That shawl was beautiful. So, while he looked nothing like Stevie, it was, I think the shawl. Wow - so you had a similar experience in that La Nicks totally realized what was going on and paused what she was doing and finished with you - gave you your due and proper so to speak. I think that shows that she was really alert and into this fan feast; she really wanted it to matter to everyone who waited. She really meant it when she said at the very beginning that she was "honored" that we were there for her (or something like that).

Alex is the very blond guy who was one of the three people (the two others were girls) who won the Stevie look alike contest and, therefore, got to meet La Nicks immediately prior to the signing. He is in the pics posted.

I think people are noting that he looks nothing like La Nicks, which is true. However, his shawl was stunning. Moreover, his personality was great, affable if you will. So, I think those two things, as opposed to actually looking like Stevie, got him in.

It is important to note that the "rules" of the contest were that the BN employess were looking all day for people who had characteristics of La Nicks, not really an actual look alike contest.

Again, I say kudos to Alex and I am happy for him, if not more than a little jealous

You know - I had not really been to a "Ledgie function" in awhile (years really) -- it was so good to meet people and put names to faces. It was also neat to meet people, most of whom are different (in a good way) than what they come across as online.

Yes! Like you said earlier, she really made it feel personal despite the assembly line and everything else going on around her!

Alex is a sweetheart! He truly deserved that last night and I was so happy for him!

When I got my ticket to the IZOD show, he told me "Ah, you deserved it!" and in this case, I am giving it right back - He deserved it!

I took videos and they actually don't look that great on my laptop. It will take me a long time to convert them and upload them to Youtube so I am going to post a few screen shots.

Was anyone successful about mentioning doing SOTM in concert to Stevie?
Probably not since it was so busy there, but thought I would ask.

I can not say enough how cool it is that Stevie finally has done one of these signings to connect with the fans beyond a concert setting.

Oh, and telling Stevie she needs to do a new album and we need her and then she saying she needs us... that means so much.

Damn, why Stevie has not received a key to a city somewhere, I will never know. She needs the key to Washington DC since she visits the soldiers so much.

I sent in some questions for her to answer on tonight's Jimmy Fallon show. In one I asked about SOTM... hopefully she'll answer it on air!

wow, can you imagine if she answered something like that? Even if she says no, at least she would know there are fans out there that love that song done live.
