I remember justifying listening to Tusk while studying for my geometry exams by incorporating the geometry into the songs from Tusk. "What Makes You Think You're an Equilateral Triangle" was a fave. Also recall the lyric "said Sara! You're a parallelogram!" Yeah.

But seriously...that album is a work of art. I'm all for papers on the greatness of an artist or a work of art. It's SO much more compelling when you believe it yourself, though you have to word it in a way that doesn't sound completely biased.

If I was writing a paper now I would totally choose LB's Out of the Cradle as best album ever. And I would make sure to toot his horn.
I look forward to my birthday in a few months when my Dad'll buy me all of Lennon's albums - a wonderful 21st birthday present! But until then I'll have to omit them from any favourites lists I might create, as I sadly haven't heard any of them (I only own the compilation Lennon Legend).
Out of curiosity, are you a Nutopian citizen? (http://www.joinnutopia.com/)

You'll fall in love with him all over again...I think people sometimes forget that John was simply an extraordinary, brilliant songwriter. Sometimes we all get caught up in the hype and the stories and the image, but strip it all away and you have a very simple man with many strong convictions and flaws- and he could make all of that into incredible music.

The "Lennon Anthology" is one of the most beautiful collections of music I have ever heard in my life.

No, . Not a citizen... Thanks for the link!

Epic

I wrote an article on Stevie for a school magazine, and talked about her a lot in an English essay on song lyrics. I think teachers like to see enthusiasm

Btw, I don't think this is a pointless thread. I have those "epiphanies" all the time about a particular artist or song (or line in a song!) and it's great to share them!

Yeah, that happened to me when I called to buy tickets to one of Lindsey's Vegas shows. The sales rep at the hotel box office was calling him "her."

Didn't mean to dig up this old thread, but I've had some FM epiphanies. Recently, in my struggles to pass precalc (along with the rest of the class), I realized my experience sounded a lot like the lyrics to I'm So Afraid, so I posted the Rosebud version of it on my Facebook just yesterday (those of you that are friends with me on FB, such as golddustdrummer, saw it).

I never wrote any papers on FM, but knowing me, it'd probably be a debate over whether or not I prefer Rumours or Tusk Lindsey more lol. Or maybe it'd be why I think Tusk is so awesome.

i would love for a full-fledged Ledge debate on Rumours vs. Tusk

ultimately, i would have to be on the Team Tusk, but it would not be an easy choice.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

I'm a bit of a newbie truefaith, so can you start it on the Rumours board? Please? I'll definitely take part in it.

And I'll be honest: it's a tough decision for me too, like trying to pick between Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall, or IV and Physical Graffiti, or Abbey Road and the White Album (sorry, had to throw out classic vs. double album debates), and depending on my mood, I'll be in either camp.
