In one of the MTV interviews in 1991, she stated that she was unhappy, she felt 'trapped' by the confines of the 'male-oriented music industry' and on top of all that, she was killing herself with drugs. Maybe it's just me, but yeah...there is something bittersweet about this era. The performances were incredible, but there are a little difficult to watch in hindsight.

I don't think you can go rely a 1991 interview. And Stevie lies in interviews anyway. She was terribly unhappy with having to include SIAB in Timespace, and that's not exactly coming through loud and clear in this 1991 clip.

I find her post-Klonopin interviews to be some of her better ones, because she displays clarity and seems to be able to put all the experiences into perspective. She doesn't cry as much about her 'unhappiness' as a beautiful, wealthy decadent rock princess in the 70's and 80's these days, if at all. If there is anything that she seems to be unhappy about, it's that she can't remember the decade when she was in her forties and that she can't permanently shake those 30 pounds that comes and goes since then.
