Yes, that's right. The Cd was released today in Germany and I was in the near of a record store and listened into the Cd. No. 6 is a song by Leon Russell and HAEWAFY is not on the Cd. I've searched for a Cdsingle or special edition but nothing yet.

BUMMER!!!!

I was really looking forward to this, then I forgot about it, but the other day my friend was telling me that it's a surprisingly good CD and that he hopes she does more covers on the next one... and that jogged my memory to check it out this morning to see if there was a Stevie cover. Of course, my friend probably would have told me if there had been a Stevie cover, but sometimes he likes to surprise me. Bummer!

Maybe if there's an expanded re-release of it, like they often seem to do now-a-days, we'll see it included.

The situation is quite the opposite. It's Whitney's career that needs a shot in the arm, since she has been so off the map. Stevie has never been off the map. She's in total control of her recording career. Unfortunately, her productivity level has dropped significantly in recent years. She needs a shot of inspiration.

Anyone had any luck digging this song up? Today on XM they played a "never before released" version of her cover of Steve Winwood's Higher Love. It was pretty good. After some research it turns out it WAS released but on a Japan CD.

If I may callously hijack this thread... this morning, as I was getting my coffee, this song came on and I immediately had the most transcendent moment of nostalgia. Oh, 1980, how I loved thee...

I heard that a few weeks ago on XM it was pretty good. Hopefully we find Whitney's cover of HAEWA.

They've been playing the crap out of it. I've heard it so much I was convinced it was something she had released eons ago and that I had just forgotten she did it before Winwood's version.

One of my friends is Clive Davis's personal assistant, I asked him about Has Anyone recently. He said they are planning a release of a ton of unreleased Whitney tracks as well as different versions of some of her biggest hits. Maybe it will turn up on that release?

I think they paid Michael Jackson's family $250 million to release 10 albums of his posthumously. I have no doubt that everything in Whitney's vaults will eventually be released in the years to come.

Sadly none of those Jackson's posthumously released albums was worthwhile but I do hope that it will be different in Whitney's case. I read somewhere that before her death she'd completed a soundtrack for her upcoming movie. And we all know that Whitney was always at her best while recording music for soundtrack albums And what's most important, I hope that someday they release her version of "Has Anyone Ever Written Anyting For You". Considering that she recorded this song with intention to put it on her latest studio release "I Look To You"-I don't think there will be some vocal fireworks in the vein of her earlier stuff, but rather toned down yet emotional performance. I own "I Look To You" and think it's one of her best even if Whitney's vocals were not as strong as before. Her singing became more nuanced and mature and that's what I liked about it. I hope she could bring the same qualities in her performance of "Has Anyone Ever Written Anyting For You".

I don't think HAEWAFY really requires the big power vocals anyhoo, so if Whitney did record it, it's quite fascinating to think that her voice would be like Stevie's - not the instrument it once was and quite ravished, which serves to add to the emotional power of the song, I think.

I think Whitney will make HAEWAFY a hit like Dolly's tune.
