I'm sorry for your loss. I can relate to certain situations you talk about and understand how hard it must be for you. If you ever feel like talking to a dumb child or just venting, I'm only a PM away *hugs*

Crunches & ab work are fine, but you won't really see results til you get rid of the flab.

Yeah, good plan. I'll up the cardio. In terms of diet, that's pretty much what I'm doing but I need to be stricter about it.

I'm sorry. A similar thing happened to my best friend's dad-- he dropped dead at 50 without any notice. I hope your grandma is able to process it in the best way possible.

JTIS I was watching a tv series called Wiseguy, the episodes with Debbie Harry in it specifically and I don't know why as many times as I've watched them before I didn't notice Mick was in one of the episodes.

Thanks everyone--it's definitely appreciated. I'm actually doing fine with it; more concerned for my mum and grandmother than anything else.
It doesn't help that this has reignited a decades-long pissing war between my grandparents. They had a messy divorce 40 years ago and, not content to let sleeping dogs lie, they spent decades suing each other and refusing to inhabit the same room. Grandma is now refusing to attend any service he is at.
She has valid reasons for her anger and I wouldn't expect her to be rational right now, but it seems a shame that both of his parents won't be at the funeral.

Such an incredible waste for anyone to nurse an anger for decades. What does that accomplish? She's spent most of her life actively hating the father of her two children.

What is a good cardio workout, time wise? I have just started back in the gym and I get on the elliptical for 25 minutes. I try to average about a level 6-8. Every now and then I throw in a 12 for one minute. I'm not noticing any changes, though i did just start back and I haven't altered my eating habits AT ALL (yet).

That is so awful. You sound like you have a lot of insight and are breaking a cycle of anger and dysfunction. You are in my thoughts as well.

It's whatever you'll actually do. I personally need at least 45 minutes on the eliptical 4-5 days a week if I'm trying to get back into shape; 30 min 4-5 days a week to maintain. Work yourself up though - you just started back!
