Stevie's reeboks get stuck in the wet concrete again at the hotel??????????
Seriously though, sorry to those who were going tonight, that's a major bummer, at least it's POSTPONED instead of being flat out canceled though!

Actually, I think that WAS Calgary. Face it, Fleetwood Mac doesn't like you. (That's okay. The Who always cancels their Cincinnati shows, too.)

Wow... I had no idea they even had a Western Canadian date scheduled for The Dance Tour.... Definitely wasn't rescheduled!

It seems more like Western Canada doesn't like Fleetwood Mac - i.e. this comment: "Ahhhh, if only it was Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Unfortunately, the girls wrecked a great blues band. Pop turned it to poop."
Last time I checked, when Christine first started playing with the band, they were still doing blues songs. ![]() I thought they had a date in Vancouver.

I am sorry to hear this .. hope who ever is sick gets well soon.
Also sorry for everyone looking forward to tonight's show. I experienced a canceled show once in the DC area during SYW tour and it really bums you out, but I know if someone is sick, can't very well belt out Tusk or ISA or Stand Back or Silver Springs if you are coughing or sneezing or have a sore throat.

Unless, of course, they're referring to Lindsey as a girl, in which case I'd agree. But, if we're going to blame anybody for turning Fleetwood Mac in to pop, we really have to blame Danny Kirwan. It was all his fault. I mean, how else can we explain Fleetwood Mac's transition away from such great blues-rock numbers like Albatross or Man Of The World? (EXTRA heavy on the sarcasm, there.)

It was Vancouver. Rumor has it that it was canceled due to baby mama drama.
Vancouver is one of the most successful dates on this tour. |

The official reason for the '97 cancelling was Lindsey having bronchitis or something wasn't it? I know that if you listen to boots of the Fargo or Tacoma shows, he sounds pretty shot in the voice department. If memory serves me correctly, it's very pronounced in the Fargo show which was just a few days prior to the cancelled Vancouver show.
Of course, with Fleetwood Mac, there's always drama so who knows! |

What I could see happening is them postponing Vancouver as well, and rescheduling all 3 Canada shows into June, and dumping Tacoma all together. It would be good cover to use this so they wouldnt have to admit to the slow Tacoma sales. That would give Stevie or whoever it is a week to rest before Sacramento on the 18th.

Calgary Herald, May 13, 2009
http://www.calgaryherald.com/Enterta...327/story.html Fleetwood Mac Leaves Calgary Fans Hanging CALGARY - Dianne Cowan and her husband had a white-knuckle drive Tuesday when they made the pilgrimage from Medicine Hat in the middle of "a terrible rainstorm" to see Fleetwood Mac. They even saw an accident along the way, with a motorcycle in the ditch, Cowan said, but it was a trek she was willing to make. A fan of the Grammy award-winning rock band since the 1970s, Cowan still has the original Fleetwood Mac LPs from that era, and she, her husband and their four friends were "all hyped up" about Tuesday's concert in Calgary, she said. Like many a Fleetwood Mac fan, however, Cowan was disappointed when the Rock&Roll Hall of Famers cancelled their show due to the illness of a member of the band (rumoured to be Stevie Nicks). The show's promoters announced the concert would be postponed to a later date, four hours before the band was scheduled to perform. At that late notice, even though word went out on the Internet and on the radio, many fans had no idea about the change in plans until they arrived at the 'Dome. "We found out right here, right now," said Cowan, standing outside the Saddledome on a chilly Tuesday evening. "This was our big chance to see Fleetwood Mac." Cowan said she and her husband do plan to use the tickets on the new concert date -- which has yet to be announced. But Bill Stevens and his family, who made the nine-hour drive from Regina, didn't think they would return. "We've got to come back? I've got to take more holidays? I don't think so," Stevens said. Having made the journey to Calgary with his wife Tracy, as well as his mother-in-law and daughter, Stevens thought there should be some consideration. "We've got three generations of Fleetwood Mac fans here. I hope they make it up to us," he said. Promoters stated refunds for the tickets will be given at the point of purchase. Including the cost of four tickets for the concert -- which came to more than $800 -- Stevens estimated he'd spent at least $2,000, including travel and hotel costs. The family isn't willing to rack up any more, said Bill's wife, Tracy Stevens. "We're already out the money it cost us to get here, and we're not even seeing the concert," she said. Calgary Metro News, May 13, 2009
http://www.metronews.ca/calgary/loca...celled-concert Fleetwood fans disappointed by cancelled concert Crystal Scriven’s sister Candice Hackman and her mom, Allison, flew in from Fort St. John, B.C., for last night’s Fleetwood Mac concert at the Pengrowth Saddledome. But, unfortunately for the Mount Royal journalism student and her family, the concert was cancelled four hours prior to the opening. Her tickets were purchased in January of this year — so they’ve been waiting a few months for the big night. “We got presale tickets and everything,” said Scriven. “It’s not nice. We were looking forward to it.” Scriven isn’t sure if she’ll be in Calgary when the concert is rescheduled, though the show’s promoter said that when the show is rescheduled, the May 12 tickets would be honoured or reimbursed. metro calgary |

Pollstar
http://pollstar.com/blogs/news/archi...13/666725.aspx Sick Call Posted on Wednesday May 13, 2009 Illness strikes Depeche Mode, Fleetwood Mac and Morrissey, causing DM to skip last night’s Athen’s engagement, The Mac postponing Calgary and Alberta, and Moz missing shows in the United Kingdom. Depeche Mode bowed out of the group’s scheduled concert in Athens, Greece, after lead singer Dave Gahan was rushed to an Athens hospital. Details are sketchy as no one from the Depeche Mode camp has commented on Gahan’s condition, although AFP reports he is being treated for “suspected gastroenteritis.” Meanwhile, promoters are telling fans to hang on to their tickets, suggesting last night’s gig might take place tonight. Depeche Mode’s next scheduled date is tomorrow night in Istanbul, Turkey. Details are also on the thin side regarding Fleetwood Mac’s Canada dates in Alberta. Blaming illness, the band postponed Tuesday’s scheduled concert at Calgary’s Pengrowth Saddledome and tonight’s gig in Edmonton. The Saddledome’s Web site advises ticket holders to hang on to their ducats for a rescheduled date. Fleetwood Mac’s Edmonton stop, scheduled for tonight at Rexall Place, has also been postponed, according to the Edmonton Sun. The newspaper says a new date will be announced shortly. Fleetwood Mac’s next scheduled show is Friday, May 15 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Then there’s Morrissey, who’s been a bit under the weather lately. He postponed Tuesday’s gig at London’s Royal Albert Hall and has nixed tonight’s stop at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. According to published reports, doctors have ordered Moz to get some rest. At this time the next show on Morrissey’s schedule is Friday night’s engagement at the Britannia Pier in Great Yarmouth. |
