Tonight I can see myself buried under my weight in textbooks for my Personal Development essay, so scavenging for the last of my Christmas Jelly Beans shall no doubt be my dinner treat :p

Know what you mean - I get quite stressed if cooking for guests.
Plus the fact that most of my time is spent in the kitchen when everyone else is chilling with the el plonko!
Oh yes, and I'm usually so hot that by the time I can join in at the table I am literally dripping, with a face the colour of a baboons butt
Yeah, I HAD BEEN just going and buying a rotisserie chicken or something, and buying a bottle of wine, and taking that. But I went with making a BIG spinach salad, which actually went over quite well...-
Bag of fresh spinach, mandarin oranges, almond slivers, green onions, red onions(mostly for color), grated(f*ck, I can never remember the brand name) swiss, crumbled feta cheese, balsamic vinegar dressing, and raspberry balsamic vinegar dressing. It was a big hit.
Oh, hosting is the worst! And I got that about 3 times tonight. "David, you have such a great house....you should host big get togethers for all of us!". "Ummmm, I don't have enough parking?!?!";)
I host my family, for all of our May-Sept holidaze, so I know all about baboons butt!!!! Although I don't sweat it really, anymore. About 3-4 glasses of wine/beer, and they just don't seem as important, as they once did. "You know where the fridge is.....get it yourself!" :p

Thanks, I'm gonna have that again tonight, and I'm sauteing some fake crab meat, with stir fry vegetables, and green curry sauce, over a bit of rice.
I went to three parties, over the weekend, all of which had great food to eat. It's pay the piper, bitch, time now....

I've been beating up on myself lately because I've been such a sloth all winter long. Although I'm not exactly fat, I felt a little doughey. But going to the beach has made me feel so much better. You could not imagine the visual atrocities I witnessed shoe-horned into a speedo. Even though I was as pale as a dead fish, I felt like the belle of the ball by comparison. It's all relative.

I too, have felt like a sloth all winter....craving comfort foods, and not exercising like I should. And even though my weight is where I want it, I feel all flabby, right above my belt. I wasn't like that, last fall. I need to start doing situps, and maybe do some running.
Today is the first day I've actually been warm, since October(it feels like 80, outside today), so I have no excuse!
Time to get off the Ledge and Facebook, and get my ass outside!

Question...my friend called me OCD last night, because I wouldn't pig out with him, at 2AM...
A Jimmy John's driver walked into the bar in which I was playing pool, and plops down a box of free subs(about twice as many subs, as there were patrons). So my friend(who could stand to lose about 25 lbs) ate two of them, and gave me endless sh*t, because I wanted one, but wouldn't eat one.
I pigged out, all last weekend, and I'm up a few lbs, so I know what I have to do. Does that make me OCD? I call that WILLPOWER.
I can go to Steak and Shake with my friends, at 4AM, and watch them all pig out, while I have a glass of water. OF COURSE I want to pig out with them, but I no longer put that sh*t into my body. I know what it takes, to make this ~300 lb wannabe guy~, weigh in at 137. I know what it takes, and I'm willing to pay that price, no matter what. As much as I LOVE to eat, I love being thin, even more.
My friend pissed me off, just a little bit.....your thoughts?

Good for you - when you have the willpower you have to stick with it because it's not always there. I have zero willpower at the moment when it comes to food and I despair!

First of all, your fat friend is a moron because he's throwing out the term "OCD" without knowing what it really means. You may be obsessed, but you have control of over your obsession and the object of your obsession (your weight) is rational, i.e., it has a desired, measurable outcome. Tapping the doorknob five times before you open it (aka, real OCD) is not rational. He's also a schnerr- someone who takes advantage of freebies. I really have no respect for people like that. Just because something is free doesn't mean you have to take double the normal amount.
Anyway, next time someone tries to goad you into eating their crappy food, just pull out some pictures of scantily-clad morbidly obese people - with rolls upon rolls of lard - and lay them out while they are trying to eat. If they can dish it, they can take it.

