sweet puddings too sometimes.

My edit was the Richard Gere reference. Man, that is a f*cking GOLDEN joke, and I got ZERO love for it... You get the reference, right? If not, Google him with gerbil(or is it hamster)?;)

So the pan sits underneath a pan of cooking meat, and the drippings are what cooks the pudding? Do I understand that correctly?

It's so strange, that something as simple as biscuits, don't exist there! Do you eat chicken livers and gizzards there? (don't think that's a normal thing here, I'm in the 1 percentile! It's a hillbilly/country food)

Yeah, "pudding" is what throws us. Pudding, at least to me, is vanilla or chocolate, and creamy, and you eat it with a spoon, for dessert.

Oh I got the Richard Gere joke! I did mean to applaud your reference but I won't now after such shameful trawling for approval

Yorkshire pudding is all cooked in the one pan. You part cook the sausages in the pan and then pour the batter over and put it in the oven. The batter then cooks and bubbles up over the sausages, with the time taken to cook the batter finishing off the sausages too.

No gizzards here (unless they have a different name) but we do have chicken livers although you mostly find them made into pate. There's no chicken fried steak either!

I'm shameless!

So the grease from the meat is what cooks the pudding? Wikipedia kept mentioning drippings from one pan, cooking the batter, in another....

Gizzards are liver's homely cousin! Chewy as a car tire, but mighty tasty!!!! I think I've almost lost a tooth, trying to bite through one! The gizzard is a filter in the digestive tract of a chicken. Yes, sounds disgusting....I don't eat sound, I eat taste!

We make pate from liver, too. But I still like them fried. When we do our Nashville trip, I'll have to take you to my favorite restaurant there, and you can sample mine!

WHAT A PROUD MOMENT IN MY LIFE!!! MY 7000th POST, WAS TALKING ABOUT CHICKEN GIZZARDS, IN THE DINNER THREAD!!!!!

You can cook it in a separate pan I suppose but that's just more washing up and I'm all for efficiency!

Ummm... after taking me to dinner to your favourite restaurant, I hope you're still talking about chicken gizzards?!?

Oh, I am about efficiency, too. I just kept trying to figure out how one pan could drip into another....what kind of "double pan" setup was used.

Well, I was talking about my gizzards, but we'll see how much we've had to drink first!;):blob2::o:]

That's very close to what I had last night. It was a sunny day yesterday(albeit still very cold), so I fired up the grill, and smoked a salmon fillet. Had a bit of eggplant Parmesan, and a small spinach salad.

God, I love smoked salmon!!!!
