Thank you. And this is not a question of grammar, this is a question of theology. Stevie Nicks is a cliffdweller from the old school.

It took me a long time to come to this assumption, but I think Rock A Little is one of Stevie's best albums... and it's EASILY her most dated and overproduced work. TISL dated pretty quickly, but I'd argue it's still a very good album as well. I think it's pretty cool Stevie's in her 60s, and has no qualms going for this very youthful production style we hear on Secret Love. Good for her!

The production is boring. The orchestration is dull. It sounds like an Idol contestant's first single. But: The lyrics are wise. And her voice exudes experience.

." I think TISL is timeless and is perhaps the most progressive album she has ever produced. I really can't think of one song on it that sounds like it couldn't have been released today. |

I love the Trouble In Shangri-La album, and don't think the production is dated at all. What's wrong with me??????

And "Rock A Little" is the MOST dated of all. I think TISL sounds great. It would've sounded better and more cohesive with only one producer, but all in all it's a great album, one of her best I would say.

I love the Wild Heart, but it was dated 3 years after it's release. I think it's the most dated. Unfortunately, it's one of her besst albums though.

The thing that bothers me most about the song is this: But you need some rest My darling, it's best "But we've already passed it," I cried Ooh, wee, listen to me My secret love secretly dies ****** Passed what? A test? Well, it seems obvious that word is missing throughout the whole song. Also, would it have made more sense to say something like: But, you say "This test My darling is best" "But, we've already passed it. I've tried." "Ooh wee listen to me", my secret love secretly cried Eh. It's Stevie, I'll get over it. I still think it sounds great. ![]() |

I actually really like the production of this song. The end (right before the drop out on the "single" version) reminds me a bit of early U2.
And little things make me smile, like the last half of the 2nd verse when she starts with "I am not asking salvation..." and in the background you hear an acoustic guitar strumming one chord over and over again, kind of helps build up the song a bit and makes it hopeful (I don't know anyway else to describe it, but that's just what I feel when I hear it). Also the electric piano part during "..still we're already paying the price..." that hearkens back to the original demo. It's definitely not boring to me. ![]() |