Thank you. That's kind of what I was thinking, too. Just because he has no willpower, he shouldn't try to make me feel like sh*t, because I can say no. And yeah, I thought, while he was eating the 2nd one, "well good for you, now you need to lose 5 more lbs!"
I'll admit to being obsessed with keeping the weight off, but believe me, I have my moments of pigging out. But then it's time to pay the piper. Actually, I kind of like it like that. I ate so much great stuff, this past weekend. It was great, and I enjoyed it immensely. And I don't mind making up for it now. It's like I got my heroin fix this past weekend, and now I'm in rehab!

Last night we went to our fav Indian restaurant and I had Beef Samosas and Onion Bhajis to start, followed by a King Prawn Hot Madras curry with pilau rice and some naan bread. Deeelish!
Tonight I am cooking sausages - we have the most amazing local butcher and he wins loads of awards for his sausages and pies. They don't have any rubbish ingredients, only the very finest.
Anyway, I chose his Pork, Whisky and Marmalade sausages for tonight. I am pan-frying them and then I let them cook gently in red wine, fennel, onions and garlic, and serve them with mashed potatoes and peas - and, of course, a very large glass of red plonk.
We just call this dish "Posh Bangers and Mash" !

Krogers had ground chicken on sale yesterday, so I bought a couple of lbs, since it's so low fat.
Bleck.
I made it into taco meat, even adding chili powder, to try and cover the lack of flavor.
Nope. Still tastes like ass.

Even though I swore I was eating spinach salad today, I bought a poblano pepper last week, that's going to go to waste.....so I'm gonna stuff it with ground seasoned chicken, and some cheese and salsa. A healthier version of my chile relleno.

Try marinated (lime juice, garlic, salt and pepper) grilled chicken breast that has been sliced or diced with sliced bell peppers and onions that have been sauted for about a minute or two. It tastes a lot better! You can add cilantro or lettuce/tomatoes/cheese on top. Mission Corn Thin Tortillas are 40 calories each. We heat those on a griddle or on the grill for a minute or so. Limit to two because they're really good!

Well basically I just ate 3 boxes of stouffer's meals b/c I am depressed. For me though that is abnormal considering I usually only eat 2-3 times per week. I am not on a diet and have always eaten this way. I always see eating as a chore. Part of me would love to change/break the cycle. Plus at 6' 140 lbs I feel frail atd ugly. Would actually love to put on some weight and actually feel good about the person staring back at me in the mirror.

So do you go 2 days without eating? 2-3 days a week, of eating, is quite concerning(and this from someone who only eats one meal a day).

We went to A&W for dinner because I had a therapy appointment, my parents came with, and my mother didn't feel like cooking.
My stepdad invented an awful game involving throwing french fries at me. If it hit me, he got one point. If it got stuck in my hair, he got two points. If it went through one of my curls (like scoring a basket), he got three points.
Go Your Own Way played in there at one point, so that was fun.

Seriously, it's a springtime RITUAL around here, and I know HUNDREDS of people who hunt them. People sell them to stores(not me, I eat em, cuz they're DELICIOUS), and the stores resell them for $30-40/lb. And I'll pack and freeze any, if I find an abundance.
Take a look at the Wiki pic, there's no making a mistake, on what you're picking. Hell, I've done it since I was probably 5 years old!

Obviously this is last night's feast as I don't think I could have even typed Canapé last night.
A very good friend of mine organised a Cocktail and Canapé night for her hospitality course, raising money for a local hospice. Of course, I went along with two other good friends to support her. She'd designed all of the canapés herself, cooked them and concocted the cocktails.
Before I left I had a Falafel and spinach burger with pesto on top, carrots and new potatoes. When I got there, I had Italian bread with cheese and chive dip, vegetable samosas and vegetable spring rolls. Then for the main it was fish and chip canapés and red onion sautéed in red wine served on tiny pastry dishes and then dessert was raspberry meringue then mint creams half dipped in chocolate and then shortbread.
Yum. Yum.

