I remember skipping class to buy SYW in college...haha. I drove all around town to jam out with it in my car...I think it is in my top 3 overall favorite mac albums...following Tusk and Rumours. I think it had a lot of great gems on it....The only songs i really skip over are:
Murrow
Red Rover
Silver Girl

There are a couple of "****ters" on the album, those in my opinion being "Peacekeeper" - my least favourite song on the entire album, I hate it and will always ask why it was chose as a single over say "Steal Your Heart Away" which is classic Fleetwood Mac style - "Silver Girl" (any song about Sheryl Crow is enough to make me vomit) - and I've never been overly impressed with "Miranda" either.

I love Miranda! I've heard a few people say they're not keen but it's totally one of my favourites on the album! Not at all keen on Silver Girl though, I think that seems to be a common opinion?!

Yes, I love Miranda. I had to make myself stop playing it, so I wouldn't burn out on it. Also, even though people don't like Stevie's vocals tacked on to many of the GOS songs, with Miranda, I believe her vocals added to the song. There's a flat, dissonant quality that suggests someone removed from reality in the tone, which expresses the message beautifully and with mystery.

When I was growing up, there was a song called Angie Baby about a girl descending into madness and I think Miranda strikes me in the same way as that one did.

And really, I thought the lyrics were stellar and opened the door to the great word work that Lindsey would also display throughout UTS.

SYW was Excellent but not half as good as it could have been.

I was just rereading Q's Reissue Reviews in the August 2009 issue and this is what they said about SYW:

With Christine McVie having finally decided she'd hd enough. Say You Will wasn't a full-scale reunion. But with Nicks and Buckingham once again in the fold, and Fleetwood and John McVie seemingly determined to carry on forever, it came as close as most fans could hope for. What they ended up with might have been separate Nicks and Buckingham albums randomly sequenced and shunted together. Twice as long as it should have been, nd often highlighting the pair's wildly divergent styles -- she intensely personal, he vaguely political -- it's a mess rather than a disaster.

Right now I have just come off a 2 month + period of listening to this album continuously in the car. (So glad I am not the only one who likes this album so much). Not sure if it is the constant repetition, but I love it. Some of the songs that ppl tend to not like (i.e. silver girl (has a good chorus) & I love peacekeeper), the only songs I skip tend to be Morrow and I can listen to the start of Red Rover and then have to go on.

Top 5:
1. Peacekeeper
2. Thrown Down
3. Destiny Rules
4. Steal Your Heart Away
5. Running Through the Garden

(Top 3 in no particular order, honestly)

Maybe bc we have all watched the DR doc and hear the songs here and there in the footage, there adds something to it all, but I love me some SN & LB together...nothing else to say but this is a great album and we all have different tastes as to what we may think is superior.

I liked the album, I just thought that it needed some piano on it, if they record another album I think there should be more piano on it

Yup. In the destiny rules doc when they play it for the big wigs Stevie tries to say over the noise that the song is about Sheryl. I believe she has stated this more than once.

No. Oh no.

I did not know "Silver Girl" was about Sheryl. I mean...I like Sheryl and all, but damn...just no.

For some reason, I like it when Stevie is singing about herself, lol. This is also one of my least favorite songs on SYW and now maybe I know why. Don't get me wrong, really, I think Sheryl Crow is an admirable artist. I just...nevermind...lol

Say You Will was the first Fleetwood Mac album I bought. I'd got into Stevie, and when I found out that she was in Fleetwood Mac, I decided I'd get their greatest hits and their latest album. I love it, and my favourite 5 songs are (in no particular order):
Illume
Thrown Down
Destiny Rules
Come
Murrow Turning Over In His Grave
