To be honest, even when I was standing right in front of her, while she was talking to others, I wasn't all that much in thrall, even though I just couldn't believe I was so close to her. But the second that she focuses her eyes on you and talks to you, you get this very overwhelming sensation of pure, unmitigated awe that you just stand there going hummina hummina hummina....

We know him and that is a pretty awful thing to say about someone.

What you don't see in that pic is the very faithful reproduction of the official Gold Dust shawl he was wearing for most of the day. He earned his prize through sheer (pun intended) humiliation.

I was at the signing and I know he had a shawl on. We sat 2 rows behind him. I believe it was once owned by Stevie.

I think the blonde girl with the black wizard sleeve dress was a plausible contender. But Alannis Morristown in the sequined Charo dress... not so much...

Default A Thousand Thanks

I'm feeling very grateful to all of you for the fantastic sharing. I never thought I would ever see Stevie do an event like a signing. Good for her and may there be others!!!

I am sad to hear about this. You know, I have been thinking for a while now that maybe those "bored" looks we are seeing on stage lately are just passing moments of sadness or concern for someone, I guess it might be him. I too am going through some family crises right now and is hard to stay focused on work/career stuff right now.

I am so glad she held people's hands. You know the gloves thing... it might be more of a "covering up my arms" because of air from the fans blowing on them on stage instead of a germ hand thing. Opening night, no arm gloves with the red dress, then we start seeing the fingerless gloves with the red dress. Just my mind wandering again....

Stevie is just so sweet and kind hearted.

Ok. I didn't realize that was Alex. From what everyone else has said, it sounds like he had a great experience and I look forward to reading about it. Michele

I got on line outside around 8:30 am. I met two really great girls (Hi Oykamu)! who really helped the hours not seem so bad. There really weren't many "look alikes" around that I noticed. I think they originally wanted 2 look alikes, but I heard some complaints from a few guys that it wasn't fair to those with penises.

I was able to get a couple of pictures of Stevie when the press was snapping away. I was seated in the first seat of the second row, and a few people down had asked everyone in the area to stay seated when Stevie came out so we could all have the opportunity for photos. I was able to get a couple shots so I was happy. A minute or two later some people started to creap up to take photos which instigated some hysterical shouts of "Down in front". Ironic since those people who asked everyone to stay seated were standing on their chairs! LOL!

Didn't know what to say to Stevie. I didn't think I would be as nervous as I was. I got to hold her hands and I thanked her for the signing. I told her I thought it was wonderful how she visited the soldiers and brought them iPods, and asked her how to contribute. "Yes, yes" she said, "Talk to the girl over there in the black, my assistant Karen, she'll give you the details" and she called Karen over. Karen said that they accept donations through the Nicks fix, which I think was established here before. Stevie had started signing the next persons items so I just said "Thank you" as I was beginning to leave. She looked at me and thanked me for asking about the iPods and said "They (the soldiers) really, really need us".