I tend to put hot curry/hot chilli/hot paprika and other spices in dishes that you would think they'd never be right - but boy oh boy do they ever enhance them!

It's now official...we have twin taste buds!
I can now tolerate eating a vegetarian meal, once or twice a week now. I've learned how to use spices, to compensate for not having a slab of CARCASS on my plate!
Plain stir-fry veggies, can now be my entree, as long as I've enhanced them with red curry, or ANY curry(I use red, green, and yellow, just depending on my mood). My two slices of bacon, were my only meat intake, yesterday. I do love a taste of it!
My latest spice though, is cheap as sh*t. I bought some finely ground red pepper, at Big Lots, and you can really melt yourself with it! It's awesome.
And yes, on the seafood, too. I don't know that I've ever tasted any seafood, that I didn't LOVE!
If weight weren't an issue, I could eat every meal at Red Lobster, for the rest of my life!

Sunday - Lancashire Hotpot (the final one until next winter - it's definitely not a Spring/Summer dish)

Some shrimp scampi, with stir fry veggies added in. Half of an ear of bi-color corn(first corn I've seen at the store this year - DAMN it was sweet and tender), and a small spinach salad. Oh yeah, and I sauteed some of the morel mushrooms, in garlic and butter, then put em in the toaster oven, to try and crisp them up a bit. So, everyone knows I go to Nashville all the time. Well, I always eat at the same places, every trip. This time, I decided it was going to be a new place every night.
So I got on Urbanspoon, and researched a bunch of new places. Tonight, I went to a restaurant called Rotiers, for "southern cooking". I had fried chicken gizzards, with onion rings, a house salad, and rolls. And it was delicious. The best gizzards I've ever had(yes, I'm sure 95% are wanting to hurl now:mad:).

It's quite bizarre really as it's in the middle of nowhere, - so we're seated at a window table in a really authentic and traditional feeling Spanish place and have views of rolling English moors (think Wuthering Heights country).
Anyway it was deelish and HOT HOT HOT!
To start we shared a Chilli Con Queso - HOT dish.
Then the hubby had a Steak Chemichanga (that's the spelling they use!), and I had a Chilli Burrito - REALLY HOT dish.
So to cool down we both had Mexican Deep Fried Icecream - to DIE FOR!
Had a long detour drive back home thru the countryside to let it all settle.

Louie- can you send me this recipe?
This is pretty much how I did mine:
http://www.bhg.com/recipe/seafood/creole-crab-cakes/
And if you don't wanna do all that, grocery stores like Earth Fare have some really amazing pre made crab & crawfish cakes in their fresh seafood sections. :D
I just kinda winged the sauce I drizzled on them: I melted butter in a bowl, added fresh chopped garlic, squeezed some fresh lemon in, added spicy brown mustard, a little bit of olive oil to bind it all together, and then I used a wisk to make it the right consistency. It really could have used a bit more complexity of flavor, I need to figure out what else to throw into it. The sauce tends to separate by the way, so don't make it until you're about to serve the crab cakes. :)
As far as rice (be it wild, white, brown, etc), I always cook it in some form of broth vs water. Makes for much better flavor.
Asparagus is easy: just throw some butter, olive oil, garlic, and whatever other flavors you want in a pan & saute. Oh, and I always cut the bottom inch or so off my asparagus stalks: you know, the tough/fibrous/white part on the bottom. They seem to be more tender & soak up flavor better that way :)
I actually really wanted to make crawfish cakes last night, those are my true favorite. But I couldn't find crawfish at the 4 grocery stores I went to yesterday. It's weird, crawfish was easy to find in Charlotte... but I struck out trying to find it in Austin yesterday. And we're much closer to Louisiana & the Gulf here!

