Why let one person worry you into that? So what if they bought a COPY of it? The fact is, they didn't take the picture/film the video. That should be the end of it, if anybody actually cares a jot about copyright law.

I wonder, if going by their logic, I could take a picture of a Michaelangelo Fresco and take half the credit for it because I took a picture of the man's work.

Gah. Some people really do know how to get their knickers in a twist about things that are ultimately irrelevant. Post pictures if you want to post the pictures. We all appreciate them and love you for the effort.

I really don't want to. I do this for everyone here that appreciates it. The bad thing is that the person who is upset about this picture is another Lindsey fan that I respect greatly. I would never purposely do anything wrong to her.

By the way, I am 10,000 % positive that this MEGA RARE, unpublished photo was copied via one of my videos, which so happens to be my most viewed one. Here is the link to it above. The photo is at 57 seconds.

You know I guess that I'm different than everyone else then. If I want a photo, video, etc... from someone, I ask them for it. I just don't take it without asking. That goes with anything in life. At least that was the way I was brought up.

I have been a HUGE fan of Lindsey's since I was 9 years old (1977) and this photo is one of my cherished possesions. It REALLY REALLY REALLY upsets me to see this floating around on the web now. Like I said before, I'm an idiot for not adding my user name to all of my videos to begin with. If so, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I think the person who doesn't get it is you. You cannot claim any credit for it and if you didn't want people to use it, the only solution is DON'T POST IT. What's done is done, don't go getting angry about it.

I am a photographer and if someone bought an original of one of my prints (it wouldn't happen though, because I'm not stupid enough to sell originals) then tried to take credit for it, I'd be filing a lawsuit.

To watermark a photo that is not your property is ILLEGAL. It's COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT. If you didn't press the shutter it is not your photograph. I don't care if you payed a quarter of a million dollars for the print. Not to mention it's downright rude.

I don't care if you were born on the same hospital ward as Peter Green, you don't deal with things like this in this manner. You could have PM'd holidayroad and asked her nicely to take the picture down but you didn't and these are the results. You've come in, throwing your weight around and not listened to Silver Springs (which makes me seething angry in istelf) and just got everyone's back up while the photo is still there to see. Holiday road got it from that site and therefore she shouldn't have to remove it. This isn't "Lindsey photos according to who's been a fan since 1977". I've kept my mouth shut for a long time on this matter but by god this just took the biscuit.

Georgie is absolutely right. ^ Unless you were behind that camera lens taking the photo you have no say on what happens with it whether you bought a print of it or not. The photographer holds the rights to it, and considering you put the photo in your YouTube video and you're having a ****fest over it to other people who didn't even use "your" photo to begin with, you should be more worried about whether or not Sam would have a problem with you using it in that manner. Why should anyone credit YOU because you used HIS photo in your video? Doesn't make a bit of sense. It'd be one thing if you actually took the photo, but............

Also, it is indeed illegal to put your watermarks over someone else's photo as well as try to claim them as your own. It's the same with photo scans people post a lot from books they own, photos they bought (just like you) or whatnot, granted the scans may technically be yours, but the photo that you are scanning ISN'T.

Put photos in your video that you took YOURSELF, have someone take one and post it all over the place, then come back and argue your point. At least then it would be actually valid.

I had to remove a couple of other posts because I was confused about which picture was in question. I thought it was the one I posted yesterday. Instead, it was a black and white pic I posted along with 3 other black and white photos not long ago. I spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out where I found the photo. I figured out that I found it during a Google Images search. If you type in
lindsey buckingham go your own way
the photo shows up on 'Page 3'. It is associated with a website called bigsong.net which has links to youtube videos.

It isn't your fault if you did a search via a general engine. That's how I find so many pics I post. I never mean for a moment to infringe on someone's personal property, but this can't always be avoided. I understand completely her upset, but you also didn't really do anything wrong.

I've scanned and screencapped many Lindsey related things to share with you all on the Ledge. Perhaps they weren't all vintage or very expensive, but it was time-consuming. I don't care a lick if people take them because, hey, we're all Lindsey fans. This is a huge forum- definitely the largest- of LB admirers and I feel like giving as much as I receive. I don't own him after all.

But please keep posting your pics! You have to know it's too enjoyable for us all. I try but I can't come close to your savvy. I am very sorry the wonderful LB fan who makes great Lindsey vids got upset, but these things happen. Don't stop.

I do want everyone to know that Jackie wrote a very kind apology to me and we have worked out the issue. I guess sometimes it's hard to not be sensetive about the things that mean a lot to us. I know Lindsey means a great deal to her.
