Mike, I think that what you're doing is great!

For one what kind of ridiculous people would keep such a treasure trove from others? It's practically despicable. IMO, NO ONE has any right to hoard them and even worse duplicate/sell them. We don't even know what sort of quality these tapes are in, they could be in the same basket as many of the Stevie demos that are already in circulation - you know the ones where it's sounds like someone's eating a sandwich on top of the recording -

I say if they don't want to share, Then make them pay like there's no tomorrow!

Besides I'm sure that many people would be VERY willing to chip in for treasures like these! There are many many fans on this site. Imagine if 100 people chip in $10 or $20 that might not seem like much. But as a collective we could really achieve something!

So Mike if you do win, I would be more than happy to contirbute for such rare and incredible finds!

Was just checking out the auction... and if I'm not mistaken, (unless I'm looking in a different place), it doesn't say "8:50", it says "3:50" which would make more sense for a "single edit".

On my tiny iPhone screen, it looked like an 8! And admittedly that's one sloppy-ass 3.

That makes it even better! Should I add another $150 to my "bid"? These Hoarders deserve it.

Go with the flow Mike! as long they don't stop bidding - that might be a bit of a disaster

LOL... yes, a very understandable mis-read. Have any of you ever seen Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo? I was a Herbie fanatic when I was little and there's a scene (if memory serves) near the beginning where Bernard Fox (as a jewel thief) is trying to read a code from a notepad to turn off a detection beam, but he can't tell whether it's a "0" or a "9" and gets all flustered, complaining about how people write sloppily... very funny, and I always think of that scene when I encounter illegibility.

When you were little, I thought Lindsay Lohan was in the Herbie movies?

Hey, I've been waaaaaayyyyyyyyy too paranoid tonight. Again, it's my past burning by that hoarding person I've previously mentioned (I just cleaned up what I originally wrote! ). So, what will be, will be, right, Doris?

If anyone wants me to go in with them on any of the other tapes, just PM me, but know I will want to share them with everyone ~ for the Love of Stevie!

Just let me know, and I'll fly open the Scrooge McDuck Vaults!!!!!

But I'm over the paranoia, and ready for more Stevie Enjoyment!!!

LOL... I wish I were THAT young! But that was NOT a real Herbie movie... it depresses me to think of the thousands of children that will grow up only knowing Herbie from that movie. Although I am ashamed to admit as a 23 year old guy, I went and saw that movie in the theater.

That sounds like me to a tee. Remember, I'm the one who started the "laser vision correction" thread. One more week until I drop the "Magoo" suffix from my surname.

A good night's sleep has me not worrying about this stuff anymore. Hopefully, all the winners will share with the Stevie Fan Community. If not, oh well. I'm not involved in hiking up the prices anymore.

One final note, to put some perspective on all this:

The 1987 "Silent Night" demo that sold on eBay two years ago for hundreds of $$ has NEVER circulated. I hope that doesn't happen to these Rock A Little tapes as well.

Default As a rule..

I never bid on items by a seller with below 99.8% feedback..there will inevitably be problems.