Tonight I am making Pepperoni & Stilton Stuffed Mushrooms.
It's so simple and delicious -
You just get some large open cap mushrooms, pop in a blob of Stilton or any cheese you like, top with Pepperoni or Parma Ham, and put them on a baking tray. In the tray add some baby tomatoes on the vine, sprinkle chopped red and green chillies over everything along with some finely sliced garlic. Finally drizzle olive oil over it all and pop it in the oven.
You definitely need some crusty bread or garlic bread to dunk in all those delicious juices!
It always turns out right, there's not really anything to go wrong with this one
And (for Homer) the more chillies the bigger the kick!

I've heard from many gardeners around the country that last year was just a bad year for tomatoes. I did three plants last year which is usually plenty, and I doubled them just like you this year.
When I was a kid my parents did a lot of canning; tomatoes peaches, pears, berry jams... Home-canned tomatoes taste the best - and someday I'll be doing it myself when I have the room to grow a few more dozen plants. This year, I've got two Ace, one purple Cherokee, one Lemon Boy, one Green Zebra and a Mr. Stripey.

Yeah, but 5 could easily become 15. Or more.
Back when I lived in town, I started with 4 tomato plants. I never really loved tomatoes, until I grew my own. OMG, they are so much better than anything you can buy at the store! Then I bought a place in the country,....and lookout! I've converted two flower beds, into tomato beds!!!! Because nothing is prettier, than a bunch of ripe tomatoes, hanging there!
Canning IS a pain in the ass, though. I will admit that. It takes me about a 3 hour evening, to can one 12 quart batch. BUT, I just wait until I'm off one evening, with no plans, and just watch TV from the kitchen, until I'm finished.
Never having had braces, I'm curious about the pain. Is it the worst at first, then gradually subsides, as the teeth "give" to the pressure? How often do they "crank you down" again?

Never having had braces, I'm curious about the pain. Is it the worst at first, then gradually subsides, as the teeth "give" to the pressure? How often do they "crank you down" again?
The initial pain centered around the brackets cutting into the inside of my mouth/lips. I basically spent the first few days with wax covering each tooth. It was so attractive! At this point, the issue is kind of two-fold. My teeth hurt, because they are moving. But the way my bite is, when I try to bite down normally, my top teeth are encountering a bracket on the bottom left side which makes it really awkward. I'm scared to try and chew anything substantial because of this. Eating is SUCH a hassle. After I eat anything, I have a ten minute ordeal of brushing, cleaning, etc. It's just not worth it. So, I have lost 3 lbs in one week. Maybe I'm on to something here!
And to answer your last question, I am to go in every 8 weeks for tightening/new wires/torture.

Sounds like the excuse I'd need, to have a big milkshake for every meal! Or some creamy soups.
I sort of made my own braces..... When I was two, I fell down a flight of stairs, and knocked out my two front teeth. So I had no front teeth until my adult teeth came in. As a result(the dentist said, from pushing my tongue through that gap), I had pretty bad "buck teeth", when my adult teeth came in. Well, in 5th grade, I started playing trumpet....it wasn't until about 7-8th grade, that we noticed that my buck teeth were disappearing! The pressure of playing trumpet, had gradually pushed them back into place. And I played until my freshman year in college. My teeth are pretty straight since then.
I'd be PIGGING out, that week before you go back in!!!!

Can you say OBSESSIVE?:wavey:
I usually have about 35 plants, but they didn't do very well last year, so I figured I'd double my efforts this year. Several years ago, I got my two aunts to teach me how to "can" tomatoes. And I usually can about 35 quarts every summer.
Why does one guy need so many tomatoes, you ask?
Salsa. Love me some salsa. Every day of the year. Homemade salsa.:o
Did you know that for you blokes tomatoes are a great natural defence against prostate cancer? So keep up that intake

I had this same thought. They work better when cooked.
Last night I had Barilla whole grain pasta with Newman's Own Sockarooni sauce and veggie loose sausage. This is a new dish I tried in the vein of eating healthier versions of things I already like and are simple to make. This one is a winner for me. I served it with Romano.

