But you get that at the regular venues too. When I saw Stevie in '01 on the TISL tour, there were a group of people sitting in the reserved corporate seats who sat and talked to each the for entire first half of the concert. They looked at the stage briefly when Stevie walked out and then ignored her until it was almost over. I've seen many people at concerts (at all different venues) who seemed to have no interest whatsoever in the concert. I always wonder WHY they are there in the first place. So it happens everywhere.

WOW! Those are way higher than I was expecting! Foxwoods is a theater so really any seat is good. The one time I went I had second row seats (that's what popped up when I went online). I go again in July to see Heart there and I have first row in the top tier. By the way the Heart tickets were only $35

Wow,again here,why so high.I just came off Foxwoods MGM website to check whats happening,Shes not listed yet.also I checked out to see how to order tickets from them,will I have better luck ordering them direct from the boxoffice or go to the boxoffice then getting them online? I remember in 2007 when Stevie was at the Borgata in Atlantic City I got my crappy tickets from the online site,then when I was at the Borgata the next day I had a chance to chat with a ticket agent to find out how to get better seats next time.She said call the boxoffice ,heck with the internet.she said.
I have to call Foxwoods in the next few days to see how they operate.

It very well may be different in Canada, but here in the East there's no stigma about acts currently bigger than Fleetwood Mac or Stevie playing casinos. The Mohegan Sun, since 2007, has been Connecticut's TOP concert venue, any touring band that's coming through Connecticut who can sell enough WILL play the Sun, and they're paid a fortune. It's a 10,000 seater, though sometimes it 'sells out' at 8,000, or less, depending how it's all manipulated.
The Foxwoods concert halls are much smaller, about 4000 seats at the newer MGM Grand hall in the quite small MGM Grand recent addition at Foxwoods.
It's probably wise for Stevie to be playing the the MGM Grand rather than the Mohegan Sun Arena, because Stevie has played at The Sun VERY often solo and with Fleetwood Mac. I am a tad surprised the Mohegan Sun didn't pair her with a strong opening act and book here, there. Maybe they knew better, or didn't want to meet her guarantee. She should do really well at the MGM Grand, with it being half the size, or less, of the Mohegan Sun Arena.
Why are tickets 'so high' someone asked-- sounds like Stevie still has her way HIGH guarantee, and the MGM Grand is just passing it along to the consumer, what else.
Diana Ross plays the MGM Grand, next month, on the second night of her 20 date (or so) tour, and tickets are quite lower priced than what I just saw quoted here for Stevie, and Diana sold out the MGM Grand here in CT last year. I don't know if Stevie will sell-out at the prices someone here quoted, but she may.
Yet, Diana's opening night in Boston is quite pricey. Her Radio City date is 'Radio City Hall-priced'- not cheap. Hard to remember, or believe, but Diana is only four years older than Stevie. They're both gals in their 60s and it won't surprise me at all if several of the venues where Diana's playing will see Stevie there, as well, not just the MGM Grand. Could it be we might see a Stevie date at Radio City Music Hall instead of the usual Jones Beach? I don't know. Could she sell well there? Can Diana? Isn't it a huge venue??
Oh, for anyone a fan of yet another 'diva', a friend who has an older pal (in his mid 50s) sent me an email with the guy's picture taken with Cher at Elijah Blue's art exhibit opening in LA about a month ago- and Cher told the guy personally that she plans to tour next year... After she finishes up her 3 year Ceasars Vegas $65 million deal. And after 'Burlesque' opens this November.
So, be it one-time 'queen of rock and roll', 'queen of Motown' or Cher, 'the old girls' keep on working. "I'll take you to see the naked old bitch" Cher said at her Ceasar's opening this month, saying that after she made her entrance, still singing the same U2 song as her opener-- (she flies, now, over the audience to begin the show) and she said she noticed the women with men seemed a lot more excited than the guys, and Cher said it was 'because these tickets cost sooo much money', "and the guys paying were like, 'yeah, yeah', I'll take you to see the naked old bitch!" (Her 9 minute monologue is on YouTube).
I wonder if Stevie had told the Ceasar's bosses that SHE would fly during her show, she might have gotten that gig she wanted! As many here know, Stevie very much wanted a slot in Celine's Ceasar's theater when Celine left a few years ago. Celine was replaced with rotating Bette Midler, Elton John, and Cher. Stevie didn't get the gig, Bette has vacated, Elton's gone or will be soon, and last I heard, Celine herself will be returning when Cher finishes up sometime late this year or in early 2011, I forget which.
Still, I know, we're talking about STEVIE NICKS, and it may be depressing, for some, that the 'reigning queen of rock' (28 years ago!) is being mentioned (but, only by me, really!) alongside of Diana, Cher, and Bette, but they're all in the same boat now, age wise.
I'm just glad Stevie isn't really struggling for better gigs in the way that Deb, Pat, and Heart seem to be.

I'm surprised she's not there as well. She was there with Don Henley, then she played it twice on the "Crystal Visions" tour, then twice again last year with Fleetwood Mac. Seemed like she had a pretty good thing going with them.

Maybe therein lies the answer- she's played there too many times to conceivably play the arena again so soon (especially with nothing to promote).

Or, maybe Foxwoods just paid her more money. They've ramped up efforts to be more competitive with Mohegan Sun- it wouldn't surprise me.

Ever since the MGM opened they been pulling big names away from The Mohegan Sun,it seems like every day I hear a MGM Foxwoods promo on the radio and a few Mohegan Sun ads weekly on the radio.
I hope the will get the big chisel and hammer and start chopping down these ticket prices before they put them on sale.

i was surprised to hear stevie was going to the mgm grand at foxwoods usually she has and loves the mohegan sun maybe there was date issue with another performer at mohegan sun not sure how many seats it holds my guess would be 5,000 seats wondering if she will do another night there if it sells out quick. looking forward to seein Stevie and Heart and maybe going to see Adam Lambert there too i do have tickets for heart.

Of course Stevie's last minute on the fly bookings probably clash with other artists dates at Mohegan like said.probably the same scenario down in Atlantic City.Other artists probably normally book a year ahead.Also ,I'm very surprised she has not book Las Vegas yet.

One question.Also I would like to add,Is it really worth it for Stevie to track the band together,plus having her road crew to Test equipment,pack up the trucks and drive across this great country to here in Connecticut and Atlantic City for two shows.At this point no.but I hope she has more stops planned to make it worth the trip.Or she loves us over here, and she dont care about the costs.Anyway I cant wait.
