I thought this too, as if the crowd should be so grateful that she is gracing them with her presence singing this song for the first and last time ever. The fame could be getting to her head? Still great cover in the aspect of performance alone. I do however think they could have came up with a superb different arrangement to make it that much more special.

Well.. I don't think so.
It hasn't received worldwide attention and no one's talking about it anymore except on here really..

Nope. But seeing as I did say 'worldwide'.. and I live in a different part of the world to the UK, I haven't been hearing about it. And I spend a lot of time browsing entertainment websites & blogs.

Everybody needs a copy of Lungs at least! before they can pass judgement on this exceptionally talented girl.
She is a huge cult icon in Britain (Europe), Australia and NZ (thats international).. That crowd was there too see her.. The US isn't everything.. There's literally a whole other world in these places as far as music and TV.. Things like The Mighty Boosh, Neighbours, Florence + The Machine, Evermore and so on..

Not too mention here chart hits here at least in Oz - Dog Days, Drumming Song and You Got The Love (which there is an awesome live track with Dizzee Rascal at the Brit Music Awards I think?)

She gets a lot of airplay here in Holland, and I bought her album here a year ago.
It might not really be worldwide yet but she's getting there and she deserves it.

Agreed! I haven't been so into an album since I bought Bella Donna 5 years ago.

Florence and her band are fantastic.. The power in her voice is phenomenal, especially live. I was in smack bang in the middle of the crowd when they performed The Chain and everyone was loving it

Also, I agree it was a great moment in pop history But that's purely due to my love of FM and Florence. if I hadn't been there to see it happen I would have kicked myself forever after!

I've watched the videos. She's an intriguing artist. Is she huge in the UK and Europe? I've never heard of her here in the states; is she in the market here at all?

Still, it's nice to see that Bob Welch's daughter is making a name for herself!

Her name sounds very similar to Lawrence Welk.

I thought this to. And I REALLY enjoy Florence and the Machine, my whole family does. it was just a bit much INSISTING that it would never be played again. Especially since "the chain" was played on the BBC for so many years, it is one of there most recognizable songs in the UK. It would delight fans for her to play it regularly im sure, BUT NO. JUST-ONE-TIME. EVER. ......FOREVER. and then after that. It was a great moment. but we did not need to be told that it was just before it happened is all.
