I think it's one thing to work quickly. But it's another thing to be clueless about promotion. June is only two months away, and there hasn't been even the slightest peep about a new album. Other June releases, like those from Christina Aguilera and Sarah McLaughlin, have been talked about for months now. And the lead single from Christina's album has already been leaked. Maybe they're going with a renegade marketing approach- silence is golden?
yeah true. im just hoping someday she will blow us all away and pull out songs to try that have never been done.

im not saying she will for sure, im just saying that it is possible.
since when does Stevie get proper marketing or promotion anyway???

I would love for Stevie to do an acoustic concert, and bring the girls over and just sing, sing, sing, a bunch of random songs. Stevie and her backup girls sound incredible, their harmonies are amazing, it would be cool for that to be the focus for a change. Some songs from BellaDonna and WildHeart would be great, I love when she sings covers. Yes I know we want new things too, but I think a toned down, different sequenced set would totally breathe some fresh air into a show. Anyway, that's my two cents. I will go Stevie no matter what she does, so it really doesn't matter much anyway. Any way she chooses to do her thang is fine with me, and I'm still grateful, and thankful for the opportunity to see her at all.

Does anyone remember that rather long interview from Stevie near the beginning of the Unleashed tour when she talked about wanting to tour less and wanting to drastically change her set specifically metioning Wild Heart and "Kind of Woman that'll haunt you" and wanting to do an accoustic set sgain.

This is also the same interview tho where she talks about how incredible the upcomming Rumours release would be that never came to be.

Guys. She's playing her usual handful of solo summer shows at the usual casinos/random venues dumb enough to pay her exorbitant g'tee to bank her million or so for a little enchanted walking-around-money.

This is the clearly the standard operating procedure for the past 5-7 years where there's no FM activity- she's telegraphed her intent quite clearly, from the venues she plays to the songs she sings. So, accordingly, don't get too excited.

Very good point.

I am sure though that if the creative energy was there and Stevie already had the poems/demos done to a point Dave could work his magic. Why not? A lot of recording and mixing is done now on the computer, which would speed up the process. Less overproducing and more raw rock and roll would be awesome.

I heard the same info this morning, as it spread like wildfire.. I had a friend pass it on to me, that it was a person close to Liz saying that she came out with the info! Even tho Caitlin did get that info from Dave, to me, it means nothing.. Dave isn't Stevie's management, and yes, even tho he did produce her cd, he's not in a position to announce any release dates, as that's strictly up to her management. Thats where Liz comes in. I'm still going with it being a June release, with the first gig being played at the Taj Mahal for a tour, on August 27th. Just my thoughts.. Could be wrong, but we'll see..

I would like to be hopeful, but July or August seem more likely to me. It seems a bit strange that we would have no info two months prior to its release and she wouldn't start touring for it until two months after it's release. Besides, if Stevie's management is saying June, we know that we will be lucky to get October. They always have to push things back after announcing specific dates.

Other than a vague internet rumor and the indeterminate nature/context of her collaboration with Dave Stewart, is there anything that elevates this belief beyond simple wishful thinking? You seem rather confident.

"Vague Internet rumour" is a far different thing than being one source away from Liz Rosenberg. The person that Liz told this to told me. Not vague at all.

I suspect this is the same source that spread the rumor last year that a new Fleetwood Mac album was already half in the can.

It IS possible that there is a new album coming this year. It's been 9 years since her last album of new stuff. So perhaps she's been recording here and there over the past nine years and the album will have recorded material that dates back to 2001. The most recent track could be the Dave Stewart thing???