This is interesting, tomatoes suck because they are grown in FL which is a lousy place to grow tomatoes due to there being no nitrogen in the soil and lots of pests. I've often wondered why we can grow such amazing fruit in our backyards while the grocery store's tomatoes are crap.

They do grow things here and there are farmers markets along places but from what I know it's true most of the tomato growing starts in the wintertime around here. It's true the soil is sandy all over, even inland. A hard rain it just seeps into the ground afterwards. I'm sure they grow lots of things down here and I haven't seen a cornfield since I left Ohio but I'm sure they're here somewhere inland as you go.

I had to dig this up because what I'm eating right now is scrumptious! My mum made it and I thought it'd be gross but it's not! So tonight's dinner is chili with a twist. It's Kidney beans, sweetcorn, red pepper, green olives, mushrooms, carrot and tomato.

My favorite thread, resurrected!!! So I'm on vacation, and I try to find new restaurants, all the time. I usually go to Urbanspoon.com. Anyway, here's what I've had the past few days.
Wednesday - Southern cooking. Fried chicken livers and gizzards, with onion rings and a salad. Delicious!
Thursday - I went to a new mexican restaurant, and had a fish taco, and chilli relleno. It was great, and better than the mexican restaurant that I usually go to.
Friday - Authentic Cajun restaurant. An absolute HOLE IN THE WALL DIVE. The rent on the dump couldn't be more than $300/month. But the reviews stated that....I had cajun catfish, with dirty rice and slaw. Everything was awesome, even if a little overpriced(especially given the seedy location).
Saturday - I went back to my "southern cooking" restaurant, because everyone just RAVES about, "oh, you HAVE to try their burgers, they're the best anywhere". Well, I got the one they recommended as the best, and I was totally let down. It was nothing that I couldn't have made at home. Yeah, it was a big burger on a French roll, but like I said, I could have made the SAME, at home. I was expecting to have my socks blown off, so I was let down. Needless to say, I'll be sticking to my livers and gizzards, next time I'm in town.
Tonight? Thai is my target for today! After a bland, no heat, burger yesterday, I need some HEAT. Set me on fire! I'm ordering 5, on a scale of 5!:]

I just made possibly the best thing I've ever made! Smoked salmon with creamy dill sauce, and creamed spinach on the side.
I put the salmon fillet in aluminum foil this morning, and put a rub on it, then put some liquid smoke in the foil, and left it in the fridge all day. I got home from work, and started a charcoal fire, with a pack of wet mesquite chips on top of it. Put the salmon foil pack on top, and let it cook/smoke for about 30 minutes. HEAVENLY! Seriously, I love to cook, but this is probably the tastiest, most restaurant quality dish, I've ever made! I can't wait to do it again!

Honestly, I just LOVE to cook. Love it! And after I lost the weight, I think I became an even better cook. Because before, I'd just cook a big pan of CRAP(tasty crap, but definitely crap that wasn't good for you). Now, I've learned how to make things that are good for you. How to make a fish fillet, without frying it. How to spice up veggies, where they're not boring. Divorcing red meat and bread(95% of the time, anyway), was the best decision I ever made.

It's an hour to the one nearest to me(Indy). I usually plan my Indy trips around a stop at TJs.
There's one in Nashville that I go to, but Tennessee's archaic laws prohibit anything but a liquor store from selling wine, so no $3 Chuck!!! They told me that TJs most likely won't expand in TN, since wine is a big part of their sales.

It does feel like my throat is restricting but the worst effect is a really intense itching sensation - imagine having the worst itch possible and not being able to ease it because you can't get at it, being right down inside the back of your throat!!!
I get exactly the same thing with raw carrot.

We are food twins. Although I've had a tad of heartburn lately, so I've been easing up a little bit. Okay, I love salsa, and pretty much eat it daily(usually snack on it, while I'm cooking dinner). Well, my jalapeno plants did really well this year, and they're starting to go to waste, so I was doubling the amount I was putting in my salsa. So, getting violent hiccups from it might be going too far??? So I've been toning back "the constant contest" I have, for testing my ability to eat extreme heat.

