Does it remind anyone of 'My Heart'? To me, it sounds like they both could be on the same album.

Just giving the YouTube version a listen....sounds great! Kind of an odd choice for a lead single, but it's also possible that the market is just being tested, and that an alternate choice might come forth.

the first 5-6 seconds ...it does. but after that its all its own

Yeah, it's definitely more pop/rock than that snippet suggests. Love what they did with the demo, which had potential but was so-so, IMO. A lot of the songs on TISL sound kinda "muddy" compared to this.

But back to the positive - I know the cold ending seems abrupt, but I like it. I think it's dramatic.

Having just (finally!) heard it myself I couldn't have said it better. I'm so impressed!

I'm in love with so many bits and pieces of this song ... especially the double "secretly, secretly died" at the end ... it just rounds it off so perfectly.
Does she sing "my secret loves" (plural) at the very end, actually?
Also, the breathiness on "paying the price" after the salvation verse -- not something we often hear from Stevie, but I love it to bits.

This song has a little of 10CC I'm not in love at the end, it also reminds me of Sentimental lady, but it is different and fresh sounding. A fresh sounding, upbeat song with a dramatic sad twist. Very unique. I really think this might do it for her.
