Excellent example ... that album is really outstanding. It's really the first PSB album since "Very" that I haven't grown tired of in the months following its release.

I'm aware that she was involved, but I think we'd be remiss to not think that there are more contributing factors to this than just Stevie chumming up with Ryan Murphy. As she has even said herself, FM is greater than the sum of its parts. I seriously doubt it was a hard sell to the Glee machine to do songs from an album like "Rumours" for a show about the interpersonal relationships between a bunch of dramatic individuals. Again, I doubt it was a hard sell.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. If I'm reading the StreetPulse charts correctly, on the AC chart she is #2 behind Adele. She is #6 on the independent retail sales report. On the overall sales report she is #7. Not sure if those are final resting spots or not yet.

The chart that everyone cares about in the industry is the sales chart. That will not be finalized until later. Only 30something % of the reports are in now.

It's really a win-win for all when you think about it. Stevie's PR team probably implanted the Fleetwood Mac/Rumours show in the Glee creator's minds to coincide with Stevie's new album. I doubt Stevie herself had much to do with Glee deciding to do a Mac episode. But Jondalar is right... without Stevie promoting her first new album in 10 years, I doubt we'd be getting a Fleetwood Mac episode of Glee. Not that I watched the show or really give a flip. But in the end, Fleetwood Mac wins by getting Rumours back on the charts, Stevie wins by getting her name out there to coincide with her new release, and Glee wins by being able to use the perfect material for their show & get lots of attention while doing it.

hmm maybe people are too busy buying Rumours to get In Your Dreams yet. Stevie is almost competing with herself. Lets hope those people decide to get the new cd sometime soon!

It'd be pretty awesome if she hung on to #5

Hmmm....it makes you wonder if it was a marketing trick that may have backfired.
Or perhaps IYD will be a slow burn on the charts, similar to Raising Sand by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss. Time will tell I guess.

yeah you do wonder. all they needed to do was to run an ad for In Your Dreams during Glee somehow and i think that would have really helped. i do hope that this cd stays on the charts for a while. its so good that i hate for it to just disappear.

This list cannot be right. It's missing some key players in the top 10: most notably, the Fleet Foxes.

Well it's only accounting for 36% of total sales for far. Right now they are listing the Fleet Foxes at #20.

I'm just not understanding how JLo is charting above Stevie...Stevie's album charged out of the gate while JLo's had a very slow start and most of the songs on her record have been floating around for close to 2 years.

Interesting point concerning Krauss/Plant album....I still feel Stevie has to make as many television appearances as possible over the next three weeks to even keep the possibilities of a "slow burn".. Adele's album will continue to dominate the charts until Gaga's release in two weeks.
I don't think the marketing of FM will backfire...if stirring up nostalgic memories of Rumors to remind people to give Stevie's new album a listen then I'm all for it!!

Exactly, the list is wrong.

It's probably more probable that Howard and her management got her involved with Glee in the first place and now that FM and Stevie are under the same management roof (assuming that Azoff still manages FM), it's not surprising that a collaboration with Stevie led to an entire FM show.
