I hear this, I bought a pretty scarf from The Gap, it is tan with a subtle purple flowered print, one of the long thin ones. But I hardly ever wear it. When I first get a scarf, I'll wear it a bit, then it goes in the closet and gets forgotten.

I tried to learn to play for awhile. I never got the hang of it, so settled with a guy who can play like a mad man :thumbsup: I'm starting to learn again a bit. I just want him to show me where to put my fingers...and he keeps trying to teach me music theory :rolleyes:

I had a cairn terrier like Toto when I was a boy. His name was Dude. Without a doubt one of the best kinds of house dogs you can have. he was sweet as hell...loved everybody...and he was so playful.

Yep. I used to live there *sigh*. That's why I have to go there all the time in the summer, because I am from a place with rivers, too, and I really can't bear not to swim in them all summer. SF doesn't really have any, and it's cold here all summer anyway. :)

I feel very lucky, actually. :nod: That river is only about a 15 min. drive from downtown Chico, and then, They have Bidwell Park (biggest park west of the mississippi), and a river runs through the park - at the beginning of the park, they cemented off a big area of the river, so it's like a giant pool, and that place is only a five minute walk from my friends house. :woohoo:

Hmmm, a river near Chicago? I'm not sure either.... :shocked: It's nice to have it by where you live, though. :nod: We also went to this campout party at this guys house that was about a 20 minute drive from Chico, and he had a big creek right on his property, that he could just swim in all the time, whenever he wanted, and his kids played in it and stuff. I went in, it was very warm. Anyway, I thought that was really, really cool. :D It's like a swimming pool, but way, way better. :laugh:

And then you go out, and you always see people you know, and if you don't, you'll know someone by the end of the night, and everyone talks to you, and all the bars and the eating places are in the same three blocks right by the campus. There's lots of cute lesbians, too!! :laugh: And in the summer, everyone's in good shape and scantily clad. We were out one night, and this girl comes up to the bar, and she was wearing low cut cammo pants, and a black string bikini top. :lol: She looked really good, though, and actually that's fairly normal. It's really hot, there. Oh, but if you move there, you are required to get tattoos... :shrug: :p

I think it's great how Californians refer to Northern Cali and southern...as if California were its own country. In many ways, it really is. I lived in Canoga Park (LA) with my pop for a year back in 97'...it was weird out there. Been to San Diego for 2 weeks on vacay before and I loved it.

That town does sound really fun!!! I go up north to a lake in NH and I love swimming. It's never really warm though, maybe a couple of weeks mid summer. But it isn't too bad right now, and when it's hot it feels great. I was up a couple of weeks ago and swam with my little cousins, they're 9 and 10 and are so cute! We swam out to the raft and jumped and dove off of it.

Their Dad is my uncle but he is my age. My grandma had him later in life, 41 I think. The girls got a kick out of the fact that their Dad is my uncle, they were giggling. We had a blast.

by the way, about the hair: when I spend any time in the sun, I get lotsa red highlights I used to have a light strawberry reddish blonde when I was 25....it was actually quite pretty, but now only a common mousy brownish blah color... :(
