what were the years that she gained all her weight?
I was under the impression that it was 89.
Because she looked good during the Tango era right?

Wish I still had that catalog with all the outfits that were up for auction. They were showcasing Fleetwood Mac so they had more merchandise of theirs than normal. I thought her brother Chris must have gone through one of her closets. Most of the outfits were from the Tango, OSOTM and Mask era tours. There were a few WH tops and some personal wardrobe items from the Rumours era. RRHOF has a few of her outfits from WH and Rumours eras. A few of those outfits ended up on Christie's auction site after It's Only Rock and Roll auction ended, including this one you and I drool over. Sigh.... nice to meet another Stevie Stage Wardrobe Adorer.

I'd say if she ever did let any of her costumes go, she's most likely had more than one of the same outfit made. Stevie likes to hold onto all her beautiful clothes and I don't see her ever getting rid of such a beautiful ensemble as that. Yes I love her clothes

Summer 1985. I saw the Mulholland Tomorrow performance on Sept. 17, & Stevie was already hefty-hefty.

Her weight yo-yo'd in the following years: She was flabby on the 1986 tour, slimmed down again somewhat for 1987 Fleetwood Mac videos & start of 1987 tour, flabby again for end of 1987 tour, etc.

It's been a weight roller-coaster for Stevie since then, as it is for so many people once they hit middle age.

Interestingly, her parents appeared to be very slim in photos. Her brother too. So I wonder where Stevie gets it from?

good point. It always surprised me when I saw actual Stevie wardrobe items being auctioned. I couldn't help but wonder if she let these items go voluntairly because, as you metioned, she does like to hold on to her clothes, even if she doesn't wear them any long (which is, at this point, most of her stage wardrobe!

I wonder if her assistants took her backstage, hosed her down and fluffed her hair back up, gave her a quick toot and pushed her back out on stage. "Stevie, they are going to give you a tranquilized white pigeon. Hold out your hands and DON'T DROP IT."
LOL!!!!! I just pictured that whole scene in my mind and yeah, that's probably exactly what happened!!

Seriously, though...I've wondered about the whole "dove" scene because she seem and look quite coherent and lovely. Her demeanor and appearance would hardly suggest all those silly in studio close ups be done. Like Stevie, I guess this will always be a mystery...

She looked *slightly* bigger to me sometimes in 1983, especially @ the US Fest. Mostly her arms.

Alison Moyet once told me that several people came up to her in the mid-late 80's saying they almost (or actually) confused her for Stevie... and she had no idea whether to be flattered or horrified. I think that pretty much sums it up.

I love Alison Moyet. Is she doing anything musically?

She should have been flattered! At her heaviest Stevie was light years away from Alison in the looks dept. Alison looks like a guy. And not a very good looking one at that.
