Default There's A Song On The New Miranda Lambert CD....

...entitled "Airstream Song" that I think would be a perfect fit for Stevie, should she ever get around to doing A) a covers album, or B) a Country album!

Check it out!

That is my favorite song on Miranda's new cd, and while the lyrics would be very fitting for Stevie, I don't want to hear her sing it. Love Miranda's voice on it too much.

Here's the lyrics:

Sometimes I wish I lived in an Airstream
Homemade curtains, lived just like a gypsy
Break a heart, roll out of town
‘Cause gypsies never get tied down

Sometimes I wish I lived on a mountain
Drank from a stream instead of a fountain
I’d stay there, top of the world
But I was born a red dirt girl

Unbridled or tethered and tied
The safety of the fence or the danger of the ride
I’ll always be unsatisfied

Sometimes I wish I lived by a pier
In a lighthouse with a chandelier
I’d watch everybody’s ships come in
And then I’d sail away with them

Unanchored in the storm
Or safely on the shore
If this is all I need, why do I want more

Sometimes I wish I lived in an airstream
Homemade curtains, lived just like a gypsy

I haven't heard the song...but I love those lyrics! I just had to put "cause gypsies never get tied down" in as part of my my msn messenger comment. I love the idea of that...always being free

Like I said, I've never heard Miranda sing it so I would love to hear Stevie try it...of course, even if I had heard Miranda sing it, I would want to hear Stevie try it

The lyrics are totally cool! However, more than I would like to see Stevie sing this, I would love for her to be writing new songs like this.

I agree! It's my favourite too, love that it (probably unintentionally) references two great songs, 'Gypsy' and 'Red Dirt Girl'.

I reckon it's just the mention of gypsies that makes it 'Steviesque', the lyrics are pure Miranda. The song was actually inspired by Merle Haggard's 'The Way I Am', Miranda wanted to write her own version.

I was about to come on here and tell everyone to wait for Lauren's response cos I knew she immediately would and yes, there she is!

How well you know me. I guess my love of Miranda is pretty well documented on facebook.

Get it! It's shaping up to be my Album of the Year, ahead of the likes of Rosanne Cash, Chris Isaak, Carly Simon, Rob Thomas and Louise Goffin!
