Bellinis at Ciprianis? That sort of thing.
Cute idea, but so many of us NY Stevie fans are in overdrive getting ready for NOTS on Friday - However Id be a meanie if I didnt at least mention the clothing shop "Gothic Renaissance" on 4th Avenue at 11 Street. This is definitely the "Stevie Style" HQ for NYC, and the manager Stitch is a huge Stevie fan.

I feel HORRIBLE for anyone who came to town for the Webster show, but the posters above got it right - there is so much to discover and enjoy here, so just make the most of it. And if you are still here on Friday, by all means come out and enjoy "The Night" with us

Hi-- My name is not Michelle, its Reebok and I don't live in Phoneix. I am not Suze Orman, although I have a higher net worth than she does. LOL. That being said, yes, I am pleased that by some twist of fate I did not lose money. I can afford to fly and attend shows.... I was referring to people who go into debt to go to a show. I just don't understand it.

Pneumonia? Yikes! That's some bad stuff. I hope Stevie's okay.

Well, it's fine to have such an opinion, but for some reason I think your comments kind of came across as a bit condescending and seemed to pour salt into the wounds of the many who traveled vast distances to attend the show in spite of financial limitations. The way I look at it, there are just some things in life that are essential experiences, never to be repeated again. And money should be the least of all impediments. Sure, it may seem foolish in the short term, but you do have those memories to savor long after you're back on your feet financially. I travel for shows and I can afford to do it comfortably. But I would never begrudge someone who is less fortunate from having the same experience.

Feel better Stevie!
This got me to thinking...is Stevie elderly? Isn't the term "elderly" reserved for people older than Stevie?

Stevie's Twitter feed just sent this:

'Today is STEVIE NICKS DAY - CD FINALLY OUT - Yipee'

and a link to the deluxe IYD on iTunes.

I'm slightly relieved by that. The 'radio silence' was starting to freak me out!

Stevie should take really good care of herself having pneumonia. I had it when I was 39 and I nearly died, spent a week in the ICU. And it took me 5 months to fully recover. Stay in bed, Stevie and hire a nurse.

I feel really sorry for all the people who spent so much to go see her. Try to make the best of it. NYC is the most exciting city I've ever visited.

I'm so bummed out about the show being cancelled that I'm having a hard time getting motivated at work. Listening to my copy of IYD is bittersweet. I had to eat the cost of the hotel but I can reuse my flight (only for Chicago to NYC) sometime during the next year. I hope she reschedules.

I am not "begrudging" anybody...I just don't understand. Perhaps they are in the situation of being "financially limited" because they make emotional decisions without doing a cost benefit analysis when making these type of financial decisions? It just seems like bad financial planning....for one to go so far out of their way and spend alot of money they do not have to see someone they don't even know. I understand spending money you do not have if a relative was on their death bed and you had to fly there to say goodbye. But not for an out of state concert that they can not afford....if working a second or third job for several months to pay for the experience is worth it to them, more power to them, it just doesn't make sense to me.

It's about living for NOW,and catching an experience as it happens. What fun is life when you plan everything and tell yourself 'no' all the time?

Bryan... I agree with you 100%...

Tomorrow night was going to be such a rare moment in time for Stevie and her fans to celebrate together and share such a special experience. This album is a HUGE milestone for Stevie. There is a great possibility an event like this may never have the opportunity to occur. You don't know what tomorrow will bring. Everyone who was going attend the show knows this. The Webster show/celebration being cancelled is not like a regular show being cancelled that you can just "catch the next city." This truly was going to be a "moment in time" for Stevie & for all of us who were going to be there.

Reebok...I'm not sure if you understand what the significance of the Webster show was to all of us who were going to be there. For people who lost money due to the cancellation, yes, it is definitely something to be frustrated with...unless you won the lottery or something, who really CAN afford to plan an entire trip for nothing? But please be considerate of what the bigger picture is to the people who went out of their way for this show because Stevie and her music has touched their lives that deeply and because they knew how priceless tomorrow night was going to be.

Very well put, this is why people put out the buck they may not of had to begin with, it was probally going to be a very rare performance!

Jeez, I feel like I need to defend myself. I think I was the one who said I was spending money I didn't have to see this show.

So... a little back story. I have yet to be able to see Stevie live. I almost got to in 2009 when FM came to Nashville, but the show fell on my summer break and I ended up going home to Chicago. When I first heard about the Webster show and how special it was going to be, it got my wheels turning. Then I saw that the show was going to be on my birthday. I felt like it was fate telling me I had to be there. My family is huge on celebrating birthdays and making them amazing. So, my mom agreed to buy my ticket to the show and also decided to accompany me on the trip so she could spend my birthday with me (Last year I had to spend my birthday alone thanks to all the floods in Nashville). I'm also an only child so this factors into it as well.

Since I graduated, I have not been able to find a job in my industry (Music Business). Because I have no income coming in, that is why I was technically spending money I don't have on this trip. And money that was spent were my tiny bit of savings that were allocated for expenses. Yes, it was crazy to spend that money when I should be saving every penny. I did lose half of the money I spent on the hotel since they wouldn't refund the first night (about $220). All the money on airfare is now on an airline credit, so technically it's gone until I use it. The show tickets will be refunded. I also traveled from Nashville to Chicago last week because it was cheaper to fly from Chicago to NYC than it was to fly from Nash to NYC. I flew out a little bit early to visit my hometown. I'm currently now stuck in Chicago until Monday since the NYC trip is now off. So, there's the cost of my trip from Nash to Chicago to factor in as well. Lots of expense, but it is only money. Life goes on. As of now I can still afford to buy food, so life is good. It's all about the experience and memories in life. Some of my greatest memories are from last minute decisions that I couldn't really afford, but did it anyway.

I'm a huge believer in what's meant to be will be, and believe that everything is up to fate. So, I'm hoping something good will at least come out of this. I had to beg a company to move a job interview until next week and so far they agreed. Maybe that factors into this somehow? I don't know yet.

Sorry for the novel. But I just wanted to give a back story into why I did what I did.

ok.....thanks everyone for the explanations. I wasn't trying to be snarky or inconsiderate by asking why people would spend a lot of money they do not have...really...I was just trying to understand. To be honest, your explainations make no sense to me....it sounds irrational to me....I would understand if Stevie called you up and asked you to fly into LAX, come to her house for a dinner and hang out with her....THAT is a once in a lifetime experience...but a concert in a small venue similar to the house of blues show in 99? Sorry folks...I am at a loss on this one.
