Holidayroad,

Obviously, you want to do what you can to maintain peaceful relations with a fellow fan. That's understandable. So, if you want to avoid posting certain pictures out of friendship, that's great. But there are no rights holder stakes involved here.

There's no way of knowing how that picture found its way to the internet. Obviously, someone who holds the copyright can enforce it (i.e. Warner Bros., Neal Preston, etc.) Otherwise, if a fan thinks they have a rare photo and they want to maintain its exclusivity, the only way to do that is not to publish it on the web or pass it around in the first place.

A couple of years ago I paid $900 for about 5 German photos which I thought were rare. Turns out they weren't, really. Even if they had been, once I saw them for sale and I bought them, then I knew that anyone else could purchase them too. So, when I saw others with the same picture, I had no reason to think they stole them from me.

I understand your being concerned about having possibly offended someone else, but don't worry about the propriety of what you did in any other respect.

It doesn't surprise me that Holidayroad would be concerned because she is just the kindest person - she never has a bad word about anybody.

Thank you for letting me know this, Michele. I appreciate it. I have asked Jackie to let me know if there are any specific pictures she either did not want me to post/or take down if I have already posted. This way, I know that I have done the right thing, as far as she is concerned.
As for the future, anything I post is found online or pictures I already had. I have no way of knowing if they belong to anyone else unless their name is on the picture.
To anyone who does not want a picture reposted, please put this information on your picture. If someone finds it in a website images search, they do not see your website and don't know if you have said you don't want something re-posted.
I agree that a picture rightfully belongs to the person who took the picture. I also understand that someone would not want to pay a lot of money for a picture and then see it passed around. Still, if it is posted anywhere online, it can turn up in searches. Anyone with pictures they don't want re-posted should please keep this in mind.
