Say You Will

So I finally went to buy "Say You Will". For some reason I never got it. But I was dying to hear "Say Goodbye". So I go to the record store (yes, a record store) in Pasadena, Ca. I find a used CD for $8.99. But it's just a plain cover. Not the picture cover. So I start whining to the guy if that's the only one they have and could they check if they have a cover for it. He says no and I buy it anyways. Now at this store they keep the actual CD packages behind the counter. So he gives it to me and it looks like a little book. The pictures are all glossy and clear and it has a second CD with a few extra songs. I guess it was the deluxe edition which I didn't know existed. Needless to say, I am now very happy and listening to it. But I must say I think I prefer the live version of "Say Goodbye". The best live version being from the DVD of the show in Boston in 2004. I wish that one was on the CD for that DVD. It's the most emotional one I've heard. That's what made me fall in love with that song. Anyways, just my little story.

:) It took me a long time to buy SYW too. But I love it.

The Album version of Say Goodbye is very odd. I don't know what compelled Lindsey to have the song at that speed?

Say You Will was the second Fleetwood Mac album i bought after Tango in the night weirdly enough.

Tri,

Check out the live version of "Say Goodbye" from the special edition of Buckingham's "Under the Skin" (It was also the same version on his SoundStage DVD) ;)

I love this album now, too, after listening to it last night.
So my ears aren't crazy, Say Goodbye does sound fast on the CD. Lindsey sounds like he has to rush some of his phrasing.
Does anyone know if there are any MP3's of any of these 2 live versions of this song? I think when they do it live it is one of Lindsey's best EVER. It stands up to any of his classic work. It's heart wrenching.

Say You Will is where all of the Mac Magic started for me, so it brings back a lot of very positive memories!!!!

I love say you will so much. I just started listening to it again and its still so darn good. Say Goodbye is such a beautiful song and I love the live version so much more than the cd version. My hubby who isnt even a Mac fan absolutely loves this song. Oh how I remember the Say You Will tour so well. I saw them 3 times and that probably was the only time I will ever get to see them so many times on one tour or shall I say that was the only time I could afford to.
