Great thread, Louie!

I really wasn't expecting that many members would admit to liking certain Street Angel songs more than In Your Dreams songs either! Everyone bashes Street Angel so badly, but there are clearly some songs that people truly do enjoy.

Blue Denim vs. Secret Love = very, very close to being a tie!
Greta vs. For What It's Worth
Street Angel vs. In Your Dreams
Docklands vs. Wide Sargasso Sea = a close call! I love "Docklands" even though I know a lot of fans don't
Listen To The Rain vs. New Orleans
Destiny vs. Moonlight
Unconditional Love vs. Annabel Lee = another one that unlike a lot of fans, I do really like "Unconditional Love" though... but still no contest

Street Angel: 6

Not too surprisingly, TISL fared a little better than Street Angel against IYD for me... I was happy to get to vote for "Everybody Loves You", "Wide Sargasso Sea" & "Secret Love" this time!

I have a feeling this isn't going to go well for your album.

Blue Denim vs. Secret Love - this might be a draw, actually; I like Blue Denim, but SL is more interesting with a better vocal.

Greta vs. For What It's Worth - Greta is a fun song, but lyrically it's kind of a mess.

Street Angel vs. In Your Dreams - not really fair, since they're so different. But SA is probably the best song on that album.

Docklands vs. Wide Sargasso Sea - I don't mind Docklands, but there's really no contest here.

Listen To The Rain vs. New Orleans - again, no contest. LTTR is fun, but some of the lyrics are ghastly, and Stevie's vocal is terrible. New Orleans has some of her best lyrics, OTOH.

Destiny vs. Moonlight - Destiny is another I don't mind; it's kinda nice, even. But it's dull & boring compared to Moonlight, or any other song on IYD.

Unconditional Love vs. Annabel Lee - okay, there is nothing you can put up against UL that would make me choose it, except maybe a recording of Stevie passing gas, and even then I'd be reluctant. But really - the worst song from SA vs. the best song (arguably) for IYD? Really?

Love Is Like A River vs. Soldier's Angel - only b/c Soldier's Angel has such a heavy sentiment behind it.

Rose Garden vs. Everybody Loves You - in spite of the god-awful intro, ELY beats RG, which isn't really anything special.

Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind vs. Ghosts Are Gone - MLWCYM is another piece of crap that doesn't stand a chance against anything else you put up against it.

Just Like A Woman vs. You May Be The One - probably a draw as well. JLAW and the title track are the two best things about SA.

Kick It vs. Italian Summer - Kick It was always "meh" for me.

Jane vs. Cheaper Than Free - Jane is god-awful and I like CTF.

IYD - 10
SA - 3

The only Street Angel track that beats IYD for me is "Maybe Love", so:

Just like I did in the other (TISL vs. IYD) thread, I also ranked these by favorites, & the results are as follows. It’s very interesting to me that SA fares better than TISL when I do this. Suggests that while SA is an album of highs & lows, TISL & IYD are consistent albums, but with IYD as the superior one.

Destiny vs. Moonlight
Kick It vs. You May Be the One
Blue Denim vs. New Orleans
Love is Like a River vs. Italian Summer
Docklands vs. In Your Dreams
Rose Garden vs. Soldier’s Angel
Jane vs. Secret Love
Listen to the Rain vs. Wide Sargasso Sea
Just Like a Woman vs. For What it’s Worth
Street Angel vs. Everybody Loves You
Unconditional Love vs. Cheaper Than Free
Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind vs. Ghosts are Gone
Greta vs. Annabel Lee

SA: 4

IYD: 9