Honestly, the SPICES are the reason that Chinese and Mexican are my two favorite foods. I want to walk away from the table, in a sweat!:wavey:
And so have I - too spicey and the heartburn/acid reflux starts up. This is so frustrating when spice is the spice of life LOL!!!
Funnily enough Mexican doesn't seem to start it up - but I'm steering clear of Chinese and Indian right now. I love a HOT vindaloo but it's not worth the pain! :distress:

That is weird. I really don't understand. I'm built like a tank. I'm not allergic to anything. I go to the doctor every 5 years, whether I need to or not!
(I'm very lucky, and appreciate the fact that I am, very much so)
I wonder what it is about them, that causes such a reaction?
At the risk of boring you to death (:D) I found this article - seems allergies to carrot and celery are related.........
IgE mediated reactions to celery are common in food allergic adults in Europe. Sensitization to celery is frequently associated with birch and/or mugwort pollinosis, hence the term "birch- mugwort- celery- syndrome" has been established. There is evidence that birch pollen and celery allergy are highly related in Central Europe, while celery allergy is most frequently related to mugwort pollen in Southern Europe. Moreover, allergies to carrot and spices, predominantly of the umbelliferous family, are highly associated to celery allergy. Celery can induce allergic reactions of immediate type from oral contact urticaria to anaphylactic shock. About 30% of patients with oral allergy syndrome are allergic to celery.
Diagnostic tests like skin tests with raw celery and active allergen extracts have high positive predictive values, while the negative predictive values are low. Roots, also called tuber or celeriac, and sticks from the celery plant are used in nutrition and diagnostic procedures. Usually the frequency of sensitization to celery tuber is higher than to celery stick in celery allergic subjects. Celery tuber and stick are consumed as a raw or cooked vegetable and as a spice which is a common hidden allergen in various processed foods. Despite its high allergenic potency and at least partial thermostability celery and celery products are currently not included in mandatory labelling regulations for food allergens.

Interesting. I did go through allergy testing, about 3 years ago, when I was suffering a chronic cough. 85 allergy injections, and I did test positive for one type of mold, called alternaria. But nothing other than that.
Steering clear of Chinese? God forbid. And I'm a cheap f*cker. Cheap chinese buffets are my weakness. There's one in Nashville, that has sushi, too. I load it up with wasabi, and cover the chinese with the red pepper sauce, and I'm usually DRENCHED in sweat, when I leave. HEAVEN.

They start you out with a series of 50(of the most common allergies), and if there are no reactions, they give you another series of 35. I was sore, to say the least(although it's really strange about our nerve endings....one would hurt like a son of a bitch, and the next one, an inch away, wouldn't be that bad). And they number your arms with a Sharpie, so they know which one is which. I looked like a tattooed whore!!!

I usually get a box to go, so that I'm not tempted to keep going back. That said, I can pack a lot of sh*t into that box! General Tso, peppered beef, 2-3 "rat on a stick", 3 crab rangoons, about 6 pieces of sushi, fried crab meat, and a couple other things.
I put on a few lbs this summer, and I'm working semi hard, at getting it back off. I've lost about 3 lbs in the past week. I was down to about 140, in the spring. A couple of weeks ago, I was up to 150. 147 was the reading today.... God, I love to eat.

Thanks. Tonight was okay. I'm trying to knock off 3-4 lbs, so I'm focusing on a more healthy menu right now.
Yesterday's hot wings kicked my healthy fish's ass. The healthy fish was okay, but....dammit, we're heading into winter! I want MEATLOAF, and GUMBO, and CHILI! And my CABBAGE ROLLS!
Come visit for a week, and I'll put on 7 lbs that week, and we'll do the upper case menu!:p
FWIW, in the winter, I usually try to allow myself one "Sunday meal"(the upper case crap) per week.
I'd pay $20/day, to be able to eat what I want, without gaining. FML. Oh well, life happens.....

