I want to kill my neighbor's Chiuauas

Yes, it's time for another SortaSavageLike rant!

My neighbor across the hall, Stacey, happens to own the two most obnoxious Chihuahuas ever brought into existence. All they do is fu**&ng bark and scream, yes, scream! all day, as if the slightest air current will set them into a psychotic frenzy. Two in the morning and they're screeching for God knows what reason. I ran into them a few nights ago and all they did was follow me around and bark. Every time someone leaves or enters the apartment, they howl for 15 minutes straight. The only advantage is that they'll tear their vocal cords to shreds in a few months and will be completely mute for the rest of their lives.

God, I hate those things. Completely sociopathic beasts who aren't suited for human companionship. I keep expecting to hear two gun shots to ring out, and I'll have a nice quiet evening just for once.

Er...have you ever petted them? Have you talked to your neighbor about them? There's dogs like that in our neighborhood, too. But they stop, sometimes. Is your neighbor one of those pet owners who hasn't really trained their pets? Have you heard the words "I've taken them to obedience school, but they won't stop yowling" come out of your neighbor's mouth?

What I'm drifting towards with this is that most dogs can be trained. It takes a bit of effort, but you are a crap dog owner if you don't take that time and effort (don't even get me started about children owners, haha).
I think chihuahuas are prone to this type of behavior, but they might be able to be trained.
I just don't get why your neighbor lets them do that, unless she isn't home at the time.
The first time my (theoretical) dog yowled for 15 minutes, I would be looking up "how to train dogs not to make you want to kill them" online, calling my vet, etc. Or I would begin plans for building a soundproof box. I mean, dogs will bark and whatnot, but this sounds excessive. Nevertheless, I don't endorse joking about killing dogs. It makes me squeamy. But I feel your pain, I hate noise.

seriously, i can't imagine why you're sitting here typing about these dogs - instead of going and knocking on your neighbour's door! you have to talk to this person - and if she is unreasonable, talk to your landlord. there are tenants' rights - and one of them is the right to live in security and peace. it never fails to amaze me the selfishness of some people - and someone who has two yappy dogs who are disturbing people (you can bet you aren't the only one ready to kill them) is queen of selfish.

talk. to. her.

tell her you will take action if she doesn't train them not to bark and scream. landlord, SPCA, even police.

i'm a dogowner, but your right to peace and civility in your home outweighs any dog's right to bark.