Makes 2 of us! I'm just back from 2 weeks in Texas and had so much great, great food. My favourite is seafood though, shelfish especially, so last night I had nothing but a semi-large bowl of mussels with garlic and lemon for dinner. Quick, simple and cheap from the local chinese supermarket - cheap food is always good - and you don't have to do anything fancy with them. Brilliant!
I'm more of a baker than anything else (a master baker in fact...) and so that's my thing. My banana bread is awesome and I also make killer Stollen every Christmas.

I never do too much when preparing mussels. You really don't need to. Cook them for a couple of minutes with some garlic, drizzle of lemon jouce over the top - that's it. If I;d had some white wine I'd have chucked a little in too. They're also great with flaked chili over them.

Honestly, the reason I really don't like "American home cooking" is because I find it to be bland. Although I can spice up a beef stew like nobody's bidness!

We'll rip that town a new one! Actually, the places I've seen all the seafood there(believe it or not) is in the "international markets". I'm always looking for new chinese and mexican things to try(Nashville has a huge ethnic population), and one of these markets absolutely reeks!!! Tubs and tubs and tubs and tubs of fresh seafood(some of it still alive). Especially now that it's heading into winter, I really should look at hitting one of these, as I'm leaving town, and pack a cooler full.
I'm heading down for a week, on the 6th!:]
I could really give up meat altogether, as long as I had a steady supply of cheese and nuts.
Sour cream? There's no such thing as too much! My main beef with authentic Mexican restaurants, is that they don't top everything with sour cream.

Well they're good of course but give me a strong Blue Stilton or Stinking Bishop any day!!!! Or a really ripe Camembert or Gorgonzola that's literally walking itself off the shelf! Scrumdelumpcious!!! :]

Beam me up, Scotty!:D
Same as you - I could give up meat without too much difficulty so long as you don't take away my fish/seafood/shellfish and cheese!
BTW, does anyone think the same as me - that lobster is over-rated and fresh crab is actually much tastier?

Mine isn't either but it is on the coast so the restaurants get great seafood. I love proper fresh seafood markets though. Yes, your way is best for having yeast! So on my trip to Nashville, which I'm planning in the next few years, we'll hit a seafood market then a bar - genius!
I'm fine with both sweet and savoury. I LOVE cheese! How could anyone not?!
How about a Scottish accent? :wavey:
Sour cream goes well on everything! The more the better!
Pick me up on the way won't you? Tennessee is one of the States I haven't visited yet but would love to!

Oh no, a food/beverage item we disagree on! :distress:
As far as alcohol goes, I am strictly a Wine or Beer gal!

On the very very very rare occasions that I drink, I go for something strong enough to make it worth it. So I tend to go for Whiskey, Absynthe or Ouzo.

I climb trees shoeless in pajamas whilst in Cities I've never been in before in parks in the middle of the night. What do you think, haha? It's a wonder I made it out of London alive the first time I went there. I got wasted so easily. Because I don't drink for the most part, a small drop could knock me out lol. I have no tolerance for it.

Believe me, it's an ACQUIRED taste. I too, always hated it....especially the smell. About 5 years ago, I started hanging out at this bar, where everyone's always buying rounds of whiskey shots. Well, one thing led to another, and I eventually discovered that it's my favorite liquor now!:xoxo:
I liken it MUCH to, just as I love spicy food, I like it BECAUSE it's strong. I like strong flavors, in both my food and beverage.
My family makes fun of my red wine I drink...they always say, "that smells, that's why you like it". I like taste that slaps you upside the head!:D:rolleyes::thumbsup::shrug:;)

I'm smoking some boneless pork ribs, with Jack Daniel's wood chips(made from the used barrels....smells just like Jack!). I put a garlic, rosemary and thyme rub on them, first thing this morning.
I've been obsessed with smoking lately. I guess mainly because I know winter will be all over us like a cheap suit, in short order...:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Chinese is my favorite! Followed by Mexican.
I only allow myself Chinese though, maybe once a month. I always eat too much!:D
